Red Apple: Mamdani Appoints Official Who Called For The Seizure of Private Property

Last weekend, I wrote about New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani’s full-throated pledge to introduce New Yorkers to “the warmth of collectivism.” He proceeded to fulfill his pledge to govern as a die-hard socialist with the appointment of a new advocate for renters who has espoused communist policies favoring the seizure of private property. Cea Weaver, the new director of the Office to Protect Tenants, is the ultimate example of the young armchair communists coming out of our universities with little memory or understanding of past failures in socialist countries.

While the Administration just brought Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro to New York, Mamdani appears intent on bringing some of his policies to the Big Apple. The fact that he reduced a prosperous nation to an economic basket case seems to be little deterrent.

Weaver, 37, is an example of the shallow sloganeering that masquerades as policies in these circles. Notably, her commitment to communist doctrine does not appear to extend to defending them. She deleted many of her most extreme calls for the seizure of property and racist statements directed against white people.

Weaver has called for Americans to ‘impoverish the white middle-class’ and called homeownership “racist” while demanding the seizure of private property. The videos sound like a college coffee klatch of junior communists, part of what I have called the “radical chic” of higher education.

“I think the reality is, that for centuries we’ve really treated property as an individualized good and not a collective good…And transitioning to treating it as a collective good and towards a model of shared equity will require that we think about it differently and it will mean that families – especially white families, but some POC families who are homeowners as well – are going to have a different relationship to property than the one that we currently have.”

She has denounced homeownership as “a weapon of white supremacy.”

These views mirror past comments by Mamdani himself who has called for “seizing the means of production.”

Mamdani had to be aware of Weaver’s past comments, which include:

• calling “homeownership … a weapon of white supremacy masquerading as ‘wealth building’ public policy.”

• “improvish the white middle class. Homeownership is racist/failed public policy.”

• There is no such thing as a ‘good’ gentrified, only people who are actively working on projects to dismantle white supremacy and capitalism and people who aren’t.”

• “seize private property!”

• “elect more communists.”

• “this country built wealth for white people through genocide, slavery, stolen land & labor. white supremacy built the north and the south.”

• “endorse no white men in office platform.”

Imagine how the press would respond to a Republican nominee who called to vote against any black people or to elect fascists.

In my forthcoming book, I discuss this shift toward socialism as a new generation replicates the same failed policies that marked a long line of collectivist catastrophes. Other countries are throwing off the yoke of socialism and communism. Yet, Mamdani and his aides herald some of the same failed policies.

Months ago, as Mamdani also tried to scrub his social media, I wrote that he was a hardcore Marxist. Liberal pundits then objected and said that he really was just a ramped-up welfare liberal.

Mamdani and Weaver prove the truth of Maya Angelou’s warning that “When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time”.

  1. Poorly ran social programs in MN and CA are what allowed for the massive fraud by incompetent Democrat leadership.

  2. Seattle in freefall under hyperwoke mayor as new order allows drug users to avoid prosecution… with homeless encampments growing in city

‘All instances of drug use or possession will be referred to Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion (LEAD) – a program designed to redirect low-level offenders in King County from the criminal justice system into supportive social services.’

Seattle Police Officers Guild president, Mike Solan, said on Sunday: ‘The recent naive, ignorant political decision to not arrest offenders for open drug use in the City of Seattle is horrifically dangerous and will create more death and societal decay.’

  3. Are you planning for your retirement, or are you depending on the collectivism of Social Security?

    1. We are planning for our retirement as if SS will not be there or will be a pittance of what we paid into. SS is going to go insolvent in 6 years, yet another failed socialist program.

  4. In liberal Boston, mayor Wu had to give the residents and businesses that are located there that unfortunately taxes are going up. But never fear, she and her fellow progressives are going to tackle the high cost of living and the unaffordablity problems head on. These people are priceless.

  5. Capitalists are seizing your property (accounts receivable) when they don’t pay you for
    your work.

  6. This new appointee of Mayor Mamdani is nothing more than a hypocrite. Rules for thee, but not for me! When asked if she would confiscate the $1.6 Million home of her mother, she indicated that she would not! Yet, what would she do to others who have worked hard to purchase their own homes?

  7. Bernie Sanders has three homes: one in Burlington, VT (the family home), one in D.C., and a vacation lake home on the Vermont side of Lake Champlain. To show that he is fully behind the idea of the socialist collective, he should admit that his desire to own three homes is an expression of his hidden white supremacy and he should voluntarily transfer ownership of these homes to the socialist collective. That would be leadership by example, an oxymoron in the democratic-socialist universe.

  8. When Hitler did the kinds of things that Hitler would do, it was bad. But when Trump does the kinds of things that Hitler would do, then it’s totally kosher.

  9. The dirty office politics that happens in a capitalist business can
cause homelessness, when you are deprived of an income for a stupid, arbitrary reason
and can no longer afford to pay the monthly rent.

    1. But it would never happen in a Socialist run country…. Yeah .. LOL
Castro was sure living the good life.

  10. According to news organizations, Pam Bondi not only missed the legal deadline to release the Epstein files but only released about 1% of the documents.

Maybe Pam Bondi should place her legal deadlines (required by law) ahead of legalizing the invasion of NATO ally Greenland?

Greenland has always allowed the United States and NATO to build (or expand) military bases in Greenland. There is no need to invade or buy Greenland.

    Where are the Epstein files?

    1. The media has intentionally confused “files” with “documents,” to make it look bad, hence, the “1 percent”.

  11. Weaver is probably not too far from wrong in claiming that home-ownership is a weapon of white supremacy. An oligarchic business establishment has already declared its fondness for a future in which no one will own their homes. And the reality of first-time home-buyers today is vastly different from the one that allowed boomers to acquire property to pass to their heirs without fear of entrapment in permanent serfdom to a corporate overlord.

If anything, Weaver’s boundary-issues with rhetoric suggest that she is closer to unifying elements of both the right and the left. And that may explain the surprising appeal of Mamdani-ism.

  12. . The homeless need houses. Zero and Cea might try doing that the lawful way. It’s easier to rationalize theft OTOH with lies. Billions if not trillions have been allocated to house the homeless and graft, grift gets it every time. $480,000 per tough shed? Really?

In the hope Zero Mamdami houses all the homeless lawfully and frugally. It can be done but with this appointment he isn’t serious at all. He’s just another bad man, bandit.

    Sincerely,
    🌲

    1. There are nearly 1 Million homeless people in American. $1 Billion works out to $1,000 each, or $3 a day. With large populations comes large amounts of money. I doubt that it has reached the $1 Trillion mark, but $100 Billion? Over what period? 10 years? 20 years. And, unlike most dollars spent, this money is right back into the economy; no buying offshore factories to put even more Americans out of work.

      Here’s a typical up-in-arms complaint:

      ————
The Sacramento City Council has approved and is installing Tuff Sheds to house young homeless adults for $58,000 per year per person, which also includes job training, financial literacy, rehousing services, 24/7 monitoring, individualized case management services and operations, and mental health services as needed. The total cost for 2 years is $5.6 million. Sacramento will install 24 sheds, to house 2 adults each, for a total of 48 people in the program.

Compare these 120 sq. ft. shelter that costs $58,000 per year, to the Citizens Again proposed solution costing approximately $4,000 per year, per person with many more facilities, amenities, activities, and services than this Tuff Sheds proposal.
      ————

It appears that Citizens Again is a startup. I think it is vapor. The goal is to build a central location with mass housing, resembling prison cells, just without the steel bars. It’s designed around warehousing people.

Here’s the estimate for just the buildings – essentially an entire contained city.

I don’t see how they intend to feed people 2 meals a day and educate them and deliver counseling and so forth for, essentially $11 a day. Including clothing, bedding, laundry, towels, toilet paper, soap, water for showers, and so on.

I don’t know where the ” $480,000 per tough shed” comes from.

    2. Cea appears unstable. I’m sick to death of mentally ill people in government. It’s dangerous. NYC can always recall this loser.

  13. CPB is shutting down because it can’t steal our hard-earned money any more to propagate communism in America. Bolshevik funeral march is called for:

    1. CPB is the tip of the iceberg—unconstitutional agencies, departments, and programs must be shut down or privatized.

The entire communist American welfare state is unconstitutional, including, but not limited to, admissions affirmative action, grade-inflation affirmative action, employment affirmative action, quotas, welfare, food stamps, minimum wage, rent control, social services, forced busing, public housing, utility subsidies, CRT, DEI, WIC, SNAP, TANF, HAMP, HARP, TARP, CPB, PBS, NPR, Health and Human Services, Housing and Urban Development, Environmental Protection Agency, Agriculture, Education, Labor, Energy, Obamacare, Social Security, Social Security Disability, Social Security Supplemental Income, Medicare, Medicaid, “Fair Housing” laws, “Non-Discrimination” laws, etc.

Article 1, Section 8, provides Congress the power to tax for ONLY debt, defense, and “general Welfare”—ALL” or THE WHOLE WELL PROCEED through governmental provision of security and basic infrastructure—omitting and, thereby, excluding any power to tax for individual Welfare, specific Welfare, particular Welfare, favor, or charity. The same Article enumerates and provides Congress the power to regulate ONLY “the Value of money,” “Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes,” and “land and naval Forces.”

Further, the 5th Amendment right to private property was initially qualified by the Framers and is, therefore, absolute, allowing no further qualification and allowing ONLY the owner the power to “claim and exercise” dominion over private property.

      1. These agencies exist to help get fairness for people.
If there were no labor department to investigate unpaid wages,
employers could get away with not paying you.

    2. You pay for a military to protect oil tankers so that oil companies can get wealthy and not pay taxes.

  14. You’re a bunch of losers, like the gossiping geezers drinking their coffee in McDonalds, griping about the homeless, welfare recipients, and illegal aliens. That is the essence of their miserable lives.

  15. . Anyone catch the photo of Zero Mamdami filling a pothole with both hands turned the wrong way on the shovel? What ya say ye Ole farmers? He’s unfamiliar with shovels. Well, he’s a communist intellectual.

    1. Anyone catch Trump behind the wheel of a garbage truck hunched over like a toddler on a tricycle that is too small?

  16. By threatening to confiscate the private property of Greenland, Trump is acting like historical communists such as Stalin, Castro, or Mao, people you apparently don’t care for, yet you still support Trump. How strange.

    1. Give it up. We know you’re a communist-paid troll. GFY, it would be time better spend than saying moronic stuff on this blog.

    2. So you think this is a comparison? Purchase is not seizure. May I take your home or are you going to sell it to me? Hmmmm!
