Republican Presidential Hopeful Loses Bout To Gym Door

Governor Mitch Daniels, pre-stitches

Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels is the subject of much speculation as a potential contender for the GOP presidential nomination. The former Eli Lilly executive turned politician has taken the conservative state to even lower lows of right-wing foolishness by sponsoring legislation to deny children of undocumented workers in-state tuition rates and increasing fines on Indiana employers who hired their parents. Daniels is also no foe of big business as he famously leased the Indiana Toll Road for 75 years to a Spanish conglomerate for $3.85 Billion dollars.

Politically savvy, Daniels has earned the respect, if not admiration, from Democrats who staged a walk-out this year until two controversial bills were removed from the governor’s agenda. Still he is not invincible. Leaving an Indianapolis fitness center yesterday the Governor came face to face with a swinging door and came up the loser. The whack to the head cost him 16 stitches and considerable embarrassment.

The incident is not without a silver lining; It’s good preparation for what appears to be a wide open GOP field and the inevitable hard knocks politics are sure to inflict.

  1. Looking for a Bush family endorsement.

Considering Daddy should have gone to prison for his role in Iran-Contra and Junior is a traitor, why not bypass the middlemen and just seek Satan’s endorsement?

    Seriously.

The way to tell who NOT to vote for under any circumstances is the word of the Bush Crime Family.

  2. Now he’s not running. That leaves Mittens, Paul, Bachmann, T-Paw, and Cain. In other words, an electoral impotence not even tea-flavored Viagra can address.

  3. Bachmann will take Palin’s place if she does not run. She and Cain will be the candidates of the evangelicals and the tea party. With Daniels out, the Bush wing of the republican party will be forced to coalesce around Pawlenty.
