The manhunt is over in Massachusetts for the man who shot up the cruiser of a rookie Millis police officer. It appears, according to police, that it was the officer himself. The police have refused to identified the 27-year-old officer but confirmed that the officer was found to be the one who shot up the car and will likely be fired (I would hope so) and face criminal charges.
The hoax led to the closing of the public schools and a massive manhunt. However, investigators eventually took a closer look at the bullets and the bullet holes and focused their attention on the full-time dispatcher and a part-time officer.
The officer claimed that a gunman in a pickup truck shot at the cruiser, caused it to crash and catch fire. The police announced that due to interviews and “as a result of all other evidence, we have determined that the officer’s story was fabricated . . . specifically, that he fired shots into his own cruiser as part of a plan to concoct a story that he was fired upon. The evidence indicates that the shots were not fired by a suspect. And there was no gunman at large in or around the town.’’
The officer has only been with the department for a year and half. The question now is how much of a sentence he will face. He could be charged with a false police report, wanton destruction of public property, criminal hoax, and other charges. That could stack up into some serious time.
What is bizarre is that the ballistics only found bullets from the officer’s own gun. What did he think was going to happen? Clearly the bullets would be tested and run through the Integrated Ballistics Identification System, or IBIS, to see if the weapon was used in other crimes. I simply cannot imagine the rationale. It is not clear if the officer had an accident and was trying to cover it up or whether this was a sad effort at notoriety. Either way, it will now likely cost him both his job and his liberty.
Yes, Kim Davis is a Democrat, in the great southern tradition of Orval Faubus and George Wallace. And Judge David Bunning, son of uber-conservative senator Jim Bunning, was appointed by none other than George W. Such confusing times for the small simple minds of right wingers. Supremacy Clause? What’s that? Fourteenth Amendment? What?
As for the cop who shot up his own car, it seems that a lot of police units around the country did what the army did during the Iraq war and lowered standards significantly because recruiting was low. In fact, I’ll bet a lot of those former soldiers who wouldn’t have made it in prior to the Bush administration, went on to become cops and shoot up their squad cars and stuff.
As far as the cop who shot up the car…. watch it and/or go back to sleep.
However Nick, I am confused on one thing, though, back in 2004…
Trump in ’04: ‘I probably identify more as Democrat’
http://www.cnn.com/2015/07/21/politics/donald-trump-election-democrat/
Has now doubled his popularity with registered Republicans from just months ago…
… And he’s not backing Kim Davis’ silly notions that gawd’s sharia laws should prevail.
Great sleuthing Nick…

Oh, and Nick… Look who else is showing up at this secret Democratic Party gathering for Kim Davis this next Tuesday besides the above mentioned…
Max-1
“Or, OR maybe the Huckster is a secret Democrat. Yea! Huck is a Dem.”
= = =
AND Rick Santorum AND Tony Perkins… secret democrats?
Don’t forget that NOM supports Kim Davis along with the FRC’s support.
Yep. It’s a Democratic Party conspiracy. That’s gotta be it!
Thanks Nick, I’m glad we got the mystery solved.
THIS is such a lovely story. I love how the media, military on the ground and in the air, WITNESSES are READY for this one. It could have been SO good….If only…
A credible witness SEES very clearly a maroon truck moving at shocking speeds with the officer in hot pursuit!!! Oh how exciting…. and the two girls from the school? They saw very CLEARLY OMG! a maroon truck circling the school, scoping out the windows…a man “in his thirties with dark facial hair”. But then WHOOOPSY there folks. It was all a big fat RUSE that was somehow thwarted probably by some “unfortunate” person who just happened to catch the officer shooting up his own car. One can only speculate why this elaborate made for TV event was suddenly canceled. Any alarms going off yet? Or still watching CNN to get your “news”.
Attempted Boston Hoax 100% Exposed!

You keep harping on Kim Davis being a Democrat…
… Yet GOP wanna-be Huckabee is a steadfast supporter.
As you said, cross currents… Odd, no?
I’d say, the currents aren’t as crossed as you made them out to be. Maybe Kim’s a secret Republican who’s hired a steadfast Republican lawyer, Matt Staver and Liberty Council to represent her case? Or, OR maybe the Huckster is a secret Democrat. Yea! Huck is a Dem.
Kim Davis isn’t being jailed because she can’t practice her faith…
… She’s in jail because she’s trying to get the State to force other people to practice her faith.
Max-1 wrote: “Kim Davis isn’t being jailed because she can’t practice her faith…

Actually, she is in jail because she does not want to practice the faith of the federal government’s Supreme Court when her Constitution says they have ruled outside of their jurisdictional powers. When her State tells her to comply, she will or she will resign.
That is about as ignorant a statement i have seen davidm make in a long time. So when the SCOTUS ruled segregation was illegal, Eisenhower should not have used US troops to enforce that order from a Federal Court in Arkansas? The supremacy clause trumps states rights when a Federal court makes its ruling. While I disagree on the legal reasoning of the SCOTUS decision, I certainly do not agree that any state or person is free to spit on their rulings. I hope she rots in jail and dies if she is so adamant about it.
randyjet –
This is exactly how I felt about Ethel Rosenberg.
“I hope she rots in jail and dies if she is so adamant about it.” Spoken like a true pacifist. Scratch the surface a little and there you have it, the thirst for BLOOD.
Thank you hildy for showing how ignorant the right wing is. I am most certainly not a pacifist of any kind, and I am a Vietnam era veteran as well.
Sorry about that. I mistook you for a left leaning self proclaimed “pacifist”; some of the most dangerous people on the planet.
randyjet, you are mixing apples and oranges here. The action of Eisenhower was against the governor bringing in the National Guard. It has always been argued that segregation is immoral, not the other way around. Forcing desegregation of public schools is not forcing States to approve of immoral behavior. It is treating citizens as equals. Brown v. Board of Education saying that separate educational facilities are inherently unequal is rational. Notably, the decision in Brown was unanimous. In Obergefell, we have unequal representation by unelected officials whose vote was split sharply. That is because the Court went contrary to the moral high ground and attempted to justify immoral behavior through creating new law in regards to marriage and homosexuality. The court in Obergefell overstepped their authority. Time to reign them in and put a check on their powers.
Wow, Palsey..profound. DUH. But, what Bunning did was stupid and heavy handed. He played right into the martyr trap. Being as conservative as he is, I wonder if Bunning didn’t play into the martyr game on purpose? I am a professional skeptic and always a critical thinker. It is rare that a person is incarcerated for civil contempt. Lots of cross currents, riptides and strangeness.
I wonder if he’ll be charged with attempted murder of a police car?
Just think of what this guy could have done if he had had an armed drone!
Nick: He doesn’t need to believe in gay marriage. He only needs to believe in the law.
One more thing… Davis is an elected official. MLK was not. Davis is more like Wallace in that she is refusing to uphold the law of the land. If she wants to act on her personal religious beliefs, then she can resign her office and take her place among the protesters.
I
She is only too pleased with herself, but if her stunt has achieved anything it’s to clarify in the public’s mind the difference between narrow-minded theocratic despotism and true liberty. Barry Goldwater would have her locked up and throw away the key – that’s a fact. This woman has greater solidarity with the Taliban than the Founding Fathers.
Davis is awesome…the rainbow flag is satanic. pure and simple baby!
I just read an interesting piece on Judge Bunning in WashPo. He does not believe in gay marriage.
One more thing… Wallace was powerful politician. Davis is not. She is more like Martin Luther King Jr. being thrown into a Birmingham jail by the authorities in the name of the law!
Interesting cross currents. As stated previously, Kim Davis is a Democrat. Judge David Bunning who locked her up is a Republican. He is the son of former US Senator and Hall of Fame pitcher, Jim Bunning, one of the most conservative Senators to serve back during his tenure.
Kim Davis is white trash and reveling in all the attention she’s being given. She’s found the low-life’s perfect ticket to fifteen minutes of fame by declaring her bigotry on the world’s stage. She’ll become a celebrity for wrapping her prejudice up in a claim for religious freedom.
Ultimately, she earns five yawns: boring.
Religion has jumped the shark. We need to put a stop to this poison.
I think Davis needs to quit her job if she can’t follow the law, or provide an alternative method to her signing off on the marriage licenses for the perverts. While she is the “clerk”, the “office” is separate entity from her as an individual person.
HOWEVER, that same principle also holds true for all the Sanctuary City a-holes, who should also be jailed for contempt.
