Below is my column in Fox.com on the rising rage in this election. This week, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul added her voice to the rage and said that anyone voting for Trump is “anti American.” Despite such statements, I found a reason to be hopeful in a brief encounter on my way to New York for the election coverage.
Here is the column:
When President Joe Biden took the podium in his hometown of Scranton, Pa., to campaign for Vice President Kamala Harris, many expected a return to the “self-professed unifier” Biden from the 2020 election, particularly after his recent comments calling tens of millions of Trump supporters “garbage.” If so, they were disappointed when it turned out to be the “take him behind the Gym” Biden. Speaking through clenched teeth, Biden seethed that he wanted to “smack [Trump] in the ass.” Even with the Harris campaign alarmed over his costly gaffes, Biden clearly could not resist the rage. He is not alone.
This entire election seems to be a type of political roid rage. In my book, “The Indispensable Right: Free Speech in an Age of Rage,” I discuss how rage rhetoric and rage politics have long been part of our history. Politicians will often intentionally trigger rage to rally voters not in support of their policies but in opposition to their opponents.
However, Biden’s seeming inability to keep his rage in check is a common feature of this rage politics. As I wrote in the book, “rage is liberating, even addictive. It allows us to say and do things that we would ordinarily avoid, even denounce in others.” It is also contagious. Across the country, people are yelling at neighbors, tearing down signs, and even assaulting each other. What they are unwilling to admit is that they enjoy the rage. They like it.
As someone who has written about rage rhetoric and covered presidential elections for over two decades for different networks, I should be accustomed to these scenes. I am not. From the scenes outside of the Trump trial in Manhattan to the scenes outside of political rallies in Virginia, I find the rage depressing and deflating.
However, in flying to New York this weekend to join the Fox election coverage, I had a moment of real hope. I was driven to the airport by a man who told me that he was just months from his citizenship and how he and his wife were so thankful to soon be U.S. citizens. He came from a Middle Eastern nation where he long admired the United States for its freedoms, particularly the freedom of speech. Indeed, in his home country, he constantly ran into trouble with his government and was warned by his imam that he had to stop acting “like an American” by speaking his mind.
He could not shut up, so he decided to become an American instead.
He then told me how confused he and his wife are by this election. They love the United States and cannot understand why people are so hateful and angry. “It is like they do not understand what they have here,” he noted.
Listening to him over the course of our ride, I started to feel something that I had not felt in a while: real hope.
Sometimes, our truest citizens are found among our newest converts. As I discuss in my book, the problem with our democracy is that most citizens grew up in a nation where basic rights like the freedom of speech are guaranteed. They have never known the absence of such rights. This man and his wife have. They were not born here. They had to escape their country at great peril and cost to become U.S. citizens. They chose us and what we stand for.
They follow other great Americans drawn to these shores by something unique about this country. One was Tom Paine. The man who was credited with rallying a nation behind a revolution only landed upon these shores two years before the Declaration of Independence. His rocketing to fame with the publication of Common Sense enraged some, like John Adams, who viewed him as an unkempt, unknown rabble-rouser.
Yet, it was precisely Paine’s immigration that gave his words such clarity and power. He saw this emerging nation as unique for all of humanity, a nation where citizens could live free without the calcified social, economic, and political limits of the Old World. His voice resonated with this nation because it was so genuine and authentic.
I heard that same voice on my way to the airport. Sometimes, it takes the newest among us to remind us who we are to not only the rest of the world but also to each other.
I do not know what is coming out of that gate on election night. I have been there before. However, half of this country is going to be very, very upset either way this goes. What we need to struggle to remember is that this election does not define us. The rage does not define us. We defined ourselves almost 250 years ago and do so every day that new citizens like my new friend come to these shores. There is hope in who we are . . . even if we forget sometimes.

Zero Hedge makes a great point.

Very interesting.
Why was the Democrat vote in 2020 way higher than other years ?
Could be Covid, could be fraud, could be both.
Better Midler promised to drink Draino if Trump won.
Can we watch?
Democrats need to figure out why they lost and fix it,
Not drink Drano or move to Canada – Where Trudeau is in deep $hit and it is conservatives that win the popular vote, but NOT the Canadian equivalent of the EC.
I would note the same is true in England. Where lbor absolutely dominates the government without winning even close to a majority of the vote.
All of us have a fascination regarding this election and what it means.
We are all free to speculate analyse and try to understand.
But the responsibility for fixing the democratic party rests with Democrats. Not the rest of us.
“Not drink Drano or move to Canada ”
The Draino drinking thing is hyperbole, and would probably overwhelm funeral directors anyway… But why do you object to Dems moving en masse to Canada? Their current crop isn’t productive in any way, shape, or form. They don’t produce significant private sector value, they strongly tend to eat up more taxes than they pay, and they obviously have no common sense or morality when it comes to society. Sounds like their emigration to the Great Socialist North would be a win-win-win for the rest of us.
“Better Midler promised to drink Draino if Trump won”
Couldn’t hurt her voice any…
I wonder what kind of day Eric Endicott and his daughter Liz are having?
One relief with the world teetering on the precipice, no more 4 star drag queen generals or DEI officers.
* AND –> NO MORE KJP.
THERE IS A GOD!
While she has obviously been still there – we have seen very little of KJP since the switcheroo.
She is irrelevant.
Round up that ——- Milley!
I hear the A-listers are threatening to leave again. Just leave.
Ass blisters?
The cockroaches broke out for what “fundamentally transformed” into an embarrassing and total smack-down!
Your welfare state, affirmative action, “free stuff,” “free status” feeding frenzy is over.
It’s all freedom and self-reliance now.
The coast is clear. Ya’all don’t need your fraudulent “asylum” anymore. You can all safely return to your countries of origin now.
Buh-bye!
Trump played the game depending on pushing his numbers up and less on securing the vote, which limited the Democrats from stealing the presidential election. However, in local areas, whatever cheating occurred has to be carefully evaluated with intensive study of cheating that may have turned the election of House members. If so, these elections must be pursued and reversed if a Democrat victory was due to fraud.
The longer-term focus has to be on stopping further Democrat cheating by improving our election process with voter ID, voting at the precinct, etc.
The more extended focus must be managing the media, which involves the general public and needs to turn to alternative media as a supplement or multiple ones for their primary source. The MSM needs to be reduced as institutions to the size of non-MSM outlets
S. Meyer,
I think the voting integrity is going to become a bigger issue as the majority of Americans to include Democrats want some kind of voter ID or other means to ensure a fair and secure election. If the DNC does not listen they may find themselves on the wrong side of their voters.
As for MSM, as I noted to Estovir earlier, a number of people within MSM said a Trump win is a loss for MSM and possibly the end of MSM as we know it. Again, I am of the opinion MSM was already dying as more and more people flock to alternative media with good cause. People are tired of a grossly biased, lying, gaslighting MSM.
Upstate, don’t count the MSM out. They are severely weakened and losing out to other media sources, but there are many big players who want the MSM media to remain. Members on this blog, with the exception of the trolls, are interested in various sources of information, but the average person isn’t so involved, so they look for a fast and easy way to get their news. The MSM is their way.
S. Meyer,
I beg to differ. Recent polling shows more people are turning to social media for their news. It maybe linked to MSM but MSM is not getting the revenue from advertising like they used to from on air ads. Unless they are owned by someone like Bezos to take the $200m loss every year, their audience will continue to grow smaller and smaller. And, as I am reading about reactions from MSM, like they are now claiming Blacks and Hispanics are both racists and sexist, they are insulting and alienating them all the more so. Not exactly a good way to keep your audience by beating them up again and again. Kinda like the DNC, Obama, Clinton have done.
The MSM is subject to the discipline of the free market.
The election is a sign to advertisers that the people are not paying attention to the MSM.
I do not think anything needs to be done.
We will see more and more of Bezos and others saying – you can do whatever you want if you can make money.
If you can’t – your doing whatever I want.
“The election is a sign to advertisers that the people are not paying attention to the MSM.”
A better way of saying that is that people are not paying AS MUCH attention to the MSM, but people still are, as do many of the elite class, which has lots of money. The airways exist and will not disappear so that someone will be there. The MSM will move toward the center, but leftist and globalist sympathies will exist as long as the elite class desires.
@Upstate @ S. Meyer
I think so too. This is why I love the popular numbers – this IS democracy. One can’t really dispute them, and they show unequivocally that progressive dems are, indeed, a minority in this country. They are like teenagers that were given the keys to the car, crashed it, and now the keys have been taken away. We are not going to be silenced anymore, and I hope we never make that mistake again.
I really feel for people in Western Europe having to deal with the kind of fascism that is brewing unabated there. I am feeling a pride in my country I haven’t experienced since pre-George W. You’d think warmongering neocons like the Cheney’s allying themselves with the modern DNC would have been a wake up call for many, but it is what it is. 🤷🏻♂️
SM
There is always some election fraud – that is one thing that we must get past those on the left.
You can not just conduct elections as you please and presume that no fraud will occur.
To the extent Republicans are less inclined to commit Fraud, the difference is small.
While I think Democrats commit significantly more fraud – even against each other in primaries,
That is because of demographics not moral superiority.
Democrat are clustered in large urban districts, Precints are much larger and the ease with which fraud can be committed is greater.
Incentives matter. $16B was spent on elections this year. Trillions of government contracts will be decided based on the winners.
Only an idiot believes that the impetus for Fraud is not there.
I do not beleive there was much systemic fraud in this election.
But the primary reason was because Trump’s campaign strategy made it more difficult.
By acheiving near parity in early voting, that made it much harder to slip in 100K aditional ballots at the last minute.
The other Huge deal was that public pressure – as much as Trump to get all the votes counted on Election night made Fraud harder.
Again it is easier to sneak in the additional ballots you need if you have several days to do it.
Another major fraud limiting factor was the polls.
Polls were off +7 for Biden in 2020 – again when people are expecting Biden to get millions of votes more than Trump,
it is easier to slip a 100K hear and their extra in when you KNOW the race is much tighter than the polls say.
Trump appears to have won the popular vote by almost 3pct. That makes urban fraud harder.
Trump was a tiny bit ahead in the polls through election week. That makes injecting democrat ballots harder.
Trump also campaigned in places he was going to lose – like California – to bring up his share of the popular vote.
He campaigned in places like NJ, NY, VA – again stretching Harris and bringing up the popular vote.
I beleive there was about 800K ballots worth of Fraud spread over 6 states in 2020. PA still has nearly 200K ballots in 2020 that it has no record of a person voting, and nearly all of those are in Philadelphia.
Another major fraud reducing factor is that from my understanding so far – not only did Trump do well with Black men, But urban black turnout was DOWN.
If you are going to slip 100K additional ballots into a big city – you need millions of mailing ballots to do it.
Way fewer democrats voted by mail in 2024 – and that reduces the scale of any fraud you can arrange.
Zuckerberg did NOT put 500M into taking over the election machinery in 6 or 7 big cities.
While I do not beleive that Zuckerberg or his people committed fraud – they absolutely enabled it.
Next – since 2020 Republicans through legislation and through courts have closed many oportunities for Fraud.
Our elections are NOT as secure as before 2020, but they are far more secure than 2020.
There is alot of work left to do. Mailin voting MUST go. It can not be secured and it provides far too much oportunity for Fraud.
Merely having blank ballots outside the control of election officials is a gigantic oportunity for Fraud.
I would furtheer note that though the courts were not friendly to Republicans in 2024 – they were far less hostile.
The PA supreme court which fell all over itself creating the oportunity for fraud in 2020, reversed itself on about half the nonsense it allowed in 2020.
It should have done so 100% of the time – but every door closed makes large scale fraud harder.
Finally the biggest impediment to fraud is sunlight.
Everyone was watching. There were court fights over people setting up “trail cams” on unattended ballot boxes.
Just KNOWING that people were watching makes fraud less likely.
We need a better system in the future – we can not count on 10’s of thousands of people to be watching everything eagle eye for every election in the future.
The most important long term antifraud measures are KISS – Keep It simple stupid.
There are blue states that vote entirely by mail. That can not be fixed without a constitutional amendment – either state or federal.
Further a state that votes entirely by mail – though still a potential for fraud, is more secure than a state with vote by mail, early voting absentee voting and
in person on election day voting.
Actual absentee voting – where the voter must come to a poll or county office to vote and their vote is then sealed until election day, is almost as secure as inperson voting at the pols.
The most important antifraud measure is preventing ballots from ever leaving the direct oversight of election officials.
That is NOT because election officials are great paragons of virtue – they are not.
It is because so long as they always have oversight – all fraud requires their complicity and everyone knows it.
Costco checks reciepts at the door – not because costco shopers are shoplifters.
But because Costco staff no that if merchandise can not go out the front door – then it can not go out the back door either.
If shoplifting is impossible, then all instore losses MUST be employees. Therefore there is far less pilfering by employees.
The more complicated you make voting the easier it is for those culpable for fraud to point elsewhere.
John Say,
Great assessment!
Thank You.
I have my personal opinion on how elections should be conducted.
I would make it as hard as possible to vote without doing so in a partisan fashion.
I want those unwilling to do the work to stay home.
We KNOW as a matter of FACT that people make absymally bad decisions when they do not have “skin in the game”.
This is why those in govenrment do such an absysmal job regulating.
This is why “esperts” in ivory towers of academia and government has such a poor track record.
It is why ordinary people with no expertise tend to make better decisions that “experts” so long as THEY will gain the benefits or suffer the consequences of their own decisions.
If we want people to make good choices in voting. we need to make voting HARD.
But that argument is extra constitutional – the constitution does not mostly speak on the difficulty of voting.
The 2nd issue which the declaration of independence could not be clearer about and which this election reflects,
is that elections MUST be conducted such that people TRUST them.
IF people do not trust elections then govenrment is not legitimate.
The goal is TRUST – election integrity is the MEANS not the END.
The convenience of voters is irrelevant if the result is an election people do not trust.
I would note that FRAUD is only ONE facet of TRUST.
MI, WI. PA, GA finally completed enough vote gounding to project the winner in MOST races – but they are STILL not done.
NV is 82% through counting and AZ is 62%.
That is NOT acceptable.
The longer it takes the less reason people should TRUST results.
Separately most everywhere, and in every election we have tales of complete incompetence great and small.
Not only must elections be counted quickly – the process must be accurate.
We should NOT have court cases over counting late ballots – there shoudl be no late ballots.
We should not have court cases over missing chain of custody information, every single ballot should be traceable ever step in its process.
Mistakes happen is NOT acceptable.
Good enough is not acceptable.
In manufacturing producers are excepted to meet 6 sigma – that is approx 3 defects in a million.
A clean simple election process can actually meet that same 6 sigma goal – and that results in TRUST.
1% margins of error are NOT good enough. 0.01% is not good enough.
* Most likely least fraud due to the realization of the FELONIES , FINES AND JAIL was made clear. That fraud is still there but the avoidance of using the USPS postage paid avoided additional felonies. MAIL- IN not DROP-IN , DROP-OFF ballots.
Absurd system and btw in the USA there are neighborhood polling places generally at churches and there are no long lines.
Ridiculous
Much of what you say is true in rural and most suburban areas but we see long lines at many urban polls.
One of the reasons is corruption in cities.
If you consolidate – centralize, you reduce government cost at the expense of the voters.
few Large precincts means long lines.
Centralized counting means larger lucrative contracts for voting equipment vendors.
Government prefers centralization.
That is corrupt – though not in the way most people think of.
I would recomend looking at public choice economics. Which is essentially why the same incentives produce good results in the free market and bad ones in government.
A trivial example would be parking.
If you go to a grocery store – customers have free parking. And it is as close to the store as can be arranged.
Employees park in the back or in the far reaches of the parking lot. Even the managers at best have preference over other employees – NOT customers.
The go to a govenrment office – the “bosses” get primo spaces in front. Employees usually get free parking and “customers” have to fight for paid parking often at a distance.
For voting – precincts accross the US should be SMALL – all the same size in terms of number of registered voters. They should have identical small staff, identical small equipment. dealing with identical numbers of voters. Blank ballots should be dropped off by armoured car, like money, and never leave the precinct until the vote is certified and all challenges exhausted. Counting should be done in precinct.
This does not eliminate fraud. But it makes “systemic Fraud” far more difficult.
Systemic fraud is far more dangerous than small levels of individual fraud.
I noted the problems with error in a prior post.
Reducing error is important – but even more important is assuring that all error is truly random and therefore balances.
Turley noted that election contests rarely succeed – though they always find problems.
This is because actually random error tends to balance. Even “partisan” error, tends to balance – if conditions are the same left and right.
If everyone votes the same way, in precincts of the same size counted the same way, then even small scale fraud or partisan error will balance.
Even error by unconscious bias will balance.
But if you have 100 precints dealing with 15,000 ballots each and 1 counting fascilty dealing with 1.5M ballots. errors – even errors from unconscious bias will not cancel.
The internet is a good design model of sorts to consider for voting.
It was intended as a gigantic mesh – web that you could poke giant holes in and it would still work.
It was designed to work through a nuclear war.
elections shoudl be a web where the size of the nodes is such that error, even fraud must be small.
Presently, the Presidential and Senate races are probably not going to be protested. The number of votes for these positions is large, but for the House, the numbers are smaller and therefore, fraud may turn the election. The House is important. GOP, don’t take your eyes off the ball.
DC voted close to 100% for Kamala.
Trump was right. With DC judges and DC jurors it is nearly impossible to get a fair trial in DC.
Federal courts are courts of limited jurisdiction. Their jurisdiction is set by Congress. Time for Congress to strip DC courts of much of their subject matter jurisdiction. Or they could be abolished altogether. The only federal court required by the Constitution is the Supreme Court. All others exist only at the pleasure of Congress. Time past for Congress and the people to be displeased with the radical DC courts. Shrink them or eliminate them.
As for the Deep State, time to scatter the federal agencies and dwindle them. Maybe FBI and CIA can be across the street from each other in Pt. Bartow, Alaska. They like polar bears, don’t they? Department of Education can go there too.
Including the Departments of Education, Agriculture, Energy, Environmental Protection, HUD, HHS, Labor, Transpiration, Homeland Security, Social Security, Medicare, and every other department and agency for which there is no discernible legal basis in the Constitution, Article 1, Section 8, and elsewhere.
Just return most of DC to Maryland and VA
Yes! As a municipality it is a disgusting, unsafe mess.
“I AM UNBURDENED BY WHAT HAS BEEN!”
Approx 67 million votes for Harris today makes it even more implausible Biden received 81 million four years ago.
No, it is consistent with her losing due to less votes. Had she won the numbers Biden won, she would have won the election.
Of course she lost due to less votes. Duh,
The question is whether she lost due to less legitimate votes or less fraudulent ones.
* approx 20 million fraudulent votes 2020
JAFO, good point. I agree.
For me, Joy cameth in the Morning ! 🙂
Viva La Trump!
Like Hamas replenishing their supplies to prepare for future attacks on Israel, the DNC/MSM will continue their terrorist attacks on Americans, and grow the toxic society they created. To wit:
Trump Has Humiliated His Foes
– Politico, Editor in Chief, John Harris
What is now a central part of this character is what I have called the Contempt Paradox: People are drawn to Trump and the contempt he expresses toward his opponents, especially liberal politicians and the news media, precisely because of the contempt he draws in return. This is the through line of his politics.
The implications are stark. For a significant portion of his supporters, he didn’t win in 2016 in spite of his notorious remark to Access Hollywood about grabbing women by their private parts, or in 2024 in spite of his election denialism. He won in some measure because of these things — and the indignation they inspired
https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2024/11/06/donald-trump-election-humiliated-his-foes-00187812
I wrote a few weeks ago that the notion of mea culpa and humility before God, as lived by Presidents from George Washington to Abraham Lincoln, were no longer a trait of the American psyche. This Politico piece from John Harris, Politico co-founder / editor in chief, friend and book co-author with Mark Halperin, (Halperin is a confirmed sexual assaulter of many women), and author of the book, The Survivor: Bill Clinton in the White House, shows no introspection, no sense of personal culpability for 2/3 voters believing America is headed in the wrong direction. He gives Bill Clinton and Mark Halperin for sexual assaulting women but harps on Trump’s “grab them” comment. It is more of the same Tomas de Torquemada’s, accuse everyone of anathema then burn them at the stake.
The DNC / MSM have lost:
White House
US Senate
SCOTUS
Popular vote
Electoral College
likely US House
but their current take on their humiliating losses is to write / speak condescendingly of Americans.
The DNC / MSM have no intent in ceding to US Democracy anymore than Hamas ceding to their repeated annihilation by Israel. Nothing has changed in their mind. Get ready for more of the same. Its already happening.
Estovir,
I would only argue that as others have noted, a Trump win means MSM is lost. Like, possibly for good. I am of the opinion MSM was already dying as Americans have lost faith and trust in MSM and are flocking to alternative media with good cause. I agree with your overall assessment.
@Upstate @Estovir
Very much agreed, and they made their own beds when they decided to become apparatchiks. They, or at least large swaths of what constitute them, can never walk back the sheer dishonesty and madness of the past decade, no way. That goose is cooked, and we proved it yesterday.
And as an aside, another poster expressed that Kamala’s 67 mil make it almost certain the Biden’s ‘historic victory’ numbers were complete fabrication. Just think: if they had let Trump win four years ago he’d be done, and they might not have lost the senate. These people are ignorant, narcissistic, and insane. The modern DNC is going to have no choice but to fracture and kick the Marxists to the curb if they wish to remain relevant, I hope these mythical ‘moderate dems’ we keep hearing about find their courage. Let the loonies form their own party if they must.
God (or whatever one believes in) bless Musk, our 1A, and our 2A. 👍🏼
God bless the people of this nation, whose wisdom shines brightly. We now move a step closer to a post-racial meritocracy, the first in the long history of mankind. Woke multiculturalism has now been swept into the dustbin of history. I listened to the change of tone on MSNBC and CNN, where thought leaders are processing the memo, while the more defensive proggies are in refusing to process.
If you mock a man for wanting resources to fight for the freedom that you take for granted, then you cheapen the freedom that you celebrate each 4th of July.

Stick market’s been making new highs for months now. And the dollar started to crash about nine pm last night, signaling a reverb higher off the 3% it’s come down to in recent months.
OT but related new, it appears the search on Google “Move to Canada” is trending. Now, if they only will make it a reality.
They might want to rethink that. The little delinquent up there isn’t fairing so well.
https://www.politico.com/news/2024/10/22/trudeau-political-future-00184927
The left is not fairing well anywhere in the west.
Where are the trolls who kept saying Kamala was going to win in a landslide because the one thing the American people care most about is for pregnant mothers to kill their babies?
* How incredibly stupid was that argument that what women care about most is? Stand back and fully understand the caliber of brain cells that thinks that and then fully grasp the reality that they are still here…
Fully grasp Gretchen Witmer is a governor in some sinkhole via a Stargate… doritos anyone?
Well, well…, looks like I had a wee bit too much faith in my species. I was definitely wrong about this election.
Only redeeming quality about this election is that it clearly draws the lines. We’re already in the midst of our next Civil war…., it’s been going on for a good long while online as evidenced here every day.
At least people like me get to see up close and personal that the hopes I’ve had for the nation are long dead. If there is a relief in the realization that this nation is mimicking the advent of Nazi Germany, it’s that the stakes are clear and there’s no use pretending differently.
The left always projects.
The “relief in the realization that this nation is mimicking the advent of Nazi Germany” is that last night today’s Nazi party equivalent lost a major national election.
Whether or not this country descends into civil war begins in your own mind. Do you want one? If not, start wresting control over your thoughts, expectations, and project in public commentary that which you WANT to see happen. Enough doomsday, negative thinking.
It’s already here.
ATS,
Ignoring the recriminations inside the democratic party, that are looking to blame strategy and tactics – as if a different add or a different candidate might have made a difference.
The FACT is you did this to yourselves.
Most of the exit polls have face on demographics.
But some have looked at issues.
Possibly the largest issue was “the left has gone too far”.
Whether it is sexualizing children as young as preschool or genitally mutilating teens or men in womens sports, or any of the other culture war issues.
Aparently on one podcast Harris told the host something equivalent to she would FORCE doctors to perform abortions even if it was against their beleifs.
This went over horribly among catholics. The Catholic vote swung Trumps way dramatically since 2012., bu over 20pts.
Blowing off the Al Smith dinner was also a mistake.
Abortion did not work as well as the left hoped – I have not checked them today – but last night most referendums seeking more restrictions on abortions failed, and most seeking less succeeded. The party claiming that democracy was at stake lost to direct democracy – Women voted in referendums to protect abortion rights, and then voted for Trump and other republicans. Put simply Dobbs worked exactly as it should have and the issue of abortion is in the hands of the people – not the political parties.
All the lawfare backfired. Voters decided that democrats not Trump or Republicans were the actual threat to democracy. They did NOT by the fascist Nazi nonsense you are selling.
They KNOW who the aspiring fascists are – murdering Peanut right before the election did not help.
The next really big factor was that voters picked Biden in 2020 because he was very close to a blue dog democrat – he had a long history of working across the aisles, he promised to unite the country, he promised a quiet caretaker presidency. Whether because he was senile or just because he was a liar – none of that proved true. The Biden presidency was a highly left leaning activist presidency – even more so than Obama. Voters rejected 8 more years of Obama when they rejected Clinton in 2016.
Replacing Biden with Harris did not help – it obliterated Democrats claims to be guardians of democracy, and there was zero possibility Harris could ever persuade voters that she was a true moderate and unifier. Basically Harris and democrats were victims of the lie democrats told about Biden in 2020.
The democratic party was sent a message in 2016 – You are too far left. They failed to heed that message.
Democrat leaders grasped that the only candidate in the 2020 primaries that was not to far left for the country was Biden, and they
covered up all his flaws forced other candidates out of the election, and sold him as a moderate and unifier.
But it was all a LIE – and what you saw last night was an angry electorate tired of being lied to by democrats and the press.
You did this to yourself.
It is incorrect to say the country is moving right – the current GOP is NOT the GOP of the 20th century.
Both parties have been changing in the past 25 years. The republican party mostly been changing in ways to attract the majority of americans – pro-middle class, pro-working class.
While the democratic party has been moving left.
Ultimately the democratic party will adapt – there have been very few periods of sustained one party rule in this country.
The question will be whether Democrats lose the entire working class and most minorities before they see the error of their ways.
Dow futures surging. Gas soon to be down $1/gallon. America’s energy producers soon to be unleashed. Government regulators updating their CV’s. Americans able to keep more of what they earn. NATO countries scrambling to pay their past due bills. Mullahs in Iran quaking in their medieval boots. Israelis sleeping more peacefully.
It’s a bright morning and future.
