Dem Rep. Balint Under Fire Over Insulting Claim About Undocumented Immigrants

There is a curious narrative emerging from Democratic politicians and pundits in support of the millions of undocumented persons who entered under the Biden Administration: they are perfect for menial tasks. Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D., Texas) even argued that we need Hispanic immigrants to do things like pick our cotton. That seemed to echo the sentiments of Rep. Jerry Nadler (D. N.Y.), who warned that, without undocumented workers, we would not have anyone to pick our crops. Not to be outdone, Rep. Becca Balint (D., Vt.) opposed the efforts of the Trump Administration to close the border and deport unlawful immigrants because “we’re not going to have anyone around to wipe our a–es.” I wonder why Democrats are losing Hispanic voters.

Rep. Balint told Vermonters that  “we all know our ag system in Vermont would collapse without labor.” She maintained:
“If we don’t have avenues for people to come here legally to work or to build a home here, I’m going to be really crude right now, we’re not going to have anyone around to wipe our asses – because we don’t have enough people in our country now to fill the jobs that we have right now…”
Balint is not the only Vermont politician raising eyebrows this month. Vermont has become ground zero for socialism with the rise of Sen. Bernie Sanders.  State Rep. Teddy Waszazak, D-Barre, seemed ready for the central planners this month when he declared

“Right now, our system is rigged against working people, our poorest neighbors, and the most vulnerable members of our communities. I feel very strongly about this — I feel the need to say this. The market picks winners and losers — it is the job of the government and tax code to right-size that.”

“Right sizing” the market has led to some of the most disastrous federal subsidies and programs in history. It is really not the “market” picking winners and losers. It is the aggregate of individual customers that is choosing products and services that they want.

On Sanders’ official website, a then-21-year-old Waszazak was shown professing how the American dream is dead, disputing the claim that “if you work hard, if you go to school, you will eventually be able to buy a house, have kids, and have whatever job you want to have… And I don’t think that’s true at all today.”

It is a crisis of faith in our system that is evident in calls to trash the Constitution, pack the Court, and counter the free market.

  1. Trump vs. Elon. Old school baby daddy vs new school baby daddy. Orange vs Black. Whiner-blamer-ultimate-victim vs. tech-bro-richest-man. I give the edge to Trump. His whining and blaming turns his base on way more than Elon’s space ‘n’ money.

  2. To be fair, racist rednecks in pickup trucks still certainly exist, but they are a tiny, dying (thankfully) minority, they are universally cowards, and quite literally most of us stand against them. This does not excuse the modern DNC. They double down on it so hard there is no distinguishing between them and the bucktoothed Cletuses they decry that still wander among us. They just don’t get it, and they never will.

    1. You support a profoundly unethical and immoral man in Donald Trump. Any businessman who would bankrupt his companies and leave creditors and employees holding the bag 6 times for the same reason over and over – because he doesn’t pay his bills – is as bad as Bernie Madoff. That’s Trump. Any father who agrees his daughter is a piece of ass or says he would date her if she weren’t his daughter is as sick as a hardcore porn operator. 90 deals in 90 days. 1 deal to show with a few days left. Stop the Ukraine war in 24 hours? You support this person, who has yet to show he’s capable of leading the country. You’re right, I don’t get it.

      1. Yet a man like Biden who is a plagiarist and VP under Obama who changed the rules of engagement in gulf War causing the verified deaths of 199 soldiers. I voted for Trump for the exact reasons that he is a business man. The federal government is hemorrhaging debt. It has to be curbed. My only sadness is the employees he hasn’t fired yet. One I know of led a terrible audit in Minnesota. She remains employed. In fact she is Deputy Secretary at ACL. https://www.auditor.leg.state.mn.us/fad/2023/fad23-04.htm

      2. Tell us you voted for that virue pile of dung and corruption Joey Briben without telling us you did.

    2. The funny part is that the very last thing the Left wants is “Diversity of Thought”. What they demand is rigid conformity in many skin colors.

  3. Apparently DoorDash has just delivered huge orders of popcorn to the Biden and Harris residences.

  4. BREAKING

Kash Patel has invited Elon for a “chat” at his Las Vegas home.

I think they are planning a Cybertruck trip out into the desert.

  5. Of course there is a much bigger question related to the Trump Musk spat.

What’s going to happen to Big Balls.

  6. OT, Greta Thunberg’s “how dare you” eco-scolding has faded from the news. As a result, she’s starved for media attention. So she has turned to the world’s easiest standby – Jew hatred. For its part, Hamas leaders have agreed to surrender if Europe will just take her back, PLEASE!

    https://babylonbee.com/news/hamas-agrees-to-surrender-if-europe-will-take-greta-thunberg-back

“Please, don’t let this happen! We will do whatever it takes to keep her away,” said Hamas spokesterrorist Abu Muhammed Zahir. “While we have a reputation for perpetrating violent and ruthless acts against our enemies, sending Greta Thunberg here is far beyond any definition of cruel and unusual punishment. We offer Israel our total surrender if Europe agrees to have this wretched harpy turn her ship around and go back to wherever she came from. Thank you, and death to Israel and America.”

  7. Elon has suddenly stopped sh!tposting.
He hasn’t posted for over an hour

There is a rumor that he has fallen out of a very high window.

    1. Probably figured out he has no evidence and he’s about to get a yuuuge defamation law suit filed. He needs to go into rehab before he loses everything including X.

  8. Stephen Miller is at an emergency meeting in the Oval tonight.

Apparently they are working on a plan to revoke Elon’s citizenship and deport him to El Salvador.

  9. Who would have ever thunk that a president would put a recession in his first year—that’s never been done before.

    Except forever.

Reagan being the best, most recent example.

  10. Stephen Miller cancelled an appearance on Kudlow tonight at the last minute because of an emergency meeting in the Oval Office.

    I wonder what’s going on ?????

    1. Stephen Miller’s wife, Katie, left the her Whitehouse job last week to “WORK ????”
      for Elon.

      Any updates on that ????

            1. They already have a name for the baby- Adolph.

But they plan to use the nickname Fuhrer

      1. Elon says that there is absolutely nothing between him and Katie Miller.
He says he never uses condoms.

  11. The D’s are being disingenuous. Again. They want as many illegals as possible because they believe it would increase votes for D candidates. When they can’t win on the merits, they resort to lying and creating an open border.

  12. “I wanted to be co-president; they didn’t tell me there’s no such thing as co-president.”

“I’m brilliant; I didn’t know that words mean things and presidents do the things they say with their words.”

“There will be a recession in the second half of this year; who would have ever thunk that a president would put a recession in his first year—that’s never been done before.”

    – Elon

      1. John Say

As you know Trump said today that Elon knew more about the Big Beautiful Bill than anyone else.
However Elon said that is FALSE, and that he never saw it.
        One of them is lying.

I am eagerly awaiting your 50,000 word treatise explaining in great detail how both of them are actually telling the truth.

        Please don’t hold back.
I know you are capable of coming up with a completely insane explanation of how both of them are telling the truth.

        1. *. DJT was referencing all the waste, fraud and abuse in it. He’s a realist and knows congress must have it. Any savings over 10 years, term, makes it beautiful.

Musk was denying it because of its waste fraud and abuse.

      1. “Aninny The Clairvoyant!”

Why hasn’t Aninny taken his talents to Vegas?

        What’s he doin’ heah?

      2. That is correct. But it is highly unlikely that it will collapse in the 2nd half of this year.

That is actually unfortunate as there are really only two ways to deal with spending.
Choose to make drastic cuts now,
or be forced to make far more drastic cuts later.

But later could actually be many years

AS goes the US economy – so goes the world economy.
Unlike Greece the entire would has excellent reason NOT to hold the US to fire fiscally.

A collapse of the US economy will not occur until we are unable to borrow more money.

          1. Why should I be on Wall Street ? I have multiple jobs already.

Regardless my past posts on economics are available for everyone to read.

Can you cite one that has been incorrect ?

With respect to the one you are responding to.

What part of it is incorrect ?

Do you think the world economy can survive a US economic hiccup – much less a large scale collapse ?

Almost a century ago the US economy took a nose dive. The US was a far smaller part of the world economy then, and yet the great depression which started in the US and was caused by bad US monetary policy,
still took down much of the world economy – though not as badly or for as long a the US economy.

The economies of nearly all other nations are incredibly fragile at the moment.

Trump is taking credit for massive investment in the US – but MOST of that was inevitable.

For all our VERY SERIOUS problems, the US is still by far the strongest economy in the world.

I am not saying we should not fix our spending nd debt problems.
I am not saying that if we do not act drastically now that in the future we will not even have choices.

I am only saying that the world will prop up the US economy until they are no longer able to,
because they are in worse shape and a US economic sniffles will bring pneumonia to the rest of the world.

We are not that close to a real day of recconing
But we are at a point – and have been for a long time,
where fiscal responsibility now will dramatically reduce the forcibly imposed pain later.

What part of that do you disagree with ?

Instead of ad hominem – how about a reasoned debate ?

  13. Professor Turley, Are you still calling on President Trump to award Musk the Presidential Medal of Freedom like you did in your May 30th blog post?

  14. (I’m sorry if this posts twice, gov internet is as good as we pay for it)
    Rabble here.
Since this one is about immigration, and I’m stuck proctoring a test, I thought I would give a math problem that’s been bugging me for a while on this issue: the movement of people.

There are 195 countries in the world. Per Google-box, there are no self-identifying non-white minority countries, but it “note[s] that over 85% of the global population is of African, Asian, indigenous, Latin American, or mixed-heritage backgrounds.” 85% of 195 is 165.75, so round it to 166 countries for a barebones average of non-white majority countries. Another search gives an approximate 47.8 million immigrants (did not ask it to specify legal vs not) in the US per a 2023 partial census, around 14.3% of our population.
Other data that ties into this:
    Approximate pop of C America: 184.7 M (7 countries)
    of S America: 437.5 M (12 countries)
    Africa: 1.54 B (54 countries)
My question is, if these 70 countries lost a roughly combined 47 million citizens to come to the USA, would their population numbers not reflect that? For a more specific example, we have, apparently, 770,000 reported illegal Venezuelans in the USA, from a country of 31.3 M (2024 numbers). If a country lost 2.46% of it’s population, that’s a massive deal, and would we not see some kind of report on that? Our wired-in world hasn’t seen anything like that (I’ve looked).

The biggest question is, *where are these 47 Million coming from?* I’m not saying it isn’t happening, I’m just saying our reports and the silence I hear from other countries (except for the loud squealing when we send these numbers back) don’t add up, and it gives me a grand sense of unease that something isn’t adding up.

    1. *where are these 47 Million coming from?*

BTW F.Y.I. (We know – You just wanted to Know)
If everyone on Earth (all 8 billion People) peed into the Grand Canyon at the same time, they would only add about 4 Billion gallons a day.

Since half of them live inside the Asian Circle, that’s 2 Billion gallons of Pee a day.
      An extinction event is forthright.
