Lawyer’s Nightmare: Alleged Drunk Driver Arrested After Crashing Into Police Car While Wearing “I’m A Drunk” Tee-Shirt

Kevin Daly, 22, may need both a clothing and legal make-over. He was not only arrested for allegedly driving drunk and crashing into a police cruiser, but was wearing a tee-shirt reading “I’m not an alcoholic, I’m a drunk. Alcoholics go to meetings.”

The Suffolk County Police Department says that an officer was on patrol looking for drunk drivers when Daly found him by crashing into his vehicle. The officer is with the Selective Alcohol Fatality Enforcement Team and proceeded to give Daly a sobriety test, which he failed.

Do I sense a plea in the works?

  1. I suppose he was looking for Jesus… Come to me… And I will give you rest…..

  2. @anon – Note to self: Bob, add to list of defenses, submit to DUI attorney-clients.

In a related note, several bondsmen in town used to offer 10% off on bond premiums to people who were arrested wearing their bond company shirts.

  3. Is the guy a lawyer? If so, he should retain F. Lee Bailey who beat a DUI for himself.

  4. A plea? Begging for mercy would be more realistic.

It is a good thing for him that Suffolk County does not have a law against DWS (Driving While Stupid).
