“I’m Ready for My Close-Up”: Mayors Tap the Public for Massive Fees to Prepare for Immigration Hearing

At the end of Sunset Boulevard, Norma Desmond (playing the murderous former silent movie star) walks flamboyantly down a staircase to awaiting police and says, “All right, Mr. DeMille, I’m ready for my close-up.”

It is one of the most powerful and creepy moments in cinema. A delusional, forgotten star enjoying the last moment of attention — even with a crowd of cops awaiting to take her to jail.

Norma Desmond came to mind today as it was disclosed that Democratic mayors in cities with struggling programs and funding shortfalls will be spending millions to prepare them to answer questions about their sanctuary city policies.  Mayors Michelle Wu of Boston, Brandon Johnson of Chicago, Mike Johnston of Denver and Eric Adams of New York will appear before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

At a time when the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is releasing a litany of examples of wasteful spending by the Biden Administration, Democratic mayors appear entirely unconcerned over the public backlash in spending millions to prepare for a hearing to answer questions about their immigration policies.

These are long-standing policies that the mayors have previously addressed, but they are clipping taxpayers in cities where the money could be better used for education and other programs.

Boston’s WCVB reported that the city expects to pay up to $650,000 to the law firm Cahill Gordon & Reindel to help Wu prepare for the hearing.

Denverite reports that Denver Mayor Mike Johnston has hired the gold-plated firm Covington & Burling. a contract that could reach as much as $2 million.

As a general matter, the public should expect political figures to be prepared to answer questions about their policies without such massive expenditures of public funds. They (and their staffs) are paid to be fully versed on the costs and record of their policies.

Indeed, these mayors have their own full-time counsel on their staffs. Even if there is a perceived need for D.C. counsel, the cap on costs should be far less than has been reported.

Otherwise, we are left with an equally unnerving entrance of Wu (and others) into the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform:

  1. I’ve been thinking often, since the announcement of the murder of the Bibas’ children, about all the parents and children hunted down, maimed, and slaughtered by Hamas on October 7. Israel compiled Hamas body cam footage from that massacre, and made it available to journalists, foreign governments, and various other individuals. One scene was described thus: Hamas broke into a home to find a family. They blinded the father so he couldn’t fight, chopped off the leg of the little girl, and the hands of the little boy. It devolved from there. This scene is what I think of when I see people wearing keffiyeh, and harassing Jewish people here in the US. Knowing what Hamas did to children October 7, I worried about the littlest hostages. Sure enough, Hamas strangled those babies to death, a month after kidnapping them, and then stoned them to make it look like they died in a bombing. Lord knows what they did to their mother before murdering her, too.

How we should deal with Hamas, and Israel, is yet another issue for which Democrats have chosen wrongly. While still providing some funds to Israel, former President Biden actively interfered with Israel going into Rafa to rescue hostages who were still alive, by threatening to withdraw funding for the Iron Dome. The position of Biden and most Democrats was to leave Hamas intact, and restrain Israel from destroying this genocidal terrorist network pledged to kill all Jews.

This masterful painting, “The Massacre of the Innocents”, by Leon Cogniet, reminds me of October 7. The baby boy in the foreground looks like the Bibas infant.

  2. Ben Shapiro aptly pointed out that Democrats are on the wrong side of 80/20 issues today.

An overwhelming majority of Americans support deportations. Democrats fight deportations. Every country that I know of enforces federal immigration law, and turn people away at the border or deport them if found in the interior. Democrats have argued that the American economy relies on illegal immigration, ignoring that any such reliance formed because of their efforts against enforcing immigration laws. It’s the same logic they used to argue in favor of slavery, claiming that American agriculture would collapse without the slaves.

A majority of Americans oppose biological males competing in women’s sports, breaking women’s records, and taking women’s awards and scholarships. Democrats are fighting to force women to compete against males.

A majority of Americans oppose allowing biological males, with intact genitalia, into private women’s spaces like bathrooms, locker rooms, showers, battered women’s shelters, and women’s prisons. It’s an obvious safety issue, as well as humiliating for women. Democrats fight to force women to share public spaces and women’s prisons with intact males. This has resulted in rapes, indecent exposure, harassment, and pregnancies, such as in women’s prisons and the Wi Spa.

A majority of Americans want the war in Ukraine to end. Democrats met with Zelensky and urged him not to sign the peace deal shortly afterward, and to show his ire to President Trump on camera. Democrats were willing to sacrifice Ukrainian lives just to block President Trump from getting such an historic win 2 months into his presidency.

Most Americans support a 13 year old teenager who’s fought brain cancer since he was 7, at the President’s speech to Congress. Democrats refused to applaud for him, and I saw one roll her eyes and make a face.

    1. Karen S,
Great comment! And spot on! Who in their right mind votes against protecting women in women’s sports? Who would rather see a war continue, lives lost, just to deny a president reaching a peace agreement? Who would refuse to stand and applaud a cancer survivor?
      Democrats. The party of evil.

    2. @Karen

I’ve been seeing 80/20 mentioned a lot as a talking point of late, all over the place; and you are not wrong.

The modern left, the globalists are in the 20. We are fortunate enough to have our 1A, other countries are not so lucky.

It’s an aside, but cracks me up that any of them think they have free speech. what a joke. It relates in the fact that without our 1A, in America, there would otherwise *be* no 80/20. You might get arrested for your views in modern *Western* Europe, not even the supposedly awful parts. It’s time to stop giving the narrative any steam whatsoever. It is unfortunate, as I believe in a multiparty system, that our modern left are thick as thieves with these globalist thugs, and they are thugs; just a little bit more erudite than a south of the border cartel.

      1. It boggles my mind that people are getting arrested in the UK for FB posts and comments. Allowing any government to decide what speech should be criminalized, and what constitutes hate speech, destroys the basic human right to voice an opinion. The UK is sliding fast towards authoritarianism and social collapse, yet they scoffed at VP Vance’s warning.

  3. well if they lawyers are advising to continue crimes…JAIL them as well!

  4. only way to change Democrat minds
TAKE Away their money and if really bad JAIL THEM!

    Time is UP!

    “What is an Accomplice?”

“An accomplice is an individual who purposefully assists another individual with committing a crime. Under common law, this activity is usually referred to as aiding and abetting, in addition to other terms related to the commission of a crime, including:

    Prompting;
    Procuring;
    Soliciting; or
    Suggesting.

“If an accomplice assists, or helps, another individual commit a criminal offense, they may have the same liability and receive the same punishment as the individual who perpetrated the offense. An accomplice is required to have a certain mental state related to the perpetration or aiding in the commission of the crime.

“What Makes a Person an Accomplice?

“There are four classifications of an accomplice based upon their participation in the offense, including:

    – Principal in the first degree: This individual either physically commits the crime or commits it using an innocent instrumentality or human agent;

    – Principal in the second degree: This category of accomplice intentionally helps another individual commit a crime while in the presence of the principal in the first degree, for example, a lookout;

    – Accessory before the fact: This accomplice is not present at the crime scene but does solicit or command the principal in the first degree to commit the crime; and

    – Accessory after the fact: This accomplice deliberately helps the guilty party to avoid arrest, trial, or conviction. An accessory after the fact provides aid after the crime has already been committed.”

  6. Hello, I completely agree with Anonymous @ 12:39 a.m. If this is the hill that Democrats want to die on I say: “Go ahead!” The democrats are a “sick lot’ as the person @ 12:39 a.m. inferred. I believe the Republicans can correctly state the Democrats do not “follow the science”. It’s too bad at what has happened to the once great Democratic Party. They have lost middle America with their identity politics.

  7. ‘At a time when the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is releasing a litany of examples of wasteful spending by the Biden Administration. . . ‘

Ha, ha! that’s a good one. Many of these programs have existed long before Biden was installed like an Obama-era light bulb. and anyone crying about any of Trump’s repurposing – that is all he’s doing: repurposing things that already existed, in some cases for decades (like the immigration gold card, though granted, under previous administrations the price for entry was a mere one million dollars).

After last night, I do not know how the modern, globalist left expects us to see them as anything but petulant children when senior members have to be removed because they cannot listen as grown-ups (even Pelosi, sour faced and sorry she couldn’t tear up the speech, managed to get through it, Al). And we wonder why their kids are so effed up. America has turned a corner, and we are not going back; some of us may have differing personal values (I am not a religious conservative, for example, but sincerity matters: I think someone like Vance and I could be friends), but we can at least agree on that, and our solidarity in spite of those differences has got to last through 2026 and beyond.

I’m okay with disagreement, even in these comments. There is a bigger picture.

    1. James,
Great comment! After their lack of common decency and respect they put on full display for all to see and voting against protecting women in women’s sports, I can only conclude the Democrat party is the party of evil. America has made a turn for the better. We just have to keep fighting against the evil that lurks in our country for the betterment of all Americans but especially for our children and women.

      1. @Upstate

No doubt. I am glad these people are showing the world exactly who they are. Most parents love their children and want peaceful lives and to me, that’s about it. The modern left is the antithesis of that, and the doubling down just defies sanity at this point. I do not know who they think they are speaking to or what they hope to accomplish, but it’s almost silly at this point, not worthy of an uncomfortable laugh. It’s true: as pointed out by the Professor, the echo chambers just get smaller and smaller. That is a veritable recipe for self-destruction.

    2. As you said, an investor’s visa to the US, EB-5, has always existed. Its minimum investment used to be $800,000.

The UK also had a Tier 1 investors visa, which required 2 million. I believe that visa program just ended a few years ago.

Activists have deliberately portrayed the Gold Card as the only way to immigrate to the US, shutting out those of poor means, but it’s demonstrably false. The many different visas available to legally immigrate are still offered. Many others have no idea that investment visas are currently offered in countries around the world, to attract investment and economic growth.

  8. Dear Mr. Turley, “Gigi” is a perfect example of why I am not a Democrat. All they can do is name call. This is how they operate. Too bad “Gigi” doesn’t comment on the fact that all democratic Senators refused to protect Women and Girls’ sports. They also refused to honor a little boy who has survived the worse type of cancer. Also, they refused to acknowledge the young woman who still carries in her body the injuries caused by a male pretending to be a female. Sorry, democrats, men do not make better women. Stop trying to cancel women and girls. They are a sick lot.

  9. Democrats, the party of delusion; narcicists that love the spotlight; greedy that want money not theirs; men can be women and compete with actual women; protect theborder only if it is Ukraines!

  10. They can prepare all that they want but their answers are only valid with those who already support them; and that is a constantly shrinking group. Let them obfuscate at will, but the facts and the dollars or taxpayer money are what they are – there is no hiding that.

  11. Really? This is an issue? Every politician has this kind of preparedness. Even Congressmen and Senators have these resources, all paid for at taxpayer expense. There is an entire industry dedicated to this. Even people who have been subpoenaed get help to prepare for a hearing or committee deposition.

There’s nothing wrong with it. Mayors, especially those from big cities, have these kinds of resources available when they need them.

Towns and cities with sanctuary policies or state sanctuary laws wouldn’t have to divert money from those programs Turley talks about if the Republicans and Trump keep threatening them with demands that they are not obligated to follow. Illinois made compelling arguments against Trump’s DOJ about states and cities not cooperating with ICE and the DOJ on immigration policy.

The Tenth Amendment of the United States Constitution establishes that powers not delegated to the federal government nor prohibited to the states are reserved for the states and the people. This means that no state is required to assist or be compelled to help the federal government in carrying out its responsibilities, including enforcing federal laws such as immigration policy. The Supreme Court has consistently held that states cannot be mandated to perform tasks on behalf of the federal government.

Importantly, while states cannot actively obstruct federal operations, such as preventing ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) or the Department of Homeland Security from conducting immigration raids, they have the legal right to refrain from cooperating with federal authorities. States can choose to frustrate the process by withholding assistance or resources. This refusal to assist does not constitute obstruction of justice or an illegal act; instead, it is a constitutional exercise of their rights under the Tenth Amendment.

This concept encompasses not only the dynamics between state governments and federal authorities but also extends to the interactions involving individual citizens. In scenarios where law enforcement is actively conducting an investigation, it is important to recognize that private citizens hold the right to decline participation. Legally, individuals are not required to assist law enforcement by answering questions or providing information unless they have been formally summoned or are involved in a situation where their involvement is mandated by law.

It is essential to understand that police officers cannot compel individuals to cooperate or to respond to their inquiries if those individuals choose not to do so. This principle is deeply rooted in the foundational rights and liberties afforded to citizens, ensuring that there is a clear boundary protecting personal autonomy. The ability to refuse cooperation is a manifestation of individual freedoms, serving as a safeguard against potential overreach by authorities. Consequently, both state governments and private citizens hold the right to uphold their autonomy when confronted with federal oversight, reinforcing the vital balance between compliance and individual rights in a democratic society.

States and cities have the law and the constitution on their side and ample precedent to refuse to cooperate. Sure, the government can deny federal funds and whatnot, but it won’t help the DOJ or ICE’s goal if they don’t have the necessary resources to enforce the law on their own—not at the level they need to achieve Trump’s goals.

Recently, a group of judges issued a ban on the arrest and detention of illegal immigrants on courthouse grounds. Judges have jurisdiction over these areas; thus, neither ICE nor the DOJ can conduct arrests or detentions there. Since judges are part of a separate branch of government, the DOJ cannot contest this ruling as illegal. Even Trump’s EO’s permitting such arrests is unconstitutional because it assumes courthouses are not under the jurisdiction of the judicial branch.

    1. George-Can you put all of that on a ping pong paddle for brevity and clarity.

      1. GEB, surely you’re smart enough to get it. Some here demand details and minutae because simple doesn’t seem to satifsy their ignorance. But, if you want simple, sure.

Turley’s criticism is pure nonsense. Mayors and state governors wouldn’t have to divert money from programs, they really don’t, to prepare for hearings. Cities and states often have rainy day funds or reserves just for this kind of thing. This isn’t new or extravegant. Turley is just looking for an excuse to gripe about mayors doing their job and being prepared by having others help them. It means they know better than to go unprepared and by seeking expert help, even fancy law groups shows they are being smart about it.

Trump can’t prepare even if he was given carte blanche access to the best. He’s too stupid to retain everything they tell him. You can tell when he’s forced to read from a paper on the podium and he struggles to read it coherently without looking like a hapless high schooler.

        1. #9. …and that makes it perfectly fine to waste our taxpayer dollars on idiocy that benefits an elected individual, instead of being spent on something, anything, that benefits the public from which it was taken? Which particular pot it was placed in after the government confiscated it, hardly matters to the victim who now has that much less income to live on.

        2. George-Still waiting for the ping pong paddle with brevity and clarity and now add reason.

    2. Actually, Article VI Clause 2 of the Constitution says otherwise:

      “Clause 2 Supremacy Clause

This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.”

It also means all elected officials are bound by Federal Law, including immigration law.

      1. But you forget the 10th Amendment makes states sovereign within a federal system. They are not required to do the job of the federal government. They can refuse all day long. The federal government is in charge of immigration enforcement, not the states, and no law requires states to cooperate. Keep in mind that an EO is NOT a law. Trump cannot force states to assist in his immigration efforts in any way. They cannot prevent the federal government from enforcing it on their own. The Constitution establishes that powers not delegated to the federal government nor prohibited to the states are reserved for the states and the people. Only Congress can create a law that could force states to cooperate, but that would be very unlikely because it would make a precedent that could be used against Red states in the future.

The Supremacy clause only applies if Congress makes a law; Trump is demanding cooperation because he issued an Executive order, which is NOT a federal law.

  12. Wow! After last night’s firehose of lies and that shameful display of narcissistic sociopathy, Turley tries to be cool and makes a reference to classic cinema. Of course, because he’s well paid to do so, Turley attacks Democratic mayors, does not question the debunked lies by claiming that unelected bureaucrat and real President Musk is “releasing a litany of examples of wasteful spending by the Biden Administration”. There aren’t 150 year olds receiving Social Security benefits or millions of dead people receiving checks–that has been debunked. Biden didn’t leave this country “very low”, and Trump’s stupid tariffs will kill our economy. For you, shame left the building a long time ago, Turley–and stop trying to be cool by referencing classic cinema. You don’t even understand the basic premise of Norma Desmond in “Sunset Boulevard”.

    1. Oh, and don’t forget that the pig said “we” were going to “retake” the Panama Canal–how do you “retake” something that never was yours in the first place, and that “we will” take Greenland and that “we” respect their right to self-determination–Greenland does not want to be part of the United States, and neither does Canada. All the hog does is insult and alienate our allies and neighbors. Do Republicans fight back against these grandiose displays of malignant narcissism? No.

      1. The agreement was reached alongside a deal in principle for BlackRock and its Global Infrastructure Partners unit, along with Mediterranean Shipping Co.’s ports division, to acquire units that hold 80% of the Hutchison Ports group, which operates 43 ports in 23 countries, the company said Tuesday in a statement.

The consortium will also acquire 90% of Panama Ports Co., which operates the two entryways in Balboa and Cristobal. CK Hutchison said it would receive cash proceeds of about $19 billion from the broader ports deal.
        https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-03-04/ck-hutchison-sells-panama-ports-to-blackrock-amid-trump-pressure

That is how. How are you so poorly informed?

        1. An agreement….in principle. That’s a big clue that it’s mostly talk. Panama still retains control of the canal. What they are doing is granting access to ports within the canal. It doesn’t mean they give up control of it. They can change their minds anytime and likely any agreement will include a provision that the authority to control the canal remains with the government of Panama, not the U.S.

The ports are irrelevant. Panama still gets the fees for any ship transiting the canal. Including U.S. flagged ships. Trump didn’t win anything. He thought the Chinese controlled the canal, that was never true. Panama controls the canal, not the ports. A big difference. You’re also poorly informed.

        1. They are talking about buying, and it’s not the canal, it’s ports on either end of the canal entrances. Panaman still retains control of the canal itself. They still control the fees to transit through the canal. Trump didn’t “win” anything.

      2. Haha, Gigi (ironically, I had a friend once who named her piglet Gigi)…. you and your fellow mindless minions have been reduced to calling names and sputtering because of all the great things going on – how embarrassing. Please understand that we are laughing, not WITH you but AT, you. The American people will decide for themselves in four years whether or not his Presidency was a success, despite your braying.

      3. In response to “Gigi”, 3/5 @1224pm.

Blather all you wish, troll/traitor/whichever, but the actual American tax payers have had enough of you and your putrid “representatives” (local/state/federal…we see them clearly now). We do have to take some responsibility for allowing things to get as sideways as they have…we were busy living normal lives and not being obsessed with holding power over our fellow “citizens”. But that’s over now. We are awake, our eyes (and our noses) have been opened to your abnormalities. So…

        WE. WILL. MAKE. YOU. COMPLY.

With our immigration actions. With our repudiation of the “trans” freakshow and all it’s evil effects on the young/vulnerable and on OUR daughters, granddaughters and all NORMAL women. With our gutting of the deep state money machine that has stolen OUR TAX DOLLARS for decades and used it AGAINST THE USA. With our reclamation of US assets wherever the hell they are. With our alliance/annexation of buffer zones to help protect the homeland. With our relentless pursuit of corruption in our government(s) going back in time AS FAR AS WE HAVE TO in order to make sure treason is found and a light shined on it for all to see. And with our dealing with those traitors publicly and brutally.

And we will make you comply by whatever means necessary. Sound familiar? Get out while you can. Or simply STFU and STFD.

  13. Until such time as a couple of these bozos lose at the polls, this insanity will continue. The consequences of a one-party state (city)

    1. All the corruption of the Joe Biden persona and psyche was known 50 years ago; it went unspoken by the likes of the monumental Chuck Fraud.

    2. The story is that the media ran interference for former President Biden, refusing to notice his cognitive decline leading up to the 2020 election, and ignoring the cognitive free fall in office.

This collusion to protect Biden from being removed from office for mental incapacity, despite being found incompetent (an elderly man with a poor memory) to be charged in the mishandling of classified information, should be one of the biggest stories in journalism in our lifetime.

We all know how different it would be if it had been Trump.

      1. Karen S,
The cover up, ignoring the obvious we all knew and saw even when he was campaigning from the basement, was the biggest scandal of the 21st century. Until Musk and DOGE uncovered all the fraud, waste and abuse in the government. Biden’s mental decline and MSM compliance to cover it up is a close second though.

        1. If Biden was “obviously” incompetent , how did he manage to: 1. get COVID under control, by marshaling extra-cold freezers, PPE, syringes and people to administer vaccines–things Trump didn’t do; 2. get passed: the CHIPS Act, Infrastructure Act, regulations to make airlines pay for delayed or cancelled flights, expanded overtime guarantees, made oral contraceptives available over the counter, renewable energy initiatives, regulations to prevent discrimination in mortgages, via the CFPB, cut down on “junk fees” (Trump shut down the CFPB), created an army of drones to counter China, accelerated cancer research (Trump has since fired cancer researchers), lowered prescription drug prices, capped insulin at $35 per month, increased availability of telemedicine, and an historic petroleum production.

The “biggest scandal” of the 21st Century is a chronic, habitual liar and convicted felon lying to get into power by promising to immediately bring down the cost of groceries–something he had no plan or ability to do. After getting into office, he sold the power to bully federal employees to his biggest campaign donor, who sent 19 and 20 somethings into government offices to download, on their PCs, our tax returns, bank account information and other highly confidential information–they could sell or give it away to the highest bidder–these people, and Musk were not elected into office nor did they receive FBI background checks. And, the pig removed sanctions from Russia and ordered our cybersecurity unit to stop monitoring Russian hackers who are accessing our electronic information. He is trying to get the G-7 to take Russia back, lies about the US “retaking” the Panama Canal–that never was “ours”, bullies our Canadian and Mexican neighbors, and claims he “will take” Greenland–bluster and bloviating. He shut off aid to starving people via USAID. He is an embarrassment to the United States and the rest of the civilized world.

The rise of billionaire-owned MAGA media spreading lies to sell Trump is the second-worse scandal. That loser trash never heard of journalistic standards, and it constantly not only peddles lies and misinformation, it lies about mainstream media being unreliable.

      2. Karen S: why do you go on these occasional rants? Biden was not in “cognitive decline” and there was no “collusion to protect Biden from being removed from office”—all MAGA media BS gullible people like you choose to believe. If any one is in “cogntive decline”, it’s Trump–he keeps repeating the same memes “drill, baby, drill”, “we will retake the Panama Canal”, lies about Social Security, lies about millions of dead people and people over 150 years old receiving benefits, and makes up figures about nonexistent waste fraud and abuse. Biden did NOT deliberately take classified documents–but Trump DID–he stole them, refused to return them, lied about returning them and had them moved around to prevent his lawyer from returning them. He was INDICTED by a grand jury for these crimes, and the SCOTUS deliberately slow-walked it’s unprecedented “immunity” decision to prevent him from being convicted of these crimes.

“How different it would be if it had been Trump”? WTF are you talking about? Trump has gotten away with not just deliberately stealing classified documents and lying, but starting an insurrection that left 5 people dead, including one of his fans. Biden is the one who got America back to work, back to school, back to having vacations, got restaurants and hotels opened up again, and got COVID under control after the mess your fat hero left for him to deal with–the worst recession since the Great Depression. He repaired our fractured relationships with our EU and NATO allies, imposed sanctions against Russia and Finland and Sweden joined NATO. Trump is just a malignant narcissist who can’t stop lying, who sold the power to fire federal employees–a massive ego trip— to his largest campaign donor, who has allowed his employees to download highly confidental information like Social Security numbers, bank accounts and tax returns. He has insulted and alienated our Canadian and Mexican neighbors, and makes grandiose statements like “we will retake Panama”–“we”, meaning the United States, never “owned” Panama. He also claims “we” will make Canada a state and take Greenland. He lied about Zelenskyy being a dictator who started the war with Russia and tried to force him to grovel in order to receive aid Congress already appropriated–when Zelenskyy wouldn’t do it, the pig took away the aid. Last night’s performance of the Trump show, complete with bobble heads, was a pathetic display of malignant narcissism and a firehose of lies, bluster and bloviating.

        1. gigi is a malignant liar. A word she likes to overuse, so we know she understands it. Or maybe not, she’s not very smart.

  14. They, the Mayors, would be better off funding a legal defense fund, for when the indictments come down.

    1. Indictments for flagrant violations of constitutional immigration law and U.S. Code, up to and including treason for “adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort,” those enemies being foreign countries, foreign security services, drug cartels, etc.

One can only hope that the CIA et al. are all over the background of Michele Wu to her very birth, when, in all likelihood, she was recruited by the MSS.

  15. Most excellent lead in. Yet, as goes the old joke, the insanity of these mayors is an insult to Norma’s. She was comparatively sugar and spice, and … . Happily, it is doubtful that at least 3 or the 4 mayors will not connect with your humor.

  16. a super effective video clip as well! These mayos are about this creepy, and unaware.

  17. Wu was in the news a few days ago for expressing condolences for a knife-wielding perp who was killed by police. Democrats get everything backwards:

    1. After witnessing Democrats lack of decency and respect last night and voting against protecting women in women’s sports, Wu does not surprise me. When you see evil, call it out.

    2. Supporting criminals over law abiding citizens and police is another 80/20 issue Democrats have gotten wrong.

  18. That is outrageous and unnecessary but the Mayors do not care just as they do not care about the harm their sanctuary cities have cased their citizens.

  19. I wonder if their gold plated counsel will advise invoking the protection of the 5th amendment?
