Jennifer Welch Declares that Kirk “Justified” His Own Assassination

In an age of rage, the loudest lunatic reigns supreme. The sudden rise of Jennifer Welch vividly proves that regrettable fact. Welch is the face of rage, spewing hate-filled attacks to feed a rage addiction on the left. She is also an example of how many on the left call for censorship to combat disinformation, but constitute some of the greatest sources of such false and misleading stories. This week offers another such example. After attacking Charlie Kirk’s widow as a “grifter,” Welch declared that Kirk “justified” his own killing. The basis for that disgraceful claim is a false viral claim that Kirk shrugged off the killing of school kids from gun violence. Despite being repeatedly debunked, liberals like Welch continue to spread the claim.

Welch told former CNN host Don Lemon:

“The person that I heard that justified his death was him. He’s the one that said on tape that if school kids die, but it means he gets to have a Second Amendment, then that’s what it’s going to be. He’s the one that justified it.

And I believe at the time of shooting, he was talking about gun violence at the time. That’s wild to me, number one. And then for her — I want to get your opinion on this as a Black man — for her to say that people are dehumanizing Charlie Kirk.”

Kirk’s assassination presented a dual inconvenience for many: having to express sorrow for the death of someone with opposing views while acknowledging only the latest example of political violence by the left.

The solution was to shrug off the murder as another example of “asking for it.” I have heard such views on my own campus. To justify such a despicable, amoral position, many latched onto a series of false claims from Kirk, calling Asians a vile term, to this ridiculous claim.

The key to feeding a rage addiction is also to assure your customers that it is not their fault and that their hate is justified. The false story about Kirk dismissing the killing of children offers precisely that license to get your hate on with Jennifer Welch.

Obviously, such rage rhetoric occurs on both sides. Indeed, President Donald Trump responded to the murder of critic Rob Reiner by suggesting that his “Trump Derangement Syndrome” was somehow connected to his death. (Reiner’s son has been arrested). The Truth Social posting was a callous posting and should be deleted.

Kirk was responding to a question about defending the Second Amendment. He pointed out that this constitutional right is “is there, God forbid, so that you can defend yourself against a tyrannical government.” However, he acknowledged that  “having an armed citizenry comes with a price, and that is part of liberty.” He then responded to the claim that this right is killing people and that it is not worth a single life. Kirk argued that there will clearly always be examples of gun violence and that it is ridiculous to treat the right as invalid if such deaths occur:

“You will never live in a society when you have an armed citizenry and you won’t have a single gun death. That is nonsense. It’s drivel. But I am — I think it’s worth it. I think it’s worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights. That is a prudent deal. It is rational. Nobody talks like this. They live in a complete alternate universe.”

Kirk, who was deeply religious and had children of his own, never dismissed the deaths of school children. He was saying that, despite tragic deaths, the right was still essential in our constitutional system. Anyone who favors the right inherently holds the same view that abuses of such rights can occur, but that does not mean that the right itself is illegitimate.

It is the type of low-grade argument made against the right of free speech. In debates, I am often confronted with those citing hate speech or disinformation to support censorship. Critics will cite how the Nazis use free speech, even repeating the false claim that free speech was somehow responsible for bringing Hitler to power. CBS anchor Margaret Brennan even suggested that free speech contributed to the holocaust.

The point is that people will abuse free speech as they will abuse gun rights. They will also abuse religious rights and associational rights in committing crimes. The point is that these rights are greater than such abuses. That was the point that Kirk was making.

None of this matters, of course. Welch has found her niche on the hate spectrum. The New York Times even did a largely favorable profile because she has the right type of hate.

She and others will continue not only to inject it directly into the veins of her listeners but also to fan the rage by assuring them that they are not at fault. They are not hateful in engaging in such hateful rhetoric. It is not your problem, it is their problem.

That is the whole point of a podcast called “I’ve had it.” Many have had it with civility, decency, and accuracy. What remains is sheer mendacity and madness.

  1. I’m willing to bet that more than half the people watching and commenting on Welch’s content are conservatives incensed by her content. If you want to see rage subside, stop feeding the beast. Do as your parents told you and ignore. Her hate, which is primarily performance art, will fade into obscurity.

  2. “In an age of rage, the loudest lunatic reigns supreme” – Prof. Turley

What can those of us not swept up by zealotry (the 80/20 majority) do to restore civility, authenticity and open-mindedness to the public square? Prof. Turley, you’re the legal eagle — tell us what are our options to reestablish guardrails and standards over what gets put out for public consumption.

Don’t we need editors, content moderators, and curators who are mature human beings operating with common sense judgment? Like we had in the post-war period up until the mid 2000s? Why can’t we revisit Section 230 and treat digital platform operators as publishers, subject to the same legal hazards as print and TV execs? Are we to be overlorded by algorithms?

You decry the impact of rage rhetoric, but never offer a plan to do anything about it (except gripe about cases of rage in your daily posts). That format is growing tiresome. Can’t you be more proactive?

    1. The means of correction is to not take part. That’s how cuture gets created, by people choosing to partake in some activities but not others. The “wrong” behaviors will wither and fade. I understand how difficult that is particularly when the rage game is the norm, and we all feel the need to respond, to take part. The correct response is to walk away, and watch the rage wither and die, not demand overlords to protect us from everyone else’s bad behaviors.

  3. The left wish that Trump would have been killed. They celebrate the death of Charlie Kirk.
How is this any different than the wishes of the muslim shooters in Australia. A Democratic Attorney General in a blue state said he dreamt of Charlie Kirks children dying in their mother’s arms after having been shot. How is this any different than the dreams of the shooters in Australia. Right out of the Hamas hatred for Jews handbook. Not an ounce of difference by the left.

  4. “Jennifer Welch Declares that Kirk “Justified” His Own Assassination”

Someone should ask Welch why she should not be judged as having done exactly the same as a result of her polemic: justified her own murder. I would not agree with that premise. However, I neither would I shed a single tear over her demise at the hands of someone who did agree with it.

  5. In Connie Chung’s recent interview she said she doesn’t watch CBS news because “truth doesn’t hold value anymore,”

  6. There is no more violent group of intolerant extremists than leftwing fascists like Welch and those of her ilk.

  7. It has been reported that the Reiners were stabbed to death. Chances are that had they been armed with a handgun, and were willing to use it to protect themselves, they would have prevailed in a knife fight.

    1. It was their own son Vincente, they probably never imagined he would kill them. A knife wound is often little more than an initial sting, you’re dead and don’t know it yet. Even if armed I would doubt someone like Rob Reiner could shoot his own child. Wasn’t a meat head fan but NOBODY deserves that kind of death, horrific.

  8. House Speaker Mike Johnson said that leftists “actually celebrating” Kirk’s murder “tells you everything you need to know about that side.”

    DJT on Rob Reiner…
“A very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood. Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS.”

Anybody heard anything from Mike Johnson?

    1. Trumps remarks – you only cited part of them were correct.

However, it is generally offensive to speak ill of the dead – especially just after they were killed.
But unlike left wing nuts Trump did not say that Reiner deserved this, nor that he was glad Reiner was dead.

I absolutley hated Reiners politics. But I loved his acting and his movies.
That is true of very many from hollywood.

Regardless, Trump’s remarks were inappropriate. He should apologize, but it is not likely he will.

      1. John.
        Can you blame Prez Trump.
Since 2016 he has been called everything in the book. Nearly murdered and not a single lib said anything.
        Heck they wished him dead.

        1. I am not blaming Trump.
But I am asking him to be the better Person.

Reiner immediately condemned the assassination of Kirk – unlike many on the left.

You can celebreate someones deaths when they committed absolutely heinous acts – like Stalin or Mao or Hitler.

You do not blame people for their own death – even if there is some truth to it, who did not comitt heinous acts.

Trump is ACTING to reduce the Drug problems in the US. As a libertarian I do NOT agree with his approach to do so.
But my disagreement on methods and policies does not lead to attributing evil motives to Trump.

Trump is particularly trying to stem the flow of Fentanyl which significantly worse than most drugs – Fentanyl is way way to easily overdosed.

Trump is working to thwart the problem that ruined the life of Riener son and may have cost Reiner his life.

I am fortunate – none of my children have drug problems. But very very many other parents are not.
Regardless of his politics I can feel sympathy for Reiner’s problems with his son that appear to have lead to his and his wife’s death.

      2. John Say wrote: “I absolutley hated Reiners politics. But I loved his acting and his movies.

Regardless, Trump’s remarks were inappropriate. He should apologize, but it is not likely he will.”

Agree 100% One of Trump’s faults is that he seems incapable of the self-discipline required to keep his mouth shut when that is the appropriate behavior. He seems to be compelled to speak out publicly on any matter that holds an interest for him, and the scope of that domain appears to be immense…

        1. I don’t think Trump understands, when he makes someone famous’s death into an occasion to restate a personal grudge — naming himself several times as the victim– how much that lack of decency and respect costs him. Remember, Biden ran on “a return to decency” and not much else, and won.

Trump is playing ping-pong politics, setting the stage for the opposition to regain control by constantly demonizing them. He doesn’t seem to understand anything about leaving a permanent imprint positively on institutions. The only thing that makes sense to him for improving the country is to keep the other party out of power in perpetuity. That is very unlikely. A more competent leader would seek to make permanent changes that no future President could undo.

All of his Exec. Orders evaporate when an opposition party President is sworn in. 8 years will have been squandered.

He just doesn’t get it. It’s always about himself.

          1. ‘I don’t think Trump understands, when he makes someone famous’s death into an occasion to restate a personal grudge — naming himself several times as the victim– how much that lack of decency and respect costs him.”

I think Trump does understand. I did not read Trump’s remarks as playing the victim so much as “I told you so”
Further this remark will cost Trump. But not alot. Trumps supporters – and even those like me grasp that he is not perfect.
Just the best we have got.

As Lincoln said of Grant “I can not spare him – He Fights”

” Remember, Biden ran on “a return to decency” and not much else, and won.”
Biden’s style was different from Trump’s.
But Biden wrapping himself in a mantle of decency is hillarious.
Biden said plenty of repugnant things – and given that he rarely spoke he said vile and stupid things much more frequently than Trump.
Biden not only publicly threatened to beat Trump up – but he did so with supporters at rallies that were insufficiently deferential.
Biden gets SOME excuse – because he was demented. But he was a vlie person long before his dementia set in.

Biden was the worst president in this countries history.

“Trump is playing ping-pong politics, setting the stage for the opposition to regain control by constantly demonizing them. Here I will completely disagree with you.
One of the reasons that we accept Trump’s remarks is because they are ALWAYS targeted at those who PREVIOUSLY did the same to him. Trump does not fire the first shot – ever.
Next, though it is NOT the norm for presidents and presidential candidates to engage in these remarks – The left has ALWAYS spewed bitter hateful remarks at the right – albeit not at the presidential level.
Trump has changed presidential policitcs likely forever – because he fights back. Whether you like it or not – that is how most people – and particularly Trump supporters see it – as they see it Trump is massively outgunned – he faces people like Reiner with significant bully pulpits, He faces nearly the entire MSM, and he faces all the proxies for his political opponents – and MOSTLY he does so ALONE.
That is reality – but more importantly that is also public perception.

            And finally – He Wins.

Next I think it is a grave mistake to underestimate Trump – I have done so on occasion. I do not support Trump – I did not vote for Trump.
But I do wish him to succeed – just as I prayed for Obama’s success – even if that meant disproving everything I beleived as true.
Unfortunately Obama proved my libertarian pinciples to be true and as a result was a pretty bad president.
We are now dealing with massive problems with Healthcare costs BECAUSE of PPACA.

Far too many people are clueless about FUNDIMENTAL economics.
If you subsidize something – Costs rise to capture the subsidy – often and then some. You can not make something more affordable by subsidizing it. Nor do price controls work – the exact negative impact of government meddling in the market is not always predictable, but the fact that you will always end up with either scarcity or price increases or both is inevitable.
There is no example ever of a government subsidy that did not increase prices.

Others here pointed out Trump is looking to bail out farmers – Yet soy prices are up 30% – The Farm subsidies are no different that PPACA except in scale. They are a mistake. The plan Trump is floating is less bad than PPACA but it is still at best a bandaid.
            Subsidies will increase prices.

Prices only go down in free markets – the laws of supply and demand ultimately mean that nearly all prices eventually go down.
While not the Focus of Julian Simon’s “The Ultimate Resource II” – there is massive amounts of data demonstrating this in his book.
Simon is also famous for his bet with Malthusian Paul Ehrlich – “The Population Bomb”. Simon bet that Ehrlich could not pick a basket of 10 comodites that over the course of a decade would increase in REAL dollars. Ehrlich picked 10 and a decade later ALL had DECREASED in REAL dollars and 7 had decreased in nominal dollars.

Deflation is the norm in free markets – that is driven by the laws of supply and demand.
Producers benefit TEMPORARILY from gains in efficiency, from capital improvements, from building a better mouse trap.
But in the long term all gains in efficiency go to consumers not producers.
Scarcity itself ALWAYS results in long term decreases in prices.

If the price of copper spikes because demand outstrips supply – we find new sourced of copper or better means to mine it or cheaper or better alternatives to it.

When I was in college I was taught that we would run out of oil within a few years of my graduating.
I graduated in 1981 – World oil reserves are much greater than ever before.

it is possible that we will someday run out of oil – that is not really m point – should that ever Truly prove to be true, we will find something better and cheaper. That has always proved true.

The only truly limited resource – Julian Simon’s Ultimate resource is human brain power.

          2. There will be no permanent political majority. It is very suprising that Democrats have taken so long to adapt
But ultimately they will. Eventually Democrats will find a way to successfully challenge Republicans.

Trump’s own political success MAGA is the consequence of grasping that Republicans were slowly being whittled away and shifting positions on issues to attract a new majority.

The only question is how long will democrats remain stupid.

There is way too much power and money at stake for them to permanently remain enthralled to a failed ideology.

          3. EO’s can be swept away easily.

What is less easy to push aside is success.
Biden was a failure as president. the average working class family lost about 4500 in spendable income under Biden.
That is what cost Democrats power.

We use polls to measure alot of things politically – but polls are a very crude measure – they are close to binary, They do not truly show the strength of a view, and even when they do they at best measure our conscious impressions – they do not truly measure how we will choose – until we have to choose.

In a more perfect world – also known as the free market – all our choices would have costs and we would make choices – usually using below conscious cost benefit analysis.

Humans tend to make mostly rational decisions – but we do NOT usually consciously examine them rationally – we act more intuitively, but our intuition is guided by rationality.

When you are hungry do you do a cost benefit analysis of whether to buy a McDonalds meal or go to Applbees ?
Most of us do not. But at the same time as the economics of McDonalds vs Applebees change – we will absolutely observe a shift of peoples choices in the market. McDonald’s know the impact of changing the price of their products by one penny.

My point is that in the free market where our decisions have costs and benefits Humans often without consciously thinking about it make on the whole very good choices.

But when there are no clear costs we make POOR choices – and that is true whether you failed to graduate from HS or have a PHD.

Pollsters are getting better at predicting voting – but all to often in the past decade we have seen outcomes at the far end or further of the “margin of error” – Why ? Because though voting is NOT as closely tied to costs as free markets, when people vote they do Think more about the actual cost of their decisions.

Biden was an economic disaster for working class families. That fact effected voting more than it effected polling.
And it did so likely without people consciously thinking about it.

Whether the left likes it or not – many of Trump’s policies are likely to become permanent – because they have worked and people benefited from them.

Democrats may tinker at the edges. But it is hard enough to repeal wholesale failure.

a bit less than a decade ago the democratic socialists in Denmark and Sweden lost elections to conservative – even “far right” paries.
They did so primarily over a single issue – immigration. Denmark and later Sweden implimented the most draconian immigration policies in the EU. In both countries social democrats are back in power. But the Conservtive immigration polices not only remain – but have been strengthen. Social Democrats regained power in Sweden and Denmark by promising more restrictive policies than even the conservatives – and they delivered.

I do not know if the Afd in Germany or Le Pennes national Rally in france will take power.

If they do I doubt they will hold it long – and the same is true in the rest of Europe with respect to left/right politics.

What WILL happen is whatever you want to call the traditionally dominant party will adopt the politically successful policies of the oposition.

In the US and other countries with closer to a two party system – there usually is not a permanently dominant party – that tends to only happen in many party countries and there the dominant party must form a government by coalition.

In countries like the US and UK which until recently was Two party – the parties dance around each other.
Much of Trump’s platform would have been common for democrats decades ago.

On those issues that Trump is winning over the majority of working class voters – threatening what was the democratic base – Democrats WILL eventually shift of they will be a permanent minority.

The party in the US that is the minority party is so because of its OWN choices not those of the dominant party.

I would further note that thought the people inside political parties have ideologies contra the claims they make in every election the political parties themselves do not have ideologies. They shift based on the success of their members.
The super concentration of increasingly left democrats has resulted in growing power for far left candidates from mostly safe urban districts. But winning control of the house, the senate the presidency requires winning outside of deep blue far left districts.
That requires that the party itself shift to the center or remain in permanent minority.

        2. Trump should not have made this remark – but it is still NOT nearly as bad as most of the Kirk Remarks.

Trump did NOT “celebrate” Reiners death, nor did Trump say that he deserved it or was happy about it.

The remark was mildly inappropriate – maybe more so because Trump is president.

But Biden said far worse things about Trump.

The decorum that used to be associated with presidents is gone.

With respect to self discipline – Trump’s life is pretty much entirely public, he says thousands of things.
No one speaks publicly as much as he does without occasionally saying something stupid.
          It just does not happen.

I do not expect Trump to speak as frequently as he does and never utter anything inappropriate.
He should apologize on the rare occasions he does. But he is not likely to do so.

Trump is not the perfect person or president.

Just the best one in the 21st century. But that is a low bar.

  9. Clinton Judge Orders Destruction Of Key Evidence In Case Against James Comey
A Clinton-appointed federal judge in Washington has stepped into the James Comey saga with an order that effectively tells the FBI to wipe a key evidentiary trail tied to the former director’s obstruction case, and to do it quickly. The move drops the Justice Department into a separation-of-powers storm at the same time it is trying to salvage its prosecution of the man who helped ignite the Trump-Russia hoax. …

  10. Rob Reiner savagely criticized President Donald J. Trump.
    ______________________________________________________________

Here are documented examples of strong/harsh criticisms that filmmaker Rob Reiner has made about Donald Trump over the years. These are quotes and paraphrased statements that have been reported in news and other sources — some are blunt and politically charged:

🔹 Direct and Harsh Descriptions of Trump

    • In a viral social media post, Reiner listed a series of very negative traits about Trump, calling him “Hypocritical. Incompetent. Corrupt. Ignorant. Criminal. Mentally unstable. Racist. Misogynistic. …” in a long Twitter critique of Trump’s presidency.
    Hannity

    • He has described Trump as “a racist” and argued that Trump’s re-election efforts were based on white nationalism, saying those who support him are effectively endorsing racism.
    Daily Caller

    • Reiner has also called Trump a “con man” and a “criminal,” critiquing his leadership style and assertions about immigration and other policies.
    OK! Magazine

🔹 Personal Insults and Strong Character Judgments

    • On social media, Reiner has used blunt language like calling Trump “out of his f*ing mind,” “moronic,” “toxic,”** and “beyond unfit” to describe Trump’s conduct and statements.
    newsbusters.org

    • He has also called Trump “mentally unfit” to be president in interviews about the 2016 campaign and afterward.
    YouTube

    🔹 Comparisons and Broader Critiques

    • Reiner has drawn broad historical comparisons — describing elements of Trump’s rhetoric or tactics as reminiscent of fascist or authoritarian leaders and warning about threats to democracy.
    Salon.com

    • He has criticized Trump’s rhetoric on immigration and Muslim bans as illustrating “classic fascist, autocratic” tendencies.
    Salon.com

🔹 Commentary on Trump Supporters (Related Criticism)

    • In addition to criticizing Trump, Reiner stated that there “can be no distinction” between Trump and his supporters in terms of racist attitudes.

    1. I try to be a good Christian, but sometimes I fail… in these chaotic times I just can’t help myself at all.

      Thank you!

    2. Reiner was indeed the poster-child of leftist lunacy. His uncontrollable hatred and rage towards Conservatives took him to the land of make-believe. He rendered accusations like “racist, fascist, and authoritarian” meaningless by his overwhelming misuse of the words themselves. He was simply a worn-out, angry, and bitter leftist, and his focus was misplaced on things he fabricated in his own mind, instead of getting his kid some honest psychiatric assistance.

      1. All true – but we do not speak ill of the dead. At the very least wait until after the funeral.

There was nothing to be gained from criticizing Reiner today. No matter how much Reiner deserved it.

Reiners response to Kirks death was perfect. Trump should have showed Reiner the same respect Reiner gave Kirk.

        1. So what do you suppose Reiners response would have been to Trump’s death?
It is completely understandable that Trump issue an unpleasant response, Reiner made Trump an enemy. Trump doesn’t cut his enemies any slack. It’s bad taste to some, to others it’s just the art of war.

          1. No, it’s childish, negative-emotion-driven behavior on both Reiner’s and Trump’s part. True leaders know how to drive positive change without making enemies. An undisciplined tongue is the sign of mental weakness.

    3. anonymous – There is nothing wrong with Trump’s attacks on Reiner.

But it was inappropriate to do so right after he died.

        1. Massive TDS

Yesterday (and Today) were mostly good days for Trump.

RI have failed to catch the shooter and Brown is taking a hit – even students are angry.
There is also a possibility that this was a targeted attack at the President of the Brown Republicans who was one of the 2 killed.
That is not known yet – but atleast a few places have reported that and the Police are being tight lipped despite the fact there is near certainly video and audio of the shooting and the shooter said something.

FBI arrested 5 left wing nut domestic terrorists planning a New Years Day bombing. They caught them in the CA desert preparing to make bombs. This was a small group – media counter terrorism experts form the Biden and Obama administration had never heard of them. But the Trump FBI caught them Before they were able to act.

TWO NG were shot in Syria – while a few conservatives are right – we need to get completely out of Syria.

Judge Boasberg was slapped by the DC court of appeals and has been ordered to shutdown or delay his “contempt” kangaroo court until he explains himself.

The massacre of Jews in AU is not a Trump problem – but it makes the Palestinians look like terrorists again reminding everyone of Oct 7 again.

DOJ responded to Judge Xinis’s order of last week nullifying the earlier immigration court order of Removal and DOJ has just responded saying – Fine, that ends your jurisdiction of this case and Garcia is detainable under multiple other legal authorities and will be detained shortly.

Garcia is required to go to TN for his criminal trial and he either can be detained by ICE when he arrives or detained now, and taken to TN and Xinis no longer has jurisdiction.

  11. Sorry commie , it’s well known All in the Family was at best social engineering and at worst commie propaganda.
The price we pay for having an open society. Unlike communist countries where it’s more blatant.

    1. Norman Lear a 60’s Commie, these were the fledgling steps taken by Hollywood Bolsheviks as Vietnam simmered.

      1. So, you guys just found out that America went full communist a very long time ago?

Clearly you’ve never read about Wilson’s Revenue Act of 1913 and the Federal Reserve Board, the four terms of Comrade General Secretary Franklin D. Roosevelt, including Alger Hiss et al., or the severe limitations and restrictions on government in Article 1, Section 8, and the absolute 5th Amendment right to private property.

  12. Rob Reiner is dead. This from the far left Commie who spread evil regularly in calling conservatives every foul word in the book. Look who’s laughing now. Burn in hell motherf********

    1. Reiner was killed by his own son. Looks like he spent more effort on politics than on raising his children properly.

  13. Because of the tragic passing of Rob Reiner and Michele Singer-Reiner,
I was looking through All in the Family YouTubes and ran across this one on Gun Control.

The similarities of how Archie (played by Carrol O’Conner) and Jennifer Welch have convoluted ideas about Life, it suffices to say that Welch is a Archie Bunker in her own way.

    Archie Bunker Gun Control

    1. Isn’t it ironic that both O’Conners son, Hugh and Reiners son were/are both demented drug addicts? Hey just like Hunter…

    2. It is disingenuous to feign concern over an average of 25 deaths per year by guns in mass shootings while not caring a whit about 45,000 deaths per year by motor vehicles.

      1. And 75,000 deaths per year from opioid overdoses. Yet idiots on the left defend the drug-runners in speed boats transporting death to our shores, and suggest taking them out is the moral equivalent of murdering an innocent man (Kirk) whose only “crime” was to engage people in dialogue on college campuses.

  14. A key but often overlooked factor in Hitler’s rise to power was the German people’s abject fear of the Communist tyranny that threatened them and many other Europeans (including the French). It is likely that had Hitler not defeated his communist rivals in the street Germany may have, in the 1930’s, suffered the same fate as did the Ukraine under Stalin’s rule.

I have no doubt that idiots like Ms. Welch always assumed that had it not been for Hitler Europe would’ve peacefully coexisted with those misunderstood socialist progressives in the USSR.

    1. Welcome to this episode of Failure to Understand Alternative History.

The reason that the USSR forced it’s way West was because, yet again, Europe had invaded it and killed a huge pile of Russians. Russia took steps to put a bunch of sacrificial countries on the front line as a buffer to get them killed first and leave Russia alone. The reason that Russia was able to do this was that Germany steamrolled over those same countries on the way to Moscow, because Hitler was a moron and, like Trump, could not keep his end of any deal.

It’s clear that without the provocation and massive damage done by the Hitler lead German army that Russia would have tried to keep to itself instead of building that costly barrier. Once they had nuclear weapons the whole of the effort was essentially wasted. Remember, if the Allies, which would have no need to fear a non-expansionist Russia, were to put short-range nukes on the border, that same border on the Russian side is also a place for short-range nukes.

Also, without the Nazis as the boogeyman, Russia would have less now to complain exists as a threat.

      1. Welcome to this episode of Failure to Comprehend the Written Word.

I made mention of the 1930’s because, one, that’s when the Nazis and the Communists battled on the streets in Germany, and two, to prevent the ignorant from confusing these street fights with the military battles that occurred during the war between the two — which all took place in the 1940’s.

      2. If Hitler was a moron, what does it say for Neville Chamberlin or Josef Stalin or FDR? You once again try to spin history with lies and false narratives. Russia was in the makings and Patton saw it coming, he knew what was coming and they killed him for it.

    2. Yes, Stalin killed 20 million in Ukraine and Russia but you never hear anything about their holocaust, the Red Terror. Why?

    3. America is completely communist in violation of Article 1, Section 8, and the absolute 5th Amendment right to private property et al.

The entire communist American welfare state is unconstitutional including, but not limited to, admissions affirmative action, grade-inflation affirmative action, employment affirmative action, quotas, welfare, food stamps, minimum wage, rent control, social services, forced busing, public housing, utility subsidies, CRT, DEI, WIC, SNAP, TANF, HAMP, HARP, TARP, PBS, NPR, Health and Human Services, Housing and Urban Development, Environmental Protection Agency, Agriculture, Education, Labor, Energy, Obamacare, Social Security, Social Security Disability, Social Security Supplemental Income, Medicare, Medicaid, “Fair Housing” laws, “Non-Discrimination” laws, etc.

      1. No. He rose to power because of Germany’s irrational, statist philosophy. (See for example Kant and Hegel.) The “land of poets and philosophers” was destroyed by its poets and philosophers.
