We have previously discussed, here, the data from NASA’s Goddard Institute of Space Studies showing that 2010 as the warmest climate year on record. We now have confirmation from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). According to NOAA scientists, 2010 tied 2005 as the warmest year of the global surface temperature record, with record keeping beginning in 1880.
Also, Global Historical Climatology Network states that 2010 was the wettest year on record, in terms of global average precipitation.
The map below shows the change on a statewide basis:
The polar bear population is showing the effects of loss of habitat, i.e. sea ice. The southern Beaufort Sea area contains one of the most extensively studied polar bear populations on the planet. The survival rate of cubs has dropped and males are experiencing lower body weight. Data from this population helped lead the the U.S. declaring the polar bear a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act. The western Hudson Bay population has dropped from 1200 in 1987 to 950 individuals in 2004.
Of the 19 subpopulations of polar bears:
- 8 are declining
- 3 are stable
- 1 is increasing
- 7 have insufficient data

Hello everyone and once again thanks for your concern in re to my mom, she is as well as can be expected. I have just returned from the foothills of the Appalachians. Limited phone and no computer in the woods. … I finished my trek on MLK Day from a top of Stone Mountain with an amazing feeling of being free at last. …

Sounds absolutely wonderful … my best to Mom
Bdaman,
Welcome back from your sabbatical. It is unfortunate that you didn’t bring any books based on facts with you. You can choose to keep your head in the sand and deny what is going on all around you, but those of us who live in the reality based world will try to prevent your corporate friends from frying up the Earth.
OK, then if you said it in the nicest way possible I guess all I can say is thank you, so thank you for that.
Sorry here’s the link.

Slarti more bad news for the green sector.
Evergreen Solar Inc. will eliminate 800 jobs in Massachusetts and shut its new factory at the former military base in Devens, just two years after it opened the massive facility to great fanfare and with about $58 million in taxpayer subsidies.
Thats $58 million up in smoke. All that energy consumed at tax payer expense to make the planet greener and it shifts more jobs to China.
bdaman,
I meant what I said and there was nothing un-relaxed about it.
If you don’t like what I post? Then don’t read it. But don’t presume to tell me what I can and cannot say.
That will get you the finger.
And I mean that in the nicest way possible.
Buddha calm down now. Me and you been gettin along real nice like, No need to go there.
Take a deep breath and relax. Repeat after me
Hoooommmmmmmm!!!!!!!!! Hold it, let it out, again deep breath now Hoooooommmmmmm
Here’s the problem as I see it. After years and years of warning of dire consequences because of man made global warming, less people today believe in the theory from just a few years ago. And the ones that do feel it’s a natural variability. They have lost control of the message and have soiled their panties so bad that the entire thing just needs to be thrown out, there simply isn’t a way to which it can be cleaned up. The people behind this scam have all been exposed for who they are and what they are. No need to mention any names 🙂

bdaman,
We’re trying to get away from inciting violence. Not accuracy. I haven’t incited violence. I may warn of it as a consequence of political stupidity, but I never encourage it. I encourage due process, equal protection, equal application and other good things found in the Constitution. And in case you haven’t noticed? You don’t speak for me.
I can do that all on my own.
It’s my 1st Amendment right.
So I’ll tell you like I tell the busybodies: if you don’t like my posts, don’t read them.
You are under no compulsion, legal or otherwise.
Were trying were trying to get away from this type of language.
John King CNN
bdaman,
He said he was okay with being called a fascist apologist.
I was merely being obliging.
Oh, and what’s that other thing . . . accurate.
_____
Not So Deep Cover 9,
One cannot be an anti-propagandist without knowing how propaganda operates. I understand perfectly well how memes propagate. Including those you get from BP’s PR Department for regurgitation here.
As to whatshisface? Being an apologist for the greed is good mantra would make him your buddy, not mine. Besides, I understand you both have the same fashion sense.
Careful not to trip over your over-sized shoes. I wouldn’t want you to bump that big red rubber nose on something. Like, say, if you were inadvertently to stumble over the truth.
Not that you’d recognize it if you saw it.
“If you could read and understand, you’d see the link came from CNN.”
So what? Where did they get the ideas from?
Isnt your buddy Chan writing a “paper” on idea propagation?
He might be interested in this.
Chan:
can you tell Buddha is Laughing how ideas are propagated, he doesnt seem to know.
Your not suppose to call people names or label them. Some crazy nut from the Tea Party might shoot you. I had a great trip with lots of spiritual influences only to come back to this.
No name calling.
playing catch up today, play nice.
No.
If you could read and understand, you’d see the link came from CNN.
As to the dancing?
You should really stop looking the mirror if it confuses you so badly. Psst! Here’s a hint. That monkey you’re seeing isn’t another monkey. It’s just you.
Dance lil’ red monkey dance.
At this point global warming caused by man has been so debunked your statement is laughable at best.
Where did you get that link? CPUSA?
maybe so:
“Ecology and socialism
It will take global people’s unity, all people’s unity, of the working class, the oppressed communities, and sections of monopoly capital, municipal governments, the developing countries and the worldwide environmental movement to curb the power of the transnational corporations and their pollution. This issue can’t wait for socialism. For example, a mass movement must be built to force the Bush administration and congress to adopt the Kyoto Treaty, with all its flaws.
The environmental crisis and the struggle against it has the potential to convince tens of millions that it’s root cause is not just the corporations, but the capitalist system of economic production. They will see that everything is integrally connected to the production process. To save nature and humanity necessitates a change in the mode of production.”
Current emissions risk ‘devastating’ temperature rise, scientists warn

There.
That’s more accurate.
Bdaman:
Indeed, let freedom ring. Martin Luther the King would be troubled by the global warming crowd trying to take food out of people’s mouths by stifling industry.
It probably wasn’t on that noble minds radar. He couldn’t conceive of the venality of sanctimonious Global Warmers.
Hello everyone and once again thanks for your concern in re to my mom, she is as well as can be expected. I have just returned from the foothills of the Appalachians. Limited phone and no computer in the woods. It is amazing to see so much snow on the ground a week after when snowfalls are suppose to be a thing of the past.
I finished my trek on MLK Day from a top of Stone Mountain with an amazing feeling of being free at last.
Let freedom ring.
Dr. King
Let freedom ring from the snowcapped Rockies of Colorado!
Let freedom ring from the curvaceous peaks of California!
But not only that; let freedom ring from Stone Mountain of Georgia!
Let freedom ring from Lookout Mountain of Tennessee!
Let freedom ring from every hill and every molehill of Mississippi. From every mountainside, let freedom ring.
Next up Gatlinburg in a few weeks.
In re to temperatures I realize it’s winter but the worlds temperature is plummeting rather quickly compared to other downward trends. With the oceans now in a cooling phase it will be interesting to see what the summer will bring.
It should go without saying that satellite records corroborate the surface measurements for the period of overlap. For instance the UAH series (so-called because it’s maintained by the University of Alabama at Huntsville) reported a statistical tie between 1998 and 2010:
“As far as the race for warmest year goes, 1998 (+0.424 deg. C) barely edged out 2010 (+0.411 deg. C), but the difference (0.01 deg. C) is nowhere near statistically significant.” -Roy Spencer, UAH
Note that the satellites measure tropospheric temperatures, not temperature at the surface.
