We have previously discussed the efforts of the Democratic establishment and some in the media to (again) derail the presidential campaign of Sen. Bernie Sanders, including the raw bias against Sanders shown by CNN reporter Abby Phillip in a prior presidential debate. Now, with Sanders’ victory in New Hampshire and rising polls, figures from both politics and media are putting on a full-court press to stop Sanders. Everyone from James Carville to MSNBC’s Chris Matthews are sounding alarms over Sanders. His victory last night was called the “doomsday scenario” by a Democratic Super PAC. The most shocking was MSNBC anchor Chuck Todd who used a quote form a columnist to compare Sanders supporters to Nazi brown-shirted thugs. It is a technique used before by Todd who reads letters or quotes from others to preserve the patina of neutrality like his recent attack on Trump supporters.
Sanders is not just surging with young people but now surging in national polls ahead of the preferred candidate of the establishment, Joe Biden. On his show, Todd decided to curiously connect the Democratic Socialist with National Socialists in terms of his followers. Todd stated
“Hey I want to bring up something that Jonathan Last put in The Bulwark today. It was about how—and Ruth, we’ve all been on the receiving end of the Bernie online brigade—here’s what he says: He says ‘no other candidate has anything like this sort of digital brownshirt brigade. I mean, except for Donald Trump.’ . . . I know everybody’s freaking out about his, but you saw the MAGA rally that’s prepared around here,” Todd continued. “There are people coming from three or four states on that, that’s real… This is like Bernie.”
He is not alone. The coverage of Sanders remains slanted and negative. His victory is only begrudging acknowledged by some while immediately suggesting that he does not have broad base support.
What is interesting is how such biased reporting can cause a backlash. Many people resented how the media seemed in a uniform drumbeat for Hillary Clinton in 2016. For voters who want to see a challenge to the Washington establishment, the media bias only worked to the advantage of Donald Trump.
It may have the same impact in favor of Bernie Sanders. The fact is that voters like Sanders because he is viewed as authentic — something that they do not associate with either the establishment in politics or the media. The one thing you cannot say about Sanders is that he is scripted conventional politicians who like Biden and Clinton has changed many positions with the poll. It has never been popular to hold socialist views, but Sanders has remained. You have to respect him for that. Voters sense that he is exactly as he appears and not constantly reinvented by political handlers. That is why Chuck Todd and others are fueling, not deterring, support for Sanders.
If it were not for Federal entitlement programs (but don’t call them socialism), America’s seniors would perish. Baby-boomers cry foul when they hear of socialism seeking traction in America but in reality they depend on socialism to live in their senior years.
Baby boomers have failed in teaching their children, family and church / friends to care for them like not too long ago when multiple generations lived within close proximity or under the same roof
Their children have abandoned them, many locked away in nursing homes or ACLFs rarely visited. Seniors have spent 3x their “contributions” towards Medicare by age 70. With the multiple medical problems Americans have by age 50, by the time they reach 65, they are fiscal deficits spilling red ink. See WSJ article below.
Socialism is what keeps our seniors alive but they loathe calling it just that.
At least Sanders is honest.
Sanders is the logical choice

“Growing Risk to America’s Seniors: Themselves”
Government agencies attribute problem in part to isolation from families and communities
“Rising numbers of older adults are unable to care for themselves, often leading to serious health problems and even death, according to state and local government agencies.
So-called self-neglect cases generally involve the inability to perform essential self-care, such as providing oneself with food, shelter, personal hygiene, medication and safety precautions.”
“About one in four Americans age 65 and older, or 14.3 million, lived alone in 2017, according to government data, up 31% from 10.9 million people in 2007. Those age 60 and over spend more than 10 hours of their daily measured time by themselves, compared with less than five hours for people in their 40s and 50s, according to the Pew Research Center.”
“The federal government doesn’t have comparable data for previous years, but several state and local service providers say they are seeing the self-neglect problem swell, stretching their resources. Virginia’s county and city programs, for example, investigated 18% more self-neglect cases in 2019 than in 2015. In the District of Columbia, such cases rose by 60% between fiscal years 2016 and 2019, according to the D.C. Department of Human Services. Iowa saw a 55% increase between fiscal years 2017 and 2019, while Ohio counted 19% more between fiscal years 2014 and 2019, according to state officials.
Many professionals in the field believe the numbers understate the problem because just a fraction of self-neglect cases are reported as such. And they expect the figures to keep rising as the population ages and more seniors live alone.”
Socialism is what keeps Seniors alive, not their families, churches, neighbors, or Mespo’s river house gatherings
Mespo will consume his Medicare contributions once he retires with one hospital admission or ER visit past given his many medical issues
“ what the average senior receives in lifetime Medicare benefits is often far more than what they’ve paid into the program. Using the figures from 2010 once again ($180,000 in lifetime benefits for men and $207,000 for women), the average-wage worker pays just $61,000 in lifetime contributions into Medicare. This means average men and women are receiving $119,000 and $146,000 more, respectively, in lifetime benefits than they paid into the program. The Urban Institute estimates that by 2030, male retirees will receive $221,000 more in lifetime benefits than they paid into Medicare, while female retirees will take home $263,000 on top of what they contributed. This fundamental flaw behind Medicare makes fixing the program for the long term a daunting task.”

Some clown posting under “Seth Warner” is saying that Turley is a Republican. When I pointed out that he voted for Hillary and is a lifelong Democrat he asked for proof.

Clearly, “Seth Warner” is both dumb and completely ignorant. He(or it) is someone to regard with disdain.
Waal, he’s also on the record as believing that Rush Limbaugh is a ‘shock jock’.
Another of his gems is that state governments ‘cannot afford’ to build and maintain public works and ‘need’ a ‘muscular’ federal government to do it for them. Each state has a certain quantum of personal income to tax. The median value is as we speak $213 bn. The sum available to the set is precisely equal to the sum available to the federal government. Cue Barbie.
Tabby, Rush Limbagh describes himself as a “Shock Jock”. He has long-maintained that he is really an “Entertainer” and not a Journalist or Pundit.
what does one call Peter Shill who has more fake profile names than David Brock has enemies?
Hemorrhoids.
Barack Obongo-Congo???
There was Bar-ack, Barry and his “pseudonym” used to e-mail Hillary.
Tabby, Rush Limbagh describes himself as a “Shock Jock”. He has long-maintained that he is really an “Entertainer” and not a Journalist or Pundit.
You’ve confused Limbaugh with Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, who favor the clown-nose-on-clown-nose-off evasions.
Ivan, Turley doesnt say he voted for Hillary. He said he voted “Independent”.
Lies upon lies for all to see.
Turley has also testified to being a life-long Democrat while you claim he’s a Republican. You sure are dumb.
he actually claimed to have voted for hillary during testimony to the house hearings on impeachment where he also stated that in his opinion it was the house that was abusing it’s power.

We so hope the batsh!t crazy Dems in Congress keep doing what they have been doing these past 3 years. It is helping Trump, the GOP, Sanders and unifying Americans to despise anything remotely affiliated with the DNC.
Because acting stupid comes naturally to the hopelessly irrelevant donkey asses in Congress. Warren is just a LMAO type of shtick
🤪
“Congress must act immediately to rein in our lawless Attorney General,” tweeted Warren, D-Mass. “Barr should resign or face impeachment”

The media is biased toward power and the status quo. Not toward the right or the left.
Sanders doesn’t look so bad when compared to Dwight D. Eisenhower and Richard Nixon. Eisenhower had a top rate of more than 70%. Nixon was proposing almost exactly the same healthcare program as Sanders. Today we have socialized police, fire, EMS, public education and retirement benefits that most Americans favor. More recently 21st Century Republicans now cut taxes (reducing the nation’s revenue) but without paying for the tax cut, they put the spending our children’s credit card, handing the next generation the bill. Socialism for the rich.
Sanders is not worse than some of Eisenhower’s and Nixon’s policies but he probably scared a lot of voters in the way he talked about it. Sanders didn’t differentiate the USA’s version of socialism versus foreign authoritarian regimes, which probably scared many voters.
Ashcroft,
I think Nixon’s proposal focused on
requiring employers to provide health insurance, with a contribution from employees to pay for part of the cost.
When Nixon made that proposal, almost 50 years ago, U.S. per capita health care spending was a tiny fraction of what it is today.
I would guess around $400 per person. That figure is about $11,000 today.
General inflation can be blamed for part of that increase, but only a relatively small part. ( If the overall cost of living is 7 times what it was in 1970, and health care costs tracked the CPI, those costs would be about $2800 today, not $11,000).
Most of the proposals involving reform to health care spending involve “more insurance coverage”, or “subsidies” to make insurance more affordable, or something similar to Sen. Sanders “Medicare for all”.
If the costs of Bernie’s proposal is currently estimated to be $30- $40 Trillion Dollars over the next ten years, I would bet that the actual costs will be 50-100% higher than that estimate.
Every estimate that was made made for future costs of government health care programs (primarily MediCare and MediCaid) when they were established wildly underestimated what these programs would cost in the future.
“MediCare for All’ would require massive tax increases (or far greater deficits if it was put “on the credit card”), rationing/ reduction of benefits, etc.
Anyway, given circumstances and costs today, I don’t think the “Nixon of 2020” would propose what the “1970 Nixon” actually proposed.
https://images.app.goo.gl/VZuYMUS4hd7WsSau5
This chart gives a good picture of the increase in per capita health care spending over the past 50 years.
( I previously underestimated the current per capita spenting at $11,000).
Come July, I predict that we will only be able to watch the 2020 Democratic Convention via Pay-Per-View (Boxing?!) and/or Sports on Demand. So, avoid the summer rush! Rent your Margarita machines and popcorn poppers today!
And those of you with Barco-loungers might want to check the springs…….and add seatbelts!
It would be a travesty if it was Washington but the city can’t speak so what it sounds like is a bunch of wanna be leftists who can’t cut the mustard and therefore are threatening a true socialist. We know what Sanders is and isn’t it’s those pretend to be Democrats and worse pretend to be citizens that are more the problem. Either way it all helps to strip the Phony Party of it’s chances to survive past 2020 and will make it easier to the Constitutional Republic Party and the Constitutional Centrists to prevail while allowing the true Independent Constitutional Democrats a chance to form a real second party devoid of the Marxist Leninists.
Not to worry!
Sorry, Bernie.
The backstop is the U.S. Constitution, if one would simply take the time to read it. Comrade Bernie and his Marxist, communist legions may want it, but they cannnnn’t have it!
Article 1, Section 8, precludes taxation for redistribution of wealth or charity. Congress is provided the power to tax for “…general Welfare…,” deliberately omitting and, thereby, excluding, any power to tax for individual or specific welfare, or for charity.
Article 1, Section 8, enumerates the power to regulate only the “value” of “money,” the flow of commerce among nations, states and Indian tribes (to preclude bias or favor by one jurisdiction over another) and “…land and naval Forces,” deliberately omitting and, thereby, excluding any and all other powers to regulate any activity, endeavor or, otherwise, free enterprise or product or service thereof. Industries intuitively, rationally and logically self-regulate to preclude judgements, awards, bankruptcy and insolvency through litigation in the courts.
Additionally, the right to private property in the 5th Amendment is not qualified and is, therefore, absolute. Congress has no power to interfere with, possess or dispose of, or claim or exercise dominion over private property.
The Constitution provides maximal freedom to individuals while severely limiting and restricting government. Government exists, not to dictate, but solely to facilitate the maximal freedom of individuals.
Karl Marx wrote the Communist Manifesto 59 years after the adoption of the Constitution because none of the principles of the Communist Manifesto were in the Constitution. Had the principles of the Communist Manifesto been in the Constitution, Karl Marx would have had no reason to write the Communist Manifesto. The principles of the Communist Manifesto were not in the Constitution then and the principles of the Communist Manifesto are not in the Constitution now.
The entire American welfare state is unconstitutional including, but not limtied to, affirmative action, quotas, welfare, food stamps, rent control, social services, forced busing, minimum wage, utility subsidies, WIC, TANF, HAMP, HARP, Agriculture, Commerce, Education, Labor, Energy, Obamacare, Social Security, Social Security Disability, Social Security Supplemental Income, Medicare, Medicaid, “Fair Housing” laws, “Non-Discrimination” laws, etc.
Someone please inform the judicial branch, with emphasis on the Supreme Court. Tell them they are in America under the dominion of the “manifest tenor” of the U.S. Constitution. Alternatively, America could impeach them en masse for subversion, insurrection and treason (challenging the authority of the Sovereign, the People, the Constitution). Oh, and you might add that we speak English and have absolutely no need for interpretation or an interpreter.
To wit,
“…courts…must…declare all acts contrary to the manifest tenor of the Constitution void.”
“[A] limited Constitution … can be preserved in practice no other way than through the medium of courts of justice, whose duty it must be to declare all acts contrary to the manifest tenor of the Constitution void. Without this, all the reservations of particular rights or privileges would amount to nothing … To deny this would be to affirm … that men acting by virtue of powers may do not only what their powers do not authorize, but what they forbid.”
– Alexander Hamilton
I like your use of the word “maximal.” I’ve been looking for years for some means of expressing this – some maximum of freedom to some maximum of people, but the word escaped me. Also like your “59 years…”
You can vote your way into Socialism, but you will have to shoot your way out! Just look at what it has done to Cuba, just 90 miles south of Key West Florida. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fz6VJK3mS08
This is all a set-up for Bloomberg to buy he party and be the candidate.
Soros had been the bigges supporter of the ultralefts driving the Democrats party into full blown Marxism. But this is a suicidal course since America is thriving as a capitalist country, especially since Trump has focused policies on benefitting America not the multinationals. So Bloomberg has to come in as the face of the multinational corporations who are the normal funders of almost all the Democrats in Congress and running for President and boot out the Sanders and Warren ultralefts, fund the party so they can outspend Trump, and return the country to spending our lives and treasures bankrupting ourselves to make the world safe for multinationals even as we return to exporting our jobs and future to China. THIS is the real issue.
Wrong. See above.
You may have wanted to say that anti-American enemies among Americans can corruptly and forcibly impose communism on America by retaining a subversive, insurrectionist and treasonous judicial branch and Supreme Court that fail to “…declare all acts contrary to the manifest tenor of the Constitution void.”
Well, what do we do now because America has been under total communism since Comrade “Crazy Abe” Lincoln was converted by communists exiled from Germany to Illinois and eliminated “classes” from American society, starting with the slave class. It’s been all down hill since then – progressively downhill. I doubt shooting our way out will do. We’ll have to call in the the Cobras, 175 Howitzers, Puff the Magic Dragon, Warthogs, the B-52’s and the ICBM’s with “danger close” support.
None of the Democrats can beat Trump.

“Van Jones: Let’s Be Real, None of These Democrats Can Beat Trump
It’s been less than 24-hours since former Democrat frontrunner Joe Biden placed fifth in the New Hampshire primary, producing panic among the “moderates” in the Party that his candidacy might be over. From POLITICO:
“This is horrendous. We’re all scared,” said a Biden adviser, speaking anonymously because the comments conflict with the brave public face the campaign is trying to broadcast. “I think we’re going to make it to South Carolina. I know we’re supposed to say we’re going to and we’re going to win. But I just don’t know.”
Despite his first place showing, communist Bernie Sanders had a lower turnout than expected. He performed worse against his current rivals than he did against Hillary Clinton in 2016. Another bad sign.
As the results came in Tuesday night, former Obama administration official and CNN host Van Jones poured cold water over the chances any candidate in the Democrat field can actually beat President Trump in a general election.
“It just feels like everybody is partially able to take on Trump but not really,” Jones said. “There is no one candidate yet that feels, that everybody feels can actually go up against [Trump] and beat him.”
Sounds like despair and chaos in the Democrat camp are taking their toll.
Now’s a good chance for rank and file Democrats, to get behind Trump! Help support his strong presidency against mischief from globalists and billionaires alike! IF you think he’s drifted too far right, get involved and help give a stronger voice to the workers’ interests.
Bernie should be crushed. He’s a Commie skunk. I don’t care who does the actual crushing.
Commies like Bernie and those idiots that support him have no place in the USA.
A lot of young people are inspired by the message of social solidarity, and I’m sure most of them have good intentions.
We need to re-educate the youth, and not demonize them for being lead by the nose by our public school-fool systems. Young people have a good place in the future Republic guided by POTUS Donald J Trump!

Born in the Bronx, married 45 years, worked hard and went to school at night. I am now retired with a six figure income, and a net worth of a couple a million. I either play golf or go crabbing most mornings. The rest of the day is spent with friends and family. I know Bloom thinks I am a terrible person who doesn’t feel his pain, and he is half right. I couldn’t Give a hoot about his pain!
Oh well, time for a frosty adult beverage, and a game of cards on the beach.
I would be happy to get back the money I paid into Medicare.

He may as well concern himself with his shadow on the wall. Too late. Most of our youth have been indoctrinated since middle school. They will only change with age as most will see their earnings and rights erode. Then they will look to conservatism. I did.
“Sen. Bernie Sanders’ (I-Vt.) closest presidential rival is no one at all.”
“After Sanders’ win in Tuesday’s New Hampshire primaries, FiveThirtyEight’s projection bumped his chances of winning the Democratic presidential nomination up to 37 percent, or about one in three. Former Vice President Joe Biden is the next closest candidate with a distant 17 percent chance — but the possibility of a brokered convention is actually giving Sanders a run for his money. That outcome, which leaves the Democratic National Convention with no clear headliner, has a 36 percent chance of becoming reality, FiveThirtyEight forecasts.”

Sanders Tuesday ‘Victory’ Underwhelming’
Given that the progressive wing (Sanders plus
Warren) managed to get about 35 percent of the vote on Tuesday while the moderates totaled more than 52 percent, it is clear that the majority of the party is not eager to enter a political suicide pact with a self-described socialist promising a revolution.
As the front-runner, Sanders should also expect to take fire for breaking his promise to release all of his medical records. He is 78 and had a heart attack in October. The party has every right to know precisely the state of his health. If he wins the nomination without full disclosure, be prepared for the Trump campaign (which portrayed Hillary Clinton at death’s door when she came down with the flu) to portray Sanders with one foot in the grave. This is certainly a valid electability issue.
Edited From: “Bernie Sanders Has Some Problems”
Today’s Washington Post

The Buttigieg and Klobucher totals indicate a strong ‘Never Bernie’ faction.
Billionaire Bloomberg probably entered the race just to stomp on Bernie. It will be worth whatever money he puts into it to stop him.
Probably the other billionaires backing Butt i gieg don’t appreciate the counterproductive efforts, however
Mikey’s too vain to care …. plus he wants gun control
I heard a bernie bro saying he wants to buy an AK 47– have at it dude, they’re plenty good ones on the market! semi auto only of course., I would pick the Arsenal builds over the Century ones any day of the week however.
If they’re betting a brokered convention, their model isn’t worth sh!t. The last two conventions to run more than one ballot were held in 1948 and 1952, respectively. Ten of the 14 conventions held during the period running from 1928 to 1952 had just one ballot as well.
TURLEY COMES OUT ALL THE WAY..
AS HONORARY BERNIE BRO
Yesterday, in the column concerning Bloomberg’s Stop & Frisk, I noted that Professor Turley is an Honorary Bernie Bro. And today, with this column, Turley absolutely confirms it.
Honorary Bernie Bros are Trump-supporting Republicans who know Bernie Sanders is a George McGovern in waiting. Bernie has strong support from ‘energized’ Millennials who aren’t actually real Democrats. But Bernie’s support is weak among registered, loyal Democrats. A great combination for landslide defeat! No wonder Turley loves Bernie.
The bulk of these ‘energized’ Millennials are kids who think they hate the DNC. They are fond of posting comments like, “There’s no difference between Democrats and Republicans. Two sides of the same coin”.
Bernie Bros were so totally focused on defeating Hillary, they never found time to attack Donald Trump. And they haven’t changed since 2016. Bernie Bros are currently attacking every Democrat challenging Bernie.
Pete Buttigieg, in particular, is now intensely hated by Bernie Bros. Any supporter of Buttigieg has to be a ‘racist’. Though I have no doubt that Amy Klobuchar is currently surging as a Bro target. One can be sure they will heap scorn on Klobuchar in the days ahead.
So ‘yes’, NBC’s Chuck Todd was correct in reading that letter referencing Bernie Bros as ‘Brown-shirted thugs’. Bernie Bros are basically Trumpers in reverse: ‘Leftists who think only Bernie can fix it’. Bernie Bros think nothing of subjecting Democrats to purity tests and pronouncing them ‘unfit as liberals’.
This election year has barely begun and already several Bernie Bros have told me I flunked their purity tests. I’m really a Republican, according to these Bros. It’s like a bad movie from 4 years ago that’s returned to the big screens.
Curiously the Bermie Bros have never considered the consequences of their purity tests. Am I supposed to actually ‘vote Republican’ having flunked? Should I stay home on Election Day? Or am I supposed to vote for Bernie even the Bros insult me?
This brings us back to Professor Turley and his totally disengenous sympathies for Bernie. Of course he wants the Bernie Bos alienating Democrats!! From a Republican perspective, Bernie Sanders is a time bomb in the Democratic camp. Bernie Bros are quarantined to become the most bitter of sour apples.
Turley’s a Republican? Is that why he voted for Hillary and has always voted for the Dems? You’re talking out of your ass.
Ivan, show me proof that Turley voted for Hillary.
how us proof you voted for hillary! show us proof of voting at all. don’t pretend anybody has it one way or another.
Kurtz, Ivan is pretending. So why are you hassling me???
You sure are dumb and ignorant. He TESTIFIED that he doesn’t support Trump and voted for Hillary.
You didn’t watch him testify during the impeachment. You are talking about things you know nothing about. You are talking out your ass.
Wow: thanks! I’ve always wondered why liberal voices tend to sound so muffled.
“Bernie has strong support from ‘energized’ Millennials who aren’t actually real Democrats.”
“Bernie Bros think nothing of subjecting Democrats to purity tests and pronouncing them ‘unfit as liberals’. ”
LOL
“Pete Buttigieg, in particular, is now intensely hated by Bernie Bros. Any supporter of Buttigieg has to be a ‘racist’.”
PETE BUTTIGIEG IS NO RACIST
however, black people in his bailiwick don’t like him. that’s fair to say. why? is complicated.
that doesn’t prove he’s a racist.
” Though I have no doubt that Amy Klobuchar is currently surging as a Bro target. One can be sure they will heap scorn on Klobuchar in the days ahead.”
I want to give a shout out to Anon1, who was banned, though presumably he has a new user name by now, for calling it many months ago, that Klobuchar would have a good chance. She’s a coming contender!
Since he quit the race yesterday, I want to thank ANDREW YANG for speaking to the public on the subject of “Fourth industrial revolution” and the social dislocation caused by robotics and coming AI. A very constructive candidacy! I hope this theme won’t be forgotten, the interests of the workers matter!
Booty-gag’s homosexuality is something deemed coolio by the gentry liberal types who provide financing and votes in Democratic primaries. That’s a big reason Booty-gag – the mayor of a 4th tier city – is a viable presidential candidate. Another is the Ivy League fetish in the Democratic Party. For a great many people, these aren’t selling points. They see homosexuality as clownish, gross, sketchy, or as a matter to which one needn’t refer, and they don’t give a rip about the Ivy League and may view layers of such degrees with an eye roll.
A lot of Bernie supporters are idealistic youths, who are not aware of the promising future economic prospects offered under the leadership of President Donald J Trump. They’ve been mislead by academia and the mass media.
The same oligarchic combine that demonizes Trump, is again ginning up to demonize Bernie. Of course they can smell it too, and resent it!
That said, the nutty guys that O Keefe surreptitiously taped, do need some firm re-education, in exactly the same ways they presume to impose it on others.
“FBI struggles to confront right-wing terrorism”

more bull. like operation patcon from decades ago, most of the “terror” arrests of right wingers was provoked by government informations in the first place
it’s kind of like when the cops cruise for hookers, offer women money for sex, and then don’t arrest themselves for their end of the transaction
I could write a book on this but the books that have been written, are mostly ignored anyways since the press believes that there’s a hood and a noose under every red hat, just waiting to emerge
Seth did say one thing that’s interesting. Purity tests! They’re a plague on all social-political organizing.
“Purity spiraling” is a real thing. It’s been totally rejected by the Trump movement! It’s a big tent with a lot of room for different kinds of people. We welcome your support, Seth! Moderate Democrats Americans will reap the benefits of America first, too!
A weak president in place, like Buttigieg, with little experience in men’s affairs, will be a danger to the country as a whole. Bernie is a canny politician, I would take him over Pete, in spite of his apparent radicalism. The backing of the financial faction for Buttigieg should be a subject of concern. If the movie “Mr Smith goes to Washington” is past prophecy, trust me, Pete is no Jimmy Stewart! He wont buck his backers in the end.
Klobuchar has far more experience. She could moderate the factions. Even Bloomberg would be ok. The tendency among billionaires overall however is to elevate a weak candidate through money and PR expertise. I would bet most billionaires don’t like Mikey’s stunt endangering the prospects of their handpicked weak horse, Pete.
This is what they did with Obama. Obama was inexperienced. But America actually lucked out, because Obama ended up being neither as radical as he talked, nor, as easily manipulated by globalism, as they might have expected. To a point yes. But not a disaster. Some bad trends that got worse, certainly did not start with him, and he was in little position to stop them.
Unfortunately, in foreign policy, he lost energy to stand up against the scheming of Hillary and her Saudi backers who wanted to foment endless mischief against Shiite rivals in the middle east.
Politics is the art of the possible.
For example, Trump is aligned with Saudis too; but he’s pulled back from their crazy scheme to overthrow Assad, and their desire for general war against Iran, even as he gave the Iranians a firm warning by assassinating Sulemani. He’s deconflicted with Russia, even though he’s gone along with a certain amount of new sanctions on them, and military pressure on them in Ukraine. He’s actually quite moderate!
Trump is very smart, and a stable genius he definitely is! We’re safer with a strong and independent leader in Trump, even if he says silly stuff on Tweeter.
Mr. Kurtz,
I would question your claim that Buttigeig has little experience in “men’s affairs”.😉
