According to police, Valiery Portlock’s career as a faux police officer came to a crashing end on a street in Hicksville, Long Island when he pulled over a van only to watch as real detectives stepped out of the vehicle. What happened next was

Nassau County police say that Portluck used his horn and emergency lights to pull over the van. It turned out to be full of detectives from the department’s electronics squad. After the detectives identified themselves and walked toward Portluck, the 25-year-old took off in his Nissan Sentra, including driving into oncoming traffic.

Portluck was eventually pulled over by real cops and given an array of real criminal charges, including criminal impersonation and reckless endangerment.

  1. Stupid? I think unlucky is a better description. On 2nd thought, maybe he was lucky that he was stopped before doing something really stupid like harming someone more vulnerable than a van load of cops. Hope this was his first attempt.
