Meet Donald Citron: The Alleged “Crapper Scrapper” of Denver

They called him the “crapper scrapper” — a man who was stealing toilet parts from bathrooms in the Denver metro area for cash. Donald Allen Citron, 48, faces 18 charges, including burglary and theft.

Citron allegedly stole pipes and plumbing from locations ranging from Southwest Plaza Mall to the University of Denver to Craig Hospital.

It is hard work for just $6,400.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s office produced an Officer Greaser to describe the bust of the Crapper Scrapper. Officer Jamie Greaser explained “He would carry a bag with him and would go in to public toilets, sometimes lock himself in, sometimes not, and he would very quickly remove all of the equipment from the toilets.”

He was apprehended after an employee saw him leave a bathroom and took down his license plate.

I am very disappointed that the charge is not incommoding. After all, such charges are based act “to make passage inconvenient.” See D.C. Code § 22-1307.

I’m sorry, I just couldn’t take this article seriously after that. 🙂

The AMA needs a new catagory of award, something along the lines of ‘Best Statute Founded Joke in a Blawg Entry or Live Performance.’

    LOL.

The law sounds similar to grave crimes, which are also acts “to make passage inconvenient.”
