Justin Moore, 20, has learned assaults are best committed in some place other than before a live audience on evening news. Ashley Taylor, 23, was doing a live report on rising crime for WMBF in the area. Moore seemed intent on confirming the story by shoving her out of the way, grabbing her microphone and screaming “I am that nigger!” into the camera. He was later arrested by the Myrtle Beach Police Department.
Taylor said that Moore was one of a group of males who approached her crew when they prepared to go live. After his offensive statement on camera, Moore ran off “laughing and yelling.” He is charged with misdemeanor assault and battery, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest.

its not unprecedented. this seems much more like an assault on a reporter to me, especially considering she saw it coming (an element of assault): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMThBcjLt4M
Assault on a microphone.
That was actually kinda funny. That guy has the guts and timing to be a comedian. It’s a shame about the assault charge.

Am I the only one who doesn’t understand half of what that reporter is saying? Why is she speaking so fast?

in a hurry to get the hell out of the neighborhood? i hear they have a crime problem there.
Mike A,
I was thinking the same thing……
I was reading something that only 51% of kids graduate high school in South Carolina…
Perhaps Justin Moore will have the opportunity to think about his actions during his vacation behind bars!
This reminds me of the guy who handed a bank teller a robbery note written on the back of his utility bill.
What Nal said.
Am I the only one who doesn’t understand half of what that reporter is saying? Why is she speaking so fast?
When you have nothing to lose, it hardly made any difference and probably burnished his street cred.
This was more of a Kanye West – Taylor Swift moment.
Assault? He just grabs her microphone. Since IANAL, assault must cover a very broad of actions, including being an ass.
He was scrambling to get the microphone and learned this on that reality show where they pit people against each other like pitt bulls. The public owns the airwaves is his defense. The deposition of the victim should be interesting.
This guy will undoubtely end up as a feature on the show, “America’s Dumbest Crooks.”
As a former tv journalist, I always wondered why this didn’t happen more often. At CNN we used to do a live talk show in the open atrium– right in the center of the food court! Some of us called it the ‘Chuck a Cheeseburger’ show, because we were certain it would eventually happen.
lol
I’m glad she wasn’t hurt, but I’ll have to say the laugh was worth it. You can’t make stupid like that. It’s something one has to be born with.
What a brainiac!
