Irish Politician Calls Obama A War Criminal And Hypocrite In Parliament

220px-Clare_DalyPresident_Barack_ObamaMany civil libertarians around the world have rallied to support Clare Daly, Irish Parliament member of the United Left Alliance representing Dublin, after she challenged the prime minister and the reception given to President Barack Obama who she called a war criminal. The video of the speech is below. Daly called Obama the “hypocrite of the century” for lecturing children on peace while expanding drone attacks and funding civil wars around the world. Many in the United States particularly took note of her attack on the type of cult of personality surrounding Obama that seems detached from his horrendous record on civil liberties, privacy, and international law.

Daly noted that it is not just the government but the media fueling this cult of personality — spending endless time on what the Obamas were ordering for lunch rather than discussing his authoritarian policies. She is the former Socialist Party Teachta Dála (TD) for the Dublin North constituency but resigned from the Socialist Party and joined the United Left Alliance TD.

Daly is being attacked as immature and radical in her comments.

What do you think?

  1. I agree with her. He is a war criminal and he is a hypocrite. Actually I am not sure I would even call him hypocrite as much as deceitful, lying, manipulative. He truly is an evil individual. So much deception and betrayal.

  2. Daly is being attacked as immature and radical in her comments.

    What do you think?

I think she’s being attacked for being honest….by the same corporate, banking, Wall St, Oil interests, and corrupt security organizations that spin BS for the last couple Presidents….

  3. Daly is being attacked as immature and radical in her comments.

    What do you think?

I think she’s being attacked by the same Corporate, Big Banking, Wall St, Oil Interests, and corrupt Security agencies that have protected, directed, and covered for the last couple Presidents!!

  4. It is a shame that this is what leaders of foreign governments think of our president. It is also a shame that she is not crazy. If she had said these same things about Bush no one would have said a word. A sad day for America.

  5. Sheer brilliancy.
This video should be seen by every American. She was wonderful in it. She has far more courage and integrity than most every one of our politicians.

  6. It is time for a Revolution.
It is time to remove the fascist and corrupt from our government.
Obama should be in prison, not the White House.

  7. Many in the United States particularly took note of her attack on the type of cult of personality surrounding Obama that seems detached from his horrendous record on civil liberties, privacy, and international law.

The problem is the institution — the office of the president itself –no individual president has been able to resist it in years.

Senseless, useless, and seemingly endless wars do that to a nation (James Madison).

  8. Well, what she said, needed to be said. Everyone else is, as she said, to busy pimping themselves for a pat on the head.
It was particularly important, as a national public pulpit, and it is coming from a western nation who is otherwise our ally.

I agree with the tenor and scope of what she said, if not all the details, and that tenor illustrates in plain relief that Obama is a pretty face, on an ugly agenda.

  9. Integrity and courage. The truth that America needs to recognize as reality against the false cult of personality that has gone malignant in this country in tolerating violent policies progressively made both on foreign shores and in the police state that Obama is building here on the domestic front.

    Valid criticisms well stated indeed!

  10. The Obama supporters are a different breed from any prior presidents really.

People defend Obama because they are members of a cult. Ive never seen anything like it. He could kill a million people tuesday and theyd still support him. He is everything his supporters hated Bush for and he does it all ten times worse than Bush did and they still love him for it.

The only people who should like Obama should be right wing fascists.

  11. Definition of hypocrite

However, nine years ago then-State Sen. Barack Obama actually co-sponsored a bill that strengthened Illinois’ 1961 “stand your ground” law.

The Obama-sponsored bill (SB 2386) enlarged the state’s 1961 law by shielding the person who was attacked from being sued in civil court by perpetrators or their estates when a “stand your ground” defense is used in protecting his or her person, dwelling or other property.

  12. and his minions too…… maybe this should be on the freedom of the press post but then again I’m free to post it where ever I want.

  13. Under BARACK murder was legalized by simply adding
“lawful” before murder / thus you have “Lawful Murder”
such now USA law. One now having…. Lawful Torture
Lawful Rape..Lawful Destruction.. lawful mass murder
lawful invasion of nations… Such is the USA in having
completely lost the plot / they having abandoned all
international as domestic law .. The people’s stripped
of all rights. Wealth now power / with wealth politicians
are bought as sold / they now but serve their financial
backers / a vote as elections having become worthles.
the nation descends into madness / in facing insanity.

The USA’s in need of criticism thus understanding
how dire the situation is /that they need aid / help
from all nations getting back on track / thus return
to their senses ( engaging the brain ) in returning
to that of common sense / not overpowered by the
mind / which is allowing the very worst qualities of
humanity to flourish // where continue committing
the most appalling crimes. /// Millions slaughtered.

  14. “Among black progressives, there is also a wariness about fueling the fires of Republicans and conservatives who are seen as too often being personally disrespectful toward the president.

“Many progressives and Democrats will avoid like the plague giving ammunition to the professional Obama haters and the GOP,” said Earl Ofari Hutchinson, a political analyst and author.

Still, he added, “It would be totally irresponsible not to raise principled, political criticisms and offer constructive criticisms, whether it be on his drone policy or urging him to do more for the black poor.”

Black lawmakers are highly reluctant to voice those criticisms, however. Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) repeatedly criticized Obama in 2011 for being insufficiently concerned with blacks’ economic circumstances. But she was an exception rather than the rule — and has largely muted any expressions of negative recently.

“I was thinking you maybe wanted me to say bad things about the president,” Rangel noted at one point in an interview with The Hill, making plain he had no intention of doing so.

He acknowledged merely that any disappointment he felt was “only based on my expectations. I know that nobody else understands the problems we face as a people better than he does.”

  15. the USA is not bigger than the rest of the World…and Democracy stopped working because of corruption, not because it wasn’t working….the World seems fed up w/the hypocrisy of bullies, no?

  16. SwM,

Obviously you didn’t get the memo and thus aren’t with the program. Don’t feel bad, I didn’t either.

As to the shock jock known as the “Southern Avenger” (Hunter), I feel pretty safe in predicting that 2 months from now, and unto eternity, all the libertarians will claim that Hunter never worked for Paul so you better bookmark the articles for rebuttal purposes.

  17. So this fool supports the Assad regime which is supporting the Hezbollah jihadists. She is also so ignorant that she has NO idea of what a real cult of personality is. The media is a poor shadow of itself from the days of my youth, but to say that they are involved in a cult of personality is wrong, hyper, ignorant, and simply childish name calling. It is time for her to grow up and learn to think. By the standards she sets, then virtually every political figure is a war criminal, including HER. She is supporting a genocidal regime in Syria. She is as bad as the appeasers of pre-WWII and deserves the same treatment.

  18. I did watch the above video which trying to justify the killing
of Trayvon Martin / americans having been too secluded in
their own world / a world of direst media spin in reality they
have no true understanding of how unjust of how (corrupt)
the situation is / via media 24/7 spin / and the nonsense as
produced by hollywood / reality having merged into fiction
the brain is almost at a standstill in it’s development / mind
now rules the roost / violence becoming people’s daily diet.

One can in defence of George (zimmerman) in the killing of
Trayvon say he is a victim of such 24/7 media brainwashing
as a movie world which incites violence / in not only turning
americans agin other nations but also in turning americans
agin americans be that using color or wealth be the means
to divide causing conflict / such division of color being much
used in putting BARACK in office as keeping him in office..
where in office BARACK only served his financial backers
as politicians are he but betrayed all be they black or white.

Unless people’s unite then the situation for americans will
only worsen they will be used as abused by politicians and
their wealthy backers / whom own control the 24/7 media
thus they can use their power to spin any story they wish.

The killing of Trayvon a tragedy / as for George he has not
walked free he has to live daily in knowing he did an great
wrong / the taking of anothers life / is an very grave crime
in final judgement we all stand before the creator whom will
judge as pass judgement / thus none escaping judgement
there be no stone for one to hide under no cave in finding
shelter throughout the universe escaping one’s reckoning
thus while in the world be merciful thus the lord be merciful.

  19. I can’t fault Clare Daly for saying things I’ve said myself. In fact, not only to I support what she said, I’m so impressed that she had the dea-charachtair é (good character) to say so in front of Parliament and the world that I’d like to mail her a big ol’ Irish/English/Blackfoot smooch. Then again, that might be considered “material aid to a terrorist” by Eric “I Just A Fascist Puppet” Holder.

Those sharp, red headed Irish lasses keep getting me in trouble.

That being said, you go, Clare.

  20. What did she state that is not true? What did she state that was true? That is the criterion for judging her speech.

Her speech sounds strange to us because it is straight forward and she is angry about the actions she is describing.

Our news is heavily managed. We are seldom able to hear from people who did not shift their values about war crimes once Obama started committing them. Instead, we are treated over and over again to far right criticism which is quite easy for any thoughtful person to dismiss. That is what passes for “news” and “analysis” in the US–propaganda.

  21. War Crimes Tribunal Looking to ARREST Obama & Bush

During the Nuremberg trials of some of the main Nazis, the chief American prosecutor, Robert H. Jackson, stated: “To initiate a War of Aggression, therefore, is not only an international crime; it is the supreme international crime differing only from other War Crimes in that it contains within itself the accumulated evil of the whole.” Also established at the Nuremberg trials, “just following orders” is no defense against war crimes. “The fact that a person acted pursuant to order of his Government or of a superior does not relieve him from responsibility under international law, provided a moral choice was in fact possible to him.”

All the U.S. Government Invasions are illegal as were the Nazi Invasions. They are crimes of aggression. A crime of aggression at Nuremberg was to be the supreme international crime. Washington DC = Nazi Berlin. It is time for Nuremberg on the Potomac War Crimes Trials. “War Crimes Prosecutors appear to be out for the arrest of George Bush and Barack Obama. Lawyers file arrest warrants for those they claim are “murderers on a large scale.” As Hitler, Obama, Biden, Bush, Cheney and their co-conspirators are Supreme War Criminals.

  22. Wow, she really torn the minister a new hole, didn’t she? I agree with most of what she said, but I disagree about Syria. Nevertheless it is wonderful how she put her views powerfully and clearly up front. We get nothing like this in the US.

Of course, for all we know there might be Congresspersons who make such speeches. The media would never broadcast the speech. At most there would be a scandal over her use of words like ‘pimp’ and ‘prostitute’ when ‘children might be watching!!!’

  23. I totally and wholeheartedly agree with all she says. I especially agree with her slapping the title of hypocrite of the century

  24. For what it’s worth…

I’m fully behind BuChO trials. And healing for our country and the world at large.

Violence for peace through lies and war? No thanks. I’ll take the truth and trials, and go wherever that takes me.

  25. Go Clare, Go!!! How refreshing to hear any politician tell the truth about corruption and abuse of power. Too bad we must go overseas to hear it. Sadly, she is one in a million.

  26. Standing by all these years and watching my country go to hell while dragging along the other “civilized” countries of the world along with them had me feeling like these guys here.

  27. Ms. Daly is a socialist that represents working class North Dublin. She would never be elected in the anti union tea party libertarian USA. Politicians that represent labour are generally respected in Europe.

  28. ironically as they say: “the truth will set you free” (of course they never meant “truth” per se.

  29. Woe unto you that does not clean the inside of your cup being defined inside never giving any blessings nether any good words in an attempt to teach anyone anything that is good. People against Jesus rallied and railed against Jesus saying nothing that is good evens as you are speaking. Why do people refuse to be like Jesus is? You are for a person that is pharisaical in their behavior.

  30. Woe unto you that does not clean the inside of your cup being defined inside never giving any blessings nether any good words in an attempt to teach anyone anything that is good. People against Jesus railed and railed against Jesus saying nothing that is good evens as you are speaking. Why do people refuse to be like Jesus is? You are for a person that is pharisaical in their behavior.

  31. Unlike Europe, the the US has very few active leftists, so most of Obama’s criticism ends up coming from far right wingers and birthers that often resort to racist and personal attacks which results in minorities and democrats rallying around him in support. I would not call this a cult of personality but rather a visceral reaction on the part of his voters to the ugliness of the “keep the whitehouse white” crowd. The latest attacks on him with regards to his speech about Trayvon Martin further highlights this.

  32. “I would not call this a cult of personality but rather a visceral reaction on the part of his voters to the ugliness of the “keep the whitehouse white” crowd.”

    Really.

Is that how some justify supporting a man who claimed ultra vires the President could kill American citizens without due process?

  33. yep, That’s my opinion. Also, African Americans turned out in states like Virginia and Florida in record numbers and waited for 6 to 8 hours because those exhibiting “white privilege” were trying to take their rights away..

  34. And if the republicans nominate Rand Paul which I rather doubt will happen, race will move front and center again.

  35. So instead, it’s better to let a black man take away their rights than to hold him accountable for violating the Constitution. And standing up for him is okay no matter what he does because you’re “fighting teh racists”.

    Yep.

No cult of personality here. Nothing to see. Move along.

  36. So the theory is, people are so offended by right wing criticism of Obama that they are unable to accept the reality of what Obama is doing and thus vote for him and still rally around him no matter what?

Am I getting this correctly? If so, there is an alternative. Condemn racism. Point out it is ridiculous to call Obama a socialist when he’s a capitalist on steroids, etc. At the same time honestly acknowledge what Obama is doing to the rule of law, to detainees in Gitmo, to whistleblowers, to civilians including children via drones, to protection of banking fraud, etc. and condemn that.

Neither racism nor ending the rule of law is acceptable. It is difficult to understand why people are not able to condemn both.

  37. @Blouise – I know you are one of the few here that will appreciate this… However, calling OHB a hypocrite is kinda’ retarded… why? Claire is a confirmed SOCIALIST what OHB is being falsely accused of. She is a confirmed ATHEIST… OHB is not. OHB knows the “real” reason why MQ1’s are needed in the WOT (despite the collateral damage)… Helping Anti-Assad Syrians is much like helping Netanyahu isn’t it? A friend is a friend*. Claire does not as she is clueless (as well as very worldly-immature).

*The enemy of my enemy is my friend – The Arthashastra

Also I don’t think her hands are clean as it concerns Gerry Adams (aka
Gearoid Mac Adhaimh) undocumented & questionable paramilitary operations who is also a member of Teachta Dala. I’m sure you know who Gary is? President of something interesting?

  38. Jill “Neither racism nor ending the rule of law is acceptable. It is difficult to understand why people are not able to condemn both.” That would be preferable but it does not seem to be working out that way does it? A Pew Poll came out today that shows the American public is very divided over the Trayvon Martin killing and Zimmerman’s aquittal. Most of the division is along racial and political lines.

  39. sonofthunderboanerges. Doesn’t everybody know who Gerry Adams is? ;) I will bet these right wingers that post here don’t or they would not praise Ms. Daly so highly. My great grandmother was an Adams from Dingle.

  40. Jill,

Obama being a war criminal and a traitor to his oath of office and the Constitution have absolutely nothing to do with his race or racism.

Just as Bush/Cheney being war criminals and a traitors to their oaths of office and the Constitution have absolutely nothing to do with their race or racism.

Fascism is fascism and criminals are criminals.

Racism is a social evil. The valid criticisms of Obama have nothing to do with race. Curiously though, some of his supporters try to use that as a crutch to defend their defense of a man who has taken ultra vires, indefensible and unconscionable actions under the color of authority to claim unitary executive powers that simply don’t exist under the Constitution.

Like you, I condemn racism, but my open dislike of Obama is rooted in the same soil as my open dislike of Bush and Cheney. They’re criminals usurping the Constitution. They could be plaid and it wouldn’t change that.

The blindness of the some to Obama’s crimes because of his color or his party affiliation is the very definition of cult of personality in action.

  41. @Dante – How do you explain that over 104 NAZI war criminals escaped prosecution at NUREMBERG? To help our massive technological advances today so that USSR couldn’t get them? Try looking up OPERATION PAPERCLIP (one of many undocumented operations sneaking NAZI war criminals into USA via the US JIOA). Many US federal & MILINDCOMP high-tech operations today can thank them for learning extremely “new ideas”.

How can anyone compare POTUS OHB to them?

  42. @Gene H. – “The blindness of the some to Obama’s crimes because of his color or his party affiliation is the very definition of cult of personality in action.”

My blindness is due to empirical data… I’m just saying… :-)

    @SWM – Ta tu i gceart Lassie!

  43. Gene, “The valid criticisms of Obama have nothing to do with race.” True… but the right wing noise machine is cranked up so loud that you can barely hear them.

  44. sotb,

Then I suggest you re-read the Constitution until you understand that empirically Obama has pissed all over it just like his predecessor.

  45. Smom,

Both noise machines are in high gear to provide any distraction from the fact that both R’s and D’s, including the current and previous President, should be on trial for war crimes and civil rights violations. That they are using race issues as one of their distraction tactics is simply not surprising. As noted before, it’s an inherently emotionally charged topic that generates a lot of heat (for little effort) from a propaganda standpoint.

And I’ll say “far right” but not “far left”. There is no far left in this country’s political scene and very few actual liberals. Obama in neither liberal nor politically left. The battle is between the centrist corporatists (DNC) and the far right corporatists (RNC). Between fascism lite and fascism original.

Race is a distraction from both major parties wrong doing.

“Divide” is a key component of the “divide and conquer” strategy.

  46. SWM and Gene,

Apropos of the discussion of tribal loyalties (a term I prefer to “personality cult”), a very good treatment (as one would expect) from George Orwell in Through a Glass, Rosily. One of my favorite paragraphs:

    >Whenever A and B are in opposition to one another, anyone who attacks or criticises A is accused of aiding and abetting B. And it is often true, objectively and on a short-term analysis, that he is making things easier for B. Therefore, say the supporters of A, shut up and don’t criticise: or at least criticise “constructively”, which in practice always means favourably. And from this it is only a short step to arguing that the suppression and distortion of known facts is the highest duty of a journalist.

As true today as in 1945 — or any other period of human history where truth-telling runs afoul of loyalty to “our” tribe vs “theirs.” One of my favorite songs on the subject: “Barry Town,” by Steely Dan

  47. MM,

I won’t argue it isn’t tribal, but I consider tribalism and the cult of personality to be two distinct sociological effects that are related only in that a person who becomes a tribal rallying point is often (usually) the object of the cult.

  48. Gene, You said race is a distraction….. well, it is a lot more than that if you are Trayvon Martin’s family. I have never heard anyone but a caucasian say that racism is merely a distraction.

  49. Obama in my opinion is a centrist. He held the center and was reelected. Whoever holds the center wins in the US. Hillary Clinton will hold the center unless Chris Christie runs, and then it will be close. If either Paul of Cruz is the nominee, she cleans up.

  50. Smom,

And I’ve never heard anyone but a personality cultist bring a totally unrelated case into the matter of whether or not the President is a criminal.

The Martin case has squat to do with the subject of this thread just as racism has squat to do with the subject of this thread. But thanks for proving that some cultists insist on using Obama’s race as a defense for their defense of his indefensible actions. However, if you want to try to intimate that I’m a racist because I think that racism is a distraction to this topic?

    Good luck.

    Get help.

    You’re going to need it.

  51. @SWM – In a modern world of concurrent “big issues” (endemic of our times I think), I believe it is the “low hanging fruit” for Obama-haters to use as part of their low-effort-thinking (NOTE: not meant as an insult!). They use that fruit instead of seeing the self-evident data which is not high-effort thinking on their part. Please read this study by Dr. Scott Eidelman to see what I’m talking about (it’s a PDF about 13 pages long – WORD WALL? But worth skimming at least to use as a future discussion tool (at least bookmark it): http://tinyurl.com/kdh76qn

  52. With some it seem two things are clear:

    1) President Obama can do no wrong.
    2) Anyone who criticizes President Obama is a right winger and/or a racist.

  53. sonofthunderboanerges,

Re Daly … Ever see someone drum themselves out to the end of the plank?

“If you want to build a ship, don’t drum up people to collect wood and don’t assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea.”

Bookmarked your link for further study … thanks.

  54. Did not call anyone a racist. I said that I never heard anyone but a caucasian deny the existence of racism. Obama does a lot wrong but the birthers and racists were after him before he did anything, and they continue to be his loudest critics.

  55. Gene, Who introduced race into this thread? It was Jimmy Crack Corn with his video titled the “lynching” or maybe it was anon when he said Obama supporters are a “different breed”. Maybe you don’t see the racism in the postings here but others do.

  56. One aspect of these systems is the ability for members of parlaiment to speak directly to the head of government with often some very direct and pointed words whereupon the head of government is obligated to respond. Wit is an absolute pre-requisite of this. I don’t think many of our politicians here would have the fortitude for such debate.

Here is an example on the British side of the sea: Very lively

  57. SwM,

Don’t worry about it … anyone who can read knows you weren’t implying anything of the sort. The inference is in the eye of the beholder.

  58. “We came. We saw. He died.”

Thus cackled the war-slut You-Know-Her about the U.S.-assisted murder of Libyan leader Moammar Gaddafi.

Sounds “centrist” to me, as long as one travels exclusively on the political right-hand shoulder of the American political road.

  59. SWM

I am just curious. Could there ever come a point in which President Obama would do something so objectionable to you, that you would agree with someone who is what you refer to a right winger who says that President Obama was a failure of a president?

Or, is it the case where however wrong the president might be, others such as republicans, liberterians or other groups in the US are more wrong, thereby the actions of the president are excusable?

  60. Darren Smith, Maybe Obama will be viewed historically as a failure and maybe he won’t. More than likely he will be viewed as one who accomplished some good things and disappointed on other things. As to your hypothetical it really is just a hypothetical and I found it unwise to answer hypotheticals.

  61. Blouise,

I used the word “if” because her implication was unclear. If I’d though she was openly saying or clearly implying I was a racist for criticizing Obama, I would have been both more direct and stern in my response. She seemed to be bringing race as a factor into the discussion of whether or not Obama’s actions in office are criminal when race wasn’t the issue nor were any comments made about his actions racist. Racism is (in this instance) both irrelevant and a distraction. That racism exists has no bearing on valid criticisms of Obama’s actions as CIC and POTUS. The criticisms that he is a war criminal and a hypocrite are both valid and indeed has more than some merit. It’s not like the nonsense of the Birthers which is little more than thinly veiled (and sometimes raw) racism.

  62. More than likely, he’ll be seen as Bush III. He hasn’t just “disappointed”. Obama has actively damaged civil rights and the Constitution on his watch.

  63. ” However, if you want to try to intimate that I’m a racist because I think that racism is a distraction to this topic?

    Good luck.

    Get help.

You’re going to need it.” (Gene)

She answered you, Gene, in a manner that was far more respectful than you would have gotten from me. Stop beating a dead horse.

  64. Blouise,

I wasn’t the one beating the wrong horse, let alone a dead one.

I also think you know how effective giving me a command is going to be.

  65. WoW, that was a righteous rant! Good on her. Of course she was correct and she was just talking about the US foreign policy, didn’t even get around to consolidating the US as a police state.

Of course the last and president should be labeled as war criminals, and domestic terrorists for shredding (continuing to shred) the Constitution.

Do you all think most people that know what’s what voted for him for a second term without knowing that? Srsly? Maybe it was that Romney support for a national personhood amendment that had something to do with it among his other disastrous domestic positions. As to the foreign policy issues, war etc. well, it’s not Democrats b**chin’ about troop withdrawal in Iraq or Afghanistan, or calling for troops on the ground in Syria, that’s Lindsey Graham.

The cult of personality on the left (if it extends beyond low information voters) is destructive. The same applies to the right. Rigid ideology on the left is just as as destructive. The same applies to the right.

The only question is how wide the destruction extends and for how long.

  66. As per usual, gainsaying morons are blindly loyal to one party while ignoring when their own leaders commit the same crimes. Those in the US calling for Obama’s impeachment for murders and violations of the constitution are the same halfwits who said nothing when Bu**sh** did the same things. And the reverse will be true again after the next republiclown president gets elected.

  67. Blouise,

Not particularly. I accept Smom at her word she wasn’t trying to imply racism. In all the years I’ve known her, I’ve never found her to be a liar. However, I’m neither going to back down from the position that racism is not always relevant nor that it doesn’t apply to criticism of Obama as a war criminal and general hypocrite. One is a set of defined crimes, domestic and international, the other is a character flaw. Neither have anything to do with his skin color or the Martin case.

    There is nothing to defuse.

  68. Darren [to SWM but as an Obama voter I feel free to respond]: “Or, is it the case where however wrong the president might be, others such as republicans, liberterians or other groups in the US are more wrong, thereby the actions of the president are excusable?”
    ******

Yes. Of course for the purpose of voting but no, it’s not excusable- it’s about picking your poison and limiting damage. What is it about that (which I was arguing before 2012) is so hard for some people here [Hellooooooo Gene :-) among others] to understand?

The retroactively “excusable” ship sailed with Gerald Ford IMO. Ronald Reagan should still be in jail as a mouldering corpse for Iran-Contra. People, get your heads straight. There are things lost to us and they aren’t coming back by pulling the lever for some no-chance-to- win third party candidate. The SCOTUS is comfortable appointing our president’s. Have you not been watching? (Restraining the urge to use all-caps) LOL, you guys just make me crazy with your IMO misplaced optimism about the system.

I will though echo Rafflaw constant and absolutely correct refrain: getting the money out of politics would be an excellent first step and bring many of the systemic problems our political system now has to a halt. That would be a good first step.

  69. LK,

I understand the “lesser of two evils” argument. As explained numerous times before, as one whose primary political loyalty is to protect the Constitution from enemies both foreign and domestic, it is one I cannot personally abide although I don’t begrudge those who voted for Obama a second time based on that rationale. I have to operate under some restraints others do not have when it comes to political choice and I accept that. However, there is a difference between choosing the lesser evil and turning a blind eye to it.

And as far as raff’s refrain, you’re singing to the choir on that one.

There is no more corrupting influence on politics and more damaging to our social systems (in the broadest sense of that term) than money.

We would not be in the position we are today but for the dismantling of FECA and the horrendous irrational decision of Buckley v. Valeo.

  70. I see that very few people know what a real cult of personality is. One can think of many such as Mao, Stalin, Hitler, etc.. and to compare any person who voted for Obama to the supporters of such cretins shows more about the ones who make such charges than the supposedly guilty parties.

The intemperate remarks by this whore, makes the case that she is deranged and is only concerned with making a scene rather than poiitical discourse. She ought to know what pimps are like for sure as well as terrorists who like to kill innocent civilians as well.

As one who voted for Obama twice, I have no regrets about it since I knew full well what his policies were and his faults. There are a number of issues I have major disagreements with. The closest we in the US have come to a President with a cult of personality is Reagan. I still hate that the airport in DC is named after the worst aviation President in our history.

  71. i would personally give the lady a standing ovation if she herself weren’t part of the polietrickers system. on that note i say tighten up your seat belts the beginning of obamas end has begun..

you’re going to find out that!!

    1. obama is not kenyan but indonesian

    2. he is also homosexual and larry smith was telling the truth the whole time.

3.his so called family and friends photos were photoshopped. i dont see how anyone missed the anomalies of those but hey.. i missed a few

    4. we’re gloing to find out that there will be no more potus only a one world government.

    5. the religions you’ve been studying were taught to you the wrong way. and the list goes on..

  72. “A cult of personality arises when an individual uses mass media, propaganda, or other methods, to create an idealized, heroic, and, at times god-like public image, often through unquestioning flattery and praise. Sociologist Max Weber developed a tripartite classification of authority; the cult of personality holds parallels with what Weber defined as ‘charismatic authority’.”

    Sounds vaguely familiar.

  73. Lottakatz,

Hard to state how much your posts mean to me, and how strongly I feel and/or think about the matters you illuminate. ie: “There are things lost to us and they aren’t coming back by pulling the lever for some no-chance-to- win third party candidate.”

I don’t think-feel that way at all. Standing up for what I believe in, and choosing not a lesser evil but no evil, is just proof that things have not been lost TO ME, regardless of what society itself may or may not have lost. And I wish others would not necessarily join me, I’m as dull as the next individual, but rather stand for what they know is right, even if they stand alone. I respect that, and the luminaries fall quickly when I apply that principle.

    But that’s just me.

Furthermore, — “The only question is how wide the destruction extends and for how long.”

That’s the crux of the matter that rubs me every which way. I see poverty and pain spreading as a result of the groupthink mentality, and more and more I’m starting to turn on my back on it. When people choose evil, whatever their self-justifications, let them have it.

I have my solutions for moving society forward. As I get older (I’m 35), I get less and less inclined to shoulder those that both actively and inactively chose evil. Whatever the rationalization.

Should I care when people cry, if they did it to themselves?

  74. In addition to Reagan and Obama, I think there are four other Presidents that have arguably had/have a cult of personality: Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, FDR and JFK. Kennedy and Lincoln more so since their deaths, but Teddy and FDR – like Reagan and Obama – within their time in office.

  75. Jeez Gene. Obama has had

“an idealized, heroic, and, at times god-like public image, often through unquestioning flattery and praise.” ?

Are you just toying with us now?

  76. Nate, I feel your pain. Gene is also a ‘principled abstainer’. At one time so was I. I voted for third parties, did write-ins and protest votes. Nothing changed. Show me a third party candidate that has a chance to win that I want to vote for- not a lock on a win, just a chance will do- and I’ll VERY strongly consider going back to that way of voting. I like optimism, I could do optimism again.

I was toying with the berzerker voting model, voting against my and the country’s best interest just to force the issue but couldn’t do it. I see some differences from among a bad field and I just have to participate on the basis that if the wrong decision from that bad field could be politically cataclysmic.

There is though a lot to be said for George Carlin’s advice. I think about it every election, but I can’t quite endorse it.

  77. During Lincoln’s life time, he most certainly did not have a cult of personality since he was one of the most reviled Presidents in our history. He also would have drawn the ire of most of the people on this site for his restrictions on civil liberties and the draft. I would have been proud to have voted for him twice had I been around, despite his trampling of the Constitution in many areas. After his death and JFKs, there is no question that both became deified by many people. I would hesitate to call it a personality cult since they could grant no favors politically speaking.

FDR was very well hated by over 45% of the voters. I know for a fact that my GOP family thought of him as a dictator and an outrageous person. So I have a hard time crediting that as a cult of personality since there were so many voices against him. In fact, the GOP called and still calls FDR a traitor and it is more true that the FDR haters are the ones who have the cult of anti-personality since they have little reason behind it.. As for Teddy Roosevelt, it is rather tough to make that case for him since he was probably the biggest personality in our Presidential history, but even then he was well hated by many. I love the quote from Jay Gould who noted that after TR left office and went on his African safari, ” I hope that every lion will do his duty”

All in all, these Presidents have all done things that were questionable on Constitutional matters, so I have a hard time thinking that we are on the cusp of a dictatotrsihp. IN fact, I can think of much worse times, than the one we are in.

  78. Swarthmore, how dare you call me a racist because I said “different breed”. Race doesnt have a thing to do with it. You truly are delusional and irrational.

Your hatred of anything that is not progressive partisan is disturbing.
You are obsessed with your rage against the middle and the right. You can see the venom dripping from every post you make. People like you scare me. You give the progressive movement a bad name.

  79. justateacher,

Obama has enjoyed an idealized and heroic public image and often through unquestioning flattery and praise. This is not changed by him having partisan detractors (or even non-partisan detractors). Even Stalin had critics. He just skipped the media circus and shot his or sent them to Siberia. On matters of Constitutional import and criminal in nature, Obama often gets a pass both in the media and from his more diehard supporters who – for example – would have been calling for Bush’s head on a pike if he’d claimed the ultra vires power to kill American citizens without due process. You don’t hear much about that ongoing Constitutional violation in the media anymore, do you? See Michael Murry’s quote of Orwell above. They’ve all – both the pols and the bought and paid for MSM – bought into the Nixon meme: “It’s not illegal when the President does it.” It’s a form of hero worship and it’s both factually blind and intellectually dishonest at the same time.

  80. Ms. Daly’s observations are entirely accurate. Pres. Obama has gradually abandoned the rule of law principles he so elegantly and passionately embraced during the 2008 campaign. I don’t pretend to understand why. She is being criticized solely because our alliance with Great Britain trumps everything else and the two governments are fully aligned in their efforts to prevent exposure of some hard and cynical truths about Iraq.

  81. Randy,

“I would hesitate to call it a personality cult since they could grant no favors politically speaking.”

That’s not a salient feature of the cult of personality.

The cult of personality is about public perception and willingness to forgive transgressions based on charisma.

It need not be uniform or by a vast majority either. Look at how many people loathe Micheal Jackson because of the huge amount of circumstantial evidence he was a pedophile and how many people still love him regardless. Look at charismatic preachers, some of which have gone to prison for crimes, and yet they still have large following. Look at that idiot Sarah Palin and her hanging on at the margins of political influence when she should be running a ski rental shop in Alaska. You betcha! Charisma has power.

    It’s hero worship.

Just like some worship Lincoln despite his Constitutional abuses. And Obama for that matter. No man is my king. The Constitution is the law. No man is above the law.

  82. Gene: ” They’ve all – both the pols and the bought and paid for MSM – bought into the Nixon meme: “It’s not illegal when the President does it.” ”
    —–

If the pols, or at least the pols that commit the acts and defend those acts, actually believed that they wouldn’t have gone to so much trouble to find lawyers that would write BS legal justifications for doing it. The lawyers, the pols, the judges all, ALL know exactly what is going on. It’s a slow-motion coup.

  83. I don’t disagree with any of that, LK, but just because you believe something doesn’t mean it isn’t wise to seek the window dressing of propriety for your illegalities. Appearances and perception are a key to good propaganda. Hitler had the Homeland Patriot Act, er, Reichstag Fire Decree to back him up. Didn’t make him any less the fascist dictator.

If and when trials are had? Bybee, Addington and Yoo (and quite a few other DC wonk lawyers) need to be in the dock too for their role in this subversion of our government. I hate a fascist no matter what their job title is and even more so when they violate their oath to protect the Constitution.

  84. Let’s face it. This has been the case in the US for many years. IF Obama is a war criminal (and I’ll give you that as someone who campaigned for him), so is Bush, Reagan, Johnson…. and I’m sure I’m missing a few. Anyone involved in the “Vietnam War”… anyone involved in Reagan’s arms for hostages scheme (so I am missing Bush I). Let’s face it – only non-Americans are war criminals. We are never held accountable for the evil that we do. A shame, a true shame.

  85. 2514kasu,
We fold under the pressure of personal responsibility, instead opting for a fall guy somewhere else… i.e. Who broke the banks a few years back? The greedy home owner that wasn’t qualified for the loan OR the greedy loan officer eyeing a pimp commission for pushing through unqualified loans?

Who got kicked out and who’s sitting pretty?

  86. jcalex47 1, July 23, 2013 at 7:06 am

Swarthmore mom I see that you have a big problem with comprehension. Clare Daly is no longer a socialist.

What makes you think that? Clare is STILL a socialist. She just left the political party to join ANOTHER socialist-leaning party – “United Left Alliance”. Yes the Socialist Party left ULA in Jan 2013 but that doesn’t mean these people dropped their socialist feelings. Remember we have a Vermont Congressman who was a Socialist Mayor in Burlington VT (USA). Bernie Sanders is STILL a Socialist at heart.

But despite all that Mr. Obama has NEVER been one nor desires to be one. If I’m not mistaken Mr. Obama is a Liberal Democrat with Capitalist leanings. He is also all for Globalization. And he is a Church of Christ member NOT a Muslim. Yes he was once in Indonesia against his will (stepfather forced it on him) but his heart wasn’t in it. But since when is being a Muslim bad? Arabic-Terrorists are “criminal extremists” not “Muslim extremists”. They prove false to the Qur’an’s teachings.

  87. sonofthunderboangeres, Maybe jcalex47 thinks Clare Daly joined Ireland’s version of the tea party although I don’t think they have one and no longer believes in socialized medicine. ;) Obama is a member of the episcopal church across from the white house now. An usher there showed me his name in the directory. He was from Nigeria and was very proud of Obama’s membership in his church.

  88. @2514kasu – If you need a POTUS war criminal I give you many besides Mr. Obama who has done nothing wrong despite low-effort-thinkers who think he has:

    1. Let me remind you of BOTH Bushes who started SW Asian wars on hidden agendas (see old 1973 Sydney Pollack movie called “3 Days of the Condor” to see the most earliest clues on their evil future plans for SW Asia).

    2. Nixon who bombed OTHER SE Asian countries OTHER than North Vietnam killing many.

    3. LBJ who CNN reported allegedly used Sarin gas on defecting American soldiers holed up in Laos (see Valley of Death during Operation Tailwind). LBJ also betrayed his country in 1967 by allowing Israel to lethally attack our spy-ship USS Liberty. We already had 8 birds launched to the scene dispatched from the USS America on nuclear exercises in the Med. Admiral Martin lied for LBJ and said he recalled the birds because he thought it was the Russians attacking (???!!!!).

    4. Abraham Lincoln had Confederate Soldiers held in Southern NJ for EIT (enhanced interrogation techniques). At The Fort Delaware Death Pen.

  89. sonofthunderboanerges,

Shame on you … get with the program, man. It’s the The Obama Support-As-Psychosis Meme started in 2008 and morphing enroute to Greg Johnson’s Cult of Personality Surrounding Obama in June 2013.

You are so not with it!

  90. G.Mason 1, July 23, 2013 at 8:13 am

Obama is not a Liberal nor even a Democrat.

Seriously? OK I’ll bite what is he? A Socialist Muslim huh? Did he run on that ticket? OK I see him bending to Conservative willpower which is just a sign of bipartisanism. Nothing wrong with that.

@SWM – When he was a Senator in Chicago he was with the CoC of Chicago. I guess he believes one Protestant religion is just like another I guess. But definitely no longer a Muslim.

What some people get confused is that socialized medicine is not SOCIALISM. Two different things ENTIRELY! They don’t even know that their gramps (or parents) is using socialized medicine right now started by POTUS FDR (who served 4 terms & died in the 4th). I don’t see anyone accusing FDR as being a Socialist. Why the Obama-angst? I can only think of one reason L.E.T. (low-effort-thinkers) would do this. Sarah Palin is not a L.E.T. she is a N.E.T. or NO-effort-thinker. :-)

  91. I am wondering how people decry racial profiling in the Zimmerman case yet look to Obama, the profiler in chief, to stop profiling and bring justice.

What is a drone signature strike if not profiling? What is declaring every male between the ages of 15 and 35 at terrorist when found dead or wounded near a drone strike, or attending a funeral, automatically a terrorist? Did I mention that killer Tuesday, presided over by none other than Obama, decided on killing a 16 year old boy and his 17 year old friend.

Obama cannot speak with any legal or moral authority on this issue. There are people of moral and legal integrity, Obama isn’t one of them.

  92. To explain what low-effort-thinking is please read this 13 page PDF whitepaper by Dr. Scott Edelson: http://tinyurl.com/kdh76qn

What low-hanging-fruit means when people choose to reach for metaphorical fruit from a fruit tree that hangs it fruit closer to the ground because it’s EASY (or lazy) to get at. The REALLY good fruit is nearer the top of the tree where it’s harder to get. So it means L.E.T. go for the low-hangers rather than dig hard for the real truth.

Case in point: Ilya Shapiro, Senior Fellow in Constitutional Studies, Cato Institute wrote “President Obama’s top 10 constitutional violations” at http://dailycaller.com/2011/12/04/president-obamas-top-10-constitutional-violations/

After reading through it you can see he too is a L.E.T. as he misses the salient mission Mr. Obama is trying to follow: “To help A-L-L American citizens survive in a new world order – rich & poor”. No I don’t mean NWO crap. I mean what POTUS HW Bush predicted would be the 21st century with new style of terrorism. Saying that Mr. Obama is being unconstitutional is highly debatable if not disingenuous.

Yes Mr. Obama has changed from his original promises. But in a highly changing world how can you remain static for 8 years and not evolve to keep up with the changing world? Some of Bush’s legacy is actually NOT his at all. Snowden’s PRISM is not a Bush legacy. It’s a JFK legacy as it was called Echelon back then. It has evolved over several presidencies and the public really didn’t know about it. Mr. Obama can’t be blamed for keeping the status-quo on ELINT/SIGINT to uncover the TRUE enemies of the state not the usual suspects.

For the record I never voted for Mr. Obama but I support his efforts as I can understand the stress he is under to do the right thing trying not to piss everybody off. Fortunately, a majority of Obama-haters doesn’t exist.

  93. @Jill – Can you provide citations on your claims? This doesn’t sound at all how the CIA boots-on-the-ground assess a predator strike. The POTUS does not have to make an executive decision to launch a hell fire missile. That is left up to the DCI (Director of CIA) John O. Brennan (John was the actual inventor of the CIA drone strike). Just as long as the scenario fits a particular “profile”, as you say, the decision can even be made by a SRO operating the drones (i.e. from Nevada). If someone screws up Mr. Obama gets blamed for it as “The Buck Stops Here” right?

The one case of “collateral damage” to a 16-year old American boy in Yemen was because of his dad (an Al-Quaeda group leader) not watching him and allowing him to carelessly walk into a desert CIA drone kill-zone. That was an unavoidable accident. The CIA spotter on the ground gave bad data back to Langley by not seeing (or caring about) the boy walking into the KZ thinking his dad was there. How is that Mr. Obama’s fault? They got the bad-guys too.

  94. “Yes Mr. Obama has changed from his original promises.”

There is a difference between “change” and “lie”. A change is bringing strawberries when you said you were going to bring blueberries. A lie is stabbing you with a fork when you said you were going to bring blueberries.

But hypocrisy? The practice of claiming to have higher standards or more noble beliefs than is the case? He’s got plenty.

“The detention of American citizens, without access to counsel, fair procedure, or pursuant to judicial authorization, as enemy combatants is unconstitutional.” — Barack Obama; December 2007

“After Vietnam, Congress swore it would never again be duped into war, and even wrote a new law — the War Powers Act — to ensure it would not repeat its mistakes. But no law can force a Congress to stand up to the president. No law can make senators read the intelligence that showed the president was overstating the case for war. No law can give Congress a backbone if it refuses to stand up as the co-equal branch the Constitution made it.” — Barack Obama; October 2007

“The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.” — Barack Obama; December 2007

“I don’t think that should be a top priority of us, raiding people who are using … medical marijuana. With all the things we’ve got to worry about, and our Justice Department should be doing, that probably shouldn’t be a high priority.” — Barack Obama, June 2007

“I would not have the Justice Department prosecuting and raiding medical marijuana users. It’s not a good use of our resources.” — Barack Obama; August 2007

“The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies.” — Barack Obama; March 2006

“What I am opposed to is a dumb war.” — Barack Obama; October 2002

“I will promise you this, that if we have not gotten our troops out by the time I am president, it is the first thing I will do. I will get our troops home. We will bring an end to this war. You can take that to the bank.” — Barack Obama; October 2007

“Why don’t we close Guantanamo and restore the right of habeas corpus, because that’s how we lead, not with the might of our military, but the power of our ideals and the power of our values. It’s time to show the world we’re not a country that ships prisoners in the dead of night to be tortured in far off countries. We’re not a country that runs prisons which locks people away without ever telling them why they’re there or what they’re charged with. We’re not a country which preaches compassion to others while we allow bodies to float down the streets of major American cities. That’s not who we are.” — Barack Obama; 2007

“That means no more illegal wire-tapping of American citizens. No more national security letters to spy on citizens who are not suspected of a crime. No more tracking citizens who do nothing more than protest a misguided war. No more ignoring the law when it is inconvenient. That is not who we are. And it is not what is necessary to defeat the terrorists.” — Barack Obama; August 2007

“The President is not above the law, and the Commander-in-Chief power does not entitle him to use techniques that Congress has specifically banned as torture. We must send a message to the world that America is a nation of laws, and a nation that stands against torture.” — Barack Obama, December 2007

“I also reject the view, suggested in memoranda by the Department of Justice, that the President may do whatever he deems necessary to protect national security, and that he may torture people in defiance of congressional enactments. In my view, torture is unconstitutional, and certain enhanced interrogation techniques like ‘waterboarding’ clearly constitute torture.” — Barack Obama, December 2007

You wanted some examples of Obama’s hypocrisy.

    There you go.

  95. Blouise 1, July 23, 2013 at 8:44 am

    sonofthunderboanerges,

Shame on you … get with the program, man. It’s the The Obama Support-As-Psychosis Meme started in 2008 and morphing enroute to Greg Johnson’s Cult of Personality Surrounding Obama in June 2013.

You are so not with it!

    LMAO!

Hey isn’t that “cult of personality” bit used mainly by Commies in history?

I think the DPRK’s “Great Leader” that has dinner with US Basketball players (Dennis Rodman) is being referred to in this manner. Also his show-tune loving (but dead) poppie “Dear Leader” was too. Commies as far as Romania where having “cult of personality” love-ins with Dear Leader’s poppie.

However, I don’t think C.O.P. applies to you and I (et al) over Mr. Obama. I just see what I see (empirically) and can find no MAJOR faults in him yet (in high-effort-thinking comparison to his predecessor) . Does he have faults – hell yeah! But the “ends justify the means” – that’s why I said Mr. Obama and I are a tad Machiavellian. If bugging your phone stops the next 911 then so what? You shouldn’t have been talking to Ayman al-Zawahiri’s body guard in the first place! :-)

  96. “Does he have faults – hell yeah! But the ‘ends justify the means’ – that’s why I said Mr. Obama and I are a tad Machiavellian.”

We must destroy the Constitution to save it! Why, why, why . . . that’s utter genius! Or a huge load of horseshit. Being an unprincipled manipulator is really something to take pride in. If someone takes away from “The Prince” that Machiavelli was a role model, then they took away the wrong lesson. There is a difference between leadership and psychopathy, between the game of politics and the abandonment of principle in the pursuit for absolute power.

  97. sonof,

Please forgive the shortcuts in typing as I’m outside with grandchild using my laptop.

I read the paper(Edelson) after checking out SAGE. My neighbor is a retired prof from Oberlin and he told me he’s submitted many papers to SAGE for peer review and that I can trust the source.

This is a discipline waaay outside my fields of expertise so I had to read it several times but kept coming back to Study 3.

All in all I found it most persuasive.

  98. sonof,

    C O P is L E T so of course it doesn’t apply to us.

What’s your opinion of the “hidden hand leadership” theory if applied to Obama. I believe there is some legit reasons for suspecting that brand of leadership. The problem is that the hidden hand is seldom properly revealed until several years have passed .. ie Eisenhower. I’m jumping off your Machiavellian reference into “hidden hand” territory.

  99. http://stpeteforpeace.org/obama.html OBAMA’S comprehensive record to date (2013). No speculation here, this is material foundation and full discovery. Links go to the background materials and more.
Pass it around! This is not Party politics, this is precisely what Clare Daly is attempting to expose…unpopular as it may be…these are the hard facts!

  100. I repeat Darren’s question:

“Could there ever come a point in which President Obama would do something so objectionable to you, that you would agree with someone who is what you refer to a right winger who says that President Obama was a failure of a president?”

If the answer is “no”, then the issue of a cult of personality is moot because you are clearly engaging in such behavior.

    That raises another question though:

If being a hypocrite on due process, prosecuting domestic war criminals, the War Powers Act, the Separation of Powers Doctrine, medical marijuana, Guantanamo Bay and torture (all of which are exemplified above) isn’t enough for one to consider Obama a failure, just exactly what is your threshold of evidence? Does he need to torture a citizen pulled at random off the street on the White House lawn before you’ll see he’s a disaster for the Rule of Law or is there some “lower” threshold where you’ll admit he’s a failure?

  101. http://www.counterpunch.org/2013/05/09/obama-in-plunderland/

    MAY 09, 2013
    Down the Corporate Rabbit Hole
    Obama in Plunderland
    by NORMAN SOLOMON

The president’s new choices for Commerce secretary and FCC chair underscore how far down the rabbit hole his populist conceits have tumbled. Yet the Obama rhetoric about standing up for working people against “special interests” is as profuse as ever. Would you care for a spot of Kool-Aid at the Mad Hatter’s tea party?

  102. More “on the record” (alternate source):

How about his record in other areas of policy? Let’s look at a list compiled by author Albert Bates:
“Obama, in 2008 the outsider, in 2012 must defend a governing record that looks like George W. Bush on steroids:

Suppression of news of serious war-crimes, including assassination of war correspondents, by prosecution of whistle-blowers like Bradley Manning and Julian Assange
Corruption of the Justice Department, NSA, FBI and CIA to cover an ongoing criminal enterprise involving some $5 trillion in long-term graft from no-bid contracts going to the 1% — $50,000 per average US family, being extracted in taxes, inflation, bank defaults, student loans and diminished public services
Conspiring with local police and mayors to quash and evict the Occupy movement
Pursuing murderous US wars in Iraq and Afghanistan in Orwellian opposition to international law
Expanding US wars and armed attacks into more and more countries, despite treaties after both world wars that make use of military unlawful unless a country’s government attacks first (Kellogg-Briand and UN Charter)
Expanding terrorist-by-definition drone wars on Libya, Pakistan, Somalia, and Yemen (now spending more on drone operations than the entire budget of the CIA)
Calling for more illegal wars on Syria and Iran while darkly hinting of an official first strike policy for use of nuclear weapons
Torpedoing the nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament negotiations and ramping up new nuclear weapon design, testing, and deployment
Suppression of news from Fukushima, including ordering EPA to halt air and food sampling and working with other countries towards the same ends
Assassination of Americans upon the non-reviewable dictate of the president
Maintaining the Bush-era torture prisons and black sites
Maintaining illegal rendition as official policy
Control-drown/waterboarding anyone deemed a “terrorist” and extending sensory deprivation to local jails and State prisons despite all US and international case law finding this to be torture
NDAA 2012 and 2006 Military Commissions Act that state the president can dictate any person as a “terrorist suspect,” and then disappear them without challenge or recourse
Signing presidential executive order saying the US government can seize any resource, any person, at any time for “national defense”
Minting his own Alberto Gonzales continuing criminal enterprise rubber stamp — Eric Holder
Siding with Exxon, BP and the Koch brothers to accelerate climate- and ocean-destroying pollution; and
Torpedoing the climate talks in Copenhagen, Cancun and Durban. “

If I remember correctly, Obama ran as a Left-wing Progressive, a populist to change the system. Looking at his record since taking office, you would have to conclude that the Far Right is the New Left. …and the Left of yesteryear is certainly long since dead, suffocated and murdered by the Corporate State over the last several decades. Don’t take this rant as an endorsement for Romney, aka Mr. 1%… The Right has gone so far in that direction that they’ve fallen off a cliff.

  103. Good for her….

I can’t wait to read all the detraction’s posted pro Obama people…..should make an interesting read…. focus on what others are doing….not what I’m doing…. maybe he should be regulated as a magician…… he has lots of rabbits……

  104. Obama Expands Militarization of Police
Among items transfered to local law enforcement agencies have been assault rifles and grenade launchers, even Blackhawk helicopters and .50 caliber machine guns; In fiscal year 2011 alone, the Pentagon transferred almost $500 million worth of materials to domestic law enforcement – near double the previous year’s total

    sonof, (s/b SOTB) :-)

    C O P is L E T so of course it doesn’t apply to us.

What’s your opinion of the “hidden hand leadership” theory if applied to Obama. I believe there is some legit reasons for suspecting that brand of leadership. The problem is that the hidden hand is seldom properly revealed until several years have passed .. ie Eisenhower. I’m jumping off your Machiavellian reference into “hidden hand” territory.

Oh hell yeah! I will agree with Bruce and Gene that OBH does have a “hidden hand”. Of course I am a Judeo-Christian and I believe the scriptures that detailed a certain fallen-angel’s lofty offer of “governments” (aka kingdoms) to Jesus and he refused emphatically. Also in the Book of Daniel he details that there are metaphysical powers (fallen-angels) that are “prices” of all countries on Earth (i.e. Persia and Greece at the time?)

But let me get off that Bible stuff and come down more to Earth. Dr. John Coleman (ex-MI6 intelligence officer of the Angola Desk) claims that there are 300 rich men that are the real “hidden hands” today. He calls them the Committee of 300. He said that he stumbled on this intel during data-mining on some background reports involving his station. The dots connected and now he’s being vilified like my friend Wayne Madsen.

Yes I know Obama’s mom was a CIA agent. So what? The use journalists, preachers, children, etc. So do the Russians and the Chinese. His father was working with her too. Yes Mr. Obama may have been involved with helping mom at times. But guess what? The CIA works for him now!

Was he groomed for POTUS? I really don’t know. But I have no problem with it just as long as it had nothing to do with the CIA-version Dulles and Bush were part of (Yalies?). As the late Daniel Inouye (D-HW) said during Iran-Contra hearings there are TWO CIAs. The one you know and the one you don’t (paraphrasing before he was cut off by Ollie North’s lawyer).

Is Soros, Buffet, Ortega, Kamprad, Slim part of the CO300? Probably. Definitely George Soros is. Is Gates? I don’t think so as the feds give him so much grief. The others don’t publish their wealth or actually don’t know thier entire worth as it’s so huge (like Scrug McDuck?). However, they attend those Bilderberg Hotel meetings and almost all the Beltway movers and shakers do too. Obama never attends but stays close enough for some sort of RF video feed (a few miles). Who do they work for? Well if you belief in the first paragraph (which many atheists don’t) – should answer that question.

I’m only guessing here. That’s the difference between conspiracy theorist and good guesser. :-)

  106. If the shoe fits… We’ve been trying to warn you people, but you voted him in anyway. And like some unwelcome pestilence, you can’t get rid of him. He managed to thwart the re-election process and get an illegitimate re-election by fraudulent votes. So now we need to wait him out until FINALLY this worthless miserable failure of a president is out of office. He is, by far, the absolute worst president we have ever had in history. Hands down.

  107. Gene H. 1, July 23, 2013 at 10:54 am

    Blouise 1, July 23, 2013 at 11:00 am

Who says I’m proud of my handicaps? Am I a bit psychotic? You already know that answer Gene. I am no leader as I’m too Machiavellian. At least I wouldn’t be a loved leader. Maybe a despicable one.

Mr. Obama should not be like me at all but I think he may be at times. Yes he is manipulative but I think in the real world or the big city, as they say, you have to be like this in politics. Is Mr. Obama Christ-like? Hell no. He admitted to Katie Couric that he would lie to the American public if he had to. So would I but maybe my threshold is lower than OHB’s. All in all what is his true agenda as you see it? To hurt America for his own financial goals like his predecessor and that guys dad did? I say no he’s only trying to help America by any means necessary. I am like that, money is not my first love. My parents used to chide me about that. I threw a $5 bill in the Ohio River once when I was 5-years old. And I’m still poor. Can’t wait till Jan 2014 so I can get some free meds I need… :-)

My typing is pretty bad so don’t sweat it. My friends call me SOTB. I said you didn’t have to actually read it. I said just skim it. It is a wall of words and I hate that. But SAGE is a credible source. Did you like how they got the test subjects drunk first? Dr. Edelson sounds like Dr. Sydney Gotlieb only sans evilness. :-)

  108. sonof,

Well, I had a close relative who worked for the CIA … I think … ;)… anyway … I wonder what that makes me. Wouldn’t mind being part of the 300 for a day so I could go to the spa for a truffle treatment.

Now, let’s talk about the downed 800.

  109. Gene asked:
“If the answer is “no”, then the issue of a cult of personality is moot because you are clearly engaging in such behavior.”
    ~+~
You and I are unlikely to get an answer on that because it is too “hypothetical” a situation. To those who so blindly support President Obama most of them cannot conceive, or rather concede, that he can do any wrong, which enables him to do worse. So any mention of the president committing an impeachable act is as impossible as reversing gravity so it, to them, does not merit discussion.

To me it is more like avoiding the truth and saving face.

  110. @Hubert Cumberdale – Everything you said sounded like the guy BEFORE Obama and that guy’s dad. What is your beef with this POTUS? Did he step on your financial toes? Are you a doctor, hospital administrator, insurance executive, petroleum mogul, neoconservative politician, or are you just a ridge-runner from Bugtussel with a free Netzero account with a broken-down Chevy pickup on blocks in the front yard, screen door with no screens, a shotgun-shack home with a satellite dish out back, and 8 kids on look out for revenuers? And you voted for John McCain and Sarah Palin? Why? You don’t even have a pot to… (you know the rest). :-)

Sorry if I got you all wrong… Just can’t see your angst for Mr. Obama. I guess he has the wrong amount of melanin for you. I don’t know… Nothing else makes any logical sense.

  111. Darren Smith, I think you and i got off on the wrong foot so to speak when you compared Michele Obama to Imelda Marcos. You really know nothing about my political beliefs except what you extract from what I say here. I don’t read your guest blogs and don’t plan to so move along..

  112. Blouise 1, July 23, 2013 at 1:32 pm

    sonof, (SOTB Blouise!)

Well, I had a close relative who worked for the CIA … I think … ;) … anyway … I wonder what that makes me. Wouldn’t mind being part of the 300 for a day so I could go to the spa for a truffle treatment.

Now, let’s talk about the downed 800.

Now your just pushing my buttons… 800? Please don’t get me started. Echelon (PRISM) is already going nuts with the red spinning lights and submarine klaxon horns on my postings over the last 3 months! NSA-CSS is already sitting across the street from my unfortunate wi-fi host/hostess :-)

I’M JUST A GOOD GUESSER AND MOST OF MY INTEL COMES FROM WAYNE MADSEN!!!

To be part of the 300 you’d have to be BORN into it like little Prince “Phillip” yesterday (my bets are on the name PHILLIP by the way)

Do you know how they find truffles? Uucckk!

I don’t have any relatives in there (I think) but I have fellow employees/contractors who have and many other alphabet soups. We contract to a major US corporation in operational research analysis much like Snowden did. Snowden did it for Booz-Allen. We work for http://tinyurl.com/meohjyf

P.S. – What do you want to know about 800? Careful what you wish for…

  113. SOTB,

    Re 300: adoption?

Re the River: … great place is Marietta. Used to take very scary ferry which was just a flat plank … pull your car on it, set the brake and get out to stand beside it. No sides on the ferry. The ferryman pulled you over with ropes. Got off in Sistersville to stay in a lovely old hotel. Well, it used to be lovely when the locals ran it. Wouldn’t go there now because what I found pleasantly scary with the ferry when I was young I now find dangerously scary when I’m old. Go figure.

Perhaps you’re right … we shouldn’t talk about it … even to venture a few guesses. ;)

  114. @Blouise – well it’s 17-years old now… I’ll give you a hint what happened on the same month 8-years before that? Well SOSUS (and it’s relative ADS-IUSS) detected something interesting off LIS. Eyewitnesses saw it surface and a crew member using a MANPAD. USN was already looking for it but had that sinking feeling when they saw the plume (“oh sh*t” moment). Clinton didn’t want to make an international incident and told the FBI SAIC to dummy up over the truth. They got their friends at Langley (DS&T geeks) to do those ridiculous cartoons of what didn’t happen. Google: whistle-blower Timmerman who they did NOT listen to when he blew the whistle MONTHS before it set sail from Hormuz. They bought it from the Russians.

I could be all wet. Go ask your relative. He/she knows…

  115. “All in all what is his true agenda as you see it?”

Protecting the MIC gravy train, the money in politics, perpetuating a two-tiered justice system, expanding the imperial unitary executive and avoiding punishment of pols for their crimes (but especially when both parties have engaged ins said crimes). In short, he’s the worst kind of oligarch/plutocrat/kleptocrat and a boot licking fascist.

    You asked.

  116. Darren,

Tony posted a link to an excellent article on the psychology of decisions and emotional investment the other day. If I could recall what thread it was on, I’d provide the link, but I’m having a brain cloud on it. Maybe he’ll see this and repost the link.

  117. Swarthmore mom

So you mean the thread back in September where you inferred that I was a racist because I compared the spending habits of Michelle Obama to Imelda Marcos?

Your words “Frankly, This is shaping up to be the most racially polarized election ever. The comment by a poster comparing Michele Obama to Imelda Marcos is an example”

    to which I replied

“I am curious as to how you can logically link racism with my comment about how Michelle Obama spends like Imelda Marcos. So any question about the spending habits of a first lady is a racist issue? “

    And you wrote:

“Darren, Cmon, an “arrogant” black man and his Imelda Marcos like wife.”

Nowhere did I mention the race of these two persons but you did. Then you continued with declaring that right wingers are those who criticize the president.

“I found the Imelda Marcos reference on “free republic” as well as other right wing sites. They seems to think the Obamas should not occupy the WHITE HOUSE or wear nice clothing.”

So with this topic (Irish Politician) you stated that you didn’t bring racism into the fold, but it has often been the case with you that you do use the notion or inferrence that anyone who criticises the president is either a racist or a right winger, therefore nobody can have legitimate standing to criticize this president.

  118. Darren, The story drips with covert racism and sexism. Just because you don’t mention it does not mean it is not there. There have been some very good posters that have been quite critical of Obama that did not exude those qualities. Off the top of my head… Anon nurse, ap, bettykath, Tony C, Don S and another older guy that posted from Wisconsin.Blouise might remember his name. and I am sure there have been many more.

  119. So if I don’t mention racist words if I criticize President Obama then why did you still infer that I am a right-winger or a racist? How were my statements different than those persons you mentioned above? Right off the bat you claimed that my comments were racist in nature and then you compared my quotations as being the same as those from a right wing website.

So tell me. How does one not “exude those qualities”? If I don’t mention racist quotes but others do, according to your logic I am then being racist. So how is someone to comment here without being racist?

  120. Darren Smith: “There is a lot of rationalization when it comes to President Obama. Many people support him because allegedly supports ordinary working people, yet he personally displays great amounts of arrogance and the spending habits of his first lady are more toward Imelda Marcos than most other first ladies.” Your words. In many circles calling a black man “arrogant’ is a dog whistle. Maybe you made the remark because you are culturally unaware. Secondly, “the spending habits of his first lady are more toward Imelda Marcos than most other first ladies. Talk about white privilege…Are you to young to remember Jackie Kennedy or Nancy Reagan?

  121. Darren Smith, You will do fine here. I am in the minority and if it weren’t for Blouise, I would be long gone.

  122. Yep,H enman was great. He voted green and was severely disappointed in Obama. He was no libertarian.

  123. Swarthmore,
I agree that it is a urban myth that is promulgated on the Right that Michelle Obama is a big spending First Lady. That being said, I do not consider Darren a racist. Many of us who supported Obama do not agree with a lot of what he has done and I have stated that in multiple threads. If anyone thinks that the mass media is giving Obama a free pass, you may want to look at who owns that mass media. I also do not agree that there is a cult of personality involving Obama. I think it is just supporters who do not want to admit that their choice for President has let them down. It is no different from the Bush supporters who saw Bush’s entrance into Iraq and Gitmo and torture through rose colored glasses. A true supporter of anyone or any cause must speak out when their side is not acting properly.

  124. “Your words. In many circles calling a black man ‘arrogant’ is a dog whistle.”

Or . . . it can just mean he’s arrogant. It’s not as if Darren called him “uppity”. Then you might have a leg to stand on. But calling a man who not only abuses the Constitution on a regular basis but does so with impunity “arrogant” isn’t racist. It’s accurate.

  125. SWM

So essentially from what you are saying the word “arrogant” is one that cannot be applied to an African American male because it is a racist slant. So educate me, since you say I am culturally unaware, what word is a preferrable replacement to describe an African American as being arrogant? Or is it that these men cannot be called arrogant according to your rules.

But since you see things through racial lenses would I have to be African American in order to call President Obama arrogant? Or Asian in order to mention Imeda Marcos? Well I am part way there I suppose because prior to meeting my wife I dated a woman from South Korea and prior to her a woman from Indonesia who I might have even married. So am I still culturally unaware, a racist or what?

  126. Speaking of personality cults, Gene, no doubt you have seen the latest bizarre manifestation of one now dominating American news broadcasts involving a “personality” — and a foreign one at that — that has only barely emerged from the womb of inbred British aristocracy. Professor Juan Cole has a suitably snarky colonial response here

  127. Darren,

You’re being censured….. Why, because you speak your truth…. And the truth has nothing todo with Obama…. Plus you’re a white guy….. Anything you say is wrong…l

  128. MM,

Yeah. That’s something I just really don’t understand. I mean I understand the psychology of it, but just not the attraction. We fought a war to get rid of royalty and some still obsess on royalty. Although we have the same media obsession with “celebrity babies”. I’m of the mind “who cares?”

But you should know, your hyperlink is broken.

As a fan of good snark, I was looking forward to the read.

  129. Blouise 1, July 23, 2013 at 2:32 pm

    SOTB,

Can’t … he/she’s dead … but he/she was at the site making lots and lots of guesses

Oh I’m sorry to hear that he got a star on the wall huh? I hope he got the job done and went out fighting… That sucks!

So at least he was active in 1996 during Clinton Admin. Probably was under Deutch. That’s when DCI Colby had that unfortunate “accident” in his kayack (27Apr-96). I guess he was trying to piece together how we missed the Assohola planing this little hat trick on the 8th year anniversary of the Air Airbus A300 incident at Hormuz. At least they got the missile right. Only where it came from was the real eye-opener.

    re link: smarta$$
OK swoop! Way over my head. Explain please. My head is starting to hurt. Too many word alls… :-)

  130. That was some fine snark. I particularly liked:

“So, you know, take your time. You’ll want to be able to walk and say a few words. Get potty-trained (though that isn’t really a prerequisite for our politicians). But as soon as you can, we’d like you to become monarch of the United Kingdom of the American States and rule us as an absolute monarch.”

  131. @Dante – Alex Jones is F.O.S. Mr. Obama is not AUTHORIZING drone strikes on children. He is being assured by the Director of CIA that they will be “surgical strikes” with little or no innocent bystanders (aka collateral damage) killed or injured. For some reason the CIA thinks these drones can’t be seen. However, the camera turret lens gives off a tell-tale sun reflection and everyone on the ground knows it’s coming. So they put in human shields thinking the drone SRO or the DCI will abort the mission. Normally there is no abort due to the high-value-target opportunity that is a one and done deal can’t be replicated later. So would you like HVT in your back yard? This also saves our soldiers and spooks lives. A MQ-1 crashes who cares? You got any better ideas to get the bad-guys before they get us?

  132. Two good women down..

The day Elaine, Blouise, and SwM leave the Turley blog will be officially dead.

  133. Gene H. 1, July 23, 2013 at 2:35 pm

    You asked.

What should we do about our Defense Industry? Let them fail? I would allow Carlyle Group* fail but they where smart enuf’ to go overseas and join up with BaE (UK). (*HW Bush MIC company).

    What money in politics?

Two-tiered justice system— I can’t debate with you on this as it sounds like an opinion rather than an alleged fact.

    Expansion: give me some examples…

No the worst was the last guy and possibly his dad…
    =====================================
Just to set the record straight on Michelle’s spending habits. Everyone realizes they were multimillionaires BEFORE he got elected POTUS? What they do with their personal money is totally their business. But if they spend taxpayer money on personal things then that’s more OUR business then. And Mrs. Marcos spent most of her money on shoes. Michelle hasn’t. The last guy had plenty of problems with shoes though… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gsJhWnt90Z8
    =====================================

  134. @Dante – A Gulf Stream and 2 C130’s at Shannon Airport? That was probably the USSS POTUS Protection advance team that show 2 weeks before the POTUS to secure the route. Then when he arrives his tank-like limo and other cars are on C130’s. She is so stupid.

GW Bush arrived at Heathrow with his entourage of C130’s and guess what he had aboard? PM Tony Blair no f***king way!!! This is what he tried to bring in-country: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LvHMbN_epe4

WTF did he expect to use this on in London??!!!

  135. SwM,

Henman had sincere difficulty with the lessor of two evils argument.

The truly funny thing about all this is that neither you or I supported Obama first time around and thus experienced no shock when he failed to meet expectations. Everybody else is moaning and groaning about how he let them down … Not you and me ’cause we didn’t have any down to be let from.

As to being arrogant … Well, let’s be honest about it … He’s a black man who made it to the top of the heap … Twice … and at a time when the country was being flushed down the financial toilet … call it arrogant … I call it achievement.

  136. sotb,

“What should we do about our Defense Industry? Let them fail? I would allow Carlyle Group* fail but they where smart enuf’ to go overseas and join up with BaE (UK). (*HW Bush MIC company).”

We shouldn’t base our foreign policy on keeping them in fat contracts and fully employed. If the go out of business? Screw ’em. We currently spend a hugely disproportionate amount of money on defense compared to other countries for wars that are unnecessary and against “terrorism” which is about as likely to result in your death as your own furniture. In 2011, we spent 739 billion dollars on “defense”. Our next nearest competitor? China spent 89.8 billion dollars. Our defense budget that year was more than the next top 10 spenders combined by almost 250 billion dollars. And yet, somehow, we can’t afford to rebuild our infrastructure or fund social programs. Hmmmm. But those defense companies sure are making out like bandits and the pols whose campaigns they fund never seem to suffer from a lack of ad dollars.

    “What money in politics?”

Are you asleep? https://www.opensecrets.org/ is a good place to start if you want to see how money unbalances the electoral and legislative processes. Our “campaign finance system” is little more than formalized graft.

How about the fact that Bush and Cheney got away with treason and political nobody whistleblowers like Manning and Snowden get crucified for starters. The principles of the 14th Amendment mean no man is above the law. Even the President. The Nixonian meme “It’s not illegal if the President does it” – one you seem to buy into with gusto – is legal gibberish by the terms of the Constitution and ethical garbage if you value democracy and egalitarianism.

Yeah, I’ve got an opinion, but it’s based on fact.

  137. What triviality and gibberish in these past personal conversation exchanges. After such an uplifting post, I guess that shows why America is stuck with con artists for leaders?

  138. achievement /əˈtʃiːvm(ə)nt/
    noun

1: a thing done successfully with effort, skill, or courage:to reach this stage is a great achievement

2: [mass noun] the process or fact of achieving something:

    arrogant: /ˈarəg(ə)nt/

    adjective

having or revealing an exaggerated sense of one’s own importance or abilities:

Such as thinking you’re so important that you’re above the law and can assume powers of office that the Constitution does not grant.

Achievement and arrogance are not mutually exclusive. Also disappointment has squat to do with calling a criminal out for being a criminal. That onus is on him. If Hairboy or McCain had gotten elected instead and performed to the same low quality, I’d be calling them out on it too and I wouldn’t vote for either of those clowns if they were the only people running.

Obama’s actions vis a vis civil rights and the Constitution are simply as indefensible as those of Bush/Cheney.

  139. It is time for Nuremberg on the Potomac War Crimes Trials.

And all those who have tried to provide cover for Bush / Obama and their murderers have blood on their hands.

  140. The World’s Biggest Liar and Hypocrite War Criminal Obama promised to shut down the Guantánamo Bay Detention Facility during his first presidential campaign.

  141. I feel sorry for the children of ‘Barry the fairy’… if they are indeed his children. The Obamas may be a CIA manufactured family. I hear the word in Chicago of the gay community is that Michelle is a ‘beard’ – woman posing as the wife of a homosexual.

  142. Jesus did not destroy his neighber with his mouth. Destroy your neighber with your mouth don’t have charity that covers for a multitude of sons. See what I am saying?

But most of all, we are students all the time…. I don’t care where you’re at… What you’re doing…. And who’s there…. Everyone can teach you something…,.. Not all are capable of learning…. That requires an open mind….

  144. By the words I hear the hypocrites are against Obama with a steady stream of accusations. There is nothing good in an accusation. Why give them them to destroy a person?

You my friend are like the rapper 2 Chainz – you are different. The rest sound like paranoid-schizophrenic babblers. What you say is important and valid. I enjoy reading your posts. I have to agree with this one but being like the “Prince”; Barry (was his real name once) and I have to keep the status-quo or the entire system might fail. And where does that leave us defenselessly. I mean without Boeing, Martin-Marietta, Raytheon, etc. what would happen to America? I don’t know what POTUS ever bit the hand that feeds America (and him). In a perfect world than yes – screw ’em all. Destroy Wall Street – OK – it would stop so many conspiratorial activities against America but what do we do after that? Thread water and let the EU take care of us in a One World Government. I don’t think so. China as well as DPRK are spending critical dollars (or Yuans) that feed their people. Obama is trying to stop the Republicans from taking food out of our mouths – literally (i.e. destroying SNAP program?)

    “What money in politics?”

Are you asleep? https://www.opensecrets.org/ is a good place to start if you want to see how money unbalances the electoral and legislative processes. Our “campaign finance system” is little more than formalized graft.

Yes pretty much. I get too much sleep though – (LOL)

Yes I know about “campaign finance reform”. I kinda’ thought it was a step in the Right direction to keep the Republicans honest – d’oh too late! That’s a tall order which is probably one of those perfect world model thingies.

However, I agree with you it aint working. Back to the drawing board I guess. You should become a pol and see if you can bring change that’s needed.

“Two-tiered justice system— I can’t debate with you on this as it sounds like an opinion rather than an alleged fact.”

Oh yeah you and I already discussed this. This is one of those things I said “evolve” and might be better handled in a different way. I think the only target should be Dick Cheney. Bush is still hanging himself with his moronic speeches on immigration. His legacy is now set as the WORST POTUS of all time. Somebody needs to do a movie on Dick. A producer/director still alive and not suicided like Ridley Scott.

Yeah, I’ve got an opinion, but it’s based on fact.

    Allegedly…

  146. @Gene H – Snowden and Manning are an odd lot. I’m still not convinced that BOTH of them are not part of some really insane op concocted by some over-achiever in CIA-NCS (with Barry’s approval). With PRISM being so effective how did either of them go off grid – as you and I know is actually impossible. That’s unless you talk to your neighbor over a tin-can and string. Even that can be tapped too (LOL)

  147. Dante, Jonathan Hughes, Bruce, Frank – Are you guys serious or are you all suffering from something in DSM-IV-TR? Mr. Obama is NOT gay. Even though according to mainstream society is no different than being Black or White so is now not a problem. That’s my friend Wayne Madsen’s fault. Wayne is talking out his arse on that one.

Mr. Obama was called “Barry” (short for BARack) by his step date Mr Soyeto. SO F&&KING WHAT? How is that a problem?

Guys (i.e. Jonathan) when your preaching at someone please address that person like this: @Jonathan Hughes It will only help us know who you are aiming your specious religious diatribe at.

Dante please stop spamming – OK?

Bruce – GITMO can not be closed because every time Barry tries his own DEMOCRATS stop him. So stop blaming him. Blame his party. They want to keep it. The right thing to do is reopen the closed supermaxes in NY and Michigan and send them there. They closed Plum Island in NY and moved to central USA (underground I think). They could move them there. At least the microbes will get ’em there (LOL).

    ==========
Blouise – why does your WordPress account keep changing? Am I talking to an imposter with lower case “blouise”? You are upper-case “Blouise” – yes?

  148. ” I have to keep the status-quo or the entire system might fail. And where does that leave us defenselessly.”

Apparently you don’t grasp the scale of the disparity in spending. And the only thing that would fail is the defense industry. That money could be spent elsewhere. Like high speed rail, finding an alternative to carbon based fuels, making sure our educational system is the best in the world, making sure every citizen could get healthcare and not have to worry if it was going to bankrupt them, rebuilding our collapsing infrastructure, basic science research, developing technologies to combat climate change and space exploration. Those few items alone could easily offset the collapse of the defense industry. If you want to talk about lazy thinking? Keeping the “status quo” or “the entire system might fail” is pretty damn lazy. The status quo is not only not working, it’s marching us headlong into fascism and tyranny. And that’s a story that ends badly every time.

    SOTB,

    Re 300: adoption?

I think 1 of 300 John Eleuthere DuPont (Delaware USA) tried that with an Olympic Wrestler (David Schultz) also back in 1996. He was a son of William DuPont Jr (uber-300). I don’t think you want these sociopaths to adopt you. Truffles (dug up by trained hogs) would be the least of your problems. You could ask George Soros (uber-300) but you’d have to move to Hungary and eat gulash (bleech) and celebrate Hanukkah (not bad).

  150. I agree with most of what Gene H said, but he left out one of the best things about non-defense spending which is that the multiplier effect of that kind of spending is FAR in excess of defense. So for every dollar spent on goods and services in the civil sector yeilds twice the return that defense spenidng does.

The reason for that is obvious since defense spending results in nothing that goes on the market for others to buy. Then most of that spending uses high salaried engineers and scientists along with high tech equipment, so what is bought are fewer things, and the money spent is to a very limited small branch of consumers.

Since I lived and grew up during the McCarthy era, and I recall the post WWI USA, we are far freer than we ever were back then. There was the same kind of illegal spying going on, only that hundreds of people were sent to prison for nothing other than incorrect political views. Back then, while the Federal government did not do as much poitical murder as the states, murder by government was a long establish tradition in most parts of the US. So I get a little tired of chicken littles running around saying we are now a fascist state. If the US were truly that, we would NOT be discussing this right now.

I am glad though that many make a protest against some of the bad laws and precedents that have been set. That needs to keep on to prevent worse from happening, but one has to keep a sense of proportion in it. Otherwise, you will inure Americans to the idea that more governmental restrictions are good since they will not be affect by these prohibions. Don’t cry WOLF unless there is a real BIG WOLF that is going to eat you ASAP.

  151. @Gene H – If the MIC fails then that means critical jobs will be lost (a Republican screed). Yes all you said I agree with we (USA) needs all of that. However, I see Mr. Obama doing things to help American high technology (i.e. DARPA, NASA, JPL, etc). He needs to shore up the off-shore outsourcing Dubya started in 2001.

I will concede that he can target some MIC’s like Halliburton, CSC, Academie, etc who all seem to have criminal intent but nobody can prove it.

Your not lazy my friend… you are different. Yes I am lazy. No argument.

  152. @Arthur Randolph Erb – Dammit I think we know each other… we have crossed paths before on the Internets (as Dubya would say) – LOL

Gene H is one of the good ones. The others (you know who you are) are just screeching parrots repeating gibberish. Gene has valid concerns about Barry (President Obama). He is for Globalization. That worries me. I’m a pro-Obama citizen too. Many of the things he said above are quite true. However, you know the old expression “in a perfect world” blah blah blah.

I think Gene’s angst should be aimed at the entire system and not just one POTUS. Mr. Obama is not a king and does not have unilateral control of the country. He can’t close GTMO as his own party objects. He has tried. He can’t gut the MIC as that would be like how JFK, Frank Church, and Leo Ryan tried to do that with the CIA. Where are they now? You think the MIC is not just as powerful? I give Barry an A for effort but he has too many obstacles before him.

Art I remember that old fat drunk McCarthy. You know he was just a puppet of that homo lawyer Roy Cohn.

Back to Gene… He is basically right. If we let the fat cat Industrialists continue to control our country through lobbyists and giving corporations so many breaks we will one day be ruled by a corporate-based governance as predicted in so many models prophesied by sci-fi book authors.

““Nobody who knew Obama in the gay bar scene thought he could possibly be president,” said DuJan.”
    ~+~
    Frank,

You are welcome to join me at my favorite bar, a gay bar in my state’s capital, that I frequent about once a week or so to do some research on your proposal. I like the clientel and the bartender is a pretty good guy. You can mention your suspicions about President Obama’s experiences you proffered in the wnd.com page and I am quite sure many of the bar patrons would be happy to deliver their response to you without hesitation.

Also I didn’t realize the CIA manufactured families. I don’t have children and the adoption process is something I am a bit leary of, but if I could get a couple custom built children from the CIA it would make my wife quite happy. CIA built kids seem to go places in life as you have suggested, straight to the Whitehouse it seems. Their incubation surrogate-bot must be very proud.

So how do I go about ordering a couple CIA children? Do I just pick up a phone and dial some random phone number and say “Hey, I’d like a CIA built child” and a friendly CIA operator will then tap in and take my order?

Sounds exciting. Thanks for the help.

  154. @Darren Smith – LMAO – good one dude…

These guys are parrots repeating conspiracy theories from specious websites like Infowars and that other one I can’t remember. Then there’s my friend Wayne Madsen at waynemadsenreport.com. I believe about 80% what he says as he was a NSA analyst and worked for MIC. But all of his “Obama was a homo” and “The CIA groomed Obama for POTUS” is all WAG (wild-a$$-speculation) on his part. He admits that but the parrots skip over those parts as they have already made up their minds.

However, there is only one POTUS that was “groomed” by CIA as his dad was the CIA Director in 1978 and tried to steal the POTUS spot by executive-succession-by-bullet (i.e. Hinckley Incident). Then there is the rumor that daddy had Jr go through that Dr. Sydney Gottleib program (CIA-TSS-MK Program) to get his dumb-a$$ in line and focused on his two stolen terms as POTUS. Both GWB elections followed the same MO that CIA used in Philippines et al. So yes you can get a CIA groomed child but your last name better be BUSH not Smith. :-)

  155. @Jonathan Hughes – Proverbs 11:9 would not apply to me as I am not trying to destroy Mr. Obama with my mouth (typing). I’m trying to support him. Big difference. However, Clare Daly is a different story. I don’t like what she said about our President as it’s not true and she’s just as guilty of hypocrisy and war crimes due to her affiliation with Socialists, Sien Fien, and IRA. Aren’t the last two terrorist groups?

  157. sotb,

“I think Gene’s angst should be aimed at the entire system and not just one POTUS.”

I think you should be more familiar with my history here before making such a pronouncement.

I’m all about systems, complexity and reduction of systemic error. Although my first column here (“What Makes A Good Law, What Makes A Bad Law?“) was couched in the language of philosophy, I’m very much a technocrat. I approach the subjects of law and society with as much (if not more) of a scientific eye as I do a philosophical eye. Even the philosophical approach taken there was filtered by the reductionism of the scientific method.

Do not mistake my extreme displeasure with one man to be representative of how I look at the problems of government.

I’m not anti-Obama because he’s Obama. I’m not swayed by charisma (particularly in politics) nor do I evaluate what something or someone is by anything other than their function and actions. For example, I don’t consider the Kochs fascists for any other reason than they operate like fascists. They certainly don’t sell themselves or their causes as fascist, but if you understand the nature of fascism, the quality and content of their actions becomes clear. I’m anti-Obama because he’s a war criminal as well as an aider and abettor of treason after the fact and he reflects a systemic failure at self-correction as the checks and balances system was intended to operate. It’s not just his actions at fault, its the inaction of Congress (and to some extent the Judiciary) at fault. If Congress was doing their job as defined by the Constitution, both Bush and Cheney would have been impeached before they left office, the Patriot Act would have never been passed and Citizens United would be nothing but a bad footnote in jurisprudence at this point. The same can be said of Obama. The instant he claimed the ultra vires power to assassinate American citizens without Due Process, he should have been impeached.

    That is a systemic failure.

Not only that, it’s a systemic failure I can trace to its roots. Money in politics. A great many of our systemic dys- and malfunctions have their roots in the soil of what is essentially by function institutionalized graft. It’s not the only systemic problem we have, but it is the taproot.

  158. The people against Obama are trying to destroy Obama. Do you think anything good comes out of trying to destroy anyone? Does trying to destroy Obama teach anyone what is good? What we are going to get is debt. Money is based on debt. Money is mans idea not Gods idea. That is why we have the problems that we have with money.

  159. Glad to hear that Proverbs 11:9 does not apply to you. To jail a person because they cannot pay indeed terrorizes a person. There is no kindness in it having no charity in it. God forgave our infinity debt. For another to not forgive a debt cannot have God in them that forgives debts. That person cannot be forgiven by God.

  160. To Obama and the U.S. Government

    Matthew 23
    King James Version (KJV)

13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.

14 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.

15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.

28 Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

33 Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?

Oh and when the hell are you going to start calling out blacks being racist against whites? You wont because it doesnt fit your agenda.

  164. Gene H. 1, July 24, 2013 at 10:22 am

    sotb,

“I think Gene’s angst should be aimed at the entire system and not just one POTUS.”

I think you should be more familiar with my history here before making such a pronouncement…

Actually you are correct. I admit I was just focusing on your posts in this thread. My apologies for over looking your big picture and only looking at the parts vs the whole. You might say it was a knee-jerk reaction on my part.

I said you are very different from the rest of the pack. One needs to really examine your POV before passing judgment on your state of mind. I agree that Mr. Obama’s true intentions need to be examined by the public (us). I personally can not see a hidden agenda as I see in the “others”. If he is the same as them I really am blind to it.

However, I for one do not believe humans can guide their own destiny without help. I think the past 6,000+ years of human history has proved that. There’s always the selfishness, greed, and avarice, that get’s in the way of true human progress. I truly feel sorry for Mr. Obama as I personally think that the time for testing that theory (human self-rule) is just about up.

    WARNING BIBLE STUFF
Of course I am not an atheist. I believe that a higher power has allowed a certain misanthropic drop-out (i.e. bad-guy) from his heavenly group try to prove that it deserves sovereignty (i.e. right to rule) over humans rather than him. From a Biblical sense the penultimate bad guy has been called the “god of this age” or system of things. Jesus and Paul both referred to him as something like that scripturally. That means that our calamities, success, failures, technical advancements, etc. MAY have been because of the bad-guy above NOT the higher power we know as God.

I believe that the legal challenge in the Book of Job to “prove your case” (i.e. human self-rule with bad-guys help) is in it’s last days. This means Mr. Obama is now a ‘pawn’ of sorts just like Pharaoh (i.e. possibly Ramses ?X?) was during the incident with Moses and the release of the Israelites. In that scenario arguably BOTH meta-physical parties where manipulating Pharaoh mentally (i.e. God turned his heart hard against the Moses’ people…). Jannes and Jambres (Pharaoh ‘s magicians and advisers) proved that Pharaoh was also being manipulated by the bad-guy too.

So why all this mumbo-jumbo from me to reply to your posting? I believe that we (humans) don’t have a clue what to do about Earth’s woes today and we need large-scale help and soon. The present evil prince, ruler, masquerader who has been fooling people (2 Corinthians 11:14) in THINKING he is God has been trying to bring us to the brink of destruction via his other inventions (fundamentalist religions). Case in point was WW2. IMO if it weren’t for the good One giving a little help through Eisenhower and Allan Turing I do not think we would have survived that point in history. There is a lot we are NOT told about WW2 for good reasons.

Then there was the USSR and Red China. They STILL are a threat to our survival only under different names, and then add in DPRK to make things even worse. Al-Queida is a tiny pebble in the real bad-guy pool. The meta-physical penultimate quintessential bad-guy has been very busy ever since 911. Why? Read Revelation 12:12 for your answer.

Mr. Obama should have lost the last election and pass that cup onto someone else. I pray that he (and all of us) survives what’s next…

Sorry for the holy-joe routine… I try not to be pious but sometimes it just overwhelms me… Please serious consider my mumbo-jumbo before summarily dismissing it as the pschyo-babble of a religious nut. Remember Jonah went through the same scenario. And look what happened to the archeologically-proven city of Nineveh. Oh well…

  165. Bruce, Frank, Jonathan – I am PRO-OBAMA! I do not want to see him go down with the ship (or jail). I think there is an alternative and I think he knows what he needs to do. He is not blind to reality as so many seem to be today (Matthew 15:14). Right now we can only pray for him the way Jesus said we should pray to his non-triune God (Matthew 6:9-13). But he may also need to follow an old Cajun-Creole proverb: “When the ‘gators are up to you butt it’s too late to remember that you shudda’ drained the swamp!”

Firing all of his Bush-era cronies probably won’t be enuf’ to save his legacy. Right now all he can do is hope for massive help from a higher-power and hope it’s not the same one that was helping Reagan (astrology?), Dubya (voices & false-evangelicals), Hitler (thule?), etc. I think if he prays to President Eisenhower’s mom’s God he may just have a chance (or not if it’s too late – who knows?).

  166. sonofthunderboanerges; The truth comes in many forms and the fact that you have interpreted it through ancient script needs no apology when it is right on the money. You should remember that these occurrences are not new, they are just at greater and greater magnitudes.

Believe in Obama all you want, but don’t let him marry your daughter!

  167. Oops! I didn’t mean to say “penultimate” or “ultimate” when referring to the first bad-guy (Satan the Devil). I meant to say “quintessential” to refer to the perfect evil-guy. My bad!

  168. The following are 18 similarities between the last financial crisis and today…
#1 According to the Bank of America Merrill Lynch equity strategy team, their big institutional clients are selling stock at a rate not seen “since 2008”.
#2 In 2008, stock prices had wildly diverged from where the economic fundamentals said that they should be. Now it has happened again.
#3 In early 2008, the average price of a gallon of gasoline rose substantially. It is starting to happen again. And remember, whenever the average price of a gallon of gasoline in the U.S. has risen above $3.80 during the past three years, a stock market decline has always followed.
#4 New home prices just experienced their largest two month drop since Lehman Brothers collapsed.
#5 During the last financial crisis, the mortgage delinquency rate rose dramatically. It is starting to happen again.
#6 Prior to the financial crisis of 2008, there was a spike in the number of adjustable rate mortgages. It is happening again.
#7 Just before the last financial crisis, unemployment claims started skyrocketing. Well, initial claims for unemployment benefits are rising again. Once we hit the 400,000 level, we will officially be in the danger zone.
#8 Continuing claims for unemployment benefits just spiked to the highest level since early 2009.
#9 The yield on 10 year Treasuries is now up to 2.60 percent. We also saw the yield on 10 year U.S. Treasuries rise significantly during the first half of 2008.
#10 According to Zero Hedge, “whenever the annual change in core capex, also known as Non-Defense Capital Goods excluding Aircraft shipments goes negative, the US has traditionally entered a recession”. Guess what? It is rapidly heading toward negative territory again.
#11 Average hourly compensation in the United States experienced its largest drop since 2009 during the first quarter of 2013.
#12 In the month of June, spending at restaurants fell by the most that we have seen since February 2008.
#13 Just before the last financial crisis, corporate earnings were very disappointing. Now it is happening again.
#14 Margin debt spiked just before the dot.com bubble burst, it spiked just before the financial crash of 2008, and now it is spiking again.
#15 During 2008, the price of gold fell substantially. Now it is happening again.
#16 Global business confidence is now the lowest that it has been since the last recession.
#17 Back in 2008, the U.S. national debt was rapidly rising to unsustainable levels. We are in much, much worse shape today.
#18 Prior to the last financial crisis, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke assured the American people that home prices would not decline and that there would not be a recession. We all know what happened. Now he is once again promising that everything is going to be just fine.
Are the American people going to fall for it again?
It doesn’t take a genius to see how vulnerable the global economy is right now. Much of Europe is already experiencing an economic depression, debt levels in Asia are higher than ever before, and the U.S. economy has been steadily declining for most of the past decade. If you doubt that the U.S. economy has been declining, please see my previous article entitled “40 Stats That Prove The U.S. Economy Has Already Been Collapsing Over The Past Decade”.
And the truth is that most Americans already know that we are in deep trouble. Today, 61 percent of all Americans believe that the country is on the wrong track.
It isn’t that so many people are choosing to be pessimistic. It is just that an increasing number of Americans are waking up to the cold, hard reality that we are facing.
Decades of incredibly foolish decisions have brought us to this point. We allowed our economic infrastructure to be gutted, we consumed far more wealth than we produced, our politicians kept doing incredibly stupid things but we kept voting the same jokers back into office again and again, and over the past 40 years we have blown up the biggest debt bubble in all of human history.
We have been living so far above our means for so long that most of us actually think that our current economic situation is “normal”.

  169. Bruce – I agree with you to a point. But I think you misinterpreted my love of Obama. He is JUST an imperfect human (son of Adam) just like you and I. Humans can not even guide their own steps. How can we expect a human to solve the problems of the world. He believes that Globalization is the PENULTIMATE solution (One Word Governance) and it is not as it is still human. However, we need to choose WHICH god we worship. Jesus said there is a prince of this world and Paul said there is a god of this sytem of things (or age) that is NOT the God of Jesus and Paul. We need to make the same choices they made to survive. Remember Noah? Global Floods are not the future calamity however NASA-JPL will tell you what is coming and soon… (see Revelation 8)

Well he already has Fraser C. Robinson III’s daughter. I’m sure Fraser and Marian would have been proud Barrack chose his daughter. I would. She is so beautiful. Barry is not gay!

With all due respect, they were living in an area smaller than Rhode Island and it was equivalent to saying that a local politician simply reflected the popular predisposition. i am afraid those standards can not be used to evaluate the power involved from Washington DC and the people that weld an artificial leverage on the entire earth. We are, de-mystifyingly, beyond the stage of speaking biblical proportions. We are seriously speaking of things that the ancients could not have possibly conceived, let alone placed into their narrative about existence. The presidency of the United States of America can not, in any stretch of the imagination, be equated to the idea of a common experience of being Human. And I fail to see why you believe that the fact that Obama lived in Indonesia under Suharto, while I grew up under Jon Fitzgerald Kennedy, does not make a qualitative distinction in human development. You can not reduce things to intrinsic metaphysics. You can not call this all human nature. There are obvious fallacies involved in that kind of equivocation.

Geithner was born in Brooklyn, New York, but spent most of his childhood in other countries, including present-day Zimbabwe, Zambia, India, and Thailand where he completed high school at the International School Bangkok

His father, Peter F. Geithner, was the director of the Asia program at the Ford Foundation in New York in the 1990s. During the early 1980s, Peter Geithner oversaw the Ford Foundation’s microfinance programs in Indonesia being developed by Ann Dunham Soetoro,

President Barack Obama’s mother, and they met in person at least once..

Geithner’s maternal grandfather, Charles F. Moore, was an adviser to President Dwight D. Eisenhower and served as Vice President of Public Relations from 1952-1964 for Ford Motor Company.

Geithner worked for Kissinger Associates in Washington for three years and then joined the International Affairs division of the U.S. Treasury Department in 1988. He went on to serve as an attaché at the Embassy of the United States in Tokyo. He was deputy assistant secretary for international monetary and financial policy (1995–1996), senior deputy assistant secretary for international affairs
(1996–1997), assistant secretary for international affairs (1997–1998).
He was Under Secretary of the Treasury for International Affairs (1998–2001) under Treasury
Secretaries Robert Rubin and Lawrence Summers. Summers was his mentor, but other sources call him a Rubin protégé.

In 2002 he left the Treasury to join the Council on Foreign Relations as a Senior Fellow in the International Economics department. He was director of the Policy Development and Review Department (2001–2003) at the International Monetary Fund.

  173. Lest we forger these real politik links have roots in succession planning and cold war shadows of gray. The control fraud of leadership is not outside the realm of false flag variations in those shades of gray. It is essential that these questions be raised responsibly and not be suppressed by the treadmill of political consensus and narrative marketing practices that ostracize the real journalists doing an impossible job against the tides and currents that dictate to careers. I have been wondering why our own Presidents exposure to Suharto has never been explored:

    Indonesia
In 1966 or 1967 Ann Dunham married Indonesian Muslim Lolo Soetoro Mangunharjo (1936-1987), who she had met at the University of Hawaii. By birth, Soetoro was Malaysian, but he had lived in Indonesia most of his life. Soon after his marriage to Dunham, Soetoro returned, alone, to Indonesia. Obama and Dunham later moved to Indonesia to join Soetoro, probably in 1967. Soetoro then adopted Obama, whose name was changed to Barry Soetoro. Elementary school records in Indonesia list Obama’s name as Barry Soetoro, his religion as Islam, and his citizenship as Indonesian. While in Jakarta, Obama attended Franciscus Primary School (1967-1969) and Besuki State Elementary School Menteng 01 (1969-1971). [6,14,172,289,324,329,801]
Interestingly, while in the third grade in Indonesia, Obama wrote an essay saying he wanted to become president. Perhaps as a foreshadowing of future questions about his status as a natural born citizen of the United States and the constitutionally relevant issue of divided loyalties, Obama included in his essay the remark that he was not sure of “what country” he would like to be President. [842, p. 30]
Lolo Soetoro had been an official of the Director General’s office in the TNI Topograohy division of the Indonesian Army. He later became an executive with American Mobil corporation, where he was a key liaison between the oil company and the Suharto regime. Suharto had been “installed” as the American friendly Indonesian President in 1967, after a CIA-engineered 1965-1967 coup that deposed President Sukarno – who was considered soft on communism and a threat to American oil interests. Strangely, the leftist Ann Dunham, who would have been more politically sympathetic to the deposed Sukarno, married Soetoro, a man with ties to the bloodthirsty dictator Suharto. [615,842 p. 29]

  174. To associate the word perfect to Satan is an oxymoronic statement. He is the darkest of dark. He is in a body that dies making living things dead calling it good. He is in stars as they violently consume themselves. He is in war with proud people charging into it thinking they are working for freedom doing a good thing.

  175. Take thy bible and burn the false GOD destrioy
the false words of darkness & it’s many legions
thus gain freedom from centuries of lies deceit.

  176. The King James version is not at fault. it is religions being divided against themselves that are the problem. They pervert scripture. That word does not mean what religions taught people. Can you grasp that?

‘Jeremiah 23 >>36And the burden of the LORD shall ye mention no more: for every man’s word shall be his burden; for ye have perverted the words of the living God, of the LORD of hosts our God.

Satan is the deceiver not wanting people to know this. That is why people war.
Hell is lied about. It is not what religion say, please teach others.
God’s glory seen as if it was fire = hell to evil. KJV, 1 John 1;5, God is light. Heb;12:29; a consuming fire. James 1:17, Father of lights, Hell is the glorified face of God Moses could not look at or become ashes. That light makes the earth to have no more sea, and melts elements, and consumes the wicked around city of God Rev, 20. Hell is not a place. No lost no lake of fire. Gods light is good to those that love to do good.

  177. Religion christianity is but a fraudulant business in having
a rearly turnover of $billions / donated by those in having
been promised a place in a imaginary heaven / a heaven
somewhere beyond the clouds /just follow the yellow brick
road till reach Emrald City from there it an few miles north.

It’s basic advertizing you create a problem then produce
the cure. With christianity It a simple fraud you can’t get
into heaven being a sinner SEX is SIN / as all born from
SEX then all SINNERS (thats the problem) thus the cure
needed. With christianity the cure come with their leader
it claimed he was born of a virgin thus being free of SIN
being free from SIN having the ability to remove the SIN
of others. Once free of SIN Hey Presto one qualifies to
enter a fictional heaven thus / in being with God & Son.

It’s understandable people’s believing such nonsense
victims of centuries of FORCED christian brainwashing
with appalling threats / in that not believing one going
to a place called HELL thus suffering eternal suffering
such nonsense preached to young children / where it
be brainwashing can begin as young a 3yrs 4yrs 5yrs
by 12yrs damage to the childs brain is severe / whom
then trapped in half crazed christian cults / preaching
threats to all whom dare challenging the brainwashing.

  178. You may not realize but the “yellow brick road” was actually a metaphore for what was happening when the Wizard of Oz was written. It was actually a very critical a;;orical piece.
Perhaps you might benefit from the perspective that the real foudation to theology and metaphysics are based upon serious intent to understand our existence, but is quickly corrupted by the reflex reaction to take advantage of the “original” intent to sucker us all. Don’t throw out he baby with the bath water. (But I fully agree with you obvious expose on the hypocrisy and contradictions of the standard & “orthodox” institution of these “controlling” mentalities.

  179. Bruce E Woych / To go from christian brainwashing to theology
& metaphysics in SERIOUS intent to understand existence is as
re-booking a voyage on TITANIC where expect a different result.

Christianity’s a dung heap don’t waste your time trying to give it
value beyond that enriching the soil growing / potatoes cabbage
etc etc. Let your fears go /do not bow or humble yourself before
such liars / criminals / responsible for countless deaths suffering.

I did write a earlier comment (see above) as how to advance in understanding as experience understanding creation /knowing
creator via practical experience / which giving gifting one clarity
in understanding going beyond ideas belief /in knowing creator.

  180. Of couse. what you are referring to is an honest interpretation of existence in counterattack to the status quo that has served itself.

  181. Bruce E Woych / I’m telling you about practical experience of
the power of creation / that such experience itself but the only
means answeing all questions all questions to existence once
beyond ideas belief be a experience to lighten the heart brain.

The point being you can discuss the issue till your last breath
you’ll be none the wiser / thus go for experience while such a
opportunity presents itself / I can advise / but it’s your choice.

Your in having only known focus upon the material creation
you have become accustomed to a active mind /yet you can
still the mind and turn the senses inward / thus experiencing
the very power of creation / such is the ultimate aim of a life.

  182. Jonathan Hughes/ I suggest you (see above) the comment I made earlier
as how one can have practical experience of the power of creation / thus
going beyond ideas as beliefs / unto practical experience of the power of
creation / in such experience bringing clarity of understanding / where all
questions be answered. / I do regard christianity as nonsense however I
understand Jesus was the Teacher of Teachers in his time / and in being
the Teacher of Teacher he taught meditation in one turning the senses
inward / thus he taught knowing the creator via very practical experience.

What christianity became was but a buisness selling religion it having…
little to do with the true teaching of Jesus. In time of Jesus i’was Mary
(mary magdalene) whom t’was the most learned in turning the senses inward / thus her understanding of the power of creation t’was fbut far
anead of the others as the disciples ( they being male ) whom having
little regard for women’s rights / a womans worth then considered less
than the goats or the sheep /thus Mary t’was never given due respect
her writings said in a few words what others took many pages in trying
to explain I tell you such because Jesus and christianity having nought
in common / the first part of bible the jewish scripture is utter nonsense
the christian part is equal nonsense / in having little understanding of
the teachings of Jesus / if some writings of Mary had been presented
then it would have had some value / in the true teachings of Jesus….

However the main piece of news that you need understand is there
always a time where the Teacher of Teachers is on planet Earth in
giving guidance as aid to those whom prepared via meditation in….
turning the senses inward that via meditation then know the creator.

Present timeTeacher of Teachers is Prem Rawat whom will aid all via
meditation in going beyond ideas beliefs unto their / knowing creator.

On pc search put (words of peace) or (words of peace global) on site
a selection of videos in which Prem explains meditation as be a open
invitation he will guide aid all whom prepared furthering their learning
their going beyond ideas beliefs unto understaning creation in their
knowing creator through very practical experience / in gaining clarity.

  183. DON’T FEED THE TROLL !
    The Troll Song

    DON’T FEED THE TROLL !

This Political realism has nothing to do with theology. You people need to see a psychiatrist.

  184. Their are varying viewpoints / as people entittled to their opinion
respect is maintained thus be compassionate in forgiving others.

  185. Warning: Atheists and Agnostics avert thine eyes whilst we bible-thumpers pontificate… LOL

perhaps god was banished from Heaven?

    Jonathan Hughes 1, July 28, 2013 at 3:56 pm

God is heaven in us. How can God banish himself from himself?

I don’t know what Bruce was referring to and I don’t know what Jonathan Hughes was referring to either (…in us? Howz’ dat’? God and His Son(s) are INDIVIDUAL entities or persons with real personal names, personality, individuality, emotions, and free will)…

BUT – Jesus Christ said that the god of this age is Satan. He did not mean His Heavenly Father God who is a good God (Psalms 83:18; Exodus 6:3;). He meant the bad god of this system he referred to as the “prince of this world” or more accurately “ruler of this world” (aka god?) – see John 12:31

Even Christ’s servant Apostle Paul said at 2 Corinthians 4:4:”…among whom the god of this system of things (or age) has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, that the illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God, might not shine through.”

And then Apostle John said at Revelation 9-12: “So down the great dragon was hurled (or banished or cast out of heaven), the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth; he was hurled down to the earth, and his angels were hurled down with him… Woe for the earth and for the sea, because the Devil has come down to YOU, having great anger, knowing he has a short period of time.”.

So maybe this is what Bruce means…

I think we all need to exercise Paul’s words and avoid being like this at 2 Timothy 3:17 “…always learning and yet never able to come to an accurate knowledge of truth.”
