Massachusetts attorney Karen J. Andrade, 51, may be an example of the over-use of social media. Southampton police say that Andrade had thae standard lawyer links like LinkedIn but also links as “Rose,” a prostitute. Andrade, who was suspended from practice in 2014, is accused of running a escort business out of her home.
Andrade specializes in child custody but was placed under administrative suspension by the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers on Jan. 21, 2014. She was then accused of failing to respond to board inquiries.
Neighbors complained that middle aged men were frequenting the house and police questioned Andrade and showed her the advertisements as an escort. However, those advertisements did not use her real name but did use her telephone and other identifying information. Police say that they found text messages arranging meetings with male clients as well as sexual items in her home. One man found at the home reportedly admitted to paying $150 for sexual favors.
This is not the first lawyer to be accused of working as a call girl or prostitute.
Andrade’s LinkedIn entry includes a background as a “Hynpotherapist”:

Assuming Andrade is convicted, the question is whether her position as an attorney (even a suspended attorney) would be considered as an aggravating factor. Attorneys are officers of the court and held to a higher standard. However, would it be far to increase punishment based on her “other” identity as an attorney?
She was released on her own personal recognizance.
I’m curious as to why she was suspended from practicing law in 2014. Does anyone know? There’s a joke in here, somewhere–something about old lawyers throwing in their briefs. Yeah, I think I’ll spare you.
“There’s a joke in here, somewhere–something about old lawyers throwing in their briefs. ”
So, is this an example of under employment in the legal profession?
I do wonder what her specialty is. Maybe an Abraham Lincoln[Amy Schumer reference].
I’m a little surprised she can compete in that field at 51, so she must have some talent.
So we’re going to ruin this woman’s life to “save her” in the belief a 51 year old lawyer doesn’t understand what she was getting herself into? Ridiculous.
No, she should not receive an enhanced sentence for being an attorney. This should not be a crime. Hell, she’s 51 and getting paid for it!! She should be honored.
I would have more of an issue with money from lawyers going to political funds.
It should be legal.
A girl has to make a living…she is covering all the bases with her services.
Maybe there is something to her conflict resolution skills. Might be more efficient and effective and less expensive than a mediator or arbitrator!
Considering the current Sex in the City lifestyle shouldn’t whore houses be at least as obsolete today as Playboy centerfolds? It seems like such a business today would appeal only to the lowest of low lifes who are considered unappealing to the larger community. No wonder neighbors were concerned.
As the libertarians say, it’s sex and free enterprise, which one of the two are you opposed to. Please, some one prove to me that a prohibition on the trade of money for sex has an overall detrimental affect to our society.
I think it is that the wealthy who can most afford prostitution want to prohibit them for hanging out at the various public places they frequent, in front of their wives. It’s obviously in the publics best interests to keep the women separated. lol Remember that almost all social policy is really created to benefit special interest at the expense of everyone else.
Hmmm, this really is a full service law firm.
Unless the accused crime compromised or was aggravated by her office I don’t believe an enhanced sentence is reasonable. If not related to her employment as a government official, an enhanced sentence or a reduced sentence would be tantamount to punishing or nor not due to her socio-economic status.
We have to provide equal treatment under the law with regard to criminal sanctions.

It already is… It’s called being a politician.
Oh please, just make it legal already.
I’m sure neighbors complained of “middle aged men” . seriously??? So if i complain to my cops my neighbor has a bunch of old men who drop by …..can the cops drag net hi til they find something?
Moonlighting with her “moon”!
Moonlighting.
A lawyer…… a whore‽ Who’d have thunk it….‽ Oh, never mind….
If convicted, her sentence should have nothing to do with her being a *suspended* attorney.
However, if she is convicted what her bar does with that information is up to her colleagues.
But really, 99% of lawyers are wh*res, so it seems pretty hypocritical.
