Julia’s Valentine Post

Submitted by Elaine Magliaro, Guest Blogger

It’s hard to believe that I’m already six-months-old! Where has the time gone? I’ve made some amazing progress since I was born last August. I can roll over, sit up, and babble a blue streak.

I have two teeth—and I’m eating solid food. I especially like butternut squash.  Yum!

I’m such a big girl now that I can eat some things without any help.

I love it when Grammy reads to me.

Books are the best! They taste good too.

I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day.

Tell the people who are close to you that you love them. I try—but my mom and dad don’t seem to understand what I’m saying. So…I just give them a big smile. They always smile back at me. Then I smile at them again.

My Grammy picked out a special valentine poem for me to share with you today. The author of the poem is “Unknown.”

To My Valentine

If apples were pears,

And peaches were plums,

And the rose had a different name;

If tigers were bears,

And fingers were thumbs,

I’d love you just the same!

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!

  1. To Julia’s daddy:

When my daughter was as little as Julia, I took up hunting bears . . . with a handgun. Not that I ever intended to shoot a bear, but so that my daughter could tell all the boys that she was sure to attract that her Daddy hunts bears . . . with a handgun.

I know that it worked on some of those boys.

  2. Happy Valentine’s Day, Julia! You get cuter every day, and I am sure more and more precious to you grandmother.

  3. What a cutie. Only thing is, they grow up. It will seem like no time before she is asking for the car keys. Hang on to the precious moments and take lots of pictures.
