Halliburton/KBR Accused of Cover-Up in Gang Rape

ABC News is reporting a shocking story of an woman who claims to have been ganged raped and then held in a container box by Halliburton/KBR in Iraq.  The story of Jamie Leigh Jones is shocking and demands a congressional investigation into whether this contractor and the Justice Department covered up a heinous criminal act.

According to Jones,  she was gang-raped by Halliburton/KBR coworkers in Baghdad at a KBR camp in the Green Zone.. She says that the company put her under guard in a shipping container with a bed and told her that she could lose her job if she left.

Jones has filed a federal lawsuit against Halliburton and its then-subsidiary KBR.  While the Justice Department investigated, it never brought criminal charges and the laws passed for Iraq may protect these alleged culprits.

There is ample grounds for a tort action, but the failure to proceed with criminal charges calls for investigation.

  1. I wanted to come back to this story as no on had commented about this woman, Jamie’s, gang rape at the hands of Halliburton/KBR in the course of her job, nor had acknowledged her having been left with little recourse.

It ties in, a smidge, with the unpersuasive argument for Inspectors General being independent and wonderful, as in the case of Blackwater -related “Kooky” Crumbles and his oversight site investigation in Iraq

What can be done, or undone, about the State Department having overstepped it’s authority in granting immunity to independent contractors in Iraq?

p.s. I would also like to know more about ‘Sibel’, and why she has been silenced, as relayed here.

  2. YES TO SIBEL EDMONDS…her story must be told as I believe, will shed another TRUTH on the corruption of this administration. Why is it that no one will listen to her? Just another cover up…but the truth will be told and the American people will finally be aware how they have been lied to repeatedly.

TRUTH, JUSTICE, PEACE & FREEDOM WILL PREVAIL !!

  3. Jonathan. While we are on the topic of cover-ups, what do you think about getting Sibel Edmonds on the record? Do you think her reputation is credible? What are her or our choices for getting the information she has out to the American public?
