Yesterday, there was an extraordinary — and defining — moment on MSNBC when host Nicole Wallace cut off coverage of President Trump’s press conference on the basis that the network did not agree with what he was saying about Joe Biden and his son’s controversial windfall contract with a Ukrainian energy company during the Obama Administration. Wallace simply declared Biden was cleared and that Trump was lying so there was no need for viewers to listen. It ignored any semblance of covering the news and MSNBC appears perfectly okay with a host regulating what viewers believe based on her view of what is true.
Wallace said that the President was just trying to deflect blame to Biden and that “We hate to do this really but the president isn’t telling the truth.” She added “These allegations against Joe Biden and Hunter Biden he’s repeating had been investigated by the Ukrainians…the Wall Street Journal included in their report on Friday that the Ukrainians view this issue as having been investigated and adjudicated.” However, that is not accurate.
In the transcript, the President of Ukraine says that they are taking a new look at prior investigation. More importantly, there are two concerns with Hunter Biden. One is the concern of whether Joe Biden knew that his actions may benefit his son. I am willing to believe that Biden was not aware of the potential investigation of his son’s company in the Ukraine. Yet, there is the other question of whether the Biden family cashed in on Biden’s positions in these convenient and ample contracts. Children and spouses of politicians are often given positions and contracts to influence them. These payments are more difficult to track and to address under anti-corruption laws. Now, there is the incredible suggestion that Hunter Biden has never (even to this day) discussed his business dealings with his father. Never. Hunter Biden has said that that is not true.
What has long been difficult for many of us to square is how China and the Ukraine searched the world over for the best possible person to handle almost $2 billion and they just happened to come up with the son of the Vice President of the United States, a world leader who happened to be coming to their countries with massive trade and aid plans. Hunter Biden was that much of an intellectual and finance genius from Asia to Europe and beyond?
Yet none of this matters. The question is the role of the media. If Wallace does not believe Trump, that is fine. However, the press conference was news as a president gave his side of a developing impeachment controversy. Some agree with his view of Biden and the controversy. MSNBC is saying that it will not prevent viewers to see statements are its views as untrue about Biden or Trump. That is highly disturbing for those of us who have written about the loss of objectivity in media coverage and legal analysis.
PELOSI on Obamacare (2010): “We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it.”
PELOSI on President Trump (2019): We have to impeach him so that we can find out what evidence justifies it.

Hey MSNBC, I woke up this morning with a smile on my face for the 1052nd straight day since you all cried on 11/8/16.
I am willing to believe that Biden was not aware of the potential investigation of his son’s company in the Ukraine.
Say what? Then you’re willing to believe Obama’s point man on all things Ukraine, who was hauling $1 billion in aid to Ukraine, with the power to withhold that aid based on his confidence that it would not end up supporting corruption, actually had no knowledge that the very company his son was on the board of had been, was or would be under investigation for corruption? And yet this apparently empty suit had all the power and authority to freeze $1 billion of our tax dollars if the Ukraine government did not fire Viktor Shokin, Ukraine’s prosecutor general?

This morning, MSNBC’s Morning Joe bought Schiff’s “parody” of the phone call hook, line and sinker.

TURLEY IS TRYING TO ‘BALANCE’ HIS OWN COVERAGE
Surely the Professor knows his recent columns have greatly upset Trump supporters. They don’t like bad news! And it outrages them when the professor validates mainstream media talking points.
So here Professor Turley is throwing a bone to the Trumpers; conceding that MSNBC was unfair to perpetual victim Donald Trump. Though one could argue mainstream media has enabled Donald Trump far longer than Trump ever deserved.
One must pause to ask ‘why’ Donald Trump is always full of grievances. Every time we hear from Trump he has a new grievance. Some institution or individual is always rankling him; like Jerome Powell and The Federal Reserve.
Powell was Trump’s appointee. The Fed has bent over backwards to accommodate Trump. The Fed may not have much room for cuts when a recession finally comes. Still Trump keeps bashing Powell. It’s totally irrational. But that’s Donald Trump.
Trump was trying to involve the Justice Department in military aid to a country that wants to be our ally. Which reminds us that Trump is only concerned with matters of personal vengeance. To that end Trump will compromise the Justice Department without a second thought.
Trump has weaponized the EPA in an effort to ‘get even’ with California. Trump has weaponized the Department of Agriculture and National Weather Service. Everyone gets burned by Trump!
But Ukrainian President Zelenksy was seemingly aware of Trump’s propensity to burn. That is, perhaps, the most interesting aspect of this matter; even the president of Ukraine was leery of Trump. Which makes us wonder what the world ‘really thinks’ of Trump.
Since Trump only wanted the Presidency for attention and adulation, I think that media should deny the junkie his heroin–they should simply stop putting his ugly, orange face on television, especially when he lies. He does everything possible to capture the most attention, but he won’t appear for real news conferences because he always ends up looking the fool that he is. And, as to MSNBC, if viewers wanted to hear Trump’s pathetic attempt to pivot away attention from his crimes, they could simply tune into Fox News. And, BTW, the “taking a new look” was the Ukrainian President’s attempt to save his country. Trump withheld the military aid appropriated by Congress to leverage Ukraine into trying to help his political campaign. The Ukrainians desperately needed the military aid to fight off Russia, which had already occupied the Crimea. Yesterday, Hannity tried to argue that investigating this Ukraine scandal “boomeranged”, and would result in the Bidens being in the hot seat. Truth is, Ukraine DID investigate, and found no wrongdoing until Trump started hammering them to reopen the investigation, just like he won’t take “no” for an answer on Hillary Clinton and the e-mails. Since the Ukraine already decided that Hunter Biden did nothing wrong, what Trump was really trying to do was get them to manufacture false evidence against him by withholding desperately-needed military aid, and then lying about the reason. Trump claimed that he held up aid because America paid more in assistance to Ukraine. That is a lie on its face.

On the other recent blog some questions were asked of Anon regarding Biden based on solid reporting and based on actual evidence some more that may be released today. He walked away from those questions because they are true but not to his liking. That is what MSNBC just did. The complaints were launched in December when Solomon and reporter Alison Spann broke a story under this headline: “Exclusive: Prominent lawyer sought donor cash for two Trump accusers.”
The gist of Solomon and Spann’s story: Prominent California lawyer Lisa Bloom worked to secure payments for women who “made or considered making sexual misconduct allegations against Donald Trump during the final months of the 2016 presidential race.” The story cited “documents and interviews,” plus the on-the-record explanations by Bloom herself.
The story impressed the conservative media world. Fox News host Sean Hannity called it a “bombshell report,” while conservative websites aggregated away. A New York Times story two weeks later noted that accuser-financing arrangements weren’t invented for the Trump era: Paula Jones’s harassment lawsuit against Bill Clinton received funding from the Rutherford Institute.
.Such context, complained staffers at The Hill, was missing from the Solomon-Spann effort, yielding a story that framed President Trump’s accusers as money-grubbing opportunists — and not so much, you know, as victims of sexual assault or misconduct. ….
…..A Solomon-Spann collaboration in October on the Uranium One deal lit up conservative media, with the aid of a plume of smoke and a warehouse full of mirrors. It appears to make the argument that the Justice Department quasi-covered up an important criminal case by . . . issuing a press release.

And about that Wall Street Journal article? Reilly and Baumann report that it was a story critical of Hillary Clinton, not of Trump — challenging the idea that the FBI officials were leaking against the eventual president. Nor does the fact that FBI officials know about a story in advance prove or even suggest leaking; many people in government agencies and in companies hear through the grapevine that a big story about their employer is about to drop.”

The problem is that for the past several years both Hannity and Solomon have been mostly correct whereas the Washington Post is mostly wrong. The Hill is not a conservative site and journalists get a pass for stupidity if they attack Hannity. Though you don’t realize it when Hannity produces evidence it is almost always real and his sources are excellent.He immediately appologizes when he is wrong.
Look at the other side of the coin. Nancy Pelosi couldn’t even wait 24 hours for a transcript of the discussion Trump had before she agreed to impeach him. Schiff didn’t like what the president of Ukrain said or the written reports so he claims a conspiracy theory. Your side of the coin sucks.

If Solomon made claims against President Trump without having provided a shred of evidence, the Left would not only have him as the lead story by the MSM, he’d be sitting in front of Congress testifying before Schiff’s committee to the truth of the matter.
But his claims support President Trump. So naturally the Left will denounce everything until Solomon produces the documents. And even then, it is a 100% guarantee not one Lefty mind will be convinced the documents exonerate Trump or indict Biden.

We already have enough information to determine that an investigation is warranted. You apparently didn’t read his entire piece that I posted nor have I yet seen on the blog your response to the one 2 paragraph issue I quoted.
Anon, You are just closing your eyes like you did with the Mueller report and can’t comment on the allegations and details that are already known today. Most people that can think might not conclude guilt but they would be somewhat suspicious over what occurred. 2 deals China and Ukraine both along with the Vice President. A board membership at a huge salary for a person without knowledge. A prosecuter fired coincidentally at the time he started to investigate Burissma nd Hunter, money following the route of laundered money, etc. You don’t think any of those things are suspicious?
