It took a Brooklyn jury just an hour to convict Christian Ferdinand, 22, for the murder of this girlfriend Shaniesha Forbes, 14. The jury’s disdain for Ferdinand might have been cemented by the comment that he made to police after allegedly confessing to the killing of his girlfriend, burning her body, and stuffing it into a suitcase: “Do you think I can get some kind of community service?”
Ferdinand reportedly was upset after Forbes told him that she was pregnant. Ferdinand said Forbes had told him she was pregnant in a text and told him that she wouldn’t get an abortion because her mom is religious. Ferdinand responded in a text with “My n—a, are you serious? Kill that shit.” He then told police that he later became enraged after she continued to talk about the pregnancy as they laid on a couch. He smothered her will a pillow. He then doused her corpse with Axe body spray and then used a Bic lighter to burn the body. He then stuffed it into a suitcase and threw it into Gerritsen Bay. He then fled to Maine.
When asked later if she struggled, he responded “She tried, wasn’t much of a struggle, she was little.” The autopsy later showed that she was not pregnant.
The community service thing did not exactly work out. Ferdinand now faces up to 25 years to life behind bars.

Increasingly so many in the USA are illiterate, stupid, violent and ethics-free. Another straw in the winds of change.
The issue is not that abortions will always be legal. That ship has sailed. The baby killers will never give up their bloodlust.
The real issue is that the government will be forcing people to have abortions. Just the same as China. That is the ultimate goal of the liberals. Abortion will not be a choice. It will be mandatory.
For certain groups who are not in protected classes.
Teji,
In medical terms, you are what we doctors call “wrong.”
Only abortion-on-demand proponents use this terminology, hoping the seeming objectivity and banality of “science” can help them redefine words.
Dr. Pogo. We are all bacterium to start with. I am sure you are aware of that. 🙂
Dr. Pogo, it is a shame you missed that book and fyi, there are many more references of a fetus being called a parasite, but as you are a doctor, how dare I debate with you about it? I would advise you to check the oil in your ‘search engine’. 🙂
Medically, parasites are labelled as such their entire lives, not just for the parasitic stage of their life cycle.
If the fetus is a parasite, then so are you, and every dog and cat and horse and bee and bug. If so, the word becomes meaningless.
Your welcome Teji.
My late father-in-law gave his only daughter birth control at 14 years of age. It was a coin; on one side it said “place against the inside of the left knee” and on the other side it said “place against the inside of the right knee.” Now that was misguided and ignorant. ;D
Dr. Pogo:
Did you get your medical degree from Devry? 🙂
A search of Google Scholar for “fetus is a parasite” yielded only one medical book using that phrase.
“A fetus is a parasite in medical terms and only becomes an infant after birth.”
I am a physician. In medical terms, a fetus is a fetus.
“Fetus” is not found under any list of known parasites.
Teji,
One could easily argue this parasitic behavior continues long after birth; for ACA coverage, perhaps as old as 26 years of age. And then the tables can get turned and the parents become the parasite later in life.
How misguided and ignorant of me to not consider those loving pro-choice people are simply ridding the world of parasites; medically speaking of course. How sweet!
Olly: Thanks for sharing your upbringing. 🙂
Firstly, a crime is a crime and this guy committed the most heinous, ruthless crime and should be punished accordingly. He should have used a condom if he did not want to risk getting her pregnant.
People who claim ‘personhood/ life starts at conception’ are misguided and ignorant in many aspects. They fail to understand that we as humans have to consume life in order to survive. Life is life. It begins in a bacteria form. A fetus is a parasite in medical terms and only becomes an infant after birth.
The so called ‘god fearing rather than god loving people’ who claim personhood and are against pro choice should blame their respective gods who are the worst abortionists ever existed because a miscarriage is nothing but an abortion and these all powerful gods are culpable for these ‘heinous crimes’. The fact of the matter is that pro choice people are not pro abortion but they which includes myself want the women to have the choice when to have a kid so he/she can be raised well and she does not have to get pregnant at 15 to make her child a burden rather than a blessing.
This is the reason, all contraceptives should be readily available starting in the middle schools and also at all pharmacies without prescription. If those who fight for freedom then, this IS the freedom of choice they should fight for.
Would every pregnancy need to be reported to some government agency and women would then be followed up by social workers until birh of the child? I’d love to hear from pro life advocates as to how we as Americans with Constitutional rights (the right to privacy) would handle the task of keeping women pregnant?
Don’t like the law? Work to get it changed. Don’t like abortion? Don’t have one. I hate abortion, but being a rational person I recognize that we won’t ever eradicate all abortion. Also what I’ve never heard in the numerous abortion arguments over the years from conservatives and libertarians is the dichotomy of small government and abortion prohibition. Just how do you anti abortion laws would be enforced and prosecuted? It would take a much bigger government to make sure that women who miscarried naturally didn’t have an abortion. Would we need the Pregnancy Squad, consisting of medical people and law enforcement? What would the penalties for having an abortion be? How would the anti tax folks like having their taxes go up to accommodate rising AFDC costs to run orphanages or foster care?
Realty and real world solutions sometimes escape the ideologues.
Isaac,
I agree with you; I’m confounded by the sentencing guidelines. Is it 25 to life w/o the possibility of parole or out n 7 years or what? Is it a crime to think your killing two instead of just one?
Jude
There used to be a better system when someone had something that wrong with their head. The French used it for a while. Apparently the ‘dog and pony show’ of fifteen to twenty years on death row, a quasi religious ceremony involving thousands across the country, and a hygienically performed intravenous flow of expensive cocktails is the hood worn these days.
That this guy is not offed is a travesty of justice. That his jargon is the chosen jargon of black movie stars, musicians, and other celebrities says much. That he may get out while he is still young enough to do it again is what is most troubling. There were only two penalties for this mess, life without any chance of parole or death by whatever soap opera method being used.
SCOTUS also says some penalties are really taxes, so there’s that history of confabulation and redefining words.
Will they cite the same right to privacy in their determination on the legality of post-term abortions?
The Court cited the “right to privacy” in their determination on the legality of abortion, especially in the 1st trimester.
