Video: Florida Deputy Shown Dumping Quadriplegic Man On to Floor

An investigation has begun into this disturbing video of a Florida deputy dumping a quadriplegic man out of his wheelchair while he is being booked on Jan. 29. Deputy Charlotte Marshall Jones is shown on the video as she cruelly tosses the man, Brian Sterner, 32, out of his wheelchair and on the floor.

Sterner was arrested on traffic related charges. For the video, click here.

The treatment could result in a tort action. There is no difference between beating a prisoner and using his disability to injure him. At a minimum, Jones appears wholly unsuited for service as an officer. Both she and the Sheriff’s office can also prepare for the inevitable civil lawsuit.

Not one person who saw this horrific act flinched when the man was dumped out onto the floor. Each person who turned a blind eye should be fired (not suspended with pay) and charged criminally. Despicable act, everybody there should be ashamed of themselves they acted like animals… I would love to tie her legs and arms up and dump her onto her face… That fat B needs to get her fat azz kicked… It would not be right w/o a good azz whopping…

I am sickened by what that stupid bitch did. I’m not saying that it’s right to hit a woman, but that one deserves a suckerpunch in the face for sure. No holding back. And the guy with the smirk on his face walking past the camera as well. In fact, everyone who was present who did not stand up for the individual who could not defend himself needs to be held responsible. Were I in charge, every one of them would be terminated. Of course, not all of them are going to be terminated or even disciplined. Good to see tax dollars at work!

It takes a real set of nuts to hurt a person who can’t hurt you back. I hope he gets a good chunk of $$ from the state of F L A.

I am somewhat heartened by the response from the Sheriff. Instead of the old ” I back my officers” line, this guy seems genuinely concerned about the incident. If there is a silver lining, this is it.
