We have repeatedly discussed the bizarre claim of former Vice President Joe Biden that “no one has suggested my son has anything wrong.” Biden has lashed out at media for raising the dubious business dealings of his son during his tenure as vice president. That weird pathology of denial continued in an interview with Savannah Guthrie where he became clearly angry over the raising of this continuing controversy. Biden seems to expect the mainstream media to only ask such questions about the Trump family.
Guthrie actually framed the question in a clearly favorable light for Biden. Rather than treating the Biden matter as a legitimate concern (which it is), she asked about the “irony” of Trump raising such an issue. It was clearly not slanted enough for Biden who tried to end the discussion by saying “That’s a good thing and no one’s found anything wrong with his dealings with Ukraine except, that say it’s a bad image.”
What drew Biden’s ire was the audacity of Guthrie giving a follow up: “Do you agree that it sets a bad image?”
Biden responded “Yeah,” Biden said. “And my son said that.” But Guthrie persisted to ask if Biden feels that it was wrong given that his son was given the windfall contract because of his name and possible access to his father. That was when Biden got angry: “Well, that’s not true. You’re saying things you do not know what you’re talking about. No one said that. Who said that?”
When Guthrie tied to respond, Biden cut her off with “Who said that?”
That would be quite a list. Many have denounced this contract as blatant and corrupt influence peddling. Biden however continues to pretend that no one is raising this concern, which was a running narrative in the impeachment trial. Even Trump critics have acknowledged that this was an obvious effort at influence peddling.
There have long been complaints about those quid pro quo allegations where Joe Biden got that prosecutor fired by withholding $1 billion in US aid to Ukraine, and how it benefitted his problematic son.
The only reason why Joe Biden has such protection now is because he decided to enter the race for the Democratic nomination. If he hadn’t, what could Democrats have said about it? It’s been suggested that Joe Biden entered his candidacy right after Zelensky was nominated, pledging to fight corruption in Ukraine, because that was his only option to defend himself against the inevitable investigations to follow. The only way we’d ever know that for sure is if Biden or his inner circle started talking, and I don’t think they will.
As it is, the Democrats who had absolutely no problem whatsoever with a Democrat president Obama investing his political rival, Trump, have absolutely never heard of anything so egregious as investigating a Democrat political rival, warranted or not. No matter how justified the investigation, the party now infamous for never ending investigations against their own political rival will fight to the death to prevent a warranted one against their own candidate.
The hypocrisy is stunning, as is the complete and total suspension of logic by those Democrats defending this behavior.
I’ve often asked, why shouldn’t Joe Biden be investigated. No one can ever give me a cogent answer. The best they can do is to pretend that an investigation has already been completed and that Joe was found innocent. Which hasn’t happened.
Another theory is that Trump is so threatened by Joe Biden that he wanted Ukraine to dig up dirt (which is how they refer to an honest investigation into alleged criminal activity.) Why would Trump fear Biden? The guy doesn’t know where he is half the time, the baggage he carries is enormous, he actually does grope and smell women and little girls and has done so on camera, he is on record as claiming his surprise that Obama was such an articulate, well dressed black man…He would love to run against Biden or the socialist Bernie Sanders or the serial liar Elizabeth Warren. I can’t believe this is the best the DNC could scrape together after all these years moaning about Trump.
Biden’s out and so is Pokandhauntus for that idiot idea of passing a law that would make her the the first one arrested.followed by her entire, whats left of it party – pun intended. Whose left? Pun intended. No Body. No Body except a capable of funding his own race on his own neo aristocratic establishment type and perhaps the 40 San Francisco based richies that keep Barf Barf Benita Pelosi’s seat safe. But is it? She might get thrown out by her own party not just as speaker but as a seated member and end up a pale imitation of Adam Clayton Powell.
