Arthur Sedille has a difficult criminal defense to prove at trial. Sedille admits that he shot to death his wife in Oklahoma City. However, he insists that he was merely engaging in fantasy sex play with a gun that he thought was unloaded. It wasn’t.
Sedille, 23, insists that he routinely engaged this type of bizarre play and had only
pulled the handgun’s slide back during sex on the night of December 21 when it went off. He then called 911.
He was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder but police are investigating the basis for his claim. The defense will turn entirely on any proof of this particular form of sex play and the absence of marital difficulties or a motive for murder. After all, this would be the perfect defense by anyone who wants to kill a spouse. There is no way to prove that the trigger was pulled as a fantasy as opposed to a premeditated murder. This is one fetish that Sedille better hope was common knowledge.

FFLEO,
Thanks for the fiddles! … a viola is a little cello
Well, if one looks at the facts and the desires of his old lady, he’ll be out in no time and will be able to prosecute the county and will receive millions from the unlawful and discriminatory arrest. One should not incarcerate the victim in a case of her demented sex desires.
Blouise,
That is indeed a good song. However, this is my favorite Haggard tune. I have the Bob Wills tribute album featuring this song.
You should like this because Merle plays fiddle (small cello!). Bob Wills taught him to play. Merle is very young here, though.
Good country swing and triple fiddles:
mespo and FFLEO,
Some men get better lookin’ as they age … Merle is one of those men. This is one of my favorites:
Thank you Mespo,
I will try to catch the Merle H. clips since the others are not quite my style.
FFleo:
Here’s the synopsis to help you decide:
“Gwen Stefani, Steven Tyler, and Sheryl Crow were among the performers who delivered tributes to legendary entertainers during this year’s Kennedy Center Honors. The ceremony honored Paul McCartney, Oprah Winfrey, country singer Merle Haggard, composer Jerry Herman and dancer Bill T. Jones.
McCartney was honored with performances of his classic Beatles songs, such as “Hello, Goodbye” and “Penny Lane,” by Stefani and her No Doubt bandmates, while Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler let loose during a medley of the Beatles’ “Abbey Road.” Singers Dave Grohl and Norah Jones also paid tribute to McCartney, performing one of his biggest solo songs, “Maybe I’m Amazed,” as a duet.
The Kennedy Center Honors were aired last night (Dec. 28) on CBS after being recorded in Washington D.C. earlier this month.”
To my taste not enough Paul, too much Oprah, and nowhere near enough Merle.
Mespo,
That is a very good song with meaningful and poetic lyrics. This is the first time I have ever really listened to all the divisions of the arrangement.
Since I do not have TV, I might look for excerpts of the Kennedy Center program. Was the salute worthwhile?
FFLeo:
Speaking of Okies, I watched the Kennedy Center salute to Merle Haggard. Here’s one of my favorites with some might country fine poetry.
“Never been nobody’s idol, but at least I got a title … I take a lot of pride in what I am”
Sounds reasonable to me…..Dick and George had war toys…..why can’t he have this one last one before he meets his maker…..
We have long abandoned the stance that men may abuse their wives, physically or mentally… Unless it’s through “consensual” sex. My vote is that even if this was exactly as he described, he’s still as guilty as a husband who “merely” wanted to tell his woman a thing or two with his fists and it’s not his fault she was too frail to take it!
The old “it was a fetish and I thought the gun wasn’t loaded” defense! A very interesting age difference between the spouses does make one wonder about the motive. I am waiting for the fall back defense of “she needed killing” in order for me to collect the insurance!
This feller and his most likely christian court appointed OK public defender is a’gonna have a difficult time ‘feedin’ the story of his ‘fed-dish’ to a bible-belt OK jury.
(That beggers the question: Are such juries of 12 disciples ever OK/okay?).
Maybe he was trying to be the fifth member of the cast of the “Big Bang Theory ” Show:
Elements of the show
[edit] Science
Much of the show focuses on science, particularly physics. The four main male characters are employed at Caltech and have science-related occupations.
Leonard is an experimental physicist who earned his Ph.D. at age 23. He often works with lasers, and unsuccessfully attempted to disprove the existence of dark matter.
Sheldon is a theoretical physicist with an M.S. and two Ph. Ds. He has spent much of his career attempting to prove string theory over loop quantum gravity. He believed he proved it on an expedition to the North Pole, but the guys later revealed that they fabricated the results so they could return home, sending Sheldon spiraling into depression.
Howard is an aerospace engineer who has a Master’s from MIT. He has developed several devices for the International Space Station, but he often uses them for his own purposes with disastrous results, such as getting a Mars rover stuck in a ditch while trying to impress a girl or getting a robotic arm stuck on his penis while using it to masturbate. He also invented a zero-gravity human waste disposal system (essentially a space toilet) for the space station, but shortly after it was deployed he discovered a structural weakness: that the toilet would fail after a certain number of flushes, and the waste material would eventually come back out. As a result, he pulled an all-nighter with Sheldon and Raj trying to fix it; their ultimate solution proved unsuccessful (and it became, as Raj put it, a “waste distribution system”).
Raj is an astrophysicist with a Ph.D. Following his discovery of a planetary object beyond the Kuiper Belt, Raj was named in People Magazine’s “30 Under 30 to Watch,” and became a celebrity of sorts, getting a larger office and drawing the envy of his friends. After failed research on the composition of trans-Neptunian objects, Raj feared the prospect of being deported back to India; eventually he collaborated with Sheldon “exploring string theory implications of gamma rays from dark matter
Frank,
I agree. As our host aptly stated, “This is one fetish that Sedille better hope was common knowledge.”
It’s OK — Oklahoma,that is… I’m guessin’ that he’ll be doin’ some extended time…
“More frontier justice…” -mespo.
========
…a veritable epidemic…
From the article:
“Although a Canadian County judge found that probable cause exists to hold Sedille on the murder charge, assistant district attorney Paul Hesse said Tuesday he has yet to receive a report from police on the case. As a result, formal charges have not yet been filed, Hesse said.”
********************
An interesting interpretation of “probable cause” to arrest by the Judge given that no police report has yet been filed. More frontier justice and, as the song says:
“And when we say–Yeeow! A-yip-i-o-ee ay!
We’re only sayin’ You’re doin’ fine, Oklahoma! Oklahoma–O.K.”
anon – did she have a lot of money or big insurance policy?
This is sad any way it happened – either it really was a tragic accident that he will have to live with the rest of his life or he has come up with a plausible defense for murder. I’d hate to have to sit on the jury for this one unless there is some really solid evidence one way or the other.
He’s 23, she was 50… Just stating the facts…
LOL @ ” negligent discharge,” someone was not paying attention to ” due diligence.” Am sure hes made a proper fool of himself in the court.
What a bad case of negligent discharge, and I wasn’t talking about other gun.
