Aloha, Birthers: Obama Releases Long Form Birth Certificate

It turns out Barack Obama is . . . is . . . a citizen. The White House has released President Obama’s long-form birth certificate to put the growing controversy to rest over his birth. Many of us have been critical of the birther conspiracy theories. However, I am not sure why the White House did not do this earlier since it addresses the allegations fully. It will be interesting to see that, now that Obama has produced the certificate, if the movement for state ballot laws declines. While it has been repeatedly stated that the laws are not about Obama, but we will see.

The long-form clearly states the date and other information. It also includes the name of Obama’s father — a focus of recent suggestions that the reason for withholding the document was the name of a different man or the inclusion of Muslim for religion.

Donald Trump immediately took credit for the disclosure stating, “Today, I’m very proud of myself, because I’ve accomplished something that nobody else has been able to accomplish,” Trump told reporters. “Why he didn’t do it when everybody else was asking for it, I don’t know. But I am really honored, frankly, to have played such a big role in hopefully, hopefully getting rid of this issue.”

I am not sure why the White House held on to the document. One theory could be that they knew it would blow up in the faces of Obama’s critics. However, it has served to rally critics for years. Those critics are not likely to register with the DNC now. They are likely to move on to other claims against Obama.

Perhaps now that he clearly was born in Hawaii, they will now claim that his is part of the Hawaiian royalty and thus making him ineligible as the holder of a foreign ennoblement.

    As I said, my suspicion was based upon the fact that NL aka DC7 seemed to have a personal animus towards me (which you have demonstrated as well). I regard this as an untested hypothesis (I also find it unlikely that you would have made the threat on the corrections page) and will not mention it again – baring further evidence – or treat the two of you as the same poster. Since we wouldn’t want to turn Blouise into a Millenialist, how about I go to my corner and ignore you and you do likewise?

    Since this is the professor’s site, I will respect his desire for civility (and apologize to him for my poor behavior) and refrain from voicing my assumption that the prejudice displayed by anyone who continues to question the president’s eligibility is due to race. As I have explained, however, this prejudice is indicative of some form of bigotry and a I will not hesitate to call someone a bigot when they act like a bigot (or make any other allegation that I can back up with evidence).

    If you’d like me to stop calling you a bigot, then all I ask is that you admit that President Obama is eligible for his office – otherwise, I call ‘em like I see ‘em…

    Regarding the WTC collapse, while it’s your right to believe any damn fool thing you’d like, the scientific evidence clearly indicates that WTC 1, WTC 2, and WTC 7 all collapsed as a result of aircraft strikes and deliberately placed accelerants (explosives or incendiaries) did not play a role – I would stake my reputation as a scientist on it. Oh wait, I did. Also, you might want to think twice about what my limitations may or may not be in light of my outing you as ‘DeepCover7′… Also, since you’re so concerned, you’ll be happy to know that I have had the enormous privilege of getting the benefit of Mike Spindell’s considerable wisdom from time to time and that I got some very good news today regarding my career… As always, everyone reading this gets to decide who is or is not a bigot – I know what I think…

    Finally, I am fully aware that Barack Obama Sr. was, in fact, domiciled in Hawai’i (I don’t believe that this was even necessary since Dr. Dunham was an American citizen…). I know this because I looked up the legal definition, read it carefully until I thought I understood it, and then verified that my understanding was correct by consulting with a lawyer. What evidence do you have the Barack Obama Sr. was not domiciled in Hawai’i?

    I wasn’t keeping up with this thread most of the day so I hadn’t read the accusation that was made against you by someone commenting here. I had to stay away for a while. I was getting tired of all the birthers blatherings. I figured there was no point in continuing to argue with prejudiced people who refuse to believe the truth.

    You didn’t answer my question. You merely provided a link where the author paraphrased what Perry claimed was the reason. I asked for the citation to the Texas Constitution that Perry relied upon. Thanks.
    I want to thank all of you who knew that not only would I not out anyone’s identity, but that I did not. It is sad that someone can disparage others without any evidence. I do try to follow the civility standard that Prof. Turley requires, especially when I am a guest blogger on his site. I do mix it up on occasion, but not very often. I will continue to strive to meet Prof. Turley’s expectations.
    As I mentioned earlier today, I do not know how to do what I was accused of doing. It was the first time my lack of knowledge actually helped!
