Discredited NAACP Official Once Sued Howard University Over Reverse Discrimination

620We previously discussed the bizarre case of Rachel Dolezal, 37, the head of an NAACP chapter accused of lying by her own mother. Worse yet, some have suggested that Rachel Dolezal, who is the head of the NAACP’s chapter in Spokane, planted hate mail at her office. Now it appears that Dolezal once sued Howard University over discriminating against her for being white — before she claimed she was black. If true, it makes a truly bizarre story all the more bizarre.

Dolezal reportedly sued Howard for discrimination in 2002 when she graduated from the historically black college with a Master of Fine Arts degree. She was then known as Rachel Moore and sued Howard and Professor Alfred Smith, chairman of Howard’s Department of Art. The lawsuit is quoted as alleging “discrimination based on race, pregnancy, family responsibilities and gender.” She alleged that she was denied a teaching assistant post and that her application was rejected for a post-graduate instructorship in favor of African-American students. The lawsuit was dismissed by Judge Zoe Bush and Bush’s decision was upheld by the D.C. Court of Appeals. In addition to an order forcing her to pay a “Bill of Costs” of $2,728.50, she was ordered to pay the university nearly $1,000.00 in connection with an “obstructive and vexatious” court filing.

The unfolding background reveals a tragic obsession (and transformation) with race. That obsession would lead to the alleged falsification of information on government forms. It is also unclear whether this controversy will produce criminal charges.

    Now, I wonder if she lied about having cervical cancer, the molestation, and was physically abused by her father. We’ve already discovered that they never lived in South Africa, and so her father never beat her with a baboon whip “like a slave.” As in The Boy Who Cried Wolf, no one believes a liar, even when they are telling the truth. So now her everything she’s said will come under scrutiny to sift fact from fiction.

  14. There are plenty of real hate crimes that occur. To lie about it is a huge disservice to the real victims.

  15. No one has said that Dolezal was a traitor to her race. Rather, they were outraged over the facts that she lied to get ahead. She lied about moving to South Africa and being whipped like a slave by her dad with a baboon whip. She lied that her brother is her son. She allegedly planted her own hate mail. The police said it never went through the post office and only someone with a key to her mailbox could have delivered it. She lied and lied, and now she has made allegations of a child’s sexual assault against her brother. So her lies have created a huge mess that they have to untangle in court. Her well documented history of lying could actually harm the court case, if the allegations were factual.

    To try to claim that it is racist to be outraged at her lies is just so wrong. WHY do we as a society rush to excuse bad behavior?

  16. I just got more information on that mass shooting. These cowards always pick soft targets where they know no one is armed. There were allegedly drugs involved. I’m just waiting for the Trifecta of mental illness to come out, but we’ll have to see. Right now we’re just waiting for more information.

    I found the photo of a church filled with a crowd of all races moving in the face of such an unbelievable tragedy. The story of they mother who was shot, and lay there in the blood of her dead son just killed me.

    There is only one thing that stops a homicidal maniac serial killer – and that is being armed. You can’t plead or reason with them.

    I would like to find out more information. What kind of drugs was he on? Did he have a history of mental illness or behavioral problems? Did his family have a history of racism? It is said he reloaded 5 times. Were some people able to get out?

  17. I think the discussion on the part of some here a way to express outrage and to punish Dolezal for being a ‘race traitor’. The outrage against her isn’t because she deceived the black people she identified with, it’s because she rejected her own whiteness, IMO. That is the ultimate insult to some. She should’ve simply stated “I’m a white woman who identifies and loves black people so much that I wish I were one”, told the truth about her ethnicity and she probably would’ve been allowed to continue to do the work she seemed to be good at and dedicated to for the NAACP and as an ombudsman.

    And the fact that so much outrage has been expressed here all day, but not one mention of the black worshipers in SC being gunned down, is pretty damn sad.

Is it just me, or have the racial purists been tap dancing around the really fundamental question in this case, which is this: “Is this biological honky a disgrace to her race, or is she a disgrace to the race of which she is not racially a member, the colored race, or is she in fact a disgrace and in the faces of both races?

    What also troubles me is what blood of other races might this poseur have coursing through her lying veins? Quite frankly, she looks like a Gypsy to me, and I’ve seen quite a few photos of those socially marginal people, who also happen to lie a lot.

    Has anyone called for her submitting a soupcon of spit, so her DNA can put to bed these thorny questions once and for all? Without her DNA, how can we know for sure whether she’s un-colored or un-white and to what extent?
