Update

We have previously discussed Mary Bale, the cat dumper, here. She sparked an international outrage when a CCTV camera caught her dumping a loving kitteh, named Lola, in a rubbish bin.

Although she faced a maximum fine of £20,000 ($32,036) and six months in jail, she was fined only £265 ($400) and banned from keeping animals for five years.

  1. The question “What’s in a name?” is sometimes posed. In this case? Well, apparentlyly something:

    bale1 vb

    2. to put (goods) into packages or cartons

    carton = “wheelie bin”?

  2. This is ridiculous. Talk about a slap on the wrist. This will continue to be acceptable behavior until an example is made.

  3. IMHO, community service (not at the SPCA, or its equivalent in England) and some “therapy”, especially the latter, might have been in order.
