Potty Mouth Offense: Cop Charges Woman For Swearing Inside Her Own Home

We have seen more than a few abuses of police authority for personal reasons, such as the recent charge against a fast food worker for putting too much salt in an officer’s burger. Now, a woman has been charged with disorderly conduct for swearing inside her bathroom as a toilet overflowed into the kitchen. Her neighbor is an off-duty cop who called in the offensen and prompted the charge. For the full story, click here Once again, the question is why such abuses of authority occur. It is not the officers themselves but their expectation that such excess of authority is permitted in their jurisdiction.

    The fact that a charge like this would be acted on by the police is bizarre. Our rights to privacy and freedom of speech are being morphed into the right of the state and corporations to invade our privacy and control our speech.
