The historical sin of Vanity once again proved a disadvantage to a suspect wanted in the alleged shooting of a Seattle victim.
Seattle Police spotted a vehicle having the fugitive’s last name on a custom vanity plate. The rest came certainly a blow to his pride.
Officers reported the event occurred on Rainier Avenue South where two men began arguing and the thirty nine year old allegedly drew a handgun, shooting the other in the face. The suspect then fled in an SUV before the arrival of officers. The victim remains in critical condition at Harborview Medical Center.
Police believed the suspect was holed out at a residence on South Raymond Street but upon entry they discovered the house was empty. A silver SUV was impounded.
Three days later patrol spotted a vehicle in South Seattle displaying a vanity plate stamped with the suspect’s last name. The vehicle was pulled over and the suspected shooter arrested.

OK Squeaky, I found that name for you: James J. Tyler. But the article below says he is known on the streets as “O.G.”, a slang term that stands for Original Gangster — according to the charging papers, which say he also goes by “Big James”, I believe the vanity plate just said “Tyler”.

My vanity plate only has my university on it.
I just knew there was a good reason not to get my name on my vanity plate. 😉
Once again proving that criminals are stupid! Sounds like the common theme from murder to capture was poor judgement.
No name, no blame.
