Isn’t it wonderful how extremists can now simply tweet their death threats?
Another cartoon jihadi Younus Abdullah Muhammad further explained “I think it’s very clear what we are saying. Under Islam, the punishment for insulting Muhammad is death . . . You saw the picture of Theo Van Gogh lying (dead) on the streets in Europe. At the end of the day there is a very real possibility that this will be the outcome for the ‘South Park’ creators.”
What is interesting is that under the new move toward international blasphemy laws in the West, this cartoon could be the grounds for prosecution. In prior columns (here)and stories (here), I have discussed how the West is enabling these radical attacks on free speech by embracing the concept of blasphemy or prosecuting speech against religions as discrimination or hate speech.
The posting on the website states that “we have to warn Matt and Trey that what they are doing is stupid and they will probably wind up like Theo Van Gogh for airing this show.”
Of course, attacking over cartoonists is the natural progression after calling for the death of cartoon characters, here. Cartoonists may want to look carefully within their cast ranks for sleeper agents recruited by Al Qaeda. I have my own suspect . . .
