We had breaking news Thursday night: Joe Biden is proud of his son Hunter. After a blackout on the Hunter Biden scandal before the election, it often seems as if the media is struggling to offer the appearance of coverage without actually asking questions that could be damaging for the president-elect.
That view of many was reinforced in the first interview with Biden about his son since the November election. It was conducted by CBS’ Stephen Colbert, host of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” Biden has refused to answer questions on the expanding scandal surrounding his son’s China connections so this was a big deal. However, the president-elect’s team arranged for the all-important question to be asked by a comedian on a late-night show.
CBS is filled with hugely talented reporters who were left as pedestrians watching this fawning interview.
There was something not quite right about what unfolded on Thursday night. It was like the New York Met’s starting pitcher Jacob DeGrom and the Cleveland Indian’s Shane Bieber watching from the dugout as Dr. Anthony Fauci takes the mound as the starter in a season opener. The only difference is that this was clearly designed to be both the opener and closer for the media.
I have never had a reporter in private question whether this was an influence-peddling scheme or the Biden family’s history of using public office to enrich themselves. Indeed, it was once an open joke.
When Joe Biden pushed to put his entirely unqualified son Hunter on the board of Amtrak, the only justification that Democratic Senator Tom Carper of Delaware could come up with in Committee was that Hunter Biden was qualified because “Hunter Biden has spent a lot of time on Amtrak trains.” It was like appointing him to a top Food and Drug Administration board because he “eats a lot.”
The Colbert interview was an utter embarrassment. Colbert gently raised the scandal and immediately framed it in terms of Republicans seeking to use it against Joe Biden.
PRESIDENT-ELECT JOE BIDEN: We have great confidence in our son.
JILL BIDEN: Uh-huh.
JOE BIDEN: I am not concerned about any accusations that have been made against him. It’s used to get to me. I think it’s kind of foul play, but, look, it is what it is. And he’s a grown man. He is the smartest man I know. I mean, in pure intellectual capacity. And as long as he’s good, we’re good.
STEPHEN COLBERT: As a father, I understand that, and – and – and I – I admire that. But, I mean, in terms of your job as president, you can reach across the aisle to people who will be using this as an attack on you when it is such a personal attack because it’s about family?
JOE BIDEN: But if it benefits the country, yes. I really mean it.
Later, the president-elect’s team sought to spin the reference to “foul play” to say that Biden was referencing a long history of political attacks.
However, so was Trump when he attacked the Russian collusion investigation as part of a campaign against him.
In fairness to Trump, those collusion allegations collapsed early in the investigation and now all of the top Justice Department figures from James Comey to Sally Yates to Rosenstein say that they would not have approved the Carter Page surveillance if they knew then what they know today about the flawed basis for the investigation.
There is comparably far more evidence supporting the investigation of Hunter Biden.
Moreover, Biden was clearly referring to this investigation when he said “I think it’s kind of foul play, . . . it is what it is.”
This follows Biden’s repeated assertion that his son “did nothing wrong,” a claim that I and others have long challenged.
Even if you believe Hunter cannot be charged with a crime, the criminal code is not the only measure of wrongdoing. This was raw influence-peddling on a global scale. It was wrong in its own right.
What was most embarrassing about the Colbert interview is the careful avoidance of any specific or substantive question. It was the ultimate “Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?” interview.
Colbert framed the investigation in strictly political terms and how it affects Biden as a father and candidate. Moreover, this is not just about Hunter Biden. It is also about the president-elect Biden and whether he lied about his knowledge of the dealings and whether he knew about an influence-peddling scheme using his position. Either witnesses like former Hunter Biden business associate Tony Bobulinski are lying or Joe Biden is lying.
Bobulinski has given his allegations to the FBI under threat of prosecution. Biden has never uttered a word about Bobulinski.
There was not a single question from Colbert on Thursday about how emails and witnesses, if true, would reveal that Biden has knowingly and repeatedly lied. To date, he has denied any knowledge of the son’s business dealings.
Hunter Biden himself contradicted his father on that point but that was not enough to ask Joe Biden about his past denials.
Likewise, Bobulinski, (who Hunter Biden showers with praise in the emails related to SinoHawk Holdings) contradicts Joe Biden in detailed accounts for their discussions of the dealings. Not a single question.
Email exchanges repeatedly reference Joe Biden while telling people not to use his name in writing. Not a single question.
Joe Biden and Jill Biden were listed as office mates with one of the Chinese figures with a need for their own keys to the office. No question.
Hunter Biden is shown in emails conversing about loans and dealings with the entire “Biden family.” Not a single question.
Instead, the breaking news from Thursday’s interview is that Biden is proud of his son Hunter.
Now that I think about it, the selection of a late-night comedian for this interview was the perfect choice.
I support investigating both the Bidens and the Trumps. Do you also support that, Mr. Turley?

Without an audit these machines and the people who are entangled with them can never be trusted.
If all is innocent with them, and it might be, do the audit and settle the issue. Without the audit the issue will be a putrid sore in the heart of every election.
You can hand count the ballots without a machine audit.
Maybe. But wouldn’t you like to know if the machines are cheating or are open to cheating? If it is possible it will happen sooner or later.
You can tell whether the machines are cheating by checking the machine count against a hand count.
But you can’t tell if they are vulnerable to cheating. That needs to be known.
Some of the machine counts vs hand counts haven’t been going well in some states.
The hand count audit in Maricopa County matched the machine count exactly, so there’s no evidence of cheating in November.
They can check vulnerability to future cheating, but the lawsuit over the AZ Senate’s subpoenas has to be decided first.
That sounds reasonable if true.
The corruptibility of the voting machines is not the only issue. Of equal (and possibly greater) concern is the authenticity of the ballots that were fed into the machines. A recount does *nothing* to check whether a paper ballot is counterfeit. And there is oodles of evidence of counterfeit, paper ballots.
(Before someone demands: “Prove it.” I am not your unpaid research assistant. Do your own investigation. All it requires is a bit of effort, and honesty.)
It does bother me that the media is downplaying this issue. I cannot understand why they do not find it newsworthy. I am not saying either Biden has done wrong, but to not report it in the news is beyond the pale. This is the same media that had no issue reporting about a potential tape of Trump being urinated on. The same media that ran with Russian collusion even after it fell apart. If these are news worthy, why not potential corruption?

So instead of looking at what may a true story, you would rather focus on anything else? Trying to ignore this is not going to be helpful in the long run. This is being investigated and it just may be the real deal. Does it not bother you that the media is truly downplaying the story? They should at least treat it with same intensity that was done for Trump. If Hunter is corrupt and Joe is innocent, then it needs to come out. If neither are corrupt, then it certainly needs to come out. If both are corrupt, then it has to move forward.
Blaming Trump or Professor Turley does not preclude bad behavior by either, neither, or one of the Biden’s.
Let this run its course to the end and see where it ends up.

A construction worker who died after plunging from a 10-foot ladder in Croatia was actually killed by the coronavirus, doctors said in a report. The unnamed 51-year-old man fell into a yard while building a home earlier this year and suffered cuts and bruises to his head, according to the Journal of Forensic Pathology. The builder was declared dead at the scene, but an autopsy later revealed that COVID-19 had indirectly caused the accident because effects of the illness were disorienting, the journal notes. During the autopsy, doctors found that large swaths of the man’s lungs were blocked. The finding led scientists to conclude that he suffered from acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) — a life-threatening condition that can be caused by COVID-19. “Based on all findings, the death was ruled as natural, caused by COVID-19,” the report notes. The man also tested positive for the virus. Doctors later determined that the illness, which keeps air from flowing to the lungs, had likely caused his fall, according to the journal.
Ultimately, the death must be recorded as a COVID-19 fatality under World Health Organization guidelines, scientists said.

Hell, yes. Why on earth would any rational person believe Trump could win the presidency? He: 1. lost the popular vote in 2016; 2. never captured even a 50% approval rating, which is a record in the history of presidential polling; 3. singlehandedly destroyed the successful economy inherited from Barak Obama, who turned around the worst economy since the Great Depression (as of that time); 4. intentionally lied to the American people about the seriousness of the pandemic (consult the Woodward tapes if you don’t believe me); now we have daily new records for deaths and infections; 5. is a chronic, habitual liar; 6. caged migrants and their children like animals for seeking asylum in the U.S.; 7. called Mexicans “rapists”, “criminals”, “murderers” and “vermin” while praising White Supremacists; 8. was impeached by the House of Representatives and 48 U.S. Senators voted to remove him from office; 9. sided against American intelligence and with Putin on the matter of Russian interference in 2016.
You would have to believe that the majority of states allowed cheating to happen, but Trump isn’t trying to change the votes in all of the states that went for Biden: just those with Republican legislatures. See, the plan was claim fraud and then get them to set aside the votes in their states and award the electors to the Electoral College to Trump, which would invalidate the votes for all down ballot candidates, too. Trump fired Chris Krebs and Bill Barr because they refused to go along with his baseless claims of election fraud. There is simply no evidence to support this claim.
The only reason any of these people believe the election was “stolen” is because Fox News keeps harping on it, Trump keeps harping on it, and Trump has bullied several Republican members of Congress and Republican attorneys general to go along with this baseless claim and even to sign on to the frivolous appeal to the SCOTUS–“the big one”. It flopped due to lack of evidence. This was the most heavily-monitored election in US history. Dozens of Courts, including the SCOTUS, have ruled, repeatedly, there’s no evidence of fraud. Why would any rational person believe Trump over Barr, Krebs and the SCOTUS? Where’s the proof?

Most people find it hard to believe that Joe Biden got the most votes in the history of elections in our country. Old Joe got more votes than Barack Obama did in 2008 when we had the first black man on the ticket and voters came out in droves like never before? Senile old Joe with his corrupt as hell family blew Obama’s record out of the water and got the all time record, ever, in the hisory of the country, with 80 million votes? Yeah, no. There’s mountains of evidence the courts will not hear and the media will not report. Even Democrats believe the election was stolen. More than 70% of Republican voters consider the 2020 election results illegitimate and 30% of independent voters call the election results illegitimate. America, we have a problem.
Joe Biden won the least amount of counties in the history of elections. Trump won all the bellwether counties. Trump got more than 12 million new voters from his 2016 win. Trump more than doubled his numbers of Hispanic voters. Trump gained big on the Black vote. On and on the stats show the math doesn’t add up for a Biden blowout. Fraud explains it.
There is no evidence of widespread fraud, only a small number of isolated cases.
