Last September, we passed the 23,000,000 mark and today we hit 24,000,000. We have used these moments to give thanks for our many regular readers around the world and give you an idea of the current profile of readers on the blog. We continue to rank in the top legal blogs in the world and I am particularly gladdened by the growing international readership. As always, I want to offer special thanks for our weekend contributors: Mike Appleton, Larry Rafferty, Charlton Stanley, Darren Smith, and Kimberly Dienes. The increasing traffic on the site is gratifying and reaffirms that there are many people looking for mature and civil debate. Even among the top ten sites, I believe that we offer a unique forum of different views and backgrounds in the discussion of law and politics (and a few quirky items).
In the last 30 days, our ten biggest international sources for readers came from
1. United States
2. Canada
3. United Kingdom
4. Australia
5. Germany
6. France
7. India
8. The Netherlands
9. China
10 Mexico
The list has remained unchanged except France moved ahead of India and China has made it into the top ten despite the limitations on Internet access.
The top ten posted in terms of readership in the last 30 days were:
1. TURLEY AGREES TO SERVE AS LEAD COUNSEL FOR HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES IN CONSTITUTIONAL CHALLENGE
2. Why is it Illegal to Feed the Homeless?
3. The Purging of Professor Gruber: ACA Architect Disavowed In The Beltway
4. FSU Shooter Identified As Lawyer And Former Prosecutor Myron May [Updated]
5 HOUSE FILES CHALLENGE OVER THE CHANGES TO THE AFFORDABLE CARE ACT

I am particularly happy to report that the second most popular story this cycle was written by our weekend blogger Lawrence E. Rafferty.
The most frequent commentators in the last 1000 comments were:

Karen S
Thank you to all of our regular commentators. We remain an extraordinarily broad and diverse body of commenters from different parts of the world and different political and social backgrounds. Thanks again.
Nice to see.
To augment KarenS’s remark…I am very grateful for the weekend contributors, including their comments during the week. I may not agree with many of them, but I am always impressed by their choice of topic on weekends. That, and none of them sling ad hominems…e.g., we can disagree amicably. Fact is, now and then I learn something or discover something I’ve not considered…either way, it a beneficial experience. So thanks to Professor Turley AND his group of “guest” contributors. See, I come here to learn as much as run off at the mouth (that is an understatement for me 🙂 )…actually more the former than the latter, and so far, from most commenters, I have not been disappointed. I’ll thank Nick Spinelli, and Michael Haz, for telling me about this site. Even Nick and I disagree now and then…shocka, right? 🙂
I am busy most of my days, with crazy stuff from my old Army job (as a consultant) as well as current issues in my life (like cancer and my kid’s foibles et al), however it is worthwhile to drop in here now and then just to read the remarks of others, even on threads I don’t comment on myself.
As I said earlier, all thanks to Professor Turley and his group of contributors for their time and effort to pose interesting issues, many not covered well by various media. Running a website such as this is very difficult from my perspective…and that is as a former database designer and manager in a US Army office…as well as someone who had to execute actions from simple acquisitions, equipment maintenance, to emergency responses.
I am impressed by the authors here and most of the commenters….you make my days in a way … so thank you.
Congratulations, Professor Turley, and all the guest contributors!
BarkinDog-
Do you know the difference between a dog and a comma?
A dog has claws at the end of its paws. A comma has a pause at the end of its clause.
What Don de Drain said …
Prof. Turley- … I appreciate the time and effort you and your guest bloggers spend hosting this forum. Thank you.
Same here. It is a refreshing place.
I don’t see a righty/lefty thread on this blog. Some of us are considered screwballs and if you examine a screwball it has no thread going in one direction or the other. On the other hand, some of us have four paws and not two hands. It takes four paws to grasp reality. The 8th Day Dog Adventists are a congregation which some of you may be interested in joining. If you have a dog and wish to inquire about it then tell him that you are quitting the Catolic Church or whatever denomination and wish to inquire–that you now have an inquiring mind. Listen your dog’s advice. You wont need to go to a pasture to get fleeced with the rest of the flock. You wont be right wing or left wing or down the middle (middle of the road toad). But. You will be fair and balanced.
If you are from Missouri then you will understand me and know that never the Twain shall meet.
Congratulations Professor! I am new to this blog and am thoroughly enjoying it. So interesting and informative, I look forward to it everyday.
Kudos.
Thanks for the great topics.
Prof. Turley-
I appreciate the time and effort you and your guest bloggers spend hosting this forum. Thank you.
On an unrelated topic, perhaps you or one or your guest bloggers could do a post on the topic of this story:
http://www.globalresearch.ca/new-g20-financial-rules-cyprus-style-bail-ins-to-confiscate-bank-deposits-and-pension-funds/5417351
I am working insane hours right now and just heard about the story from a colleague.
We’re still talking about THIS blog, right? Which one of these anonymous contributors is Ted Cruz or Rand Paul?
It’s wonderful to see the growth in the blog as it is dragged kicking and screaming to the center.
Congratulations Professor and thanks to you and your guest bloggers for providing a forum for civil and balanced debate.
Myself and Max, the only two liberals on the frequent flyer list. Well Max, they haven’t gotten rid of us yet.
Congratulations! I love this blog and look forward to reading it and the comments, which (for the most part) have been mature, intelligent and respectful. A breath of fresh air compared to the drivel on talk shows.
Great! By the way how do you find out who is accessing from where , and what other info you have on the commenters ?
Gee, and I thought I was slowing down. 🙂 Good job all. 🙂
Congrats!
Kudos to you, and to all on this blog that rarely fall into the trap other blogs and sites do of strictly personal attacks. I’m proud to have contributed toward that number and plan to help you get to 25 million soon.
That being “civil debate”. None of the Al Sharpton Burn baby Burn! stuff.
Kudos to our host and contributors! I enjoy reading the posts and the civil exchanges. Thanks Jonathan, continue to fight the good fight!
