You have heard of the NRA but how about KRI or KRO? Knife rights organizations could well replace the National Rifle Association on the front of weapon control legislation after London’s Mayor Sadiq Khan moved to impose severe limits on knife possession. It has long been a mantra among NRA supporters that “knives will be next” and Khan has fulfilled that narrative after knife attacks in London pushed the city’s murder rate on par with that of New York City. Now Khan has declared “No excuses: there is never a reason to carry a knife. Anyone who does will be caught, and they will feel the full force of the law.”
Khan is pushing for a crackdown on knives as well as acid sales. Acid attacks have been popular in Muslim countries and have begun to rise in Europe.
Knives
It is illegal to:
- sell a knife of any kind to anyone under 18 years old (16 to 18 year olds in Scotland can buy cutlery and kitchen knives)
- carry a knife in public without good reason – unless it’s a knife with a folding blade 3 inches long (7.62 cm) or less, e.g. a Swiss Army knife (a “lock knife” does not come into the category of “folding pocket knife” because it is not immediately foldable at all times)
- carry, buy or sell any type of banned knife
- use any knife in a threatening way (including a legal knife, such as a Swiss Army knife)
Will there be a waiting period, and a backround check. How about a psychological evaluation to go along with it. Before we buy my cutlery we will need 2 letters of recomdation. When does this left wing stupidity end?
This is merely the modern spin of the British tactic of appeasement. In today’s version we simply replace “Neville Chamberlain” with “Sadiq Khan” and “Nazi Germany/Facist Italy” with “the criminal element”.
quit insulting chamberlain and the Axis by comparing them to the flakey mayor of London
I got a knife right here. In me pocketses every day. Gollum Sadiq Khan no likey: “It’s an elvish blade precious!…”
Automobiles will probably be next. Maybe sporting equipment like tennis rackets will soon follow.
Mr. Turley is wrong again. London’s crime rate does not “rival” New York’s crime rate. It handily EXCEEDS New York’s crime rate. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-britain-crime-murder/london-murder-rate-overtakes-new-york-as-knife-crime-rises-idUSKCN1HA1DH.
But this is not surprising. A higher crime rate was, of course, what the Londoners VOTED for when they elected London’s first Muslim mayor, Sadiq Khan. So don’t feel sorry for London and let them enjoy the crime they voted for.
so true, brits brought this on themselves, a sort of slow suicide of a culture and it is painful to watch but I have no pity for a nation that will not defend itself.
They are not just taking away ONE potential means of harming another person, but they are also taking away the “another person’s” right and ability to defend themselves. Which will mostly work against women and small, weak men.
A gun is a great equalizer for a woman. A knife, less of an equalizer but better than nothing. Soon, it will be down to mano-a-womano, and we will be screwed. Probably literally as well as figuratively. That is assuming that the bad guys obey the law at all, and shed the shivs. Or dump their guns. Remember, in England, if these homeowners had shot the invaders, they would be imprisoned:

This is why people who are unfamiliar with both weapons and tools should not be allowed to make rules about either.
What if you’re a chef going to work?
What part of ‘no’ didn’t you read in “No excuse.”
You must risk you freedom for you livelihood.
Silly British subjects. They obviously didn’t get the word that if they had a Bill of Rights, government wouldn’t bother trying to infringe upon them. /sarc off.
Adding to the list:
Bricks, rocks, sling shots, broken beer bottles, chains, baseball bats, golf clubs, tennis rackets, hockey sticks, box cutters…
Londistan.
They had similar laws in the Middle Ages. Peasant farmers were only allowed to own short knives; the aristocracy were of course allowed swords.
Progressivism=Regression.
Got it.
Riesling:
Actually, that wasn’t the case in England:

Thanks, Mespo! I’ve only learned about the Germanic side……
Wait til somone starts using curry dishes as molten weapons.
That will get some folks attention.
So is the pizza delivery guy the only one who is allowed to carry a weapon?
Namely his pizzas?
Amusing: “…carry a knife in public without good reason”
And “good reason” is defined how?
If you see an apple that needs slicing?? Carve a nice duck?? Who the heck knows???
Got to love this leftist philosophy. To say that it frequently comes up short is like saying it’s breezy in a category 5 hurricane.
I’m pretty sure that in this context, “without good reason” means “if a police officer doesn’t like it”.
Well, cars are used to massacre via car bombs and simply plowing into crowds. Follow the fascist “logic.”
How’s it goin’ Nick? Haven’t seen you around here in a while. But I don’t think I’ve been around much in a while either…
Point made. To fight car bombs, you have to remove accelerator pedals. Or just remove everyone’s lower legs. It’s that sort of hollow man’s empty logic. But, these are the lefties who are great at not letting any tragic situation go to waste when it can further their agenda!
When it comes to the individual right of self defense, this is where Linda’s rant against the wealthy would have merit. They are not going to be without the means to defend themselves. They will have bodyguards who are carrying weapons to protect their clients; including this mayor and MOP’s. If they had to move about in public under the same restrictions, they would be less likely to be this stupid.
slohrs, Thanks for asking. Going OK, how you doing? You are correct about the left using tragedy to control people. I can avoid controlling people in my personal life, and do just that. But the govt. is impossible to avoid.
Nick:
slohrs, Thanks for asking. Going OK, how you doing?

My lawyers ear detects a note of concern. Anything we can help with?
Thanks much, mespo. No legal problems. Our family is facing a health crisis. But, we have great medical care and are confident. Just scared.
Nick,
I’m sorry you are having to deal with this issue. You and your family are in my prayers.
Sorry to hear that, Nick. Extra prayer for your family from me.
Sorry to hear about that. Accept my good wishes for a speedy and happy outcome.
Olly, Riesling and mespo. Thanks. I’m optimistic. However, it involves a child. And anyone w/ kids knows you would MUCH rather have the sickness than see your kid suffer. My absence has been mostly this issue, but I’m also working a little more. Please know your prayers and good wishes mean a lot.
Sorry about your news. Hope the little child recovers soon. Healthcare in Minnesota is among the best.
SWM, Thanks. We do have great healthcare here in MN. We also consulted out in San Diego @ Scripps getting marvelous support. The child is grown, not a toddler.
Hi Nick,
I hear we share somewhat of the same problem lately, We are the natural warriors that willingly protect our families & communities & are care givers.
Searching, I found one of the great lawyers around Tulsa, He said forget about those fake medical bill numbers & going home & take of your loved as they will feel very poorly & test your strength not to give up on them.
True That multiple times yet the family has passed those most troubling gates/tests.
Let me tell people here what I’ve experienced over the the years for their own families benefit.
In Tulsa/in Okla, St Francis, St Johns assoc. to MD Anderson has failed I believe everyone one of our families/extended families.
This time, when they only seemed to only offer to measure the families loved one out for a coffin my daughter & I threw a fit & we moved them to Cancer Treatment Center of America.
Knock on wood their status has been changed to they think they can cure this type of stage 4 crap.
We’ll see soon.
Nick, tough guys we are, yet we pray for help to protect our loved ones as I do for yours & as I did for Charles Stanley’s loved ones.
One last thought from the native Americans on curing illness, tell yourself & family to attempt to let go of all negative feelings & focus on the positive out comes. We failed a few times but we’re all back on the path now.
Best of luck in our families travels!
Note, interesting to me I was listening to this earlier before I read your post. lol odd maybe, maybe not?
OKY, What a heartfelt comment. Thanks. You mentioned MD Anderson. My sister died of leukemia there in Houston in 2008. Both she and her husband thought and felt they got excellent care. They did a stem cell transplant. But, my dear sister also had lupus for decades and she had a horrible immune system.
What we have learned is that since 2008, and in great part in the last several years, there are a new generation of immunotherapy drugs. And, we are simpatico on the need for positive thoughts, turned into positive energy. Being a broken down baseball coach, that is my main role in this journey. My prayers for you and your family. You’re the kind of guy I would want on my side.
Nick – everyone needs a support team. Sometimes that is all you can do. 🙁
Paul, Indeed. “A man’s got to know his limitations.” Harry Callahan
Nick,
Excuse me, I’m worn a bit from yesterday’s battle yet I’ve gained power from the real people’s stories I heard then a CTCA.
What ever the outcome on a personal level I’ll be pimping/Marketing CTCA to others.
Nick it’s been nice for me for years to have had the opportunity to give my time freely to issues I care about & livelong enough to see results.
And the great part about it is as I gave all away all my work for free & I owe no Taxes! LOL.
Well, there go the food festivals.
Paul, I’m not sure the loss of a Brit food festival would be a loss.
Defenders of the British maintain that they’s satisfactory cooks…and terrible restaurateurs. Bangers, fish and chips, meat pies, desserts all glopped with custard and cream. I’ve been advised by a friend of the family who lives in Edinburgh to take a tour of the country and sample the local sausage available in each region.
Demoralize, disarm and defeat is the mantra of the Khan Fifth Column. Churchill understood the Wahhabi and even now must be twirling:
“How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity.
The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property—either as a child, a wife, or a concubine—must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the Queen: all know how to die. But the influence of the religion paralyzes the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science—the science against which it had vainly struggled—the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome. “
Winston Churchill, The River Wars.
mespo, Thanks for the Churchillian wisdom.
Always at my finger tips. De nada.
Good quote Mespo. This sentence from Churchill makes a very important point: Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities. I believe we see that in our society today regarding most people with authoritarian tendencies. As an individual, they are likely not much of a risk to others. But when allowed to join forces with others of the same mindset to use force against the rights of others, they are more dangerous as any individual could ever imagine.
The law is the organization of the natural right of lawful defense. It is the substitution of a common force for individual forces. And this common force is to do only what the individual forces have a natural and lawful right to do: to protect persons, liberties, and properties; to maintain the right of each, and to cause justice to reign over us all. Frederic Bastiat
Khan’s ban will force normally law-abiding citizens to choose to ignore the law or move among others without a means of self defense.
Yep, that wraps it up.
Knee-jerk totalitarianism. Nothing to see here. Same-ol’, same-ol’
I rely on my kung fu sticky hands technique. Maybe we can get something passed to stop that. Should be as effective as California gun laws.
Very soon near you farts could be forbidden.
Ghengis Khan needs to be knife attacked. Then he can defend himself with his wussy.
