“Police Officers were Injured and Killed”: Klobuchar Repeats Common False Claim About January 6th

Minnesota Democrat Sen. Amy Klobuchar this week was hit by a “community note” flagging a common false statement made about January 6th and how multiple officers were killed that day. Democratic leaders routinely refer to multiple deaths of officers when the only person to die on January 6th was Ashli Babbitt, a killing of an unarmed protester that remains controversial after a whitewashing by the Capitol Police. Klobuchar, who has been a vocal supporter of censorship to quell “disinformation” on social media, repeated the false narrative and declared that “Police officers were injured and killed.”

Klobuchar joined other Democrats in repeating the claim in her post on X:

“Four years ago, the electoral vote certification was interrupted by a violent mob. Police officers were injured and killed. Our democracy hung in the balance. I knew we had to do our duty and complete the count – and in the early hours of January 7th, we did.”

That posting quickly led to a “Community Note” by X that said, “No officers were killed.”

Immediately after the riot, Democrats started to repeat this claim, particularly concerning the later death of U.S. Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick. The New York Times helped spread the false claim that he died as a result of being hit with a fire extinguisher.

In reality, Sicknick suffered two strokes and died of natural causes the day after the riot. As the note states, “The medical examiner found Sicknick died of natural causes which means ‘a disease alone causes death. If death is hastened by an injury, the manner of death is not considered natural.’ Four other officers committed suicide days to months later.”

While repeating this claim, Democrats also downplay the riot around the White House in the previous summer, including some like Rep. Jamie Raskin (D., Md), who has bizarrely insisted that the protests were “peaceful.”

While many today still claim that the protests were “entirely peaceful” and there was no “attack on the White House,” that claim is demonstrably false. It is only plausible if one looks at the level of violence at the start of the clearing operation as opposed to the prior 48 hours.  There was, in fact, an exceptionally high number of officers injured during the protests. In addition to a reported 150 officers injured (including at least 49 Park Police officers around the White House), protesters caused extensive property damage including the torching of a historic structure and the attempted arson of St. John’s.  The threat was so great that Trump had to be moved into the bunker because the Secret Service feared a breach of security around the White House.

Of course, January 6th was bad enough—it does not need embellishment. Many of us immediately condemned it at the time as a desecration of our traditions and values. It was a disgraceful riot that interrupted the constitutionally mandated transition of power. However, the repeated use of this false claim is a disservice to the public and a misuse of this national tragedy. This repetition is referred to by psychologists as creating the “illusion of truth.” If repeated enough times, the lie becomes the truth, and those who object are then attacked as “deniers” or “insurrectionist sympathizers.”

On “misinformation,” Klobuchar has pushed social media companies to “take this crap off.” She has sponsored legislation to support censorship, particularly when it comes to the pandemic and COVID-19. She has stressed “how lethal misinformation can be and it is our responsibility to take action.” In this case, the lethality was the misinformation.

  1. Actually, I was thinking that police had beaten a second person who died. I remember seeing images shortly after the riot. I just searched “January 6 Black female police office beats protester with baton” and up came the story of P.O. Lila Morris, who repeatedly beat unconscious female protester (Rosanne Boyland) until other officers pulled her off. The news states that Officer Morris was declared a hero and given special pass and toast at the Super Bowl.

    1. Ooops. Just reading the earliest comments and see that this was brought up already. Apologies.

  2. We all know they have to keep pushing the agenda. They can’t let this be a peaceful transition and they can’t let this be a peaceful presidency because they want to try and gain back their power

  3. And another dem claimed biden was sharp as a tack. When dems are talking, they are lying.

  4. Take a deep breath and relax already. There’s no need to write long screeds or pounce on every Anonymous ludicrous comment. The current DOJ/FBI’s narrative will soon become obsolete with the Bondi/Patel led release of other facts and evidence. Once the public becomes aware of what has been withheld from them, like the staged DNC pipe bomber, altered videos, phone records, they will demand heads to roll.

  5. Thank you professor for pointing out the facts and how Democrats continue to repeat debunked lies. Keep up the good work!

  6. Hardly a surprise about Sen Klobuchar. Most of the Dems in Congress and round the US still think Hilary Clinton’s Steele Dossier was true and the Mueller investigation showed Trump conspired with the Russians. You use evidence to charge and convict people in court or evidence to support medical or scientific theory but you have all these people who believe evidence that was never proved or even worse was disproved is still evidence to support their half baked crimes or conspiracies. Either party con participate in this type of blind thinking but since 2008 the Dems seem the most adversely affected by this syndrome. Despite a rising tide of evidence in Europe and the US, the Dems still think you can turn little boys into little girls with surgery and drugs and vice versa.
Hard to deal with people who live in that fantasy world.
THE MEDICAL EXAMINER”S final sentence is pure conjecture. All that transpired that day may or may not have played a part in his death. The malformations and tortuous path of the vertebral basilar circulation could have caused a stroke in Mr Sicknick days to months before or after the riot. The circumstances of the day, not so much if any.

    1. “Still think the Steele dossier is true…” Of course they knows it BS, but its a card worth playing still.

      1. No, they really do think it’s true. That kind of fixed-false belief is virtually impossible to overcome with facts and logic. It’s a complete emotional response and the more you try to root it out, the more deeply embedded it becomes.

        1. So true, the woke prog/left is akin to the islamist jihadi; so in to their cult obsession that reality is only a distraction and discussion is not possible. The believe with the fervor of an cultists and you cannot disuade them – ask any terrorist bomber just before they detonate themselves for the cause.

        2. They still think masks work, Covid vaccines immunize you and Jimmy Carter was a good President. Spoon fed Morons

          1. “Spoon fed Morons”

Spoon fed by a public education systems that we desperately need to scrap and reinvent or replace.

  7. The bald fact is that when an election is stolen, apparently the only remedy is to let it stay stolen for four years or as long as it takes to restore honesty in an election. We had no mechanism to prevent all the Left’s voter fraud. The Constitution assumes that both sides will act with ethics and integrity. With the Left, such assumptions are in vain. “Protesting” was the only option available, as ineffectual as it seemed at the time and ultimately proved to be. Yes, the protests were gauche and unseemly, and it is not surprising that silk-stockinged types would turn their noses up at them. Yet the DOJ turned a blind eye, and SCOTUS hid under the bed. Babbitt paid for it with her life, and I’m not so sure that Boyland was merely “trampled by other rioters”. This flaw in the process must be addressed.

    1. The Constituion assumes nothing, it states what is law. Even in 1789 the delegates to the Constituional Convention knew that “politics” would eventually rule the nation (Washington knew it would be the nations undoing, Franlkin too) , intead of honor and intgerity, of which very few delgates had.

      I love James Madison.

      1. “If Men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed; and the next place, oblige it to control itself.”

        -James Madison

        1. “OBLIGE THE GOVERNMENT TO CONTROL ITSELF”

          Indeed.

The singular American failure is the judicial branch, with emphasis on the Supreme Court.  Session was not prohibited and was fully constitutional, and every act of Lincoln—Lincoln’s “Reign of Terror” in its totality—must have been struck down from the outset.  The Federal Reserve Act of 1913 must have been struck down immediately as anti-freedom, anti-free enterprise, anti-free market, and unconstitutional.  The 16th Amendment was antithetical, anti-American, unconstitutional, and improperly ratified end run by communists. The Roosevelt administration was an unconstitutional putsch toward communism.  The communist American welfare state is unconstitutional and must have been struck down before the “War on Poverty” and “Great Society” were twinkles in General Secretary LBJ’s eye.

The entire communist American welfare state is unconstitutional including, but not limited to, admissions affirmative action, grade-inflation affirmative action, employment affirmative action, quotas, welfare, food stamps, minimum wage, rent control, social services, forced busing, public housing, utility subsidies, CRT, DEI, WIC, SNAP, TANF, HAMP, HARP, TARP, NPR, Health and Human Services, Housing and Urban Development, Environmental Protection Agency, Agriculture, Education, Labor, Energy, Obamacare, Social Security, Social Security Disability, Social Security Supplemental Income, Medicare, Medicaid, “Fair Housing” laws, “Non-Discrimination” laws, etc.

Article 1, Section 8, provides Congress the power to tax for ONLY debt, defense, and “general Welfare” – ALL or THE WHOLE WELL PROCEED through governmental provision of security and basic infrastructure – omitting and, thereby, excluding any power to tax for individual Welfare, specific Welfare, particular Welfare, favor or charity. The same Article enumerates and provides Congress the power to regulate ONLY the Value of money, Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several states, and with the Indian Tribes, and land and naval Forces.

Further, the 5th Amendment right to private property was initially qualified by the Framers and is, therefore, absolute, allowing no further qualification, and allowing ONLY the owner the power to “claim and exercise” dominion over private property.

Government exists, under the Constitution and Bill of Rights, to provide maximal freedom to individuals while government is severely limited and restricted to facilitating that maximal freedom of individuals through the provision of security and infrastructure.

The Necessary and Proper Clause is nothing more than a perfunctory redundancy for the purposes of clarification—a reinforcement of that which was previously codified—and may not be wielded to amend and impose separate acts that do not represent but alter the letter and spirit of the Founders and Framers.

Karl Marx wrote the Communist Manifesto 59 years after the adoption of the Constitution because none of the principles of the Communist Manifesto were in the Constitution. Had the principles of the Communist Manifesto been in the Constitution, Karl Marx would have had no reason to write the Communist Manifesto. The principles of the Communist Manifesto were not in the Constitution then, and the principles of the Communist Manifesto are not in the Constitution now.

    2. “I’m not so sure that Boyland was merely “trampled by other rioters”.”

Cionnath, I saw videos of Boyland being beaten by a police officer, and posted at least one on the blog. I feel confident they are available with a net search.

  8. Ashlii Babbitt. Dead. Good. When a police officer tells you to stop, you stop, fool.

    1. Good grief. Some people. Democrats forever claim police use “excessive force”, and, then, when a cop actually does, bango, the unarmed protestor is at fault.

    2. So Why is Dereck Chauvin in prison for the rest of his life ? He spent 20 minutes telling George Floyd to “Stop”. Floyd did not listen and actually used force against Chauvin and other officers ?

        1. She died trying to crawl through a broken window while the crowd behind her was chanting “Hang Mike Pence”.
Yep, she deserved to be shot along with every single protestor that entered the capitol that day.

          1. So can we start shooting left wing nuts because we do not like what they chant ?

Should the park police have killed the protestors at the WH in june engaged in Arson or throwing rocks ?
What about those who broke the WH fence down ?

What about the Kavanaugh protestor that took an ace to a senators desk – should he have been shot ?

But for double standards those of you on the left would have no standards.

The rule of law requires that the same laws be applied consistently in the same way.

Hillary Clinton reported the funding of the creation of the steele dossier as a legal expense and paid for it from her campaign.

Clinton is a NY resident – why didn’t Bragg indict and charge her ?

Aside from this idiotically false nonsense about falsifying business records – which to be constititional MUST be a crime of fraud and therefore you must have a real victim who was deprived of tangible property, Clinton actually did commit an election law violation for which she got her wrist slapped by the FEC.

The FEC looked into the payments for the Daniel NDA and correctly decided they did not meet the criteria as a camppaign matter and therefore there was no violation.
Yet Bragg/Merchan leverage a campaign law violation that the FEC already ruled did not occur to prosecute Trump.

The US constitution bars double jeophady. It should also bar venue shopping. Regardless Bragg/Merchan were barred from litigating federal crimes – they have no jurisdiction, and they are barred from relitigating anything.

Show me the man and I will show you the crime,
is the modis operandi of the left.
It is immoral, it is unconstitutional and it is a violation of the rule of law.

If you allow the shooting of Alishii Babbit, then we can gun down the Kavanaugh protesters, or those protesting at the WH in june 2020,
or the BLM protesters. We can mow down those the break into stores and steal merchandise – because the police can murder people trespassing or committing theft – even if they are unarmed.

          1. Kirk
Don’t waste your time on this moron. Sometimes I read the obituaries, I try to maintain the principles of a Christian faith but to my failings there are still some I find myself taking great pleasure in reading. I wish we knew this miserable morons identity because I know he would fall into that category. God Bless him.

            Remember Ashli Babbitt!

    3. Only a liberal would call a dead veteran who was killed protesting (maybe illegally) a fool. Would Anonymous ever call Breonna Taylor of New Orleans a fool for having a felon boyfriend? How about Mike Brown and the “hands up” lie? Would you call him a fool? How about St George Floyd?

Nope, only the 100 pound veteran that was killed by a cop with a sketchy past would this loser call a fool.

      1. Please, stop plyaing the patriot card, its a childish argument. Use logic and fact. Thanks.

        1. Hullbobby did use logic and facts.
You are a left wing nut.
          Alishii was a verteran
          She was a protestor,
She did only weigh about 100lbs
Micheal Byrd had a sketchy past including prior incidents of mishandling a firearm.
Breonna Taylor was the boyfriend of a felon with an outstanding warrant and living with him.
Micheal brown had just robbed a store and did NOT put his hands up, He had actually Wrestled the officer for his gun
And George Floyd was passing counterfeit 20’s and did ingest 3 times fatal does of atleast 3 drugs.

          These are all FACTS.

Hullbooby’s logically correct argument is that the rule of law requires the same standards for all.
Something those on the left can not do.

Your ideology is inconsistent with the rule of law,
          And it is racist.

          1. Thanks John! But when typing please try to spell Hullbobby with only one o?

Keep up the good work, I agree with almost all of your comments. Especially when you compliment ME!!!!

      1. Do you really think someone has to say stop to a person crawling through a broken window towards the house floor while the crowd is chanting Hang Mike Pence?

      2. I beleive Byrd has said he told her to stop, but no one heard that and there is no audio recording where he can be heard to say anything.
It is NOT impossible that he said “stop”. It is highly unlikely that Babbet heard that, and certainly no one else did.

    4. Wow! So you are ok with a police officer routinely killing any unarmed person standing 20 ft or so away from that officer for not obeying word stop? If so, I feel sad for you.

    5. Thank you for demonstrating that your breed does not differ much from those from the animal kingdom.

      1. S. Meyer,
I would argue the animal kingdom are better than the anonymoron. In the animal kingdom, they have the good sense to eat their young that are defective. Woke leftists, not so much. The upside, woke leftists are more inclined to abort their young or not reproduce at all. And if they do, their children generally are abject failures. Just look at how many of them are still living at home, still dependent on their parents as their useless DEI degrees can only get them jobs as baristas.

        1. “And if they do, their children generally are abject failures.”

Upstate, I have yet to see an anonymous figure who looks like he has done something with his life.

  9. Those who are wedded to an anti-Trump agenda tend to ignore a number if inconvenient facts, in addition to those noted in Turley’s article. Among those inconvenient facts: in the days prior to his J6 speech, Trump requested a hefty National Guard presence, which Pelosi, the then Speaker of the House, denied; and Trump instructed the crowd to go to the Capitol and “peacefully and patriotically” make their voices heard. This is not to exonerate Trump for his delay in trying to quell out-of-control behavior. It is to suggest that he was not, as some continue to say, trying to overthrow the government.

      1. Fact Check your fact check. Trump did not “sign” an order. He GAVE an order with multiple people present,
Sec Def, and JCS Miley took Trump’s verbal order as an ACTUAL order – From the Sec Def through to Gen Walker at the Armory there is at each and ever layer in the chain of command BOTH a WRITTEN staging order prior to J6 and on J6 an actual order to deploy. The order to deploy was sent down the chain of command with in minutes of the request from the House Sargent at Arms for the NG. Every single one of these orders is in writing. and date and time stamped. They were all provided – as well as tesimony supporting them to the House J6 committee, to IG Horowitz investigating the DoD response to J6 and to a separate DoD tribunal investigating DoD response to J6

Lets be crystal clear – there is absolutely nothing the military does without orders, and there is nothing the military does better than documenting orders.
Next ALL military orders originate with the president – without exception.

Walker and the DC NG were waiting in Busses to be deployed to the Capitol at 7am on J6. Neither Gen Walker not even Gen Miley has the authority to direct the DC NG to be ready without some order from the president

Separately, there were already NG forces at the mall withing 5 minutes walk of the capitol ready to assist – again as early as 7AM on the 6th.

One of the issues the IG investigted was why those forces were not dispatched immediately when the House Sargent Arms request came in at approx. 2pm.
Instead those troops were directed to RETURN to the DC Armory.

The IG found a small number of errors within DoD – the failure to send the NG that were on the mall immediately, as well as a Maj. Gen in the Chain of Command who delayed for over an hour forwarding the order to deploy to Walker.

The left wing Narrative that Trump dawdled is idiotic – because not only is the entire set of orders going down the chain of command well documented to pre-stage the NG,
But the order to actually deploy the NG – which occured immediately on the request by the house sgt or Arms came BEFORE Trump’s supposed Dawdling.

The real issues on J6 are:
Why did it take the Sgt at Arms until just past 2pm to request the NG – who had been ordered to be available days before and was waiting pateintly at the DC armory.
Why did it take more than an hour for that order to get From Miley down the chain of command to Walker.
Why were the NG forces at the Mall ordered back to the Armory rather than directly to the Capitol.
Why did Pelosi call the Governors of Maryland and Virginia asking for the MD and VA Guard – which no governor can order out of state, as Pelosi Well knows.

And finally Why have the media, the left and democrats lied repeatedly about this and so many other facetes of J6

While your “fact Check” is technically correct – Trump did NOT sign a written order – in fact he did not sign a written order at any point.

The fact check is deliberately misleading as Trump inarguably gave a verbal order BEFORE J6 and that order is documented in writing at DoD and JCS as
“By Order of the president” – because ALL orders must originate with the president.

        1. John Say, and yet you offer zero proof of your claim there was a verbal order. If there was an order where is the proof of the written orders going down the chain of command? You offer nothing to corroborate your claim.

          1. All the documentation proving DJT authorized use of DCNG is readily available – DOD report and transcripts of testimony given by those present, including Chief Sund, Kash Patel and others.

          2. Please reread my post – the proof is readily available if you wish to look for it.

Some of it can be established purely from logic.
Gen Walker was on the Bus with his men at 7am on J6 waiting to be ordered to the capitol.

            Are you challenging that ?
The military does not act without orders – and orders originate with the president

I did not mention – but the CP timeline which was avaiulable publicly within a few days of J6 documents the exchanges between the CP and the assistant Sec Def offering the NG. Somewhat later the actual correspondence was made public.

In the real world – no one is debating that those exchanges took place.

The Asst Sec Def does not have the authority to offer the NG to the CP.
Only the president can do that. Again absent an order from Trump making the CP available, they could not have been offered tot he CP.

But those are what we KNEW shortly after J6.

Since IG horowitz conducted and investigation.
            The Dod conducted and investigation.
the J6 committee conducted an investigation.
For each of those investigations witnesses testified and documents were produced – including the orders going all the way down the chain of command to Walker TWICE,
Once to be ready on J6 and the 2nd to deploy to the capital.

I beleive much of this is in the Loudermilk report on the Chenney Thompson J6 committee.
Loudermilk’s committee was able to recover the evidence that the Chenney/Thomson J6 committte tried to destroy.
I would note that destruction of evidence is a grime.

Loudermilk also got testimony and documentation from the DoD, and from the DoD’s investigation, and some from IG Horowitz.

IG Horowitz is I believe in the process of finalizing his report, regardless the evidence he gathered was made avaiable to the Loudermilk J6 committee.

Much of this has been made public – though god forbid the lamestream media should report the truth.

          3. Correct – I did not offer proof, I provided you with proof. If you wish to verify that the proof I offered is real – google is your friend, There are lots of places you can find it all.

Doubting Thomas what is it you need ?

What is it you need ?
Would the Loudermilk committes report and attached evidence be sufficient ?

What about IG Horowitz’s report ?
            Transcripts of testimony ?
Testimony to the DoD tribunal that investigated J6 ?
Do you need video of the witnesses testifying ?

Must you stick your hands in Christs wounds in order to beleive ?

Everything I mentioned above – and much more exists. All of it is available in a variety of recently released reports.
Some of it has been available for almost 4 years.
Aside from the reports much of the raw evidence, the transcripts of testimony, the paper copies of actual orders
are mostly available. Again some have been since shortly after J6.

      2. It is pure stupidity to use an article over two years old when new articles prove them to be wrong. Anonymous figures remain in the stupid group. and despite walking on four legs can’t seem to climb out of the sewer.

        1. S. Meyer,
You mean like this one, Bombshell transcripts: Trump urged use of troops to protect Capitol on Jan. 6 , but was rebuffed
“Key lawmaker says interviews prove Pentagon wrongly allowed optics to overwhelm security concerns in lead-up to fateful day. The Pentagon’s top brass did not comply with Trump’s orders because of political concerns and “optics.”
          https://justthenews.com/accountability/watchdogs/bombshell-transcripts-trump-urged-use-troops-protect-capitol-jan-6-was?utm_source=referral&utm_medium=offthepress&utm_campaign=home

          1. Upstate, how does one deal with nincompoops when they hide themselves by using an anonymous name? I guess you are right and I should continue doing what I have been doing for awhile and ignore the nincompoops along with their lies. But might not some have something to say? If they can’t use a name or an alias then what is the point of reading their comments.

        2. The fact check is technically correct – there is no written order signed by Trump. That does not mean there is no order.
Asie from the testimony of 4 people in the Oval at the time,
There is the seaparate fact that the military – which is anal about such things – LOGGED the order. AMD the subsequent orders going down the chain of command.
Because that is at the core of the military.

We KNOW that Trump specifically ordered the NG to be made available and deployed on requiest by the House Sargent at arms days in advance.

As I noted all orders must originate with the president.

But it is NOT normal for a presidential order to be that specific.
Presidents do not order foot soldiers to take a specific bridge – usually, Jehnson did micromanage the vietnam war.

Trump could have told SecDef and/or Miley – “make sure that Congress has whatever additional security resources they need for J6”
That would be a more typical presidential order. It would hav been up to SecDef to determine the best way to fullfill that order, and then to issue one or many orders necescary to impliment that.

Put differently – Trump did NOT order Ge Walker to be sitting in a bus at 7am on J6. but he DID issue an order that caused JCS to issue orders to subordinates that as it worked its way down the chain of command turned into the order that told Walker to be sitting in a bus at 7am J6.

Trump did not order the gear to be used, the time to be waiting, those were all part of a larger collection of orders triggered by Trump’s order which was likely little more than Make sure that the NG can be provided to the CP on J6 if requested.

It is even possible that Trump said – send the NG on J6. Such an order would have been understood as “send the NG when requested” becaus the president can not order the NG or anyone onto Capitol grounds.

          1. “The fact check is technically correct – there is no written order signed by Trump. That does not mean there is no order.”

The lack of understanding that fact-checkers spin the truth causes many normal people to become ignorant of it. One must look carefully at the wording to ensure the fact-checker is not selectively dismissing facts to create the opposite story. Anonymous dumbbells rely on selecting words that leave out the truth. That makes their ideas worthless.

There was a number attached to the records involving the number of soldiers. It was either 10,000 or 20,000.

      3. Your linked source is precisely why Americans no longer trust the media (AP no less).
The AP intentionally cited a SOCIAL MEDIA post claiming that Trump ordered 20,000 National Guard troops:
“‘Trump signed an order to deploy 20,000 Guardsmen on J6. It was refused by the House sergeant at arms, who reports to Nancy Pelosi,’ one user wrote Friday on Gettr. The claim also spread on Instagram and Twitter.”

This allowed the AP to intentionally publish its desired headline, “Trump did not sign an order to deploy 20,000 troops on Jan. 6.” Effect achieved.
        Try again. thanks

      4. ATS – it is these blatantly false or distorted “fact checks” that are why no one beleives you.

Trump did not order in writing over his signature the NG to be made available.
He did so verbally in the oval days before and Miley and several others have confirmed that.

Further they HAD TO. The military can not act without orders, and orders must originate with the president.
Not only is this critical – but as a result orders are thoroughly documented within the military.
There are written orders or written documentation of verbal orders at every level from Secdef down to Gen Walker at the DC armory – both to be ready prior to J6 and to deploy on J6.
Walker was ready in a bus on J6 at the Armory waiting to be directed to the capitol.
Walker and his soldiers would not be on that bus absent an order.
and that Order must originate with the president.

While atleast parts of the AP fact check might be technically correct – the fact check itself is a lie and deliberate deception – it is like 3 card mounty an effort to distract people from the truth.

And that is why people do not beleive you.

    1. Why do you keep repeating demonstrably false accusations? Trump did not call for 20,000 troops. If he did, they would have been there.

Don’t drink the kool aide when trump says to do it, it will kill you.

      1. Bombshell transcripts: Trump urged use of troops to protect Capitol on Jan. 6 , but was rebuffed
“Key lawmaker says interviews prove Pentagon wrongly allowed optics to overwhelm security concerns in lead-up to fateful day. The Pentagon’s top brass did not comply with Trump’s orders because of political concerns and “optics.”
        https://justthenews.com/accountability/watchdogs/bombshell-transcripts-trump-urged-use-troops-protect-capitol-jan-6-was?utm_source=referral&utm_medium=offthepress&utm_campaign=home

  10. What gets me really mad about these egregious lying episodes is that the liberal media person never follows up with something like, “which officer died that day”. Or how about, “actually senator that has been debunked”. There is never a FACT CHECK on a Democrat.

  11. District of Columbia Chief Medical Examiner Francisco J. Diaz found that Sicknick suffered two strokes nearly eight hours after being sprayed with a chemical irritant during the riot. Diaz told the Post that Sicknick died of natural causes, but “all that transpired played a role in his condition.”

JT, do not try to rewrite history. The videos are out there for all to see. A violent mob entered the Capitol Building, many chanting “Hang Mike Pence”, Many chanting “Where’s Nancy”. Do you think they were going to pin a medal on Nancies chest when they found her?

Ashli Babbitt was shot while crawling through a broken window to get into the House Chamber where they thought they could convince legislators to change their vote and give trump a victory. That is the very definition of INSURECTION.

    You are pathetic.

    1. If it is the very definition of “insurection” (sic), the hanging DOJ has failed to grasp it. For sure, the protesting crowd was ill-prepared to overthrow the government.

      1. ” the protesting crowd was ill-prepared to overthrow the government.”

I agree 100%. This was the Key Stone Cops version of an insurrection. But an insurrection it was. I bet every bank robber that has been caught would love to use your defense. I was just dumb at what I did. Yep, they sure were. But they were attempting to keep in power the guy that lost the election. That is the definition of an insurrection. Success or failure is not part of the question.

        1. It was not analogous to a botched bank robbery. The proper analogy is to pick an example of how people sometimes behave in large groups. For example, the Puerto Rican Day Parade “wilding” in the year 2000. Or how some of the country’s most educated people – college students and alumni – sometimes react after their underdog school wins an important football game. That is, they rush from the stands to the field, rip down the goal posts, then parade around town. How many of them do you think woke up that morning, said to themselves, “gee, if we win this football game, I think I’ll commit acts of vandalism and property damage”? Almost none. Group dynamics take over and they allow their emotions – temporarily – to overtake reason.

I acknowledge a tiny percentage of the people who engaged in J6 DID go there with the intent to stop the certification. They were wrong and they deserve to be harshly punished.

But the vast, overwhelming majority, numbering in the several hundreds, did not. They got caught up in the group dynamics of the moment. We all know that to be true. The problem with the Democrat and your clownish narrative is that you intentionally and falsely impute the motives and intent of a tiny handful onto them all.

That makes you, and your party, evil.

          1. “I acknowledge a tiny percentage of the people who engaged in J6 DID go there with the intent to stop the certification.”

Thank you for admitting this was an insurrection.

          2. I’m not prepared to definitively state that until we learn the exact role of CHS’s, undercover agents etc. There are too many videos of people who encouraged others to “storm the capitol,” who were never prosecuted. One such individual is Nick Fuentes. If the reason he wasn’t prosecuted was that he was a CHS, and his actions resulted in the prosecution of others for entering that day, that’s illegal entrapment.

There’s just too many unanswered questions to know definitively what exactly happened.

        2. The January 6 “Insurrection” that Wasn’t
“In Edward Luttwak’s extremely interesting book—Coup D’état: A Practical Handbook—he outlines a series of practical necessities a successful overthrow entails. A neutralized opposition, media control, military support, dedicated and discrete supporters throughout government offices, speed of implementation, a detailed and logistically-feasible organizational action plan, and the immediate institutionalization of the new government are all among the key elements to prevailing. Since what occurred on January 6 not only lacked any of these elements but, by all accounts, had the exact opposite characteristics means, again, the premise that an actual government overthrow was in process is ludicrous.”
          https://mises.org/power-market/january-6-insurrection-wasnt

          1. ” a series of practical necessities a successful overthrow entails.”

Those requirements describe with much greater accuracy what forces inside of the government accomplished with COVID pandemic actions than anything attempted by election results demonstrators on 1/6/2021.

      2. There is a legal definition of insurrection and what happened on J6 didn’t satisfy it in order to prosecute anyone under that charge. It’s extremely important to be precise because you might find yourself in some situation which those precise definitions matter indeed.

    2. Well anonymous, the “very definition of an insurrection” that you assert is not quite shared by the FBI or the Biden prosecutors. No such charges were ever made against Trump or the many protestors. Face it: what happened was a protest turned into a riot. Not good, but not an insurrection.

        1. To seek a redress of grievances against the illegal regarding the election. The protesters sought a delay in certification to investigate the specific claims made in very specific states.

The process of challenging certification in these states was completely legal and in process when those mysterious pipe bombs were found & Ray Epps whispered to the man who removed the bike racks leading to the onslaught if the Capitol at the precise moment necessary to stop the process completely.

    3. I take note that you make your stupid comments under the anonymous name. You know you are low bred so you hide.

      1. By this idiots definition all the Kent State protesters got what they deserved. I guarantee you that Ashli Babbitt did more for this country in her years of service with the Air Force than this miserable low life creature has done in its entire life. Only the cream of the crop even make it to the Air Force, very selective. She knew it was stolen just like the rest of us with a functioning brain.
I fully understand and respect free speech but I also believe that it should come with consequences, like a severe azz whipping in cases like these out of common decency.

    4. Your the one rewriting history. Strokes are not caused by riots or pepper spray. They are caused by physical problems. Blockages or weakness of arteriesm or veins.

The good news is that the medical examiner did little more than add some spin to his report – unlike many other left wing nut or politically pressured medical poersonel who have manufactured things out of whole cloth.

George Floyd had tripple the level eeded to kill him of each of 3 narcotics. His blood oxygen was near normal there was no physical evidence of compression of his airway or lack of oxygen. The Video shows that Chauvin never placed his knee in a position that would constrict his airway. Amd yet somehow with the complete absence of anything that ties Chauvin to Floyds death The ME managed to testify that even without any actual evidence of any kind that somehow magically Chaivin soffocated him.

And you wonder why no one trusts those of you on the left ?

      You corrupt everything you touch.

Sicknick was a “dead man walking” – absent actually having his strokes – which were inevitable in the ER, his odds of surviving were small.
Is it possible that but for J6 he might have died at a different moment – certainly.

    5. You are correct in saying Sicknick was sprayed with pepper spray, however, there was no causal link yo the stroke. There is so much we need to uncover regarding that day, please withhold judgement until a thorough and independent investigation can be conducted-

  12. “Our democracy hung in the balance. I knew we had to do our duty and complete the count – and in the early hours of January 7th, we did.”

“So you see, we are the brave warriors for Democracy — just like those courageous heroes at Pearl Harbor, the Battle of the Bulge, Washington crossing the Delaware. We deserve statues. And entire chapters in history books. Maybe even a national holiday.”

Remind me, again, which party is full of delusional, “malignant narcissists.”

    1. These are the same people that have become wealthy off thr backs of the People while driving the country into $36T in insurmountable debt. I ask you, who are the insurrectionists? Their continued lies of a robust economy delivered to Trump is laughable. They spend $6T while taking in $4.2T annually. The interest on the debt is our Nations largest single expenditure. Who again is destroying our country?

  13. As much as I would love to see the “news” of J6 go away; the only fair way to do so would be to have an actual investigation and actually release the videos—all of them. So many are there that the MSM won’t show. Tucker Carlson was supposed to begin this process and it/he fizzled out. We need Matt Taibbi on it!

    1. “Tucker Carlson was supposed to begin this process and it/he fizzled out.”

Gee, I wonder why? Perhaps the videos showed a violent mob attacking police officers and being violent? Just one of the possibilities why Tucker wouldn’t release the videos.

      1. Are those of you on the left really that delusional ?

Fox was pressured by the government, Tucker’s departure from Fox was driven in part by continuing to look into J6 and exposing the false left wing narative – though another significant element was that some Tucker segments were critical of Big Pharma which was a major Fox advertiser.

Regardless Tucker continued his J6 reporting after leaving Fox – including a very long and damning to Pelosi interview of Chief Sund.

While Speaker MacCarthy agreed to make all the J6 video public, instead of just fropping it on the internet where all of us – right and left to crowd source searching and analysis he retained control and set up a process where journalists could schedule time to review video they requested.

Even so, slowly more and more has been made public and it thoroughly undermines the left wing narrative.

As others have noted – it demonstrates incontrovertably that the small number of CP officers that testified in the democrats star chamber hearings. lied under oath.
Most not even being present – as proven by video, at the places they claimed to be.

The fact is that if you are looking for violent video of the events at J6 – you have already seen ALL OF IT within a few months of the event.
Pretty much everything that has come out since has been orderly and non-violent.

The left, the media, and the democrats deliberately set out to create a false narative.

The near perfect juxtaposition is the famous false color image of the “gallows” with the capitol appearing to be burning behind it – there was absolutely no arson or fires at J6,
and the numerous unstaged photos of the rickity “gallows” with the sign on its side in big letters – “This Is Art”.

Those of you on the left wanted a narative of protestors chanting “Hang Mike Pence” with the evidence that those protestors were serious and came prepared to do exactly that.

When the unstaged photo shows reality – the chants was symbolic, The gallows was symbolic. The protestors were not actually threatening anyone with anything harsher that public condemnation.

        1. The second the Capitol Police opened the magnetically locked doors to the Capitol whatever riot/insurrection/coup detat was over. Also we’re still waiting to get the number of govt instigators that were inserted into the crowd to rile people up. Police fired tear gas, and rubber bullets into peaceful crowds. It’s amazing how much damage people who walked through the Capitol, unarmed, and staying within the velvet ropes have did./s

      2. It would be nice to see the evidence that the j6 committee destroyed. I wonder why they destroyed it.

  14. The Left Wing DEMS, in fact most DEMS, along with MSM, J6th is all they have, and they continue to believe the American people are listening? but the American people don’t believe in the DEMS/MSM BS, have moved on for they feel it was nt a major issue etc. The voters spoke loud and clear, BIDEN/DEMS, MSM and Left Wing radicals we are tired of this BS and we want new and REAL leadership, not Woke/censorship etc. The DEMS/MSM have not learned anything from the elections. The DEMS will not return to power until they get rid of the radical Left/Woke etc crowd and their radical control/censorship policies.

    1. Your comment is ridiculously facile. The voting was 74 million for Trump and 71 million for Harris. The number of people who did not vote: 89 million. Trump got 51 percent. Harris got 49 percent of the ballots. Among all American eligible voters Trump received 31%. There is hardly a “loud and clear” message from Americans.

  15. A Mash episode has Corporal Klinger in a dress in Colonel Potter’s office wanting a Section 8 mental discharge. Harry Morgan as Colonel Potter says no. As Klinger leaves he turns back and says “I’ll be back”. Morgan, at his desk, gives him his deadpan stare and “ I’ll be here”.

  16. Dear Mr. Turley, the Left wing media and well as left leaning politicians will beat the January 6, 2021 drum until there is nothing more to say. This is because, their own reputation and revenue stream depend on it. What could they say after they have been found lying and stretching the truth all these years? Like Hillary Clinton, James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Peter Strock, Lisa Page, John Brennan, James Clapper, Adam Schiff, Jamie Raskin, Nancy Pelosi, plus those in the Left-wing media will place the blame on Mr. Trump. Because of the people listed above, I will never vote for the Democrats, ever.

  17. Klobuchar is running for President again. She lost out last time by getting caught in many lies. She’s at it again. it again.

  18. Does anyone know why the other 4 officers committed suicide?

When I was watching, I saw the doors being held open and people peacefully walking in. A couple were neatly adjusting the stanchions. Albeit, Bryan Sicknick’s death may have been caused from the unusual circumstances of the day before. Beyond that, anyone who went into private offices and to the floor of congress or through a broken window that they had to climb up to were in the wrong. Anyone who “took a souvenir” were wrong. They should be charged accordingly–trespassing, “shop”lifting, breaking and entry. IMHO, many were just surging forward with the extremely large “crowd”.
I have been in a large crowd that was pushing forward–it is a very uncomfortable feeling.

    1. The story of what kind of pressure was applied to the officers, and who applied it, that it may have contributed to the suicides for four officers is the most under-covered story of the whole ordeal. I’ve been eager to read that story for four years.

    2. For the most part I agree with you. Turley is Slowly starting to moderate his remarks on J6 to conform with reality.

The FACT is that J6 was not consequentially different from the 2020 WH protests, or the earlier Kavanaugh Protests.

There should be absolutely no charges or punishment for “trespassing” the Capitol is the pre-eminent public free speech forumn in the world.
It is also the primary place to petitition government. If it is open to congress, it must be open to protestors. PERIOD.

Turley makes far too much about the effort to disrupt the transfer of power. How is that different from the effort to disrupt the appointment of a supreme court justice ?

Whether on the right or left, Whether one is correct in their beleifs or not – in this country the first amendment Trump’s ceremony.

I would further note that even today – possibly more so after vote totals for 2024 fell about 10M short of 2020, a majority of voters beleive that the 2020 election was rigged.

What are the constraints on protest against illegitimate government ? This country was born in violent revolution.

The final check on government is the people. The declaration of independence is quite litterally the assertion that violence against illegitimate govenrment is justified.

To be clear I do not beleive that the small amount of violence on J6 was justified. But only because again as the declaration of independence asserts a long train of abuses must precede resorting to violence.

Still lets be clear – while those who initiated violence, those who damaged or stole property went too far, everything else that occured on J6 was legitimate.

Contra Turley it IS legitimate for protestors to seek to disrult the certification of the vote – whether Trump supporters or Clinton supporters or Harris Biden supporters.
Just as it IS legitimate to try to disrupt the confirmation of a supreme court justice.

That does not automatically make those doing these things “right”, it just means they have the right to protest, they have the right to non-violently attempt to disrupt.

And after “a long train of abuses” which we have fortunately fallen short of, they have the right to violence.

    3. “Does anyone know why the other 4 officers committed suicide?”

Could they possibly have known more about official complicity/conspiracy in escalating the J6 demonstration into a riot than they could afford to discuss publicly (because of threats from those officials responsible), and the resulting guilt induced them to take their own lives?

  19. Community Note:

Roseann Boyland died after being trampled by rioters surging to enter the Capitol. Ashlii Babbitt was not “the only person who died at the Capitol on Jan 6th”.

    1. Yes they always leave Rosanne Boyland’s name off, who was trampled and repeatedly hit with a baton by a female police officer, Lila Morris, while Rosanne lay on the ground unconscious . And they never discuss that this WAS a peaceful protest without force until the police started, without warning, to shoot rubber bullets, tear gas, flash grenades, and pepper balls. And they never mention the provocateurs dressed in Trump gear whose job it was, was to incite the crowd. They were either FBI plants or CIs used by the FBI to escape punishment for other crimes. Well, after mobs of police started spewing these harmful crowd dispersers, it tends to make people angry. 1 man had a rubber bullet go through his cheek, and 2 others, Kevin Greeson and Benjamin Philips, were hit in the chest by the flash grenades and died. This was all by design, and it has since been shown that Trump asked for National Guard troops and was denied by Nancy Pelosi as well as Muriel Bowser. They had already decided on the “buzz” word “insurrection,” and repeated it over and over until the lie was accepted. And the only weapons that day were from the police, again without any warning. There were no cops killed that day, and Officer Harry Dunn lied about what he saw that day to the committee, as video shows him no where near the scenes he describes. After so many people in other situations that had stories certain agencies didn’t want told seem to have been suicided, it makes me question the suicides of the 5 officers. And even though innocent people have been in jail for over 3 years under deplorable living situations, no one has been charged with insurrection.

      1. You make an excellent observation on 5 suicides. Something doesn’t smell right like so many other incidents on that fateful day.

      2. Thank you.

Much of what you have written has video evidence.

Those paying attention now know that the violence at the west tunnel entrance – where nearly all the violence occured,
started when FIRST the CP accidentally fired a CS Tear Gas grenade into their own officers and then lobbed one into a peaceful crowd.

That crowd immediately fled the Tear gas grenade creating a ripple of pressure in the crowd that burst through the barriers on the side closest to the Capitol.
The CP responded by beating people and a melee resulted.

People were beaten to the ground by the CP as the crowd pushed them forward.
People were trampled by the crowd.
People defended themselves or others from being beaten by the CP.

While there absolutely were people who willingly engaged in violence.
Or incited others to do so.
a great deal of the violence was defensive rather than offensive and caused by the incompetence of the CP at the West Tunnel Entrance.

I would note – I have no doubt there were outside agitators – the most shown video of Alishi Babbits murder was taken by an Antifa affiliated journalist who was exhorting those arround him to misconduct as he traveled through the capitol.

We now know of atleast 26 FBI agents, informants and CHS’s present int he crowd – and there are likely significantly more.

All the above and MORE are precisely why the NG should have been there AHEAD OF TIME as Trump wanted.

The claim that Trump was derilict with respect to the NG is one of the stupidest claims in the whole left wing narative nonsense.

Trump wanted the NG to protect the protestors. He did not Trust Pelosi’s CP.
Pelosi did NOT want the NG because she beleived the NG was likely to be favorably disposed to Trump and the protestors.

Lest we forget immediately Post J6 Pelosi pushed the DoD to conduct an ideological purge of the NG and the military.

But then who in their right mind would accuse left wing nuts of being rational. logical or having the slightest common sense.

  20. Senator Klobuchar is a true politician; she is an unadulterated liar with but one mandate, self-promotion. I often wonder which states’ electors are the dumbest. Minnesota is a clear leader in these sweepstakes.
