TSA Screeners Fired After Allegedly Picking Out Handsome Male Passengers To Grope For Sexual Pleasure

240px-tsa_-_logoTwo Transportation Security Administration screeners at Denver International airport have been fired after investigators found that a male TSA employee would select handsome men that he wanted to fondle as part of a secondary patdown. Before you give the TSA much credit however you may want to read on.

Accordingly to the reports, the unnamed male TSA screener told a female screen that he liked to grope the genitals of male passengers and that he would alert another screener that the man was a female to cause the scanning machine to indicate an anomaly in the genital area. He would then do a secondary screening and grope the passenger. This appears to have occurred roughly a dozen times.

In December 2013, Jamelyn Steenhoek filed a complaint against TSA screeners at the airport saying the frisking she received at the same Denver airport amounted to a sexual assault, particularly the fondling of her breasts. No charges were filed.

Now here is the rub, both literally and figuratively. The TSA was given an anonymous tip of an employee who was groping passengers for sexual pleasure on Nov. 18, 2014. The tip came from another TSA employee. Yet, it took nearly three months for TSA act. It just left this man in a position to sexually assault passengers.

It is also unclear why this is not a crime. There was no basis for fondling the genitals of these passengers but the TSA employee is not named let alone charged. Presumably, a man walking through the airport fondling people would have faced a bit more of a penalty than just being led out of the airport.

  1. Conflating homosexuality between consenting aduts with pedophilia or unwanted touching.

  2. “…the initial classification of homosexuality as a disorder was not itself occasioned by modern scientific studies…
    Exactly.
And that’s why other current ‘disorders,’ including unwanted touching and pedophilia, will soon be renamed as acceptable.
    Why not?
Absent tradition, the gates are opened.

    1. Pogo

What kind of a statement is that about the initial classification of the APA regarding the acting out of Pedophilia?

Really. Inquiring minds want to know. You made fun of the disclaimer in 2013 I put in the works here to show you that it would ALWAYS be illegal because they made an error in their text.

      It will always be illegal.

I am always hearing this tired old argument from the far right. I actually have a friend I argue with but it’s fun because we are friends and he is not agenda ridden or arrogant about it.

No one wants to hurt a child. I certainly can’t say the same for sister brides though. My friend thinks it should be a state issue regarding marriage — I think it is all up in the air. I don’t know. Karen or Sandi Hemming brought it up once but these people aren’t even hurting anyone and with you disdain for psychology, that tells me you have some real dark areas in you “soul” if you will. It just gets old listening to it. Don’t worry – I’m done

My problem with your assessment is that you and Squeeks, seem to think there is something broken in a gay person when they function quite well in every other area and probably would function much better if they could acclimate eventually to the outer world.

People are just people after all, even if people are mentally ill, and Pogo I don’t even know if you believe in mental illness after seeing what you write. Even if they are mentally ill they deserve to be treated like everyone else. When you call people names and label them it is hated, judgement and hypocrisy.

What standard do you think is so great that you live by? All you do is criticize.

  3. Squeeky, your fatuous ‘questions’ don’t deserve a minute of my time.

  4. @Mike Appleton

    Here is a different view:

The removal of homosexuality from the DSM does not conclusively decide the issue of the pathological status of homosexuality,” the authors add. “There is no absolute standard of judging normality or abnormality.” Furthermore, they suggest that there are “four empirical (or at least partially empirical) criteria… commonly used to define behavior patterns as abnormal:”

    statistical infrequency
    personal distress
    maladaptiveness
    deviation from social norms

He then goes on to discuss those four criteria. I didn’t want to post the whole thing here, and there is a link below. But, for example:

    Statistical Infrequency

The percentage of homosexuals in the world’s population is as low as 1 to 3 percent. Stanton and Yarhouse write,

Compare this percentage to the estimated lifetime incidence rates of some other major psychopathological disorders. In comparison, the prevalence of homosexuality is much less frequent than such common disorders as phobias (14.3%) and alcohol abuse and dependence (13.8%), about as frequent as some disorders that are less common, as is the case with panic (1.6%) and schizophrenia (1.5%), and much more frequent than somatization disorders (0.1%)… In comparison to these prevalence rates, homosexuality is not so common as to be eliminated as a possible pathology on frequency alone.

It is a short, but good read:

    https://unhappygay.wordpress.com/arent-you-behind-the-times-with-your-belief-that-homosexuality-is-pathology/

As for the decision to consider gayness a pathology, I think any activity that results in 20% of its devotees getting a horrible disease, can be said to constitute a significant harm. IMHO, suicidal behavior is a good indication that something is wrong. But, judge for yourself whether you think these people have a problem. This is a documentary about gays who seek out the HIV virus. It is not “homophobic”. It is just a fascinating film.

Still name calling. Still dodging the questions. Pogo asked you what you think “perversion is: Here is my question, now for the 5th time.

Sooo, quit running like a fraidy cat and answer the question! Have you forgotten it??? Do I need to cut and paste it again??? Here,

What are you going to do if one day one of your grand daughters brings home little Bobby, the bi-sexual boyfriend??? And he wants her to have anal sex??? And she wants to, to show how much she really loves him??? And, plus, Granny Annie, you always said that men who have sex with other men are just like everybody else??? And that we shouldn’t discriminate!

Are you going to just sit there with a dumb look on your face, or are you going to start in about HIV, and “Don’t you dare let that little SOB do that to you, you’ll get AIDS and die!!!” I am betting you add a new verse to The Leader of the “Pack”:

My granny said, go find someone new!
I had to tell my Bobby, “We’re through!”
He stood there and looked at me. . .
    But I’m scairt of H I V. . .
I’ll never forget what, he was gonna pack!
    Vroooommmm! Vroooommm!

Do you really think nobody notices your evasions??? Sad and pathetic. Now, grow up, and answer the questions. If you have time to call people names over and over again, then you have time to answer the questions!

  6. MikeA, There is indeed a big difference between a pat down and a strip search. Having performed both, and received pat downs, I can attest to that. However, a REAL pat down/frisk is quite intrusive. The vast majority of pat downs conducted by these Barney Fife TSA’s, court security are horseshit and almost useless, unless the subject is carrying an Uzi.

Getting back to you being patted down by female court security. Being a man about town, I am sure you realize the vast difference between men and women in this regard. Men pay GOOD money to get fondled by women in titty bars and brothels. Joe Buck learned a gigolo can starve trying to get paid by women to fondle them. I know many fairly liberated men who will not get therapeutic massages by men. I have them done by both, but I certainly don’t call men who don’t want to be massaged by men homophobes, and some do here. When I changed my GP from a man to a woman the bonus was when it comes time for my annual prostate exam, there is a skinnier finger inserted! I don’t like it. It amazes me that there are many men who love it. But, to each their own.

We have no way of knowing how many abuses there are by TSA. Can we agree that for every report, there are many more unreported abuses by people too embarrassed, busy, confounded, to report them. We KNOW sexual abuse of all type are the most underreported crimes. Finally, I enjoyed this discussion w/ you.

  7. What is lost in the drone of citations is that the initial classification of homosexuality as a disorder was not itself occasioned by modern scientific studies. And even Sigmund Freud changed his views before he died, concluding that it was not a mental disorder. It is true that there was great pressure on the APA to revise its classification. However, the result is in line with the opinions of most professionals on the matter.

It should also be noted Dr. Bayer acknowledges that the classification change was not a purely political matter. In his book he states, “To assert, however, that the decision of December, 1973 represented nothing more than a capitulation in the face of force involves a great distortion. Though it is difficult to determine the precise proportion of psychiatrists who have adopted the nonpathological view, it is clear that the numbers are substantial.” Dr. Bayer’s book was published in 1987. Since that time, the correctness of the APA’s decision is recognized by great majority of psychiatrists, psychologists and psychotherapists.

  8. Pogo, The “serpentine” scene in that classic movie makes me laugh uncontrollably every time I see it. I never understood why those 2 great character actors were never paired in other flicks after that great one.

  9. Happy, Pogo and Squeeky most certainly DO think homosexuality is a perversion. That has been their entire sad argument for hours now. As I said, it’s Leviticus that rules in their worldview. Educated or ignorant, it’s bigotry.

  10. @Pogo

Plus, the pro-gays misrepresent what the APA did way back when. IIRC, somewhere on the net there is an interview that you can listen to, but I don’t recall where, sooo, in the meantime there is this:

Dr. Ronald Bayer, author of the book Homosexuality and American Psychiatry, writes:

The entire process, from the first confrontation organized by gay demonstrators to the referendum demanded by the orthodox psychiatrists, seemed to violate the most basic expectations about how questions of science should be resolved.

Instead of being engaged in sober discussion of data, psychiatrists were swept up in a political controversy. The result was not a conclusion based on an approximation of the scientific truth as dictated by reason, but was instead an action demanded by the ideological temper of the times.

Along these same lines, a recent radio documentary on the subject of homosexuality revealed that the president-elect of the APA in 1973, Dr. John P. Speigel, was a “closeted homosexual with a very particular agenda.”

    https://unhappygay.wordpress.com/the-american-psychological-association-apa/

    So basically, it was tantrums.

  11. LOL, I think the bigots have lost the argument here and in society in general, hence the walk back from Indiana and Arkansas. It’s delusional to think people will accept this raw bigotry as “normal” or acceptable.

  12. Haven’t looked at the comments on this site for awhile, and good thing. The trolling is getting worse and worse. Sad, there use to be substantive debate here, now it’s not even worth perusing.

  13. ” Don’t like it when the tables are turned on you, huh?

I don’t know how I can adequately express the Olympian indifference I have towards your opinion of me.

But I do like to point out the standard lefty tactics you employ in attacking me (and evading a discussion).

Cuz I’m all about dat base.

  14. @Pogo

Yes, I caught her dead to rights on one of the Cake threads. She posted a link from the Baptist Joint Committee or something like that, and claimed that they thought RFRA was unconstitutional, when in fact, the article said just the opposite. I busted her out, and asked her to acknowledge her mistake, but she refused. I brought it up several more times on that thread, but she never would admit that she screwed up. Which, is why she has no real credibility. I keep telling her she is better than that, and asking her to do better, but she will just have none of it.

    Go figure.

  15. Delusion IS a psychological state. Seriously you folks have turned yourselves inside out and upside down and when the dust settles, it’s bigotry.

    1. Inga – the link you sent showed that the DMS did not cite bigotry as any type of sickness. Only the author thought it should be.

  16. “Meets criteria for delusional behavior”. Paul, you don’t seem to read or understand much of anything without getting it wrong.

How hypocritical of you Pogo, you turn yourself inside out to prove homosexuality is abnormal. Don’t like it when the tables are turned on you, huh?

  17. @PaulCS

No, she doesn’t read what she links. She doesn’t even acknowledge that she doesn’t read them when busted. But, there was an interesting blurb at her link, that could describe her own anti-Christian prejudice (or the Main Stream Media’s prejudice against conservatives):

More recently, Sullaway and Dunbar used a prejudice rating scale to assess and describe levels of prejudice.3 They found associations between highly prejudiced people and other indicators of psychopathology. The subtype at the extreme end of their scale is a paranoid/delusional prejudice disorder.

Using the DSM’s structure of diagnostic criteria for delusional disorder,4(p329) I suggest the following subtype:

Prejudice type: A delusion whose theme is that a group of individuals, who share a defining characteristic, in one’s environment have a particular and unusual significance. These delusions are usually of a negative or pejorative nature, but also may be grandiose in content. When these delusions are extreme, the person may act out by attempting to harm, and even murder, members of the despised group(s).

  18. In which Annie promotes the political abuse of psychiatry.
How very Soviet. Stalin loved that method.
A beloved lefty tactic. See: Alinksy:

“RULE 12: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions. (This is cruel, but very effective. Direct, personalized criticism and ridicule works.)”

    Except when it doesn’t.

“People who disagree with me must be insane and in need of meds/therapy/jail. Nothing but mental illness can account for disagreement.

    1. Pogo – considering how many times the DSM has been changed and revised I would not ask a psychologist for directions to a Circle K.

    2. Pogo

I am the one who used the DSM link

I explained clearly why. It was the legal aspect delineating that it will NEVER be legal to screw a child. Is that clear?

I am tired of playing games here. So lets get real. People have been Homosexual forever. They did not Chose to be homosexual in a lot of cases – it chose them as an orientation that is not glandular. Surely you know this as you are a doctor.

You ignored the explanation I gave you when I tried to understand your take on behaviorism several months ago when I studied the DNA molecule and how it’s seen under the quantum microscope by dissolving the RNA for the wave effect and mapping out the behavioral genes.

I had disagreed with you regarding behavior being inherited and therefore I thought it could be changed. The nature vs nurture thing.

Now, so you know I am not stupid and I followed up on the remark, lets carry on. I don’t understand if you really believe that people are perverts if they are gay or you are playing with Inga.

People are not perverts if they are attracted to the same sex and just because our society is stuck in the 2nd Great Awakening Morally Speaking does not mean that intrinsically speaking there is a perversion in this activity. Many Men and Women enjoy anal sex and if they deny this they are lying. This activity has been going on since time immemorial and to deny it is to send someone who wants it somewhere else to get it or to invent elaborate fantasies to gratify themselves which I suppose you don’t consider a perversion (lol)

People have been marrying of the same sex in different cultures for thousands of years. I won’t bore you with links as I know you probably know this and are just having fun right now. You probably consider these cultures heathenish though don’t you? Or, better yet, pagan.

Anyway, in the future… try not to confuse me up with the others as I am definitely my own person okay? If you do I will have to assume you are getting “confused” as I have been on the blog now for 10 months frequently.
