LawDragon has released the results of its increasingly popular survey of the top lawyers in America. I was fortunate to again make the list this year.
The Top 500 Lawyers again includes many familiar names from Carter Phillips to David Bois to the current members of the United States Supreme Court. This year also includes two other academics: Harvard’s Elizabeth Warren and California Irvine’s Edwin Chemerinsky. Warren however is listed as “government/academic” due to her run for the Senate.
Thanks again to LawDragon and congratulations to everyone who made the list this year.
“This superstar in academia, blogging and an expert in executive privilege and national security…”
SUPERSTAR!
Congratulations Professor.
You know AN….I have read my fair share of footnotes…..and anyone that has gone to law school can say….is there are some cases with 4 pages of one footnotes….But you are correct….and that is the risk I take….Thank you again….
Something interesting today on Google Chrome….This appeared ” The Lock (which states that is a secure site….has an X in it…..and https:// have a red line it it….” so I just had to see what was in there, as I had not seen it before….” and this is what it means…
The site uses SSL, but Google Chrome has detected either high-risk insecure content on the page or problems with the site’s certificate. Don’t enter sensitive information on this page. Invalid certificate or other serious https issues could indicate that someone is attempting to tamper with your connection to the site.
FWIW
AY, No problem…, but you never know what good info you might be missing by hopping over links without a passing glance… 🙂
Thank you AN…..
I apologize….My habit is to skip over links….That is why I always appreciate a synopsis….You do a most excellent job….
AY,
The link is in my previous comment… I had intended to post them as one comment..
Congrats professor, you dragon slayer you … 😉
AN,
Do you have a link for that…It has implications on Domestic Cases….Thanks for the update….
High Court: Warrant Needed for GPS Tracking
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
Published: January 23, 2012 at 11:03 AM ET
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court ruled unanimously Monday that police must get a search warrant before using GPS technology to track criminal suspects.
Since I mentioned Scalia and Thomas pejoratively, I’m now obliged to say, that they sometimes make the right call:

Congratulations Professor!
Looking at the list I really have to ask – what are the criteria? How do you compare lawyers so you could identify the top 500?
I agree with both sides. However what I know about you Jonathan leads me to think you are one of the ones not to met with reproach. Congratulations.
Good for you….
Congratulations, sir, on once again being recognized so deservedly. It is an honor and a privilege to be associated with such august company, and that is not hyperbole.
Congratulations JT,
To be named to the top 500 of a profession so large is indeed an honor. However, your own false modesty aside, we all know here it should have been the “Top Ten”.
Clarence Thomas made the list, as well. There must be some mistake… Antonin Scalia, too… If all of the SC justices are on the list, perhaps they should rename it the “Top 509 Lawyers”…
A well-deserved honor for some… Congratulations, Professor Turley.
Great, the top 500 crooks of the Barrister, and the proud to be included. All you esquires haven’t the guts to tell the truth, the WHOLE truth, and nothing but the truth.
I challenge any of you to a debate why the below isn’t law (which it is by the so called Federal Civil Procedure standard (and not law at all), and beyond all the way to the Creator Itself), and why it is not broadcast nationally to the dejure people of this land:

the balance of the documentation is at the same site that completes FCP.
Anyone? Anyone have any courage to test their life/deaths work? I think not.
Please prove me wrong, and yourselves not shills for the crown.
Congratulations, Professor.
