The most recent target was the veteran Fox news anchor John Roberts, who was accused of airing “a blatant lie” in questioning Biden’s claim that he was the first president to push through a cap of $35 on insulin treatments. Roberts was entirely correct, but the campaign has still not removed the false attack on his integrity and accuracy.
In the interests of full disclosure, I am a legal analyst for Fox News and I have known Roberts for decades. There is no one who I hold in higher regard for his integrity or his intellect than John Roberts. We have known and worked with each other at different networks through the years. Roberts is an old-school journalist with impeccable credentials.
Yesterday, the Biden campaign launched the attack on Roberts for his questioning of the claim of President Joe Biden that he solely secured the insulin cap. Roberts remarked that he had a recollection that it was former President Donald Trump who pushed the cap.
“I seem to remember that back in May of 2020, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid said that President Trump had signed an executive order to cap the price of insulin for Medicare recipients at 35 bucks. Now, maybe I’m misremembering that, but I think it kind of already happened.”
The Biden campaign then called it “a blatant lie” in a posting on X that has reached over a million people.
Contrary to the Biden campaign’s claims, Roberts’s recollection was entirely correct. Under the Trump Administration, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services announced in May 2020 that the Part D Senior Savings Model participating plans would cap insulin copays to $35 per month’s supply, and over 1,750 Medicare Advantage and Medicare Part D plans applied to offer lower insulin costs.
Trump praised the new policy, which was widely covered by the press.

Trump later, in July 2020, signed four executive orders aimed at lowering the cost of insulin. That included Executive Order 13937, which required Federally Qualified Health Centers to pass 340B discounts on to patients. Notably, Biden later reversed Executive Order 13937 before those cost-saving measures could take effect.
This is obviously not the first false statement from the President. However, it is notable that his campaign spread obvious disinformation that was picked up by over a million people but then declined to take down the false claim. The campaign is now in a worse position. To take down the posting is to acknowledge not just that it has lied about Roberts, but that the President lied in taking sole credit for this cap.
This is the same administration supporting the banning, blacklisting, and throttling of those responsible for disinformation. I would not support such censorship of the campaign. This and other columns refuting the false account is sufficient to combat a “blatant lie” by the Biden campaign. Whether it is his uncle being eaten by cannibals or insulin caps, free speech can correct false claims without government regulation. However, President Biden and his administration continue to push for censorship of others accused for false or misleading statements.
The fact that John Roberts was right is hardly surprising. However, there remains a “blatant lie” on the Biden campaign’s social media that must still be corrected.

The “Trump said people should drink bleach” or “Trump said to inject detergent” hoaxes are really tired stories that mostly never even happened, but which are repeated ad nauseam. Though, I suppose it’s appropriate when JT is talking about Biden and his supporters repeating misinformation. Trump never said anyone should drink bleach and never said people should ingest or inject themselves with any kind of detergent.
In that press conference, Trump was mostly excited about a study showing that UV light was highly effective in killing the coronavirus on surfaces. His only mention of disinfectants was right after Bill Bryan of DHS’ Science and Technology Directorate talked about testing disinfectants. No one said anything about drinking bleach. And, when Trump talked about disinfectants (once again, mixed in with his comments about the possibility of using UV as a disinfectant) he was quite clear that not only was he only talking about doctors looking into it, but that medical doctors would be needed if any viable treatment came out of the research. Biden Administration Rescinds Trump Administration Insulin Pricing Rule
One of the final healthcare actions made by the Trump Administration has been rescinded by the Biden Administration. On December 23, 2020, the Trump Administration finalized a rule that directed the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to take action to require that federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) make insulin and injectable epinephrine available to certain patients at 340B prices. Jonathan: By the way, did you see that in our southern neighbor Mexico it has just elected it’s first woman President–Claudia Sheinbaum. The first female President in the country’s 200 year history. Quite remarkable considering both the leading candidates were women. Sheinbaum is a climate scientist and former mayor of Mexico City. She is also the first President from a Jewish background to lead a predominantly Catholic country. A lot of firsts in Mexico’s election!
Contrast with what just happened in Mexico to our own upcoming presidential election. One of the leading candidates is a “convicted felon” who tried to overturn the last election with an attempted coup d’etat. That sounds like something we might expect in a Central American country or even in Brazil–but here?
Despite being older than modern Mexico we still have been unable to elect a female President or one who is Jewish. And it won’t happen this year. And we are the country that claims to be the leader of the “free world” and the champion of democratic rights. And here the leading candidate for one party says he will not recognize the election results if he loses–again! What does that say about the state of our own “Democracy”?

The fat in butter, animal fats, etc contains essential nutrients and substances that are essential for our immune systems and to make our bodies capable of processing glucose and absorbing insulin.
The high carbohydrate low-fat diet, IS the killer. That’s the truth. Talk to any honest doctor or nutritionist and they’ll tell you. There’s dozens of peer reviewed studies and papers on it and ample evidence for the FDA and the AMA and the USDA to put the brakes on and say “hey we were wrong, eat a high fat high protein diet and keep the grains and carbs to a minimum”, but they don’t. The medical community still treats people with type II diabetes by prescribing around 45 grams of carbs per meal, plus carb snacks in between. How many of you ever known a diabetic, and seen them eating “rice cakes” throughout the day as part of their diet regimen? Ever hear this, …”eat 5 or six small meals throughout the day” with of course the emphasis on carbs. That will kill your liver and kidneys and make you a prime candidate for cancer.

Carbs are the killer, and not only do they push them on all our kids now but they add mounds of sugar to them just like they did in the 70s with the super sweet breakfast cereals we grew up on, …Quake, Count Chocula, Capn Crunch. This stuff is all poison to the human body but they shovel it into our kids mouths and now we have a generation of 30 somethings with pale pasty skin and all overweight, millions dying from diseases normally associated with much older adults like fatty liver disease, heart disease, cancer, etc and all because they grew up drinking fruit juice and eating sugar and carbs carbs carbs.
And this is why voting for Trump isn’t going to change anything. Because we are turning into a corporate police state, and Trump is a corporate stooge along with the rest. He’s for big business, he’s for corporations controlling things. And that’s why we’re failing rapidly. The farmers wanted to sell grain. period. So some strings were pulled, maybe some money changed hands and walla, USDA comes out with the “Food Pyramid” and suddenly doctors across the US in every hospital and small town doctors office were prescribing high carb diets to their patients, especially those with diabetes which of course a high carb diet will just increase a diabetics need for insulin, not decrease it.
If we got someone in truthful, then they’d abandon these agencies and start over, and medical institutions would tell their type II diabetic patients of which now there are millions upon millions, to stop eating carbohydrates and start eating a high fat diet and within a few months their need for insulin would abate until ultimately they’d not need it any more.
That’s the truth, there’s plenty of documented evidence out there to confirm it to anyone who does a minimum of research, but do the two political front runner candidates for President say that? No instead they get us fixated on the PRICE of insulin, promising to lower the cost so Americans can take more insulin. Which of course increases the need for more those Americans to take more insulin, because with type II diabetes your body doesn’t absorb insulin properly, so the more you take the worse the condition gets. Yet they push insulin on us, and both Biden and Trump get us to focus on the cost, and not the actual problem. They get you arguing and debating over a red herring, while the real issue goes unaddressed.
Why? Because there’s no money in telling people to consume high fat diets and to stop eating carbs. No money at all in that. Its just free, correct information that if followed, would resolve more than half the type II diabetes cases in the United States in a matter of months, meaning all that lost revenue for the pharmaceutical corporations and the medical institutions.
And no one wants that.
