Iranian Cleric: Women Causing Earthquakes with Their Revealing Clothing Styles

Remember in high school feeling that that cute girl made the Earth tremble at your feet. It turns out that she does, at least according to Senior Iranian cleric Hojatoleslam Kazem Sedighi.

The cleric laid the blame for Earthquakes squarely on the all-too-often bare shoulders of women: “Many women who do not dress modestly … lead young men astray, corrupt their chastity and spread adultery in society, which (consequently) increases earthquakes.” Segighi posed the question “what can we do to avoid being buried under the rubble?'” He had a simple answer, “There is no other solution but to take refuge in religion and to adapt our lives to Islam’s moral codes.” It is like an entire nation lead by the Westboro Baptist Church.

Of course, this is no different from our own fundamentalist preachers blaming Katrina or tidal waves on immorality, here.

The Iranian discovery could be a breakthrough for seismologists who can simply go to Milan each year and predict coming earthquakes from the runways of the leading design studios.
