ConAgra Faces New Salmonella Incident

ConAgra Foods Inc. has had to stop production of its Banquet pot pies after 139 cases of salmonella in 30 states.

Salmonella strikes about 40,000 people a year in the U.S. with 600 deaths. This is the second recall of Conagra foods due to Salmonella. Earlier this year, ConAgra had to recall all of its peanut butter because of a different salmonella outbreak. This pattern is likely to fuel litigation over the companies safety record and failure to protect its food supply. For the full story, click here
