Meet Mark Siebenmorgen: Our Mugshot of the Week

Yes, this will be our mugshot of the week. Not since the mugshot of Sirius Black from Azkaban has a prisoner made such an impression. Mark Siebenmorgen, 46, was arrested in Milwaukie, Oregon for terrorizing town residents. Who would have guessed?


What is remarkable is that the police in the small town of Milwaukie had to search for this particular suspect. I hope that he did not blend into the local community.

Siebenmorgen began his alleged attacks by sneaking up behind another man and shoving him to the ground. He was then seen jumping on cars and later proceeded to jump from behind a bush to hit a woman with a rock. The police and a K-9 team, however, were unable to find him. It was not until the next day that he was reported in a Safeway store making disturbing comments that they arrested him.

I will assume that the local prosecutors would not object to a mental competence hearing in this case.

He is being held on charges of assault, menacing, harassment and criminal mischief with bail set at $75,000.

BTW to all those who took delight making fun of this man who yes, is a disabled Veteran, who does not do drugs, who is not known to be violent, just manic, who when he is not having an episode is a kind, generous, and giving person. And to those who naturally had a good laugh, which not knowing him, I would have probably doen the same!
    Just wanted to give you an update. His trial was on Dec 17th and he was found NOT GUILTY! He was not the man that did these things! I sat in the courtroom and listened to the witness statements and it was not him. This picture was posed in fun with the police who then released it for a laugh. Funny how the news media doesn’t take the time to tell this side of the story or the results of the trial!

    While I have empathy for this man and, of course, his victims, I ouldn’t help myself… 🙂

    As our host said, “I will assume that the local prosecutors would not object to a mental competence hearing in this case.” This is what needs to happen…

  8. HenMan, Thank you. He called me from jail yesterday and wanted to know if I could bail him out. But not only can I not afford it but it’s really the best place for him right now. He is a danger to himself and to others. I’ve known him for serveral years and have seen him go through this before but this is by far the worst I’ve seen him. I’ve also never known him to be violent before. Hopefully he will get the help he needs while he is locked up. So very sad. I wish I could post a picture of him when he is normal, you all would be very surprised to see the difference. Jekyll/Hyde!

  9. deborah- I didn’t see your two posts while I was writing my reply to Blouise. Sorry- under the circumstances you described, I can only wish him well in coping with his problems.

  10. Blouise- He certainly won’t be invited to the next schafskopf tournament! I wonder whose neck his front teeth are in. The guy should drink more Schlitz and lay off the Red Bull.

  11. Oh and no Meth. He is totally against drugs of any kind, which is why he doesn’t take the meds he needs to control the Mania. He crashed several years ago in a biking accident and lost his teeth. He is scared of the dental work that needs to be done.

  12. I personally know this man and he suffers from Mania. He is usually able to control it with diet and rest, etc. but when he has a Manic episode he obviously becomes a Maniac! It’s very sad because when he is “normal” he really is a nice guy. Very generous, giving, volunteers at homeless shelters, feeding the poor, etc. He is a Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde kind of guy. It’s very sad. And normally, because of his missing teeth, he doesn’t smile very often. He’s a disabled Veteren and it’s terrible to see him embarrassing himself this way. But this is mental illness. When he comes off the Manic episode he will be utterly ashamed. Just wanted to give a different perspective to this man and this picture.

  14. In the real Milwaukee, the one in Wisconsin, we’re more into beer, Usinger’s bratwurst, and gemutlichkeit. (Oops, sorry- my umlaut key is broken). We’re also into seeing our dentist twice a year.

  15. What jumps out at me is the extended length of his lower teeth which fit into the gap created by his missing upper teeth. It would appear that this fellow has been missing his upper teeth for a long period of time.

  17. Now, now, now! We shouldn’t be to hasty here. Tea Baggers, as wrong headed as they are, should still be allowed to campaign.

  18. The next big trick will be trying to find a forensic psychologist willing to see him.
