1408576057271_wps_9_UPDATE_The_St_Ann_Police_The St. Louis County Police Department has announced the suspension of an officer who was seen pointing a semi-automatic assault rifle at a Ferguson, Missouri, protester and threatening to kill him. The confrontation occurred during the protests and looting following the shooting of Michael Brown by Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson. [Warning: foul language]

The confrontation was caught on video, as shown below. The officer can be seen walking around with his assault rifle raised and pointing the weapon at protesters while saying “I’m going to fucking kill you. Get back. Get back.” When asked for his name, the officer is heard to say “Go fuck yourself.” He was later led away by another officer who appeared to get him to lower his weapon.

The police issued a statement that”The unified command strongly feel these actions are inappropriate, and not indicative of the officers who have worked daily to keep the peace.”

He has been “relieved of duty and suspended indefinitely”

    You said:

“I do know Squeaky was running on about how her father said Hitler was a Normal man and not crazy or evil. That is scary in itself. Any Psychiatrist out there will tell you he was a Paranoid Schizophrenic with Delusions of Grandeur or what we now call a Classical Narcissist.”

Would any psychiatrist say that the Muslims calling for the annihilation of Israel, or the Muslims who are anti-semitic, were paranoid schizophrenics with delusions of grandeur, or aka Classical Narcissists??? Would you say it???

  2. Happypappies, your comment directed to me doesn’t make any sense to me, could you please clarify?

  3. Dredd – are you saying that the Jews were running around strapped during the Roman Empire?

  4. Max I did not know that about Tasers. I do know they used Jim Crow like Responses to the crowd and leaving Brown’s body on the ground for 1/2 a day was unforgivable. Using the sound disruptors breaks ear drums police dogs is unbelievable. and the police military gear is the beginning of the Hitler like militarized state.

Annie – this is why people keep saying that Hitler was a Socialist – you go Figure. You are the one making excuses for him and posting pictures of Jesus with a machine gun. You make a cavalier remark about him exterminating people because of their religions and what you didn’t say was because of their race or retardation or any other extenuating circumstance from the Aryan norm and you call that normal and a good leader?????????????

Or was it Squeaky who said that I get you two mixed up by the time I comment because you have the same philosophy it’s hard to keep it separate.

I do know Squeaky was running on about how her father said Hitler was a Normal man and not crazy or evil. That is scary in itself. Any Psychiatrist out there will tell you he was a Paranoid Schizophrenic with Delusions of Grandeur or what we now call a Classical Narcissist.

I lived in this town and St Ann. And the Gentleman that described the streets was Correct. I graduated from Riverview Gardens in 1972. So know when I tell you that St. Ann is the last White hold out in St Louis County and it’s very ugly there, know that’s true. Know the Police department is belligerent and corrupt.

And know the people are poor
Estimated median household income in 2012: $33,632 (it was $32,351 in 2000)
    St. Ann:

    $33,632
    MO:

    $45,321
Estimated per capita income in 2012: $19,816

    1. happypappies – you know all this about Hitler because of your background?

Annie – under the Roman Empire Jews were not allowed to go strapped.

Your generalizations of history are setting Guinness Records.

You should stick to making Guiness beer cans empty.

Dredd – the facts are still out on Wilson. Innocent until proven guilty is usually the standard.

  7. Mespo, You were able to see a lot more in that tape then I. I saw a cop way out of control. We all agree on that. “Protesting kids posing no threat?” That may be the case, but how the hell do you know that? You must have “the shine.” Ask Chris Hayes from MSNBC as he dodged rocks thrown @ him if the protestors posed no threat. We know there were shootings, Molotov cocktails, etc. Hell man, we agree on 90%. It’s just your hateful, “subhuman” rant for which you stand alone. At least I don’t remember anyone else abiding that accusation. I don’t think MikeA or Jonathan would call this guy “subhuman.” Darren sure as hell wouldn’t.

  8. mespo727272,

Just curious: Even with the land route through Constantinople closed by the Turks, why would Columbus think it was a better idea to sail around the world than to just sail through the Mediterranean?

    1. Fiver – it is thought that Columbus miscalculated the distance by about half or worse. He thought the globe was smaller than it was. Hence thinking he would get there in a month or so.

  9. Annie:

I have and do represent lots of cops. Most are good guys but like lawyers and doctors they tolerate way too much from their peers when they prey on the public.

  10. nick:

Not “haters” just folks with standards unwilling to make excuses for wanton, unprovoked violence against protesting kids posing no threat and done by the hands of people we pay to protect us. You want to behave like a subhuman and threaten kids with machine guns for no good reason then you reap what you sow.

    Aristotle proves my point:
“At his best, man is the noblest of all animals; separated from law and justice he is the worst.”

  11. Columbus was a RAAAACIST murderer!!! I was in Genoa last December, he’s a big deal there. I’m reading John Waters Hitch Hiking Across America. You have to appreciate Waters humor to like it. I do. On deck is Carlisle v Army, the story of Jim Thorpe and Ike playing football against each other. Pop Warner is of course the Carlisle coach. It came highly recommended.

  12. While on vacation, I am reading a wonderful book on Christopher Columbus written by Carol Delaney and entitled Columbus and the Quest for Jerusalem. Its central thesis is that Columbus was looking for a westward passage to the Mideast given that the Ottoman Turks had recently captured and sacked Constantinople denying Christians the usual pilgrimage route. Alternately, he wanted to obtain riches from India to finance a new Crusade to recapture Jerusalem which would have been facilitated by the new route.

    Good stuff.

    1. mespo – if you really want to get into the voyage, read Samuel Elliot Morrison’s Admiral of the Ocean Sea. Morrison is a naval historian whose book is hard to beat and a good read.

Are we saying Obama is to blame for both Brown and Ferguson?

In significant part: Yes. In particular: the Obama Department of Justice.

Under Obama, the DOJ has made clear that those with enough power and connections can get away almost anything.

One of Obama’s first items on the agenda was to make clear that torturers would not be investigated, prosecuted, or even fired. Obama’s statement, “Look forward, not back” sent a clear message. Even War Criminals can be casually relieved of responsibility for definitional Crimes Against Humanity if they have the right political juice.

His appointment of corporate defense lawyer Eric Holder sent a similar message – especially to Holder’s former clients on Wall Street. With enough wealth, power and the right connections you can crash the world economy, make a mint doing it, and the Holder DOJ will not prosecute. Obama went far easier on Wall St., after a far worse crisis, than Reagan did after S&L or even than Bush II did after Enron/Worldcom.

So yes, Obama bears some responsibility for Ferguson (though hardly all of it).

  14. Karen, Here’s what’s insane. NO ONE here has defended this guy. But, when he’s called subhuman that is wrong. I think I know why Darren is staying away form this. That mild mannered man might lose it. The cop haters here are showing their true colors. And, they’re doing it proudly. They would never even consider walking or driving through these lawless neighborhoods, but they judge cops who have to work there. Many liberals are the most judgmental people I know. They want their pound of flesh. They are frightening. Thankfully most don’t own guns!

  15. I just heard on the radio that there was a shooting of a mentally disabled man who allegedly tried to get an officer’s gun in Los Angeles. I don’t know anything about it. But they were playing part of a rap song that just came out and went viral calling for retaliation against the police. Informants have said that gangs have an order out for their members to attack cops.

Last night someone opened fire on some police officers.

    This is really bad.

They’re saying we’re a hair’s breadth away from yet another major riot in CA.

  16. Bailers:

I agree that it’s absolutely true that cops can, and do, keep their cool when a crowd gets unruly. I recall when I was in college there was a huge student protest when the Regents hiked our tuition and we heard they gave themselves raises. I went to the protest to find out what happened, and was towards the front when all of a sudden, the feeling of the crowd really changed to anger. There were police guarding the building with those riot shields. Once people stopped talking and started shouting, I wanted to be gone, but people started shoving from behind. Those of us in front were getting shoved violently into the line of cops, who pushed us back with their shields. I was really scared, and shouted “I’m so sorry!” to the cop, and he could clearly see that I was getting thrown into him. It was quite painful, actually, and I was worried about going down. He pulled me behind him and they kind of passed me down the back of the line to get us out. I saw them help other people get out, too.

So it is possible for police to remain professional when a crowd turns into a mob.

    1. Karen – professional is Wyatt Earp during the shoot-out at the OK Corral. He took the only unarmed man and threw him out of the way, so he would not be shot by accident. This during the shooting.
