Tandem DUI Driving: Two Women In New Jersey Take Turns To See Who Is Less Drunk . . . Leaving Four Wrecked Cars In Their Path

Gebrüder_OpelPolice in New Jersey are facing a rather novel case of two women in the same car who are both charged with impaired driving because they allegedly took turns driving drunk. Jamila Banks, 24, of Virginia andJanelle Green, 23, switched seats over the weekend.  It did not help. Both women allegedly smashed into cars. It appears that drunk driving is not one of those things that improves with numbers.

Both women allegedly drove into parked cars. In all, four other cars were damaged and their SUV was so damaged that it could not be driven.

Police say that there was strong alcohol odor on both women who reportedly confessed that they were trying to determine who was the least drunk after leaving a club.  One of the woman registered a BAL of  0.17 and the other registered 0.14.

They are both charged with drunken driving in a school zone and reckless driving.

  1. CV Brown – I did not know there was a statute against driving drunk in a school zone at 4 am. I missed that one. 😉

  2. Cars don’t kill people. Drivers kill people.

These two women were reprehensible for selfishly putting everyone else’s lives on the road at risk because they wouldn’t call a cab or an Uber. Give me a break. If they could afford to get that drunk, they could afford to plan ahead of time for a ride.

  3. I think the contest should have been who was too stupid to call a cab and they both won. 😉
