Man Steals Painting of Virgin Mary to Pay For Abortion For an Underaged Girl He Raped

170px-VladimirskayaIf I recall correctly from my high school preparatory seminary, there are venial sinners and mortal sinners, but we might have to find a third category for Aurelio Vallerillo-Sanchez, 39. He was convicted of stealing a 300-year-old painting of the Virgin Mary to pay for an abortion for a teenage girl whom he is accused of raping. That should cover the bases for a one-way ticket to the hot zone.

There was nothing immaculate about this conception. Vallerillo-Sanchez seemed determined to rid himself of the baby — and evidence of his original crime.

Vallerillo-Sanchez fled Nebraska to Mexico with both the Virgin Mary and the pregnant teen. No abortion occurred and he then pushed the girl to put up the child for adoption.

Vallerillo-Sanchez, 39, was convicted of first-degree sexual assault and felony theft. He was sentenced up to 70 years in prison.
