Below is my column in the New York Post on the recent interview of Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Gov. Tim Walz defending his record on free speech. The interview with Fox host Shannon Bream only magnified concerns over what I previously described as the most anti-free speech ticket in centuries.
Here is the column:
Roughly five centuries ago, a new dance first reported in Augsburg, Germany was promptly dubbed the “waltz” after the German term for “to roll or revolve.”
Today, there is no more nimble performer of that dizzying dance than Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz.
Indeed, “Walzing” has become the Minnesota governor’s signature political two-step after his controversial statements on his allegedly socialist views, eliminating the electoral college and other topics.
On Sunday, Walz’s dance partner was Fox News host Shannon Bream, who seemed to be fighting vertigo as the candidate tried to deflect his shocking prior statements on free speech.
Bream asked Walz about his prior declaration that there is “no guarantee to free speech on misinformation or hate speech”— a statement that runs counter to decades of Supreme Court decisions.
Walz notably did not deny or retract his statement. Instead, his interview ironically became itself a flagrant example of misinformation.
First of all, misinformation and hate speech are not exceptions to the First Amendment: Whether it is the cross burnings of infamous figures like KKK leader Clarence Brandenburg or the Nazis who marched in Skokie, Ill., hate speech is protected.
Yet both Harris and Walz are true believers in the righteousness of censorship for disinformation, misinformation and malinformation.
The Biden administration defines misinformation as “false, but not created or shared with the intention of causing harm” — meaning it would subject you to censorship even if you are not intending harm.
It defines malinformation as “based on fact, but used out of context to mislead, harm, or manipulate.”
So you can post “true facts,” but would still be subject to censorship if you are viewed as misleading others with your pesky truth-telling.
Furthermore, “book bans” are not equivalent to the Harris-Walz censorship policies.
After years of supporting censorship and blacklisting, Democrats are attempting to deflect questions by claiming that the GOP is the greater threat.
“We’re seeing censorship coming in the form of book bannings in different places,” Walz told Bream. “We’re seeing attempts in schools.”
First, a reality check: The Biden-Harris administration has helped fund and actively support the largest censorship system in our history, a system described by one federal court as “Orwellian.”
These are actual and unrelenting efforts to target individuals and groups for opposing views on subjects ranging from gender identity to climate change to COVID to election fraud.
While Walz and others rarely specifically reference the book bans in question, Florida is one state whose laws concern age limits on access to graphic or sexual material in schools.
School districts have always been given wide latitude in making such decisions on curriculum or library policies. Indeed, while rarely mentioned by the media, the left has demanded the banning or alteration of a number of classic books, including “To Kill a Mockingbird” and “Of Mice and Men,” under diversity or equity rationales.
I have long opposed actual book bans perpetrated by both the left and the right. However, school districts have always made such access and curriculum decisions.
Finally, Walz and others often sell censorship by citing the dangers of child pornography or of threats made against individuals.
Walz on Sunday followed Hillary Clinton’s recent pro-censorship campaign as he employed such misdirection.
“The issue on this was the hate speech and the protected hate speech — speech that’s aimed at creating violence, speech that’s aimed at threats to individuals,” he claimed. “That’s what we’re talking about in this.”
First, he’d said there is no protected hate speech.
Second, the law already provides ample protections against threats toward individuals.
What’s most striking is that, after years of unapologetically embracing censorship (often under the Orwellian term “content moderation”), the left does not seem to want to discuss it in this election.
Democrats in Congress opposed every major effort to investigate the role of the Biden administration in the social-media censorship system it constructed. Many denied any such connection.
Elon Musk ended much of that debate with the release of the Twitter Files showing thousands of emails from the administration targeting individuals and groups with opposing views.
Now the public is being asked to vote for the most anti-free speech ticket in centuries — but neither Harris nor Walz want to talk about it in any detail.
The result may be the largest bait-and-switch in history.
Walz, Clinton and others also falsely claim they are simply trying to stop things like child pornography — which is already covered by existing criminal laws.
But what many on the left want is to regain what Clinton called their loss of “control” over what we are allowed to say or hear on social media.
Make no mistake about it: The “Walzing” of free speech is one dance you would be wise to decline.
Otherwise, do not be surprised if, when the music stops, you find yourself without both your partner and your free speech.
Jonathan Turley is the Shapiro Professor of Public Interest Law at George Washington University and the author of “The Indispensable Right: Free Speech in an Age of Rage.”
* We’ll be sure to know you’re a brute then and not respond.
* Let’s be clear children–words hurt, harm, do all kinds of horrible things. Use civility and restraint because you can. It started with Hillary and the “deplorables”. Clean up your language because you can.
“…thousands of emails from the administration targeting individuals and groups with opposing views.”
Has the Biden administration been sued yet over these 1A violations, and if not, why not?
What is the remedy for the things the Twitter Files exposed?
They have been sued – SCOTUS tossed the case on ….. STANDING, It will be back to them soon enough as the “right” party works its way up through the courts.
* scotus is doomed as is the judicial system. The invasion will continue until it’s all gone. The usa disappears and it’s just north america. You’ll live like a common animal.
Christ said his father has many mansions. This isn’t one of them. This is a shack of another father and mother for that matter.
It’s over.
* mother’s name was Rosemary and the offspring was hatched down by the river. Reptilian little creature…venomous bite for Rosemary. It then slithered into the underbrush.
“ Let’s just listen to music. Let’s make it into a music. Who the hell wants to hear questions, right?”—Trump.
Umm…weird. Trump is losing it.
Really ? Do you have a clue ? Or a heart ?
Trump was at town hall west of Philly. Part way in there were two serious medical emergencies.
As Trump has done many times in the past, he stops what he is doing calls for doctors and waits patiently while the person in distress is dealt with. In this case that took about 40 minutes.
During those 40 minutes instead ofreturning to his speech or the town hall – which Trump NEVER does while a medical emergency is being dealt with, This time he asked if attendees would like some music. They responded favorably and he acted as a DJ for about 40 monutes.
There was nothing weird about this.
Nor was Trump “loosing it”.
Doug Emhoff, KamalaSalad’s husband, sort of, allegedly impregnated a nanny in a previous marriage and aborted the baby.
That would be adultery and homicide, allegedly.
That was after “Kamie Met Willy.”
Am I right? I’m right. Aren’t I?
It’s on topic, freedom of speech is number 14, on the list of the dirty 33.
“Longtime Democrat Donor Bill Ackman Sounds the Alarm and Lists 33 Biden-Harris and Democrat Policies That ‘Destroy America from Within’”
–by Jim Hᴏft Oct. 13, 2024 1:00 pm
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2024/10/longtime-democrat-donor-bill-ackman-sounds-alarm-lists/
–Excerpt–
“While the 33 actions I describe below are those of the Democratic Party and the Biden/Harris administration, they are also the actions and policies that unfortunately our most aggressive adversaries would likely implement if they wanted to destroy America from within, and had the ability to take control of our leadership.”
These are the 33:
(1) open the borders to millions of immigrants who were not screened for their risk to the country, dumping them into communities where the new immigrants overwhelm existing communities and the infrastructure to support the new entrants, at the expense of the historic residents,
(2) introduce economic policies and massively increase spending without regard to their impact on inflation and the consequences for low-income Americans and the increase in our deficit and national debt,
(3) withdraw from Afghanistan, abandoning our local partners and the civilians who worked alongside us in an unprepared, overnight withdrawal that led to American casualties and destroyed the lives of Afghani women and girls for generations, against the strong advice of our military leadership, and thereafter not showing appropriate respect for their loss at a memorial ceremony in their honor,
(4) introduce thousands of new and unnecessary regulations in light of the existing regulatory regime that interfere with our businesses’ ability to compete, restraining the development of desperately needed housing, infrastructure, and energy production with the associated inflationary effects,
(5) modify the bail system so that violent criminals are released without bail,
(6) destroy our street retailers and communities and promote lawlessness by making shoplifting (except above large thresholds) no longer a criminal offense,
(7) limit and/or attempt to limit or ban fracking and LNG so that U.S. energy costs increase substantially and the U.S. loses its energy independence,
(8) promote DEI ideologies that award jobs, awards, and university admissions on the basis of race, sexual identity and gender criteria, and teach our students and citizens that the world can only be understood as an unfair battle between oppressors and the oppressed, where the oppressors are only successful due to structural racism or a rigged system and the oppressed are simply victims of an unfair system and world,
(9) educate our elementary children that gender is fluid, something to be chosen by a child, and promote hormone blockers and gender reassignment surgeries to our youth without regard to the longer-term consequences to their mental and physical health, and allow biological boys and men to compete in girls and women’s sports, depriving girls and women of scholarships, awards, and other opportunities that they would have rightly earned otherwise,
(10) encourage and celebrate massive protests and riots that lead to the burning and destruction of local retail and business establishments while at the same time requiring schools to be shuttered because of the risk of COVID-19 spreading during large gatherings,
(11) encourage and celebrate anti-American and anti-Israel protests and flag burning on campuses around the country with no consequences for the protesters who violate laws or university codes and policies,
(12) allow antisemitism to explode with no serious efforts from the administration to quell this hatred,
(13) mandate vaccines that have not been adequately tested nor have their risks been properly considered compared with the potential benefits adjusted for the age and health of the individual, censoring the contrary advice of top scientists around the world,
(14) shut down free speech in media and on social media platforms that is inconsistent with government policies and objectives,
(15) use the U.S., state, and local legal systems to attack and attempt to jail, take off the campaign trail, and/or massively fine candidates for the presidency without regard to the merits or precedential issues of the case,
(16) seek to defund the police and promote anti-police rhetoric causing a loss of confidence in those who are charged with protecting us,
(17) use government funds to subsidize auto companies and internet providers with vastly more expensive, dated and/or lower-quality technology when greatly superior and cheaper alternatives are available from companies that are owned and/or managed by individuals not favored by the current administration,
(18) mandate in legislation and otherwise government solutions to problems when the private sector can do a vastly better, faster, and cheaper job,
(19) seek to ban gas-powered cars and stoves without regard to the economic and practical consequences of doing so,
(20) take no serious actions when 45 American citizens are killed by terrorists and 12 are taken hostage,
(21) hold back armaments and weaponry from our most important ally in the Middle East in the midst of their hostage negotiations, hostages who include American citizens who have now been held for more than one year,
(22) eliminate sanctions on one of our most dangerous enemies enabling them to generate $150 billion+ of cash reserves from oil sales, which they can then use to fund terrorist proxy organizations who attack us and our allies. Exchange five American hostages held by Iran for five Iranians plus $6 billion of cash in the worst hostage negotiation in history setting a disastrous and dangerous precedent,
(23) remove known terrorist organizations from the terrorist list so we can provide aid to their people, and allow them to shoot rockets at U.S. assets and military bases with little if any military response from us,
(24) lie to the American people about the cognitive health of the president and accuse those who provide video evidence of his decline of sharing doctored videos and being right wing conspirators,
(25) do nothing about the deteriorating health of our citizens driven by the food industrial complex, the fraudulent USDA food pyramid, and the inclusion of ingredients in our food that are banned by other countries around the world which are more protective of their citizens,
(26) do nothing about the proliferation of new vaccines that are not properly analyzed for their risk versus the potential benefit for healthy children who are mandated to receive them,
(27) do nothing about the continued exemption from liability for the pharma industry that has led to a proliferation of mandatory vaccines for children without considering the potential cumulative effects of the now mandated 72-shot regime,
(28) convince our minority youth that they are victims of a rigged system and that the American dream is not available to them,
(29) fail to provide adequate Secret Service protection for alternative presidential candidates,
(30) litigate to prevent alternative candidates from getting on the ballot, and take other anti-competitive steps including threatening political consultants who wish to work for alternative candidates for the presidency, and limit the potential media access for other candidates by threatening the networks’ future access to the administration and access to ‘scoops’ if they platform an alternative candidate,
(31) select the Democratic nominee for president in a backroom process by undisclosed party leaders without allowing Americans to choose between candidates in an open primary,
(32) choose an inferior candidate for the presidency when other much more qualified candidates are available and interested to serve,
(33) litigate to make it illegal for states to require proof of citizenship, voter ID, and/or residence in order to vote at a time when many Americans have lost confidence in the accuracy and trustworthiness of our voting system.
“Policies That ‘Destroy America from Within’”
It’s nice to see someone focus on the only thing that counts in this election: Policies.
Not “joy.” Not smears, I’m a hunter and like tacos. Not fear-mongering. Not we have the same skin color. Policies.
I can only wonder what penalties Walz would place on Maxine waters over her clear threats to Trump supporters, or Chuck Schumer’s “we’re coming for you Gorsuch, Kavanaugh etc.” rhetoric.
Kamala Salad
* Some restaurant will begin to serve kamala salad soon.
And Walz dorf fruit cups for dessert!
Right there!
Even prominent Democrats are concerned about the prospect of Harris/Walz winning, and they are saying so on the campaign trail. For instance:
– Bill Clinton criticized Harris, saying if she had done her job properly Laken Riley might still be alive.
– Tim Walz admitted the other day that the last four years have been so bad that “we can’t have four more years of this” (his words).
– Walz then drove home his point by suggesting it would a bad idea for him to win because of his close association with school shooters.
On the rare occasions when they are not lying, Dems are saying things like the above, and for once I agree with them.
I surmise that few here actually dance.
A waltz is in 3/4 time, 3 beats to the measure. Richard Strauss II wrote many waltzes, ‘Beautiful Blue Danube’ being particularly well known.
The dance step for a waltz is called a box step: e.g. left forward, right out, feet together. Then the other foot first until you really know what you are doing and can twirl around the dance floor.
I encourage more ballroom dancing.
KAMALA HARRIS, “THE EMPTY SUIT DITZ,” IS UTERLY VACUOUS.
THE AMERICAN FOUNDERS ARE ROLLING OVER IN THEIR GRAVES AT THE THOUGHT OF A DOLT SUCH AS SHE BEING ANYTHING OTHER THAN DOG CATCHER.
Comrade Super RINO Bret Baier is the democrat’s pro-Kamala Harris October surprise.
Greg Gutfeld must do the Fox softball Kamala promotion.
* Anyone capable of ripping off and murdering Americans at about 30 trillion dollars deserves a promotion right to the top of the dung hill where the flies swarm.
The expecting is lies and not truth. There are arguments here and everywhere about free speech. There was a time when only truth was said but now the entertainment industry had to be creative . They had all that time on their hands.
* The expectations of people have become , i expect you to lie and not tell the truth. Only a boring person would tell the truth. Lies are more dangerous than bombs. The shrapnel will get you eventually like land mines do. Lies have a negative magic.
Happy belated Columbo day.
Turley–do you live under a rock, or just choose to be obtuse? Trump has said that he’s going to try to pull the broadcast licenses of ABC and CBS. In the case of ABC, it’s because they fact-checked him. In the case of CBS, it’s because he claims they “edited” an interview with Kamala Harris to make her look better. He also threatened to use the military to have arrested various people he considers to be his enemies. He’s now fully adopted Hitler’s “enemy of the people” trope in describing broadcasters and others who say things he doesn’t like.
You dare to call Tim Walz “a flagrant example of misinformation” when you are employed by one of the most-flagrant abusers of the truth? Fox constantly publishes Trump’s lies–the kind that actually hurt people, like the pet-eating Haitian lie, like the various lies about FEMA, like the BIG LIE, all of the lies about Kamala Harris, Tim Walz, Democrats, Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, etc–the list is too long.
What you are really doing, Turley, is selling your credentials to try to prop up the Fox lie machine, claiming that the Constitution does, and should, allow disinformation, malinformation and other abuses of the truth and trust of the American people under the rubric of “free speech”.
As to Elon Musk–from “Vanity Fair”, dateline 4/26/22:
“Like the employees of Twitter, who reportedly reacted to yesterday’s news with “shock and dismay,” a lot of people are not enthused about the idea of Elon Musk buying the social media network. But now, he is, and if you’re not familiar with the guy, or just think of him as the dude who sells electric cars and is really into space, you might be wondering why so many people are up in arms. And the answer is: He’s a huge jerk! Who regularly uses his massive platform and other sources of power to do bad things!
Online, those things have included:
Claiming in March 2020 that people worried about the coronavirus were “dumb”
Predicting on March 19, 2020, that the U.S. was going to have “close to zero new cases” by the end of April
Questioning the safety of the COVID-19 vaccines, and baselessly asserting that there were “quite a few negative reactions” to getting a second shot
Likening Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau to Hitler
Saying the U.S. government shouldn‘t provide subsidies to companies after receiving billions in subsidies from the U.S government
Using Twitter to engage in securities fraud
Tweeting, “Pronouns suck”
Tweeting misogynistic things at Senator Elizabeth Warren because she said he should pay more in taxes
Writing to Bernie Sanders, who also thinks the richest man in the world should pay more in taxes, “I keep forgetting that you’re still alive”
Tweeting dumb, sexist jokes
Tweeting a photo of Bill Gates and writing, “in case u need to lose a boner fast”
Tweeting in 2018 that Tesla factory workers could lose their stock options if they unionized
Baselessly accusing a British cave diver instrumental in rescuing a trapped football team of being a “pedo guy” because he, like others, said Musk’s idea to send in a submarine wouldn’t work
While off-line, and more consequentially:
Reopening a Tesla factory in violation of public health orders, where 450 cases were subsequently recorded
Running a company (Tesla) that was ordered to pay nearly $137 million to a former Black employee who said the company ignored repeated complaints that he was called the N-word and that his colleagues “had drawn swastikas and scratched a racial epithet in a bathroom stall and left drawings of derogatory caricatures of Black children around the factory.” (In a message to Tesla employees, a human resources executive downplayed the man’s allegations, noting he was a contractor, not a full-time staffer, and that other witnesses had said that while they heard racial slurs, they were used in a “friendly” manner. The H.R. executive added that the company was “not perfect” at the time of the incidents, and “is still not perfect,” but has “come a long way.”)
Running a company (Tesla), where a female worker said sexual harassment was “rampant,” alleging “nightmarish conditions” and a factory that “more resembles a crude, archaic construction site or frat house than a cutting-edge company in the heart of the progressive San Francisco Bay area.” (The company did not respond to multiple requests for comment from The Washington Post, which noted Tesla “does not typically respond to press inquiries.”)
Running a company (Tesla) that employees have called a “modern-day sweatshop” (In response, Telsa said it abided by California laws.)
Attempting to “destroy a Tesla whistleblower”
Reportedly exploding at “executives and lower-ranking workers” alike, and allegedly firing people who disagreed with him (Musk has denied allegations that he goes on firing sprees)
Announcing Tesla’s headquarters would move to Texas one month after the state effectively banned all abortions
Paying a private investigator $50,000 to dig up dirt on the cave diver he called “pedo guy”
This is all from 2022–long before he hooked up with Trump. Musk, like Vance and Trump, is a pathological liar and a*hole who sells his himself and his lies under the theory that he’s vastly wealthy and very successful and therefore, it’s OK to lie, insult and denigrate people.
NUTCHACHACHA IN FULL PANIC MODE!
Not at all!
Girly Girl is just pointing out that that freeloader Elon Musk (to use Elizabeth’s Warren’s words) has been frittering away his time this week capturing a 250 ton booster in mid air on the launch pad after it returned from space, sending a probe to Jupiter’s ocean satellite Europa and launching the 100th SpaceX Falcon 9 of 2024.
Of course, it’s only Tuesday so maybe Elon will do something to impress her before the week is over.
RICHEST, MOST BRILLIANT, AND MOST SUCCESSFUL MAN IN THE WORLD PUTS NUTCHACHACHA, THE NEEDY AND PARASITIC AFFIRMATIVE ACTION BENEFICIARY, IN FULL PANIC MODE!
IFIFY
Elon did none of these things— scientists did— you know, those scientists you MAGAs have been proselytized into disbelieving.
Actually, engineers did. Scientists study, engineers design.
What do you do? Anything?
“Elon did none of these things— scientists did . . .”
Right.
And Edison did none of his things because he, too, had scientists (and engineers). And Jobs did none of his things because he had scientists and engineers.
This election lays bare the Left’s ugly psychology: Kneecap greatness.
LOL. Oh no, firing people? LOL. I’m betting there’s a bunch of Federal workers (hey you, USDA) that are trembling at the prospect of having their merit evaluated. And to think, the dems have almost Baltimorized the entire Federal government… Queue the Lucy pulling the football away from Charlie Brown meme… Of course if the dems cheat again, err, win the election, maybe the whole nation can experience the democrat bureaucracy collapse they are so excellent at producing on local levels.
The left always projects, just read that driven from G.I.G.O., garbage in garbage out.
90% of the “federal government” is unconstitutional.
When the Founders and Framers wrote it, WELFARE meant fare well, or proceed well, not “free money” for leeches and parasites.
General Welfare means ALL, or the WHOLE, PROCEED WELL, which can only be a reference to BASIC INFRASTRUCTURE, such as police, fire, roads, water, post office, electricity, etc., that allows ALL to PROCEED WELL.
Article 1, Section 8, provides the power to Congress to tax ONLY for debt, defense, and general Welfare.
Article 1, Section 8, provides Congress the power to regulate ONLY the value of money, commerce, buying and selling, among nations, States, and Indian tribes, and land and naval Forces.
Enterprises and industries are free to self-regulate in order to preclude deleterious litigation.
A company being sued for discrimination places it snugly within the ranks of the Fortune 500.
https://www.justice.gov/crt/settlements-and-lawsuits
Defending a company against such lawsuits typically costs more legal expense than just settling them. This has been an American get rich method for decades. Beats the lottery.
It also includes anyone with a name in the public eye; the more famous the name, the more the lawsuit demands. Notice that in the case of that Tesla settlement, all of the stories repeat the same narrative, that the suit was based according to the employee’s allegations, and no where in any of the stories does it ever say that fellow employees or anything else, (like maybe security cameras located everywhere), ever confirmed the allegations with eye witness or video testimony.
Like the Bubba Wallace noose. To a carpenter, everything is a hammer. To a climate phobias, everything is about carbon, and so on.
* Gigeeeeek, you are a fire hose of lies. Lienado …remove the big ol mote first…
What you are really doing, Turley, is selling your credentials to try to prop up the Fox lie machine
Yooooo hoooooo… Gigi, The Fire Hose Of Lies Machine:
Just for old times sake, give us a few paragraphs of CNN’s “The Russia Dossier is verified intelligence agency evidence that Trump is colluding with Putin”.
Finish with a few bars of MSNBC and the rest “That laptop isn’t Hunter Biden’s – it’s Russian election disinformation”.
You must get some Walz-weird type of sexual gratification coming here to be mocked, ridiculed, laughed at, jeered, and pissed on as the back alley trash that you are.
Gigi,
been through much of this with you before.
Trump has said that something should be done about reporters and networks that publish garbage.
But as president he did not try to do anything.
Conversely democrats Engaged in massive censorship in 2020 and since.
Right now we have a commissioner in California thwarting SpaceX launches thgat NASA and the military want – because she does not like what Musk says.
Andrew McCarthy has an excellent peice on the election rigging done in 2020 by the FBI over the Hunter Biden laptop – someone here claims it has never been authenticated – as MacCarthy notes the FBI got it in Dec 2019 – authenticated thecontents within 2 weeks – this is based on FBI records via FOIA and then KNOWING that it was going to come out for the 2020 election, The IC – inside and outside govenrment got together and staged a disinformation election interferance operation to discredit the Hunter Biden story – a story they KNEW for 10 months prior to it coming out was true. MacCarthy also documents that Sen, Johnson and Grassley were independently working on Hunters illicit foreign dealings – and the FBI at the direction of Senate democrats improperly gave them a meaningless defensive breifing about Russian disinformation to Make they data they were getting from US Banks somehow look like Russian Disinformation.
It is ILLEGAL for the FBI or US intelligence communities to engage in US elections,
\
” In the case of CBS, it’s because he claims they “edited” an interview with Kamala Harris to make her look better.”
Trump did not claim that – it absolutely happened. Some of the video got out before the story ran and we can see how it was editied in multiple places. I would note that they did the same thing in Reverse to speaker Johnson who announced he will not go on CBS again unless the interview is live.
Do I need to search Youtube for video of democrats saying “enemy of the people” ?
“You dare to call Tim Walz “a flagrant example of misinformation””
Because he is.
“like the pet-eating Haitian lie”
Vance did an excellent job yesterday of dealing with the media trying to do the same as you are with this.
How many apartments taken over by Drug gangs is enough for you to report the story?
What matters – government officials saying it is not a problem ? Or the actual residents of apartments that had to move ?
You say the Haitians eating pets claim is a lie. The FACTis that Vance – and the police and local municipalities have received MANY allegations of haitians stealling pets and allegedly eating them.
Are you prepared to bet your life that every single allegation made by someone other than Trump is false ?
If not – then you should not be calling anyone a liar over this.
“like the various lies about FEMA”
What lies ? They wasted nearly a billion on illegal immigrants, They said they had enough money in July, now they say they don’t.
They interfered with others trying to deliver help in NC – and stopped after Musk publicized they were interfering with Starlink.
“all of the lies about Kamala Harris”
What lies about Harris ?
Trump is happy to have Harris talk as much as she wants.
He is so happy that he is producing campaign adds that are just Harris in her own words.
“Tim Walz”
What lies about Walz ?
Walz was supposed to be a super good choice, Vance a super bad one – Vance is doing great – Walz is a disaster.
He tried to go Pheasant hunting and could not manage his own shotgun – one that HE OWNS. This resulted in Youtube video of “girls with Guns” – blasting away rapid fire with HIS GUN t show him how to use it.
Walz purportedly spent 24 years in the military – he is supposed to know something about Guns.
Vance wiped the floor with him in the VP debate.
He is proving an embarassing mistake for Democrats and for Harris – her most important choice todate has been a disaster,
meanwhile Trump’s supposed bad choice is eating top reporters for breakfast lunch and dinner.
“Democrats”
What has Trump lied about Democrats ?
“Nancy Pelosi”
Really you want to defend Pelosi ?
“Hillary Clinton”
You want to defend Hillary ?
And you are stupid enough to piss all over Musk.
Today one of Musks Falcon 9 Heavy rockets just sent an a NASA mission to Europa. NASA can not do that.
And the Falcon 9 Heavy is not even Close to Musks most powerful Rocket.
Musk has brought to cost of space travel down by a factor of 1000 – this means many many many things in space are far more affordable.
California has spent massive numbers of Billions on high speed rail that will never b completely.
Musk i spending his own money on hyperloop and is making steady progress in TX and CA
Even if Hyperloop does not work – and when has Musk failed, Musk has reduced the cost of drilling tunnels by a factor of 1000 and increased the speed.
He has put millions of electric cars on the road.
And all you can come up with is “he is a jerk” from some idiot at Vanity Fair ?
Please name ANYONE in the media who has done a fraction of what Musk has for the country ?
What are the bad things Musk is doing ? Saying things you do not like ?
Letting others say things you do not like.
“Claiming in March 2020 that people worried about the coronavirus were “dumb””
Pelosi actually did a video saying exactly the same thing.
“Questioning the safety of the COVID-19 vaccines,”
You do actually grasp that But for Trump we likely STILL would not have the covid vaccine ?
“asserting that there were “quite a few negative reactions” to getting a second shot”
Please follow along – the Covid 19 vaccine has LOTS of adverse reactions – some of which have been fatal.
There are many many people who favored the vaccine initially who now beleive only a few people should be getting it.
I think we learned alot from the Covid 19 vaccine – and I think MRNA vaccines will likely be a big deal in the future.
But the covid vaccine has proven to be a poor vaccine,
“Likening Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau to Hitler”
Trudeau is not Hilter – but he is a massive disaster, and he is likely gone.
“Saying the U.S. government shouldn‘t provide subsidies to companies after receiving billions in subsidies from the U.S government”
I say exactly the same thing – while going after government grants and funding.
Just becausegovernment should NOT do something does not mean that when it does anyway you should not try to get some of your tax money back.
“Using Twitter to engage in securities fraud”
ROFL
“Tweeting, “Pronouns suck””
Good for him.
“Tweeting misogynistic things at Senator Elizabeth Warren because she said he should pay more in taxes”
Musk pays 1000 times more in taxes each year than Elizabeth Warren has earned in her entire life.
“Writing to Bernie Sanders, who also thinks the richest man in the world should pay more in taxes, “I keep forgetting that you’re still alive””
Sanders – another wealthy socialist that wants to confiscate OTHER rich peoples money.
“Tweeting dumb, sexist jokes:”:
Good fo rhim. We need more humor.
“Tweeting in 2018 that Tesla factory workers could lose their stock options if they unionized”
And they likely will.
“Reopening a Tesla factory in violation of public health orders, where 450 cases were subsequently recorded”
Has anyone died ?
“Running a company (Tesla) that was ordered to pay nearly $137 million to a former Black employee who said the company ignored repeated complaints that he was called the N-word and that his colleagues “had drawn swastikas and scratched a racial epithet in a bathroom stall and left drawings of derogatory caricatures of Black children around the factory.””
And you beleive that happens anywhere today ? Regardless, even if it actually did happen and is not more of this Jusse Smollett nonsense.
No the man should not get 137M – he should not get anything – if your feelings are hurt – go elsewhere.
” (In a message to Tesla employees, a human resources executive downplayed the man’s allegations, noting he was a contractor, not a full-time staffer, and that other witnesses had said that while they heard racial slurs, they were used in a “friendly” manner. The H.R. executive added that the company was “not perfect” at the time of the incidents, and “is still not perfect,” but has “come a long way.”)”
Do you know the difference between a contractor and an employee – clearly you don’t.
“Running a company (Tesla), where a female worker said sexual harassment was “rampant,” alleging “nightmarish conditions” and a factory that “more resembles a crude, archaic construction site or frat house than a cutting-edge company in the heart of the progressive San Francisco Bay area.” (The company did not respond to multiple requests for comment from The Washington Post, which noted Tesla “does not typically respond to press inquiries.”)”
Gigi, Tesla is affordably producing electric cars that people want. While I do not beleive idiotic stuff you are claiming – if by some miracle it were true SO WHAT ?
If you do not like conditions where you work – GO ELSEWHERE.
There is no right to a job.
A free market is where the buyer and the seller are BOTH free to trade value for value OR NOT.
There are people I will not do business with. These people unhappy with Tesla should go where they are happy.
Or start their own company and run it their way.
All we have is a long list of whining from you about someone who has actually made the world far better each day – that you will in your entire life.
“Running a company (Tesla) that employees have called a “modern-day sweatshop” (In response, Telsa said it abided by California laws.)
Attempting to “destroy a Tesla whistleblower””
Sol don’t work there.
“Reportedly exploding at “executives and lower-ranking workers” alike, and allegedly firing people who disagreed with him (Musk has denied allegations that he goes on firing sprees)”
I hope he goes on firing sprees. If you want people to perform – you reward success and punish failure.
“Announcing Tesla’s headquarters would move to Texas one month after the state effectively banned all abortions”
That has to do with the fact that California is an increasingly abysmal place to have a business.
“Paying a private investigator $50,000 to dig up dirt on the cave diver he called “pedo guy””
I am sure theprivate investigator is happy.
Hiring private inveestigators is legal.
“This is all from 2022–long before he hooked up with Trump.”
you seem to think that you are free to tell other people how to run their lives and their businesses.
Can you get a satelite to Europa ? Musk can. And that is just today.
Yesterday he caught a 200Ton rocket with chopsticks.
” Musk, like Vance and Trump, is a pathological liar and a*hole who sells his himself and his lies under the theory that he’s vastly wealthy and very successful and therefore, it’s OK to lie, insult and denigrate people.”
People are not magically successful. They are successful because of who they are. That is true of Vance and Musk and Trump.
You and everyone else is free to work for them or not. To buy their products – or not.
you have alot of complaints about Musk, Vance, Trump, ….
So do not buy anything they make and do not work for them.
it is all that easy.
You do not have the right to tell them what to do.
They have not tried to tell you want to do.
They have offered you goods and services – your free to buy or not.
If they offered you a job – you can take it or not.
That is he extent to which you can dictate the conduct of others.
It is unfortunate that Musk can not be the president.
It is unfortunate that Musk can not be the president.
Despite the fact he was born to a mother with American citizenship, who herself was born to an American father, at the time of his birth?
Well, George would certainly approve of that view.
* Religion, practice of, speech, press, assemble, redress. Two qualifiers: shall, peaceable.
The carve outs in speech such as defamation, perjury and many others are about false witness, lies. Lies refute known truth. This adds the man-made qualifier “malice”. Half truth or deceptions are lies.
Clinton with the meaning of is is , is deception. He meant to deceive. He’s a known liar. The standard is lie or truth and the 1st covers only speech and press when a lie is unknown by the giver. That’s all you need.
One must question whether Walz knows, understands, has the aptitude to understand lies and truth. He’s just boob.
The carve outs in speech such as defamation, perjury and many others are about false witness, lies.
Many are, but many are not. For example, terroristic threats, incitement to imminent violence, and copyright infringement. The latter does not necessarily embody the lie of passing off. Someone could be up front about who the author is, and still be validly sued or prosecuted for infringement if they copy, perform, or distribute a work of authorship without license to do so.
* Threats are not attempts. A threat is a lie unless carried out. Theft enters into property. Lies and theft…lies and robbery.
* threats really aren’t peaceable…
* Then there’s the inexplicable events that are acts of God or nature or something unseen. The glasses dropped in the gutter at the Mezzaluna restaurant creating a visit by the murdered Ron Goldman. Coincidence?
* Truth isn’t regarded as a good idea now. Look at all can be gotten with lies. Lies must be good and truth is just foolish if it doesn’t produce a benefit. That’s what it is now. The carve outs are for prosecution. Other lies cannot be prosecuted. Unprosecuted lies remain refutations of truth and remain dangerous.
People should realize there’s many walking the earth, liars, just like Simpson found himself entangled in and the two victims. Those glasses are deeply disturbing.
* Yes, the writers of the 1st A thought lies required protection nevermind many were ministers. We must protect the lies as they pounded the tables. That’s it. Finally the people understand the founders meant to protect lies and due process was meant to protect criminals all along.
Now we understand.
Word is out that Kamala plagiarized for the book that advanced her career, even from Wikipedia.
Now there are claims she also plagiarized from Martin Luther King.

That’s funny because MLK himself plagiarized [stole] from other writers for large parts of his work.
Integrity is dead.
Besides Claudine Gay, there are a slew of other DEI academics who have been caught stealing the work of others. Easier and less sweaty than looting a train, I suppose, but the same category of behavior.
