Trump’s Test: Here Is The Montreal Cognitive Assessment

donald_trump_president-elect_portrait_croppedPresident Donald Trump made a reference in an interview yesterday about his “highest score” on his cognitive testing.  He told Reuters that former Presidents Obama, George W. Bush and Clinton failed to deal with North Korea and added “I guess they all realized they were going to have to leave it to a president that scored the highest on tests.” Trump is referring to the fact that he is the first president to agree to a cognitive test (which was a good idea and he received a perfect score). For many of us who are unfamiliar with the test, I looked into it.  The test is elementary but it does have a high accuracy in detecting problems like dementia.  However, for those not familiar with the  Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA), the test details are below.

The 30-point test asks people to identify drawings of a lion and a rhinoceros or draw a simple cube.  The subject may also be asked to recall a handful of words or repeat a short list of numbers.  This is not an intelligence or psychological test.

Image: Moca TestNevertheless, the Cochrane Collaboration review found that the test detected 94 percent of people with dementia.

I actually do not see why all presidents should not have basic cognitive and psychological testing with their physical exams.  This test does not offer much information beyond counter-indicating such things as dementia. However, even this is much more than what was available for prior presidents.

  1. That is why they waste their time and money testing people that do not need testing. Then they score the HMO for how well they are doing and that testing improves their score. It is a good advertising gimmick. However, when the person has an expensive disease that is somewhat hidden they aren’t as careful in figuring out what they can do and that saves them money. Remember, dead people don’t incur costs.

  2. Was Hillary completing her MoCA while leaning against the post waiting for her limo when she proceeded to fall on her face off the curb? Talk about having a fit; I mean being fit for office. And how about Barry Soetoro, an Indonesian citizen according to the high school application he submitted? He is 56 years of age and the only thing he has ever accomplished is accepting ensconcement in Oval Office by the “deep state” and K Street.

    1. She had pneumonia and was dehydrated. She briefly lost consciousness. [Have you ever seen anyone faint? It’s quite common]. A MoCA is a basic screening tool for dementia.

The evaluation that Trump needed was one by a psychiatrist with emphasis on evaluating delusional disorder and Axis 2 pathology. But they didn’t do the one test that really mattered.

      1. He doesn’t seem delusional and if the doctor thought he was he would have referred him to a psychiatrist. It doesn’t make a difference what proof Trump presents. He will always be guilty in your eyes so my advice to him would be not to worry about it for even with known breaches of the law and security they will find Hillary absolutely innocent while finding Trump guilty no matter what level of proof of innocence he has.

Such are the delusions of the left.

      2. Oh my. The poor thing. I have never seen President Donald J. Trump faint. Rally after rally, all day long. I’ve never seen President Donald J. Trump faint. You don’t suppose that stamina had anything to do with his victory and Hillary’s yuuuuuuge loss, do you? Thank God for the artifice of “Affirmative Action Privilege” so women can compete, huh? What kind of “disorder” does it take to defeat twenty professional opponents in an American presidential election having absolutely no political experience? From this perspective, the only thing President Donald J. Trump needs is a champagne victory toast. Congratulations, President Trump. I hope this doesn’t set off any TDS in you.

  3. “I guess they all realized they were going to have to leave it to a president that scored the highest on tests.” This type of hubris is typical of Trump, but I always groan. On the one hand, I have been surprised and pleased with the amount he has accomplished, and the positive results, but on the other, I always groan when he inevitably boasts about being the best. He does love to brag. I never expected him to change. One does not change one’s personality the moment one steps on the White House threshold.

It is true that we have never conducted cognitive tests for presidents in the past. However, we are facing a plague of Alzheimer’s. It is wise to include cognitive tests for all future presidents.

It is also true that the only reason why President Trump got a cognitive test is because political dissidents will not accept the legal results of our election and have repeatedly attempt a soft coup. They have thrown one accusation after another, and when it doesn’t stick, there is not a moment’s hesitation in throwing another. Now it’s on to mental instability. Or heart disease. We have even seen the politicization of the medical profession, with violations of the Goldwater Rule, or medical ethics in general. I fondly recall when Democrats were outraged that Trump and his supporters might not accept the results of the election. I wonder if they do. Perhaps they need to take the Montreal Cognitive Assessment.

He’s a braggart. He was during his campaign, and he will be during his term. That is not a mental illness.

    1. Karen S, I groan too, until I realize he does it just to troll the haters. 🙂

      1. He does love stirring the pot.

Oh, how I wish he would get a communications staff layer between him and his Tweets.

I have been reading how the President of Hungary makes Trump look mild mannered, he is so adamant about stemming the tide of migration violence at the border. I recall how the US in general, and Trump in particular, were called xenophobic and racist and anti-Christian for showing concerns that importing mass swaths of migrants from regions known for human rights abuses, violence against women and gays, anti-Semitism, and support for terrorism, would import those problems. “If you take masses of non-registered immigrants from the Middle East into your country, you are importing terrorism, crime, anti-Semitism, and homophobia,” he said in a follow up interview this week.
Orban also made reference to the mass sexual assaults on New Years’ Eve 2015 in Cologne, Germany, as well as other problems attributed to the wave of migration from Africa and the Middle East.
“[In Hungary] there are no ghettos and no no-go areas, no scenes like New Year’s Eve in Cologne. The images from Cologne have deeply moved us Hungarians,” he said. “I have four daughters. I can not help my children grow up in a world where something like Cologne can happen.” Now, this is a tactless, not very diplomatic way of describing a massive turn in public opinion throughout Europe. The results of massive migration have been negative.

Now the tide has firmly turned in Europe. Massive migration, without a merit system, imported abusers along with victims, and Europe paid the price in failing to winnow out the former. Rejection of the effects fueled Brexit, Merkel is now holding on by her fingernails, and Hungary, Poland, and the Czech Republic have adamantly refused to sink along with them. The problem with the EU is that the organization can demand its member countries enact anti-free speech laws, and force them to take massive numbers of migrants from extremist countries. No wonder it’s fraying at the seams. Who would want to give up sovereignty in such a way? Remember when the Left were ecstatic when Macron took France? Macron is taking a tougher stance on immigration.

When you work to stabilize a region, and only allow the Malala Yousafzai’s to immigrate, you preserve a heterogenous society working together with Western values. We are not Balkanized, but Westerners who look different, and dress different, but we are one people. When you import huge amounts of people from extremist areas, you bring in the Taliban who shot her who, amazingly, do not behave themselves merely because they set foot in Europe.

Personally, I believe that a merit-based system should not be about education or skills, necessarily, but rather about willingness to embrace Western values. Poets, political dissidents agitating for democracy, anti-extremists, and people who just want to work hard and don’t hate anyone have money in the bank of meritocracy. I also think that immigration should always be balanced with housing, unemployment, and benefits systems. During periods of high unemployment, obviously we should not keep importing large numbers of competing workers driving wages down and competing for dwindling jobs. Same thing for housing shortages. When we have room and jobs, we can welcome more. When we don’t, we welcome less. That’s just part of running a country.

        http://www.foxnews.com/world/2018/01/17/european-leaders-facing-growing-public-unease-toughen-up-on-immigration.html

        1. I think merit and suitability include all those things you mention. Merit could be a farmhand or even a strong back willing to work based on the needs of the nation. Our fertility rate is such that we need immigration with assimilation based on America’s needs and not the needs of a political party.

    2. Trump is a bit eccentric and over a lifespan has developed a way of managing problems. We can’t pick and choose his behavior because that would change the man and he has already proven himself to be a great leader. The only thing we can do is groan silently when something bothers us, but then again some of those things ended up to move things forward.

      Go, Trump.

      1. True. I have been pleasantly surprised at Trump’s first year in office. I did not predict he would do so well. I think he deserves more credit.

I am also not surprised when he still behaves as he always has in his manner and remarks. That’s Trump.

I also will be looking at Ivanka’s future career with great interest.

        1. I am ecstatic over what he has accomplished in his first year. If people would just open their eyes and look around, they would realize that whether they hate him or not, he has been good for us. Ask 600,000 WalMart employees who are now making $2 more per hour. Are they part of Linda’s “oligarchy”? Ask anyone to look at their 401(k) plans – are they all in her “1%”?
I will never understand people who would rather see their country suffer and fail just because of party loyalty.

          1. I agree. However, the GOP has concisely failed at communication. The right and moderates have allowed the far Left to define them for so many years that the memes stuck.

If the right fails to explain to the other half of the nation what has improved, how it has improved, and what has been accomplished, then all the Left will think about come election time is that the other half of the country is evil, racist, etc, and that they need to vote Left to save the world. They’ll throw the lowest unemployment rate for minorities down the toilet without ever realizing.

I am a fiscal conservative, and a moderate. We have failed to communicate what we stand for, and how we can help our country and her people. How do we reach the Linda’s of the US? I have never changed anyone’s mind about anything on any blog or FB post, so I have absolutely no idea. How do you combat conditioning from pre-K to grad school, and the entire mainstream media? If people like Linda had no idea that North Korea has been threatening to kill us all for years, and that it’s not actually Trump causing it, how do we get them interested in researching topics for themselves?

This is a problem that must be solved, else we end up like Venezuela starving in the hedgerows and fighting over toilet paper.

            1. Oh, and Linda, I am not trying to single you out. I only used your name as an example of someone who disagrees with me, whom I do not know how to get interested in seeing other sides of the issue. Opening a two way discussion where each tries to understand the other’s position. We need to hear all sides of the issue on the blog, and your input is welcome.

            2. Critical thinking and logic have not been adequately taught so quite a few people can read the news without understanding its failures. We have a lot of those people on this list and one can see that they aren’t even able to engage in an intelligent debate. 90% of the news is unfavorable to Trump even as the economy does fantastically well. In the past when a Democrat was President we would hear about unemployment, the GDP, the stock market and other indicators of a growing economy on the front pages of the news, but what we hear today is nothing but garbage.

              1. Allan and Karen S – this is precisely why he tweets. Note that they are often announcements of some improvement in the economy, or another accomplishment. He has to do this because, as you say, the GOP doesn’t seem to know how to communicate to the country, and even if they did, the MSM will block it.

                1. Absolutely! He also uses tweets for the MSM to focus on while he is doing things that they might otherwise get wind of. …And remember some of the tweets that garnered the most negative attention turned out to be true and that enhances the appearance of wisdom.

        2. Oh, how I wish he would get a communications staff layer between him and his Tweets.

I have been pleasantly surprised at Trump’s first year in office. I did not predict he would do so well. I think he deserves more credit.

          Karen,
You really need to make up your mind. In one sense you wish he weren’t what he is and in another you like the results. The progressive trap is to convince people a credentialed and articulate stuffed shirt makes for a good President. If the President satisfies those means, then the ends are not to be questioned. Trump is a paradigm shift in American politics that most people will not accept. Oh, they’ll accept the results but dismiss the notion he should be given any credit for it. After all, he doesn’t fit the mold.

          1. Let me clarify. I think he has done a good job. He has some qualities that I do not like, but I accept that he is an entire package that has been good, overall. Look at the state that Merkel finds herself in, and she was petted and feted as the diplomatic savior of the world. I’d rather have a rude person with better results.

I try my best to judge each action on its merits. I think that sometimes his Tweets and other comments create more problems. I think sometimes he connects well with the people, and he’s been tough when he needs to be, at times. He is what he is. I don’t want to be like some Obama or Hillary supporters were in the past, incapable of believing they could ever do anything wrong.

I want to be fair, and I want the center and right to be more effective in their communications. Disseminating information on the benefits of policy has been a weak point for decades. Therefore, Trump’s communication missteps are on my radar. I think that they need to approach communications as a marketing strategy, judging and adapting based on effectiveness and results. I also acknowledge that he, and all other non-Democrats, are held to a double standard.

  4. The most important test is this: “He told Reuters that former Presidents Obama, George W. Bush and Clinton failed to deal with North Korea and added “I guess they all realized they were going to have to leave it to a president that scored the highest on tests.”

Any rational person would say that bringing the world to the brink of nuclear war is defacto a failure ( ie: just like JFK). Trump is an imperialist war monger just like the other idiots he claims to best intellectually. They all agree that the US has every right to engage in warfare anywhere it wishes in the world. Each person has engaged in this warfare and each person has been willing to use nukes or nuke equivalent weapons.

A foreign policy based on attacking other nations at will for “humanitarian” reasons (of course) while ignoring these very same or worse humanitarian crimes taking place in nations with whom we ally (not to mention our own nation) is a nation run by people who are evil and failures.

As of right now our good friend Saudi Arabia has hired Blackwater to torture their own people. They have helped SA starve the people of Yemen. Children are dying hideous death’s there everyday. In Syria, we have proclaimed the right to invade with the hope of removing Assad and getting our own evil stooge in place. To do this we have allied with ISIS, something which is illegal under our own terrorism “laws”. We have made so many sh&^Tholes all over the world. USGinc. has brought whole societies to ruin. War is very good to oligarchs and they just can’t have enough of it. Not one of the braintrusters in the presidency has tried to stop the slaughter. They all continue the policies they are told to continue on behalf of their masters.

We don’t need a presidential mental test, we need the rule of law. We need citizens who want justice and will stand up for it.

    1. One could make a case that previous years of trying “negotiating” with North Korea while it continued to build its arsenal was the mistake. North Korea didn’t get to where it was in the last year.
As for JFK. I remember that day because we also felt on the brink of a terrible end but it took a President to stand up and push back to stop it. I guess you would have set back and given Hitler the keys to America and let Japan take the rest of the world. It’s easy to criticize policies but most of the people who do have no solutions. Standing for justice and the rule of law are nice concepts and important but they will not keep the next sirens that go off in Hawaii because of a real missle from North Korea happening.

      1. Gabby, your critique of Jill was right on target. Jill should think about WW2. Hitler invaded many different areas before WW2 actually started. He appeared to be unbeatable, but one has to recall that these battles were against unprepared people and perhaps people that were unwilling to fight.

Would Hitler and his generals have gone to war if he knew that the Russia, Britain, France and the US would all end up fighting him? No! Look at the resources available. Manpower, production capability etc. To enter such a known war would only mean defeat. So, how did that war ever get started? Hitler was a bit crazy, but not crazy enough. The powers that should have resisted Hitler stayed silent while he went on his rampage and then the war got out of hand with a leader who became progressively crazier.

Who or what was the cause of that war? Jill’s type of thinking.

      2. Gabby – JFK secretly traded the Soviet missiles for American missiles on the Turkish border. We were not told about that.

    2. Jill:

“Any rational person would say that bringing the world to the brink of nuclear war is defacto a failure.” I find it frustrating that so many people seem unaware that North Korea has threatened nuclear war with the US for decades. They have been saying they are going to develop nukes for so many years, that it has actually been a unifying position between Democrats and Republicans. Over 10 years ago, it was predicted that North Korea would start WWIII.

Why do you, and so many others, not know this? Even 20 years ago, the US was gravely concerned about North Korea.

Why do you think the US sanctioned North Korea in July 2016? North Korea proclaimed to the world that this was a declaration of war.

South Korea pulled out of Kaesong, a cooperative North/South area. North Korea called it a declaration of war.

2013 – North Korea did a nuclear test. The UN voted for sanctions, and North Korea threatened to nuke the United States.

North Korea has announced a declaration of war so many times, that comics joke about it: https://www.theonion.com/kim-jong-il-interprets-sunrise-as-act-of-war-1819568774

      But it’s not funny.

Why do you think that so many Democrats and Republicans have been sincerely worried that the US has been unable to stop North Korea’s nuclear ambitions? Because North Korea has repeatedly threatened to nuke the United States for many years.

Nothing that we have done has worked. Their nuclear program has continued. Now they are a matter of months away from developing a nuclear warhead.

This is the a topic to make political hay. This has been a problem that we have failed to solve since the Korean War. We had better pull together on a solution. If anyone thinks that appearing submissive will appease Kim Jong Un, and keep him from nuking us when his program completes, they are fools. They have threatened to annihilate us through many presidents. You cannot polite your way out of this.

I do not know if I could ever pull that trigger on a nuclear weapon, even if we were attacked. I think I would hesitate. Kim Jong Un may believe that Trump would absolutely wipe his country off the face of the map if he attacked us. Hopefully Kim Jong Un is not suicidal. We do know that merely sanctioning North Korea for human rights abuses has been enough in the past for him to threaten to nuke us and kill us all. So, is the solution to not ever say a word or even sanction this monster in perpetuity, and hope he will never destroy us? He is a man who orders women in biracial relationships to be captured and forced to have abortions. Doesn’t sound like someone whose morals and ethics I would bet anyone’s life on.

God help us all when a martyr gets nuclear weapons.

North Korea has threatened to destroy us for many years. Perhaps it is time to take them seriously and do something about it, before we are looking at a nuclear crater and wishing we’d prevented it. Regret is not a time travel machine.

In the meantime, I hope we can destroy his nuclear ambitions. Perhaps we could carpet the country in leaflets, and convince his own people to depose him and embrace democracy and South Korea. We would once again be meddling in foreign affairs. I hope Hawaii and the entire West coast get some sort of disaster planning in place, because we are leaving it a bit late. It’s not like anything will help if you are close to the blast zone. You’d be vaporized. But we should have a plan in place for a nuclear emergency. I still remember nuclear war warnings and movies from when we were in the Cold War. I am furious that we are still not out of danger.

So take away the danger. North Korea is dangerous.

A unified, democratic Korea would be far better for everyone involved, especially the poor little kids starving to death in the street while the government ruling class act as lords of a feudal system.

      1. I bought a 1950’s school desk so I have something to hide under. It was tried and tested. No one died from a nuclear explosion while hiding under their desks. 🙂

              1. Allan – not to be harsh, but the inkwell is in the top of the desk. 🙂 Right corner.

      2. Karen,

The US committed massive war crimes and destroyed the N. Korean nation. We only see history the way the US writes it. That is why there is so much misinformation about our actions during all the wars, (including WWII where our corporations were Nazi collaborators with the full knowledge of USGinc).

No nation should have nukes and there is a path to disarmament that every nation can take if they have the will. Instead we just finished making two new kinds of nukes. The US along with every other nuclear nation can choose mutual disarmament. We do not do this because we want to be the good guys and save the planet. We don’t participate in this process of disarmament because we want world dominance. That’s not my opinion, that’s what this govt. has said and acted on again and again.

I have difficulty that good people like yourself don’t see the USG for what it is–a world bully which has created one humanitarian disaster after another. We are the world’s arm’s dealer. We are the lord of war. We do not support justice and freedom. We create chaos and destruction of our own people’s rights and the rights of others to even live on this earth. We can’t keep the blinders on any longer. This is not a humanitarian, caring govt. Look at our “allies”. Look at the govt.’s actions against our people. That’s the real truth and as difficult as it may be to face that truth, we must do so.

          1. Jill, what do you mean we never see this information? If you go to the source and listen to what the individual was saying (Curtis Le May) you will find it was the Jills of the world that chose the path that might have been avoided and saved countless of lives.

Blame the horror that occurred on your ideas!

        1. Jill, it is true that the US has made many blunders, but the world is a much better place with the US than without. Look at history and take note that no superpower has ever been as humane as the US. T

Since not everyone is nice or honest what you are advocating is taking a butter knife to a gun fight. RIP Jill.

        2. Jill,..
You might want to read up on the history of the Korean War.
It was triggered by a massive invasion of Soviet-supplied North Korean troops, and they almost succeeded in complely overrunning South Korea.
At that point, Truman had a choice….commit troops to keep South Korea from falling, or watch North Korea swallow up the entire Korean penisula.
Had Truman not intervened, the 50 million South Koreans would have Kim il Jung as their leader.
Who followed the the two previous thugs of the Kim dynasty.
In any evaluation of “was it worth the cost”, consider the prosperous democracy in South Korea v. the nightmare under the Kims’ regimes in the North.
It’s possible that total capitulation to the North Korean regime in 1950 would have resulted in fewer causualties…..I doubt it, but it’s a debatable point.
What is less debatable is that nations are often willing to pay a very high cost, rather than be swallowed up by an adversary.

  5. The test designer does not even know how to draw a 3D cube….they left out important 2 important cues:
apparent shrinkage at the rear due to depth, and occlusion of a line by one that cuts in front of it.
I would rate the test designer’s drawing skill as lazy/undeveloped.

The “draw a clock” test is unspecific whether a digital clock is OK, yet I see the grading rubric assumes the instruction has to be interpreted as an analog clockface. The test designer shows poor language clarity, or the test is 60 year old hasn’t been kept up to date.

    1. The test designer does not even know how to draw a 3D cube…The “draw a clock” test is unspecific whether a digital clock is OK, yet I see the grading rubric assumes the instruction has to be interpreted as an analog

Fail! Damn you progressives are insufferable. First you’re given a perfectly good constitution to follow and then believe you can outsmart those that put it together and human nature by making up your own rules.

This test instructs the examinee to Copy Cube, not correct the image to your personal preference. Secondly, the Draw CLOCK (ten past eleven) will examine his drawing for Contour, Numbers, Hands. How many digital clocks have hands?

      Try again.

      1. I’m a conservative who teaches 21st century spatial math where students write Java software and generate graphics. As far as keeping the Constitution up-to-date, wasn’t it Jefferson that offered that it would need frequent Amendment to keep up with a rapidly-evolving society — he was assuming that a rigorous Ratification process giving legitimacy to an changing Constitution, not mere reinterpretation of verbiage by as few as 5 black-robed eggheads. I think it’s a big mistake to associate proactivity and creativity (the religion of continuous improvement) with progressives….why cede those values? Conservatives’ only blind spot is to cling too tightly to the past…and fail to graft enduring values to new technology and living patterns.

        1. Pbinca, what are you talking about? The Constitution that Jefferson signed had a method of being altered and it wasn’t through the courts. Congress needs to do its job, but maybe too many people don’t want the same change you want. Cultures change a lot slower than Obama’s pen and we now see poorly thought out changes frequently get erased.

        2. I’m a conservative who teaches 21st century spatial math where students write Java software and generate graphics.

Are you promoting your “creative” qualifications as an excuse for not following basic directions? A perfectly good constitution includes the amendment process. Interesting that you would claim to be a conservative and then lament their blind spot, as if you and your ilk will lead them to progress,/b> with our modern but enduring values.

  6. I don’t think that dementia exists in this country. I forget what that word means. Trump does not forget. Bush forgot what human rights is all about. Read the James Risen book on the topic. I forget the title of the book.

  7. More significantly, the truth is that there are a bunch of people in this country who don’t really care about Trump’s mental health, the future of democracy, the decorum of the office, the Constitution, collusion, or the truth. They’re personally insulted by the outcome of the last presidential election, and happy to embrace any story that helps them try to overturn it.

    http://thefederalist.com/2018/01/17/donald-trumps-greatest-gift-enemies/?utm_source=The+Federalist+List&utm_campaign=e6fb8f044f-RSS_The_Federalist_Daily_Updates_w_Transom&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_cfcb868ceb-e6fb8f044f-79248369

  8. Of course President Trump is not fit for office. In the progressive era, President’s are not supposed to respect their constitutional limits. They certainly wouldn’t deregulate or cut taxes. That might encourage businesses to invest, hire workers and move the people away from dependency on government assistance. Before you know it, we might have a generation of Americans that discover pursuing happiness is more fulfilling when they earn their own way. Oh the horror!

  9. Trump has enough “up-scale” street smarts and business experience to be head of a company that he owns and since he isn’t accountable to shareholders, he can afford to try & fail lots of Trumpanies e.g. Vodka.

    1. I agree with the psychiatrist, Dr. Frances, who said he is not mentally impaired, thus is “sane.” But he is nuts.

    2. ” a little unwell”

      Enigma, Eccentric is the word.

That word applied to Churchill as well along with a whole host of great people and minds.

      1. Technically he’s not suffering from dementia, that’s the only thing that hasn’t been ruled out. I was being kind. Still disbelieving his dalliances with porn stars? You must be so proud. Troll on!

        1. “dalliances with porn stars”

Enigma, medically, not technically, the President doesn’t suffer from dementia. A lot of claims have been made about his dalliances they are probably overblown. That is not your affair rather it is the affair of his wife. You are a gossiper who should be concerned with his own behavior rather than someone else’s. Unfortunately, it seems that you get your thrills vicariously by making believe other people are doing things that you wish you could do.

Teddy Roosevelt said: “speak softly and carry a big stick” You apparently lack that big stick.

        2. enigma – JFK bagged a mob bosses’ mistress, Trump bagged a porn star. Which would you rather have? 😉

          1. If we were to compare the entire list of alleged mistresses it would be interesting. I would give Trump the edge (in bad behavior) for all the people he is alleged to have molested harrassed against their will and raped (13-year old). FYI I’d rate Clinton worse than Kennedy but still far better than Trump.

            1. Unfortunately Enigma you compare accusations against Trump which have been proven false to those against Kennedy which have been reasonably proven. But who cares for we already know that you are a slanderer when it comes to people you disagree with.

On another point JFK today would be considered a right winger and a racist by Enigma as well as a Nazi since JFK’s dad dealt with the Nazi’s.

                1. Come on Allan, really!? I thought you were a racist, bigot, or some kind of ist. Maybe you’re a trollist. Man it’s tough keeping these accusations straight.

                    1. That’s one you won’t have to worry about. 😉

In all seriousness, why do adults treat the name-calling like they were in primary school? If someone wants to call you a racist, or a bigot or whatever, that’s on them to prove it based on some acceptable definition. I’m not even sure people know what the various terms mean anymore. It would probably be far easier to just thank them for their attention.

                    2. “why do adults treat the name-calling like…”

Olly, There are two choices, being quiet or responding. Which do you prefer?

                    3. Allan,
I prefer not going on the defensive. They don’t know me so why bother. That gives the accuser power they haven’t earned.

                    4. I wasn’t sure what you meant by the entire quote. I just quoted enough so you would know which posting it came from.

                    1. No, you haven’t called me a racist because it would be hard for me to be one and I am not. But, you use race too much in your thinking process and that is bad because it amplifies racial problems that are really stupid.

                2. I would rather be considered a troll than a racist or a liar, not that I am referring to anyone else in those terms. What I am doing is merely not permitting you to take pot shots at others without proof. That type of action is a type of slander or libel that shouldn’t be permitted to go on unanswered whether it is on this blog, in the news or anywhere else. We shouldn’t be savages so others have to teach you manners. I recommend that others be vocal as well. That it makes you uncomfortable and that you find my actions potentially offensive is good. I have had enough of PC coming from the likes of you who call others racists without adequate proof.

                  1. Amused is not uncomfortable. If those few I’ve called racist don’t want to be considered so, they could stop engaging in racist behavior. Except for poor Fred Trump who missed his chance for redemption, his legacy lives on, however.

                    1. “Amused is not uncomfortable.”

                      Some people are masochistic.

No, you require proof before calling someone a racist. Your actions demean the pain suffered by all those that suffered because of racism.

                    2. I suspect you have little idea of what real racism is, therefore cannot identify it. I also suspect you have not suffered because of it, not personally not systemically. You see it as a horrible thing to be called, the existence of it doesn’t seem to bother you a whit. Refusing to acknowledge racism doesn’t make it disappear. In maintains an environment in which it thrives.

                    3. Enigma,
I’ve read Allan’s posts; what makes you suspect he has little idea of what real racism is, therefore cannot identify it. I also suspect you have not suffered because of it, not personally not systemically.?

                    4. Olly, Enigma never faced real racism. He even got a sports scholarship to a university. He doesn’t understand racism so he uses it as a tool. He thinks he knows what racism is and what the suffering is all about, but that suffering he faced is near zero. He is a fool.

                    5. Enigma, it is clear I don’t use it as a tool, but you do, all the time. Get rid of those colored glasses.

                    6. You have used it as a tool to try to silence me from addressing it. I’ve never called you a racist yet you’ve called me one dozens of times, as a tool.

                    7. I stated how you used race to manipulate the conversation to meet your ideological needs and how you determined one was a racist based on insufficient and errant facts. I don’t say that to many people except when I believe their type of action fuels racism.

                    8. Your belief in your ability to determine which facts are sufficient and errant is unwarranted. You are entitled to believe what you believe… as am I.

                    9. Enigma, You talk about facts. Your primary claim that Donald Trump was a racist was because you claimed his father was a racist. Your proof for that contention was an article in the newspaper that you referred me to. That article from the 1920’s only showed that a bunch of people arrested and given bond. Since there were no charges against Fred Trump he was released as an innocent bystander. But according to you since the Nazi’s were marching he was a racist even though there were loads of people in the street from all sides some of which probably didn’t even know the march was going to take place.

That is the type of evidence you used to call Donald Trump a racist. It’s disgusting because you used racism as a tool because you disagreed politically. You should be ashamed, but it appears that is what your life is all about.

                    10. Why I believe Donald Trump is racist has nothing to do with Fred at all. I(f you would ever stop telling me what I believe, you could start paying attention and find out.
I’ll be on the road all day tomorrow so getting a well-deserved break from your inaccurate trolling.

                    11. “Why I believe Donald Trump is racist has nothing to do with Fred at all.”

Enigma, that is not true. I think that was our first major altercation. I remember you forcing me to read that 1920’s news article which was copied on the newspaper you mentioned. Come on Enigma, don’t start getting forgetful all of a sudden. I know when you actually read what you say you too have trouble swallowing it.

                    12. You seem incapable of holding separate thoughts in your brain. I said Fred Trump was racist, partially because of his history of arrest along with other Klan members who all shared the same representation in a battle against New York police. But primarily because of his policies in housing discrimination including marking applications from black people with a “C” for colored to be sure to reject them.
Donald was President of that company at the time so there is some crossover but he has a whole history of his own since then, including recent remarks about “all Haitians having AIDS” “Nigerians never going back to their huts,” “Take them out!” in reference to Haitians, and wanting reimplementation of Stop & Frisk which in its application has always been racist, and reinstating policies leading to a revival of mass incarceration.

                    13. Enigma continues to write unapologetically: “I said Fred Trump was racist”

Your proof was an article and that article didn’t link Fred Trump with the KKK. The article was from 1927 and the DNC of 1924 three years earlier was known as the Klanbake (KKK). Fred Trump wasn’t charged because there was nothing to charge him with other than he was at the location of a march where others were arrested. The entire elite of the Democratic Party was at the Klanbake DNC convention in 1924..

By your logic, everyone at the DNC convention in 1924 was a racist and perhaps everyone supporting the DNC was a racist. Too many things going on at the time there and with Fred. Your article didn’t mention any racism what so ever even of those that had to pay bail.

When your argument failed you tried a new one also requiring you to use racism as a tool. I explained in great detail why your primary argument there was erroneous and you secondary argument meaningless.

That doesn’t stop you for even now you start quoting what unnamed sources said the President said: “all Haitians having AIDS”. This is just another one of your attempts to use racism as a political tool. We know what unnamed sources mean. Garbage. Once again you are using racism as a tool.

[Further information from very left wing Snopes based on the article and information available:
Fred Trump would have been 21 years old.
“he may have been an innocent bystander, falsely named, or otherwise the victim of mistaken identity during or following a chaotic event”]

With this information, Enigma slanders 21-year-old Fred Trump and his son 90 years later. Is there anyone who can believe that Enigma is not a person that uses race as his primary tool to slander people?

                      You are despicable.

                    14. “black renters with a “C” ”

Enigma, Trump never marked anything with a C so your claim again starts off with a lie.

But, let us not change your claim that Fred Trump as “an innocent bystander” at the age of 21 is a racist and therefore 90 years later Donald Trump is a racist. That was your claim. Your other claims are spurious as well taking considerable knowledge to prove that you are as wrong on those claims as you are on the Fred Trump claim. Even today you called Trump a racist based on unnamed persons that quoted Trump when you well know that unnamed persons have written many libelous things and caused many retractions by the news media.

You are despicable in the manner you attempt to use unproven racism to destroy the people you don’t like.

                    15. Only you claim Fred Trump was an innocent bystander. Donald Trump, lying as always, say’s “he wasn’t there.”

Donald’s history is long and I’ve mostly focused on the last couple weeks. His denials mean nothing as always. $130,000 checks for example are more likely to point to the truth. He wanted five black people executed even after proof of their innocence. That’s your guy!

                    16. “Only you claim Fred Trump was an innocent bystander. ”

I don’t claim anything. I copied a portion of what was said in the left-leaning Snopes.

You are the one claiming 21-year-old Fred Trump is a racist because he may have been at the site of a rally where no one can be positive that he was even there. Then you make the impossible leap that because you believe Fred is a racist that his son Donald 90 years later must be a racist as well.

That is plain stupidity and your way of attempting character assassination against people you don’t like. That incites racism.

                    17. Enigma, “We are certain you failed, “Reading with comprehension””

Your logic here is about as bad as your logic of accusing Donald Trump of racism because his father at age 21, 90 years ago, may have been in the wrong place at the wrong time.

You like character assassination and your weapon of choice is racism.

                    18. “C” for colored! Are you imagining that it didn’t happen? That the manager didn’t admit it? That he didn’t blame Trump 1 and Trump 2? Keep ignoring the racist behavior and they can still be your heroes!

                    19. Enigma, neither Trump nor his father did anything of the sort. That is just one reason the government couldn’t continue with their prosecution. The government had no evidence. But to you, whose logic accuses Donald Trump of racism because his father at age 21, 90 years ago, may have been in the wrong place at the wrong time, you find him guilty of something else that never happened. Even the government admitted that.

Racism is your tool to punish anyone that disagrees with you. That seems to be the entire scope of your political arguments.

                    20. “Here’s your chance to see exactly what I said about Fred Trump”

Not interested. I only care what you said on this blog and all the whining you do about racism when you haven’t been so negatively affected where it meant the loss of life, torture, slavery to someone you loved as an adult who you kissed or otherwise passed affection to that brother or sister to the dead. You are a fraud.

I could add job loss, property loss, arrest, jail time etc., but that left people intact. If one of my kids who likewise loved and kissed some of these people were to whine like you and play the race card like you I would smack them in the face.

                    21. What I say here is totally consistent with what I say elsewhere. It just doesn’t match what you imagine I say. Fortunately, racism doesn’t get to be defined by you! You who know nothing of my experience. You may have the last word, as trolls always do.

                    22. “What I say here is totally consistent with what I say elsewhere.”

Enigma, then what you say elsewhere is nothing than using race as a tool for your ideological ends. But based on how you read Trump’s book makes it suspect as to whether or not you know what you are saying no matter where anything you write is written.

                    23. If anyone knows Allan IRL, please check on him, I think he’s on the verge of a breakdown. Not that he’ll believe it, the Trump organization in the 1970’s was more of a mom & pop than a massive corporation. I never read his books, any of them, because I have no expectation they’d be truthful and he didn’t write them anyway. I have however read these excerpts from the FBI files. The only conclusion any reasonable person could conclude is that Fred Trump was racist. Allan needs that not to be true which is why he’s falling apart before our eyes.

The heavily redacted records of dozens of tenants and employees of Trump Management Company provided an overwhelming amount of information on the matter, however, one statement from a rental supervisor stood out:

“I asked Fred Trump what his policy was regarding minorities and he said it was absolutely against the law to discriminate. At a later time … Fred Trump told me not to rent to blacks. He also wanted me to get rid of the blacks that were in the building by telling them cheap housing was available for them at only $500 down payment, which Trump would offer to pay himself. Trump didn’t tell me where this housing was located.”

He also gave this account after a colleague received a black couple’s application:

“I thought the black couple would be judged acceptable as tenants based on [employment and weekly salary]. However, [redacted] just told me they’re blacks and and that’s that. I believe that [redacted] and others working at the rental office used a code on the top of the front page of the application to distinguish blacks from whites.”

In a separate report from The Washington Post, the government alleged that Trump employees marked minority applicants with codes, such as “No. 9” or “C” for “colored.”

                      Trump Place
A man removes letters from the awning of the former Trump Place in New York, Nov. 16, 2016. Donald Trump’s name is being stripped off three luxury apartment buildings after hundreds of tenants signed a petition saying they were embarrassed to live in a place associated with Trump.Seth Wenig/AP

Another interview from a former doorman of a Trump building in Brooklyn provided the following account:

“[Redacted] told me that if a black person came to 2650 Ocean Parkway and inquired about an apartment for rent, and he, that is [redacted] was not there at the time, that I should tell him that the rent was twice as much as it really was, in order that he could not afford the apartment.”

                    24. “If anyone knows Allan IRL, please check on him, I think he’s on the verge of a breakdown.”

Enigma, you are so nice and sweet worrying about me like that. Playing the race card didn’t work so you will try another technique and play the psychiatry card. One day you might even be playing with facts, but that seems to be a long way down the road more likely to never happen.

Regarding Trump’s books” ” I never read his books, any of them”

Enigma never read any of Trump’s books but quite a few postings took selective portions of the book and he made it seem he had read the book. Not being able to win on the truth and failing with the race card Enigma played tricks. Quote half of the story leaving out the other half containing the explanation. One thing about Enigma, fairness and truth never seems to enter his mind.

But he continues quoting sources that have casually looked at the data. In the end, the government dropped the case. Why? Because Trump isn’t a racist and they had no proof he was. Remember the Duke lacrosse case? Remember Tawana Brawley case? Remember countless of others that could fill a book? It seems that some all too easily accept charges of racism convicting people in the newspapers that are later found to be totally innocent. A lot of people have been hurt by these hatchet jobs and Enigma loves hatchets.

                    25. “But he continues quoting sources that have casually looked at the data”
Like employees of the Trump organization telling the FBI they were told to discriminate against blacks and Latinos. Fred Trump personally told his employees to discriminate against black people. RACIST!

In a separate report from The Washington Post, the government alleged that Trump employees marked minority applicants with codes, such as “No. 9” or “C” for “colored.”

                      Trump Place

                    26. Enigma continues quotes from sources that would have probably convicted the Duke lacrosse team and the one that raped Twana Brawley. Of course, the rape never happened and after nearly being totally destroyed the Duke lacrosse team members were found innocent and the prosecutor was prosecuted for his crimes.

Enigma believes in string ’em up based on someone seeing something he didn’t like. Who cares what the truth is according to Enigma. All we have to know is we don’t like him or his opinion. That is Enigma’s way. The problem for Enigma is our legal theory that a person is innocent until proven guilty. The government spent a lot of money trying to prove Trump was guilty of something. Once the government starts a process they always want to win even if they know the person is innocent. The government doesn’t care how much time it takes or how much it costs. The win (frequently for political gain) is all that counts. Despite all their money and all the time in the world the government had to give up on the case because the government was wrong.

By the way Donald Trump wasn’t the only target. Almost every landlord was. He was just the one chosen for that case. Why? High profile, irritated a lot of politicians, had a big mouth, etc. This was all about government pushing people around to show people how bad landlords are in the hope that they would garner more votes.

                    27. Inability to read with comprehension. What better sources than the employees that were instructed to implement the racist policies?
Fred Trump wasn’t arrested in 1927 in a Klan riot vs. the police or sued twice by the Federal government for Housing Discrimination because he was “high profile!” He was racist and his own employees documented it. You denying racism doesn’t make it not so.

                    28. ” You denying racism doesn’t make it not so.”

I am not denying anything. The government was out to get Trump and probably most of the landlords in NYC for racism charges, and all sorts of charges since for every landlord there are many tenents that vote. You think you have evidence just like you probably thought you had evidence against the Duke lacrosse team where the prosecutor was guilty of trumped-up charges. You don’t, because if the government had proof Trump would have not have been let go.

You don’t like the result and you don’t like our legal system where a man is innocent until proven guilty. You like the system of ‘let’s string ’em up’.

                    29. “His own employees! ”

Enigma, if the employees provided credible proof the government would not have dismissed the suit.

The Trumps have been involved with thousands of employees maybe even into the tens of thousands so it wouldn’t surprise me that some didn’t like the Trumps. People sometimes lie and sometimes like the prosecutor for the Duke Lacrosse team they become overly aggressive and commit criminal acts. Look at today and look at what the FBI has been doing. It isn’t all on the up and up is it? How many people told us that the Tawana Brawley story was true when it was a made up lie? How many newspapers drew the conclusion that Tawana Brawley most certainly was raped when it later was found to be a lie, Now we have to listen to you who states that Trump committed racist acts when even the government couldn’t prove it. Do you accept that as proof? No. You continue undaunted by your errant claims.

                    30. The government didn’t drop their charges against the Trump’s. They settled with them, twice, after they failed to comply the first time. You ignore the eyewitness testimony of Trump employees. You inflate the size of the company (during the 70’s) to dismiss the fact they testified Fred Trump told them personally. You blame it all on some unfounded conspiracy against all New York developers. The truth is, you are part of the reason racism is allowed to flourish. You deny its existence no matter the proof. “C” for colored!

                    31. “The government didn’t drop their charges against the Trump’s. They settled with them”

That is right, they settled with them which is modus operandi of many government suits. The government wants to show that it didn’t lose and will generally collect a few dollars whether those dollars are deserved or not. This common in other areas of the economy as well. Trump was innocent of the charges.

How many people worked for the Trumps is unknown to me and that is why I left the possibility open to a wide number of employees. Despite that, you make the asinine statement “You inflate the size of the company”. That is your modus operandi. Never think for a moment Enigma will use proof. He prefers the tool of racism. It’s a disgusting habit but it is yours.

                    32. Allan inflating the number of employees of the Trump Company in the 70’s which was a mom & pop.

“The Trumps have been involved with thousands of employees maybe even into the tens of thousands so it wouldn’t surprise me that some didn’t like the Trumps.”

                    33. “Allan inflating the number of employees of the Trump Company in the 70’s which was a mom & pop.”

Some claim Trump inherited all or most of his wealth and then complain the Trump Company in the 1970’s was a mom & pop. Consistency is a virtue that some lack.

I think you mean the Trump organization, not The Trump Company. The Trumps started their company in the 1920’s.

My statement which you didn’t bother to accurately paraphrase was. “The Trumps have been involved with thousands of employees maybe even into the tens of thousands” I think that from the 1920’s to today that number is quite reasonable.

Enigma loves to make a lot out of nothing. He could have quoted me exactly, but he didn’t. Instead, he changed the quote just like he changed what the news article said when he first called Trump a racist.

That is the type of person Enigma is. Dishonest and likes to use race as a tool against his enemies.

                    34. When this occurred in the seventies, Trump had very few employees and ones that knew him personally, credited him for the policy of excluding black people. If they had a million employees since it won’t change the fact Trump was racist. The only reason you bring up tens of thousands was to obscure that. I didn’t change any quote, I copied and pasted the relevant part. Every word yours.
You might examine why you need so badly for each Trump not to be racist despite all the proof they are. Harder to justify you maintaining their same positions?

                    35. Ok, Enigma, how many employees did Trump have then? How many independent contractors? How many people worked to maintain the buildings and do office work. Name the employees and quote exactly what they said and how they were employed.

You are making things up as you go along. You took a thread of a story and embellished it. Then you concluded Trump was a racist when with full knowledge of all those questions and more the government couldn’t come to that conclusion. There were more than a few employees as the Trump family enterprise of real estate existed since the 1920’s and was very prosperous. This is exactly what you did with the news article you referred me to. Nothing having to do with racism and Fred Trump even appeared on that page. You make yourself out to be a liar and one that uses racism as a tool just to help you win an argument. Despicable.

“You might examine why you need so badly for each Trump not to be racist ”

I don’t need Trump to be one way or the other. I just find it very offensive when one uses race as a tool against people they don’t like. It doesn’t matter to me whether I like them or not. I don’t like people playing the race card. It can kill. I asked for proof and you provided garbage. Despicable.

                    36. The FBI chose to redact the names of the witnesses and employees, their statements are enough for me. One employee, Thomas Miranda, although fearful that Trump would have him “knocked off” did give an interview and explained how he was aware of the “racial code.” Two rental agents, Donald Herman and Allan Gross (look you spell your names the same way) also acknowledged the code existed. Harry Schefflin was told personally by Fred Trump about the code. This article provided contains several other names including people the Trumps would not rent to and testers sent by the Government. The “race card” can kill? Give me an example, please?

                      https://www.thedailybeast.com/doj-trumps-early-businesses-blocked-blacks

                    37. 1920’s release as an innocent bystander. That person may or may not have been Fred Trump at age 21.

1970’s Government investigation of racism of the Trump family investments where a claim of racism is found not prosecutable, the Trump’s are innocent of the claim. The Trumps were the ones targeted because of their high profile, but the government could have targeted almost any landlord in the city for the same thing including black landlords. A lot of this revolved around racial turmoil and high rental costs. Politicians were looking to garner votes and using the race card was a great way to do it. It was felt that would help with the black vote, not the people.

~2016, about 45 years later, Enigma wakes up to suddenly realize that Donald Trump is a racist. Why? Because suddenly Donald Trump is running for office on the Republican ticket. All of a sudden his interest in black people intensifies and he realizes he has a weapon, racism. He then declares his private war against Trump, but instead of arguing policy he finds that racism can be used as bigger weapon even when the claim is untrue.

Enigma uses the failed government suit as his platform of racism and includes D. Trump’s father, for how can the son not be a racist based upon an event that happened 90 years earlier involving his father? Enigma does this despite a lack of proof that Fred Trump was even the one arrested or that he did anything wrong. The 1920’s news article waved as a flag of racism by Enigma didn’t prove anything about Fred Trump or any racism.

It’s not really about racism. It’s about politics and different views where the race card is raised solely as a weapon and to keep the argument focused on race instead of solving the social problems that have caused havoc in the black community.

[The data Enigma provides below sounds good to Enigma since they are good soundbites, but they weren’t good enough for the government investigators. Some people lied, Some enhanced the truth, some started having memories that were influenced by things around them rather than accurate memories, etc. Suffice it to say the government would have pursued the case if what Enigma called proof was actually proof.]

                    38. Enigma, all one has to look at is the evidence. It is clear you have weaponized racism as a political tool to use against anyone you disagree with.

I have always fought against racism of all types, but it is the folk like you that weaponize it for uses anywhere they wish that makes that task so much more difficult.

                    39. You tell everyone that will listen that the evidence doesn’t exist. You equate the Federal Government suing Trump twice for Housing Discrimination and reaching settlements with them dropping charges when that’s not nearly the same thing. The second suit was for failing to live up to the conditions after the first. There are several named employees describing the exact type of discrimination they were told by Fred Trump to employ, they gave depositions under oath to the FBI. You write them off as liars, haters, and suggest the company was so large that there was no reason to place blame on the owners. The evidence is clear, it’s your reaction that’s muddled.

                    40. Enigma, when dealing with things of this nature settlements prove nothing except that an individual has to pay his lawyers while the government just bills the taxpayer. We see that occurring in many sectors of the economy. That is why government settlements occur so frequently. Sometimes the government will settle for a mere $50 or less just to demonstrate that they didn’t lose when they should have. If one could sue the government for malicious prosecution and actually collect like one could when maliciously sued by another entity the government wouldn’t be so gung-ho charging people with things that were not true.

If the evidence could prove Trump guilty of racism they would never have settled.

On the other hand, you have nothing to lose by weaponizing the race card so you feel you can do it with impunity and it seems you have. Unfortunately, that comes with a personal price of one’s dignity.

We also have to look at how you “muddle” the facts and take into account what you bring to the table. Let me quote you: “The second suit was for failing to live up to the conditions after the first. There are several named employees describing the exact type of discrimination they were told by Fred Trump to employ”

One cannot prove if those statements were meaningful or not. Memories stray and people have a tendency to not always tell the truth and in this case, your accusations are about Fred Trump (who I believe not to be guilty), not Donald Trump. We have to ask ourselves how many people believed the Duke lacrosse players were guilty based upon the statements made and their desires to put away a bunch of privileged youth. Let’s hear from a Duke black lacrosse player and what he had to say. “It’s just amazing that the things you see and that [were] going on in this case and how the reversal from black stereotype to now rich white, privileged stereotype.” Yes, Donald Trump was rich and from what you have said, privileged, and white. What happened to the Duke lacrosse players can just as easily have happened to Donald Trump.

I’ll provide a bit more from that lacrosse player, below, but it is clear the weaponization of race and “privilege” exists and I believe you are a proponent of this type of nonsense.

                    41. All the distractions you want to talk about don’t change Trump’s behavior, both of them by the way but primarily Fred. You’re saying, disregard the employees’ testimony because they may have misremembered. You say if there were proof of racism the government would not settle. Are you serious, have big bankers gone to jail for defrauding the public> Destroying the economy? How often do corporations go to jail for racism? Never. They settle, they agree to a change in behavior (which Trump did) and if they don’t comply (Trump didn’t) they get dragged back to court again (Trump did). So for every piece of evidence (actual evidence from FBI reports and sworn statements) just keep repeating “Duke LaCrosse” or “Tawanna Brawley.” You’re convincing everyone with that logic.

                    42. ” You’re saying, disregard the employees’ testimony because they may have misremembered.”

No. I’m saying the government settled because they didn’t have a case.

Despite what you think bankers did go to jail after the crash, but there is a difference between being irresponsible (which many were) and illegal ( I would have preferred more prosecution and let that prosecution extend to government officials.) After all, a major part of the blame for the crash was due to the government pushing the financial sector to loan money to people that shouldn’t have been given loans. The government then doubled down and asked Wall Street to find a way of selling those bad loans so more money would be available for more bad loans. Of course sometimes if those loans weren’t made the bank involved was considered racist.

You might think Trump was a bit irresponsible at times, but what he did didn’t constitute racism and wasn’t illegal. As I said before if you wish to convict Trump of racism based on the facts available then you probably could convict almost every landlord in the city of New York of racism or other actions.

Keep playing the race card Enigma. It seems to suit your personality. Thank goodness the Duke lacrosse team never ended up in front of a jury that consisted of people like you. They would have been found guilty.

                    43. Can’t be any simpler? Of course, it can.

It could be as simple as the claim against the Duke lacrosse team.

Both cases have a similarity. Both were dropped by the government, but the innocent boy’s parents paid a very hefty price for being innocent. This cost Trump a hefty price in time and legal fees.

                    44. If I remember correctly the settlement wasn’t much of anything and more of a procedural process. We see that happening a lot with the government. The racist charge disappeared. However, your weaponization of racism has never disappeared and your use of it to attack innocent people or protect the guilty is disgusting.

With police officers the chanting goes something like this “‘Pigs In A Blanket, Fry ‘Em Like Bacon'” and we saw earlier on this list your affinity towards those making such outrageous statements.

                    45. The chances of you remembering anything correctly are remote. ” Remember” the second Federal lawsuit was for not living up to the terms of the first settlement.

                    46. Procedural issues, not racism. You don’t care what the truth is. Your motto is “Pigs in a blanket fry ‘Em like bacon” Your support of such groups tells us exactly where you stand. You stand as a bystander cheering when racist claims are made even when people die.

                    47. Weaponizing racism is your thing Enigma. To you, everyone is a racist if they don’t agree with your opinions. Even the police are racists when they are stopping criminal acts that you support.

Keep chanting your motto: ‘Pigs in a Blanket Fry ’em Like Bacon’.

Procedural issues are not racism. But the killing or injuring of police officers is fine because to you they are all racists as well.

                    48. You haven’t called me a racist because it would be very hard to do so and it would disclose you for what you are. In the meantime, we watch as inner-city children that should be protected by the police lose their lives because of the type of race-baiting encouraged by educated people that should know better. Those people are too interested in calling people racists based on what a relative may or may not have been involved in 90 years ago and an investigation that led nowhere 45 years ago. Trash.

You should be ashamed of yourself for closing your eyes on those that truly need inspired leadership.

                    49. You just finished saying I call everyone a racist I disagree with. I disagree with you. I’ve never called you a racist. In this and so many other things, you are wrong.

                    50. Your statement is inaccurate. I said you weaponized racism against people you disagree with and you call people racists as part of that weapon. You say very little that actually helps the inner city children that are dying in the streets. You are too busy laying blame on 90-year-old disproven claims. Right now Trump is doing a great job and blacks along with other minorities are better off, but you would rather play the race card. That is vile.

                    51. You said this earlier today, ” To you, everyone is a racist if they don’t agree with your opinions.”
                      1. Did I misquote you?
                      2. Did I mischaracterize your statement?
                      3. Can’t you admit you’re just making stuff up as you go along?

                      Waiting for my apology…

                    52. “You said this earlier today, ” To you, everyone is a racist if they don’t agree with your opinions.”

Enigma, That is quite different than my stating that you: ” call everyone a racist” which is what you said I said.

Enigma, you have difficulty getting things straight. You screwed up again. You have become a giant bore along with being a giant race baiter.

“2. Did I mischaracterize your statement?”

                      Absolutely.

                    53. (Continued from above or below)

Take note that the prosecution by the government went on despite: “Every member of the men’s lacrosse team, except Sherwood, took DNA tests that failed to conclusively show any of them assaulted the woman. ”

The following demonstrates the mindset when people abuse race and use it as a weapon like Enigma does and how easy it is for people to make claims that never happened yet have a lot of people believe them. It also shows how government in the hands of a “politician” can abuse his office and knowingly prosecute innocent individuals.

                      http://www.foxnews.com/story/2006/10/31/black-duke-lacrosse-player-says-race-has-played-issue-in-alleged-rape-case.html

Black Duke Lacrosse Player Says Race Has Played Issue in Alleged Rape Case

                      Fox NewsPublished October 31, 2006
The only black player on the Duke University men’s lacrosse team has come forward amid a rape investigation, saying that his three white teammates who have been accused of raping a stripper have been stereotyped by class and skin color.

“It’s almost a reversal,” Devon Sherwood, 19, said in an interview Tuesday morning on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” adding that it’s been assumed by many in Durham that the players’ parents are going to just use their money to hire hot-shot lawyers to get them out of their predicament.

“It’s just been all the stereotypes… I’ve even been stereotyped for being rich, being on full scholarship, [being] not in touch with my own black community at Duke… It’s terrible to find yourself being stereotyped,” Sherwood continued. “And you’re like, ‘Hold on, this couldn’t be much further from the truth … It’s just amazing that the things you see and that [were] going on in this case and how the reversal from black stereotype to now rich white, privileged stereotype.”

The three accused Duke players, team captain Dave Evans, Collin Finnerty and Reade Seligmann, have been charged with felony rape. All three defendants insist they are innocent of the charges. Their trial is expected to begin next spring.

The accuser, a black exotic dancer who attends a nearby college, claims she was assaulted by several white players in the bathroom of an off-campus lacrosse house during a party for which she was hired to perform.

But even the second stripper who accompanied her to the party has shed doubt on her claims, and has told the media that the accuser seemed “fine” after the time of the alleged rape, while poking other holes in the accuser’s account.

Every member of the men’s lacrosse team, except Sherwood, took DNA tests that failed to conclusively show any of them assaulted the woman. Sherwood didn’t get tested because the accuser said her attackers were white.

“It’s almost like I’m leaving them…it’s like I’m not there with my troops. That’s the kind of sense I felt,” he said of not being tested.

Sherwood told ABC he finds it “impossible” to believe that the rape allegations are true, given the good character of his teammates.

“I’m 100 percent confident … I know nothing indeed happened that night at all,” he said. “I believe in the character of my teammates. I believe in the character of specifically [the three defendants]. I would never ever… doubt them or think, ‘Well, are they lying?’ I would never do that, because I believe in them.”

                      ‘I Was Stunned’

Sherwood, who left the party early on March 13, the night the woman claims the assault took place, described the party as being “kind of boring” and that he learned about the rape allegations a couple days later at a bowling alley with some teammates.

“Everybody’s having a fun time and I just looked over my shoulder. And I saw four captains talking to our former coach. And we knew something was wrong,” he said. “We were like, ‘What’s going on? Did the coach find out about the stripper party or what?”’

When he learned of the allegations, he said, “I was stunned.”

“I was surprised. I was dumbfounded,” he said. “You know what? It was almost, it was movie-like.”

Both strippers dancers claims the lacrosse players hurled racial slurs at them during the party. Those comments have never been flatly denied publicly by the players.

Sherwood told ABC that his teammates urged him not to believe everything that was being said about the team and said he felt “special” because although they were facing a heap of legal trouble, they were concerned with his feelings.

But “if it is in fact true, it’s disgusting,” Sherwood said of the racial slur reports, addeing that he’s never heard his teammates even jokingly utter any insults of that nature.

Sherwood said in the interview that he’s received a variety of e-mails, including some that said he wasn’t sticking up for his race.

“I would get random e-mails saying I was letting down my race, that I should turn in my teammates, referring to me as a ‘young black soldier,’ basically saying I was letting down my race, I was letting down my forefathers, which is completely insane,” he said.

On Durham District Attorney Mike Nifong, who last week said he still had not interviewed the accuser, Sherwood said it’s his belief Nifong has used the race issue “to his advantage to get re-elected” in a heavily African American district.

“I think he’s used that — he’s used … the black people of Durham — and the white people of Durham as well,” Sherwood said.

And although the ordeal has shattered the lives of some at Duke and in Durham, Sherwood said the entire experience has also strengthened the bond between the players.

“I had one brother when I came to Duke. Now I have 47 brothers…46 of them just happen to be white,” he said. “We’re almost inseparable … We have a bond for life that no one else has. We know that we’re in a unique situation. And it’s something to be… definitely something to remember.”

                    54. Trump Employees Who Rented Properties Testified That They Were Told Trump’s Company Only Wanted To Rent To “Jews And Executives,” “Discouraged Rental To Blacks.” According to Washington Post, “Two former Trump employees, a husband and wife who rented properties, were quoted in court documents as saying they were told that the company wanted to rent only to ‘Jews and Executives’ and ‘discouraged rental to blacks.’ The couple told the government’s lawyers that they were advised that ‘a racial code was in effect, blacks being referred to as ‘No. 9.’ ‘” [Washington Post, 1/23/16]

                    55. In a large business many things are going on and happen and many people are worried about things other than racism. If the government had any proof of such racism that landed on Donald trump they wouldn’t have given up on the suit. This charge of racism was common in NYC where rentals were concerned. Apparently, you could say that all landlords were racist, the black landlords included. However, in the end, the government dropped the suit because Donald Trump wasn’t a racist. He was a businessman. His job was to provide housing which he did very well.

The fact that Trump was a businessman and rich offends many people especially those on the left and those looking for handouts. You apparently in one way or another fit in with both groups. Unfortunately, you create the racism that I and most people would want to be ended.

                    56. 1974: Trump Claimed Ignorance Of Fair Housing Act
March 1974: Trump Testified That He Did Not Know What The Fair Housing Act Of 1969 Was And That His Company Had Done Nothing To Implement It. According to Trump: The Deals And The Downfall, ‘Donald’s deposition in the case in March of 1974 caught the essence of his social conscience. He didn’t know what the Fair Housing Act of 1969 was and freely admitted that the company had done nothing to implement it.’ [Trump: The Deals And The Downfall,12/1/91]

                    57. Your latest attempt at race baiting becomes very technical and was argued by attorneys that understand housing law better than you or I. When all the technicalities were argued the government ceased prosecution because Donald Trump is not a racist. Apparently, you are paraphrasing from his book, but if you completed reading it I am sure Donald Trump would have also explained why you and the government were wrong.

Did Donald Trump follow every letter of the regulations? Probably not because I don’t think anyone can follow government regulations perfectly. Ever have to make a left turn where there is a left-hand lane that is filled up yet there is space behind the yellow lines which that one can occupy instead of blocking traffic and getting rear-ended? You just broke a rule while avoiding an accident. So it is with NYC housing. To comply with one rule one has to break another rule. Your arguments are BS because you don’t know the circumstances or the law. The worst part is, you don’t care. You prefer to call people racists solely because you disagree with them.

                    58. Trump Hid His Racial Discrimination Probe From Casino Regulators

Trump Failed To Inform Casino Regulators About 1970s Federal Racial Discrimination Probe Into Trump Organization, Which Would Have Put His License In Jeopardy. In his book TrumpNation, Timothy L. O’Brien wrote, ‘According to investigative reporter Wayne Barrett, an early and dogged Trump biographer, Donald considered funneling campaign contributions to Mathews through Shapiro—which Donald disputed in an interview with me. New Jersey law enforcement officials later investigated Barrett’s assertions, including that Donald failed to inform casino regulators about the federal racial discrimination probe of the Trump Organization in the 1970s—an omission that would have put his casino license in jeopardy.‘ [TrumpNation, 1/1/05

                    59. Again, Enigma you selectively paraphrase what Trump in his books leaving out his rationals. I am sure Trump violated some rules and regulations in his businesses. Who hasn’t? How many people have jaywalked? That means one didn’t cross the street where or when they were supposed to? That would happen anytime when the light was red for traffic and the sign didn’t say walk. How many people got a speeding ticket? That too is a violation. How many landlords under the Lindsay administration were fined because there was a cosmetic crack in the wall of the building that was over 50 years old? How many landlords were fined because tenants through garbage into the halls?

Get real Enigma and find substantial complaints and evidence. I’ll bet I could go look at your business practices and find violations of the law (rules and regulations) even if you are a pretty honest fellow.

                    60. 1973: Justice Department Sued Trump, Father For Racial Discrimination
1973: Justice Department Sued Donald Trump, His Father For Refusing To Rent To African Americans. In his book TrumpNation, Timothy L. O’Brien wrote, “Cohn did more for Donald than make introductions. The Justice Department sued Donald and his father in 1973, charging the builders with racial discrimination for refusing to rent to African Americans.” [TrumpNation, 1/1/05]

Washington Post: “As Company President, Donald Trump Took An Interest In All Levels Of The Business.” According to Washington Post, “As company president, Donald Trump took an interest in all levels of the business, according to his own accounts. He often helped his father with management chores, including collecting rent, sometimes from unruly tenants.” [Washington Post, 1/23/16]

                    61. Anyone can write anything they want, but that doesn’t mean they are drawing a complete picture. In the end we know one thing. The government dropped a case they would have pursued if Trump were guilty of racism. They invested a lot of time and money on the case and in the end they had nothing.

                    62. Different sides of the same coin. It’s an intellectually weak claim and does nothing to solve actual problems.

                    63. “I am sure Trump violated some rules and regulations in his businesses. Who hasn’t? How many people have jaywalked?”

How lame, Allan. So you are sure that violation of ‘rules and regulations’ is commonplace, along with jaywalking, which of course has nothing to do with any business.

You did good, with such a powerful argument; kudos.

                    64. “How lame, Allan. So you are sure that violation of ‘rules and regulations’ is commonplace, along with jaywalking, which of course has nothing to do with any business.”

WWAS, it seems you are becoming a bit unhinged. Not only did I mention jaywalking as an analogy I also mentioned things relative to landlords in the city of NY and relative to the Trumps, garbage and cracks in the wall. I know in your unhinged condition it is difficult to focus on more than one thing at a time, but that is something you have to learn to do when engaging in intelligent conversation.

          2. Paul C. Schulte,…
According to an Onion article a few days ago, it was the porn star who paid TRUMP the $130,000 hush money to keep the affair quiet. 😄

          3. T rump has gone wit every kinda hooker. Da Ruskie pee pros are his faves now cause Putin’s got da goods. He is a whore mongering war mongering man and he is your dear leader not mine.

            1. Ken – if someone would have held it down, JFK would have fu**ed a snake. If it moved and had a skirt on, it was his.

  10. No psych evaluation was performed on da psycho. Crazy mean. to have a threesome with da pornos when your wife has a new baby and that ain’t even near to da worst of da bad crazy stuff he has done.

    1. Fox built its ratings on the Clinton scandal but, can’t find Stormy? Rhetorically is it because Monica is a brunette and Stormy’s bottle blonde appears more Aryan to the old geezer running Fox for the geriatric set of diminished capacity men?

      1. Are you so delusional that you think da. T rump isn’t off the charts on da perversion scale or maybe you live a life like he does so da threesomes with porn Star Stormy and friends is your thing . Melania got a bad bad man and she knows it.

        1. Ken, you apparently like a lot of legs and can’t count that high when you have a threesome.

            1. “I am a bit religious and don’t believe in treatin da women like you and T rump.”

Ken, does that mean you don’t do pigs on the Sabbath?

  11. I could just imagine the results of this test or any comparable exam given to Nancy P, Maxine, the cowboy hat lady or the rest of the collusion nuts.

  12. As a neurologist, I use cognitive tests daily, and the MoCA is the most rudimentary of these, appropriate only for the briefest screening. VeritasInTotality’s first two paragraphs are spot on.

Trump’s mental status is not entirely clear, however. Granted his English usage is abysmal and the content of some of his statements embarrassingly puerile, it’s possible that the faults stem from laziness, egotism and attempts to identify with what he thinks of as his base (“I love the uneducated”, which is terribly insulting to his supporters).

    1. Your assessment proves one thing your not a neurologist or anyone else in the medical profession.

    2. I hate to correct someone with MD after their name but accusing Trump of laziness makes it appear that the person saying it hasn’t been very attentive lately.

          1. Allan,…
            – I was thinking specifically about the 1187 MDs who found Goldwater to “mentally unfit” for the presidency.
For those who were cowed by the MD label, reluctant to challenge those findings, the best antidote might have been to put MDs behind their own names.
Using those bogus “credentials” would be no more harmful than the bogus “diagnoses” of the 1187.

            1. Physicians that do that are acting despicably as they destroy the moral authority they have based on the initials that follow their name.

      1. I wrote that it is POSSIBLE that laziness plays a role…not knowing the man, I cannot assess his activity level. Various reports have mentioned that he gets out of bed after 11:00 am; he may well be very energetic in the afternoon and evening hours.

        1. Various reports have mentioned that he gets out of bed after 11:00 am;

Is that how you provide medical advise to your patients? Various reports mention…so take 2 and call me in the morning. You may very well have no idea what you’re talking about.

          1. What nonsense. Writing on a blog in one’s spare time is not working.with patients. If you read my comments, you will see that I have not made an attempt to diagnose. I use a variety of.cognitive tests; MoCA is so crude that a patient would need to be moderately – severely demented to get a low score.
Say what you wish About my professional credentials, but the next person you write to online might be your doctor.

            1. Say what you wish About my professional credentials, but the next person you write to online might be your doctor.

Not if they tell me I’m more energetic in the PM because various reports mention I don’t get out of bed til 11am.

            2. “Say what you wish About my professional credentials, but the next person you write to online might be your doctor.”

RoseMD, so what? Are you trying to say that you do a lousy job on people you don’t like and don’t agree with? Nowadays physicians need more of a spine to do what is right and not what is convenient or most beneficial for them.

        2. RoseMD: If you were observant of his behavior enough to say all the things you did then you would have recognized that he is not lazy. You chose to include a diagnosis that should most definitely not have been included. That is bad medicine and leads to a faulty diagnosis. Your research is also poor something that MD’s have to avoid, but quacks don’t.

      2. You might want to sit down, I have something to tell you that will make you very sad…You see, outside of Pravda Faux News, gullible rubes and Russian trolls, watching television, tweeting inanities, and playing golf are not considered “being hard at work” for a President of the United States. On the bright side, if he had the discipline of even a ten-year old, the harm he’s done to date would be amplified.

this is to “what’s the conversion rate of rubles today” allan

        1. You have been filing too much today Mark M and have so many paper cuts and so much bleeding that the blood is not flowing strongly to your brain. Then again I don’t think it ever did.

          1. Allan,
Snarky Marky sits around with his thumb up his nose, contributes nothing substantial, then loads up with brief, bitchy, canned remark.
He and Ken are the dual clown act here.

  13. It would not be at all surprising to find out in the coming months from a whistle blower who found the test in the waste basket, that he actually did not pass the MCA. Because he is unable to complete a sentence without reading the words, it’s doubtful that he could pass the MCA.

    1. “Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.”

ModernMinor: In this case, it would have been right about 30 times in less than an hour.

  14. The test is fairly specific and accurate for the type of cognitive impairment that occurs with Alzheimer’s and closely related conditions; and for any human with nueronormative brain development past the age of roughly two and a half to three that’s should be about it.

The President could easily have serious mental or cognitive impairments, psychological issues, or have areas with significant intelligence defects and this test would show nothing (he could just as equally have outstanding qualities in any of these areas without there being any evidence for it in this test).

    However-
We can look at some of his other claims such as having a very high IQ, or having a large & diverse vocabulary and knowing “all the best words” both of which are repeatedly contradicted by his routine use & abuse of the English language, and his rather shallow and incomplete grasp of even the simpler topics which are specific and directly relevant to the subject matter that his administration is directly engaged in and dealing with from moment to moment (not to mention his very well known strong disinclination to read virtually anything, and his complete aversion to facts).

    1. Veritas

How would your last paragraph prove Mr. Trump having a lacking or deficient intelligence when he managed to grow his business empire over decades to the size and value it has today? His choices and delivery of words is not fully indicative of his intelligence and cognitive ability, nor is certainly the case regarding other individuals conclusively.

I believe your analysis demonstrates the effect of confirmation bias.

      1. The bankruptcies?
Where did Trump’s recent loans come from- maybe a foreign nation that saw Trump’s potential to make an impoverished population and the richest 1%, responsible for their impoverishment, vote him into office as the President of the U.S.?

      2. I imagine even you could be a billionaire if daddy gave you a 100M. Remains to be seen if tRump managed to do so.

    2. The standard set by the 25th Amendment is incapacitation, not “fitness”. You and I can see as well as anybody else that Trump is not incapacitated. Whether he’s “fit”, by dint of intellect, character, and temperament, was a question for voters to decide. I happen to think he’s manifestly unfit. However, I recognize that I don’t get a veto on the question.

    3. It’s actually horrifying that this conversation must be held regarding a President of the United States.

  15. Trump’s test was Special. He was asked to draw a RINO instead of a rhino.

    1. And if you answered draw something instead of identify something you evidenced a lack of cognition.

  16. Be surprised how many people would fail this with normal cognitive skills. Give the dude credit, he stpped up even though the narrative was without merit. We’re in an age where objective facts are ignored for false slanders. Media has lost its way as it pursues political assasinations. Thats Democracies greatest threat, a compromised press. Depressing

    1. The greatest threat is concentrated wealth because it is inextricably linked to concentrated power.

The 400 richest U.S. families have installed a Republican government via political spending (Koch’s $400,000,000 in 2016, Uihlein $23 mil.,Adelson, Mercer, et, al., voter suppression, and egregious gerrymandering.

      1. So your argument is that the people most capable of handling large responsibilities ought to be alleviated of it, and those who are more complacent, hedonistic, and poor planners should be handed large responsibilities. Linda, you take a lot for granted.

        1. “Capable” and practiced at exploitation and then, expected to be statesmen building national security and peace and prosperity for all – what could possibly go wrong.

pbinc, thought you’d enjoy this quip found on the web about Trump’s “Fake News” awards, “And the winner of #Fake News is….404 error (guess Moscow server is down for maintenance).”

        2. pbinca,…
-It’s a variation of the old Soviet joke about the farmer wanting the Party to kill one of his neighbor’s cows.
There is an obsession, largely driven by resentments and jealousy, to “bring down” the “oligarchs”.
That action may not improve anyone’s situation, and may have widespread negative consequences, but for certain fanatics the fallout would seem to be well worth taking down “the oligarchs”.
This isn’t a widespread political/ social movement, but there is a conviction on the part of the True Believers that they can convince others to join them in holy war against the oligarchs.

          1. (1) Share of national income going to labor is at its lowest point in U.S. recorded history. (2) Picketty’s extrapolations. Both, are reason enough to try to avert disaster for this and future generations (and, to bring down the Kochtopus, who wear the blood of Stalin’s victims).

            1. “Picketty’s extrapolations”

Linda, you quote soundbites very well, but you don’t bother with substance. Piketty has a problem with his extrapolations and you need to show why any of the results are worse than the world you want us to live in.

That seems to be too difficult for you.

                1. “Allan, give it up. “Linda” is not real – it is a bot”

Foxtrot, no bot can be that ignorant.

    2. A free media is the greatest bulwark against totalitarianism. The Post and the Times, especially, will deserve the adulation of all patriotic Americans when we finally are able to safeguard the Republic from the greatest extant threat since 1861.

      1. Marky Mark Mark – the Times and the Post are arms of the DNC and anyone who does not see that is a rank amateur in politics.

  17. Since age 70 I have taken a cognitive test with my annual physical every year. It is like playing 20 questions.

    1. Found this interesting is or are there any similar one can take on line?

In the military we called this the RTFQ test for Read The Fricking Question Usually it involved something in the preliminary instructions such as read before starting. The last line was “print your name at the top of the front page, turn in the paper return at 1300. If you did the questions one or two would hang you up for ten or so minutes each.

      1. At the end of eight weeks of demolitions training and some engineering we had a one question test. What is the most clandestine way using the least amount of explosives possible to destroy a wooden bridge

The answer: A gallon of gas and a match.

        1. Clandestine ~ secretive, illicit, etc., just like tRump you know all the good words, comrade. English not your mother tongue, much.
