Russian Party Leaders Call For Branding Of Corrupt Officials

Russian politicians appear to be adopting the methods of some Sharia courts in proposing that corrupt Russian officials be branded with the letter K (the Russian symbol for a bribe taker) on their left hands.

Liberal Democratic Party deputies Sergei Ivanov and Igor Lebedev have proposed the draconian measure in the State Duma to shame officials and deter others: “The authors of the bill believe that branding bribe-takers with indestructible marks in a visible place to show that they have committed a crime will enable employers to refuse them employment.”

Whether it is blasphemy laws or branding laws, the West appears to be de-evolving with such measures.
