A curious controversy is emerging from of the recent cloning story out of South Korea. Featured in the international story and photographs was the owner of the cloned pit bull, Bernann McKinney. Her picture was shown so prominently that it caught the eye of some people who claimed that she is a bail abscondee named Joyce McKinney. The other McKinney was allegedly one sick puppy who fled from a perfectly bizarre kidnapping case of a Mormon missionary 30 years earlier.

When confronted, the McKinney flatly denied that she was the same person despite the incredible close likeness. Claiming to be a Hollywood resident, McKinney maintains it is a case of mistaken identity.

Given the underlying allegations, it is the difference between being a rapist and a clone dog owner.

That other McKinney is accused of falling in love with Kirk Anderson, a Mormon missionary, who appears to have spurned her affection. McKinney then got a friend to help kidnap Anderson, tie him up, and try to convince him to wed her. (Just for the record, this is rarely successful as a dating technique). When he refused, she is accused of raping him. He eventually escaped.

In a later court appearance, she said “I loved him so much that I would ski naked down Mount Everest with a carnation up my nose if he asked me to.”

In a curious effort to help, her lawyer proclaimed in court: “Methinks the Mormon doth protest too much . . . you have seen the size of Mr Anderson and you have seen the size of my client.”

McKinney eventually fled but was found later in a topless picture in a magazine. Yet, she was never sought for extradition from the United States to Britain.

With all this cloning, I suppose it is possible to have an evil twin. If not, she may want to work with the South Koreans on an expedited basis.
