Poll: Only 2 Out of 10 Americans Support the Hunter Biden Pardon

As Democratic politicians and pundits rush to defend President Joe Biden’s unethical pardon of his son, Hunter, the public is expressing overwhelming opposition to his abuse of office. The latest poll, by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, found that only two out of ten Americans support the pardon despite weeks of media spin.

The poll shows that Biden is no longer even garnering a majority among Democrats. Only 38 percent support the pardon.

As discussed in my New York Post column this week, there was an embarrassing moment recently at the White House when Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre claimed that a poll showed “64% of the American people agree with the pardon — 64% of the American people. So, we get a sense of where the American people are on this.”

That poll actually showed the majority of Americans opposed the pardon. Yet, it was 64 percent of Democrats who favored a president giving his own son a pardon.

It now turns out that that poll was likely wrong and that, even among Democrats, less than 40 percent support the pardon. Jean-Pierre is unlikely to use today’s press conference to highlight this poll, as she erroneously used the prior poll.

This has not stopped Democratic figures in Congress and the media fighting to excuse a grossly unethical and corrupt use of pardon authority.

Sen. Dick Durbin (D., Ill.), chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee and Senate majority whip, even called it a “labor of love.”

Indeed, much of the corruption in Washington is a labor of love, from nepotism to influence peddling to corrupt pardons. Indeed, faced with overwhelming opposition from the public to the Biden pardon, Democratic members are now “Prisoners of Love” in fighting to rationalize a blatantly unethical act.

This may or may not be a video of the choreographed response at the DNC with the members and media figures:

  1. Responding to the previous poster:

Biden’s memory is very similar to Ronald Reagan in his later years. Especially after Reagan got caught red-handed in the Iran-Contra scandal.

    1. Yes and Ronald Reagan owned up to it publically. However you are comapring Ronald Reagans memory to Bidens when Reafan had been out of the White House for over 19 years. probelm is Joes memory and brain are shot now while he is STILL in office!

  2. For a very long time, reasonable men & women have wondered ‘who is running the country?’
Many would speculate that Barack was. And no doubt there have been others along the way as Joe’s mental faculties deteriorated at an alarming rate.

I’m reminded of a cartoon from early in the Obama years which showed Barack dancing at the end of marionette strings — being manipulated by Robert Rubin, a man with an immense portfolio of influence.

    Joe’s been dancin’ for years!

  3. Hunter’s pardon was a test, the equivalent of thrusting a canary into a coal mine. It was the one pardon Biden would have insisted on, so they let him do it to see what the fallout would be. That’s why he issued the pardon so inexplicably early. The puppeteers wanted time to evaluate the results and perhaps dull the impact of what may or not may be to come. Come inauguration day, when Biden is out, he will no longer have any use for the Democratic Party, nor they him. It was never a question if Joe would demolish the party to serve his own ends, and never in doubt. He needed them for his livelihood, and they thought they needed him in 2008 to balance the ticket with the callow, inexperienced Marxist Obama. None of that matters now. If pardoning Hunter hurts them, what does he care? He has zero influence now and will have even less than that once he is out of office. As far as these sweeping blanket pardons, he won’t be any more aware of what’s happening around him than he has been for the last four years. To imagine they’ll ask him to put his signature to anything is idle. They don’t even need a rubber stamp. They have his signature digitalized. When the decision is made to pardon all of the fraudsters and traitors, he’ll be the last one to know. They will tell him what he decided, based on their evaluation of whether it will destroy their chances in 2028. And based on this poll, it would. In the end he’ll pardon a few people who pay his price– everyone knows Biden can be bought– but that will be it. After he’s out they’ll praise his restraint.

  4. “All” Americans disapprove of Biden’s son being pardoned, but there’s a percentage of democrat-voters that approve.

  5. Both Republicans and Democrats tortured innocent Americans – for 20+ years – after 9/11. Then moved FBI agents next door to harass these war crime victims.

Both parties need reform. Focus on that!

  6. * 20%? Sounds right and that’s probably the number of votes Biden actually got in 2020 and Harris about 2% in 2024.

    Merry Christmas
