Fox is reporting that Michael Cohen was back on TikTok last night using the Trump trial to troll for dollars. Cohen reportedly appeared in a teeshirt showing Trump in an orange jumpsuit and asked for more followers. He also reportedly announced his candidacy for Congress, which would allow him to take one of the seemingly few oaths that the serial perjurer has not violated.
Who would have thought that District Attorney Alvin Bragg calling a porn star to the stand would be the moral high ground for key witnesses? Next could be a disbarred, convicted perjurer who is still seeking to make money off the case.
Cohen previously pledged not to discuss the trial after many of us objected to Judge Juan Merchan’s gag order as unconstitutional, particularly as to Cohen who has continued to attack Trump on the air while defending the gag order for his own protection.
Cohen’s prior promise lasted a record of a couple days before he broke it on TikTok. Now he is appearing with a teeshirt mocking Trump and using the moment to pursue a congressional seat.
For Judge Merchan, this is precisely what he was warned about. He has stubbornly enforced his poorly written and excessively broad order. After admitting that this was a “case of first impression” on the extension of gag orders to such things as repostings on social media, Merchan clarified his meaning not with a new order but by imposing sanctions on Trump.
Trump is now appealing the gag order and Cohen is doing his best to undermine not just his residual credibility but that of the court. Between the lurid testimony of Daniels and the continued antics of Cohen, Merchan looks completely feckless, if not farcical, in his own courtroom.
For Merchan and the prosecutors, none of this can come as a surprise.
There is an old fable of a scorpion who wants to cross a river and convinced a hesitant frog to carry him on its back. After all, if he stung the frog in the river, they both would die. That seemed logical so the frog agreed to do so only to have the scorpion deliver a lethal sting halfway across. When the frog asked why the scorpion would doom them both, the scorpion replies: “I am sorry, but I couldn’t resist the urge. It’s in my nature.”
Cohen has always been open as a grifter.
The problem is not Cohen. He continues to act to his nature. The problem is a political and legal system that enables him as a serial liar. It is a system that continues to call Cohen to the stand and ask him to swear to God to offer the “truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth” without a signature joke drum roll before his punchline.
Yet, Cohen now wants to take an oath of office in the legislative branch. He seems to collect oaths the way some collect animal heads for a trophy wall. The question is whether other members could suppress laughter when he swears that he is taking the oath of office “without… purpose of evasion.”

It’s probably the last of your many hit jobs on Cohen–although maybe you will have another column just before Cohen testifies. Anything new in your columns that we don’t know already about Cohen? Nope. You have already struck out on all your other claims about the trial–e.g., that Justice Merchan’s gag order is “unconstitutional”. So now you are at your final at bat–hoping to hit a home run by attacking Cohen.
The brilliance DA Bragg’s presentation of his case in chief is that he didn’t start off with Cohen. He laid the foundation for Cohen’s testimony by presenting documentary and witness testimony, e.g., David Pecker, Hope Hicks and others who laid out in detail the conspiracy to pay off Stormy Daniels, Karen McDougal and the doorman. All that evidence has already established the crimes of DJT. Cohen has the audio tapes of his many phone conversations with DJT–when and how to pay off Daniels. He will be the icing on the cake!
Naturally, DJT’s attorneys will try to portray Cohen as a “serial liar”: “If you lied and went to prison for those lies why should the jury now believe you?”. Only one problem. Cohen’s testimony will be CONSISTENT with all the docs and witness testimony that came before. Fortunately, the jury will decide whether to believe Cohen. Not anything you have claimed in your many columns!

I’m not sure who you represent or report to but in my reading your comments demonstrate the fear that people (and Dems in particular) have of Professor Turley’s analysis of all aspects of this and other cases.
Prior to 2016 I was an independent but converted when faced with the prospect of President Hillary. As such I look for input from people who don’t have “skin in the game”. Professor Turley has been my go to guy and one of the very few that I trust for several reasons:
First, he is a renowned Constitutional scholar. He is from a politically active Democrat family and is himself a lifelong Democrat. While we come from different political viewpoints it demonstrates his ability to speak truth over politics. He is not a Trump fan, but he is a huge fan of the constitution and the rule of law as demonstrated in his participation in the first impeachment attempt. That shows real character despite the inevitable vitriol he would receive from partisans like yourself.
From comments like yours it is clear that partisans like yourself fear people from your side of the aisle who are willing to speak the truth as much or more than the scary orange man.
FYI, the TikTok he references has been widely reported on news outlets. Not watching it doesn’t make it less real. Nice try. Better luck next time🙄
Well, Turley didn’t put a link to the video Cohen produced to allegedly Mock Trump. That says a couple of things. Since it is being “reported” he apparently isn’t keen on the details of what was actually said in the tik tok.
Wearing a T-shirt to mock Trump would hardly be proof that he’s talking about the trial. Turley is insinuating a lot without much to back it up and that seems sketchy. The gag order is specific on what can and cannot be said. It’s also a gag order against trump, not the witnesses. Cohen is not the defendant in the criminal trial, Trump is. So a gag order applying to him does not necessarily apply to Cohen.
Turmp has a gag order imposed because he has a very clear and detailed history of trying to muddle up the order imposed by a judge and he has a history of intimidating witnesses or letting his supporters do the dirty work for him. Cohen knows, because he used to do it for Trump for years.
Until we know what Cohen said in his tik tok video we can’t judge if he really violated the judge’s gag order or spoke about the case in a way that would be damaging.
Cohen is a reflection of Trump’s own character. That’s why he picked him to be his lawyer for years.

The judge has either lost control of the court or he is allowing Cohen to make money off the trial before his sworn testimony. This is unusual latitude to allow a “star” witness to comment on the trial and witnesses, is a legal curiosity.
The question is why Bragg is why would be allowed to put this witness on given that he is bared because of lies in sworn testimony? Why did the judge permit Stormy to offer lurid testimony that did not have a material relation to the case. The prosecution opened the proverbial can of worms by asking such wide open questions to put on the record the sordid details of her alleged affair with Trump. The Trump team has a basis for appeal not only on the gag order, but the judge not curtailing Daniels testimony. The team I’ll have another issue for an appeal with the Cohen testimony.

Although it doesn’t really matter, I would still consider you conservative based on your body of work on this blog. I also support abortion in the 1st trimester for the rare cases of rape or incest; both of which are violations of her natural rights. I also lean toward supporting abortion at any time to save the life of the mother. That’s a tough one, but if the right to life is a natural right, then preventing the mother from choosing her own life would be a violation of that right. Like you, I am open to a debate and to change my position.
Olly, I would say that abortion prior to viability may be necessary to save the woman’s life, such as the doomed ectopic pregnancy. 3rd trimester abortion, however, would not be justified by claiming it would save the mother’s life.
My own pregnancy became life threatening at 37 weeks. I went in for a stress test and was told that I had developed preeclampsia. My organs and the placenta would shut down if it proceeded to eclampsia. It is fatal without treatment, and treatment is ending the pregnancy. I had a C-section scheduled for within the hour, and the actual procedure took minutes. It was like I and my precious child had our own pit crews. My husband came running in as a nurse was tying him into the OR gown, just as they were preparing to get started. My baby was delivered in minutes, and then whisked away by his own team to ensure he was OK. Thank God that he was perfectly healthy, because first pregnancies tend to run late.
By contrast, a third trimester abortion takes 2 days. The process includes giving the fetus a lethal injection anywhere the needle reaches, including its head, cervical dilation, and then delivery of a stillborn. It takes far longer than either an emergency C-section, or induction of labor.

Abortion is never justified unless if the mother’s life is at stake. Even in rape, a child need to be killed. Good can come out of any event including rape, but especially when it is new life.

Federal prosecutors declined to charge Trump with any crime. However a NY Democrat prosecutor claims Trump should go to prison for how he recorded the NDA preparation and payments on his bookkeeping, and how that led to a still as yet undisclosed second crime. What else would legal documents like an NDA be recorded as, if not legal fees? The Democrat activist judge has put Trump under a gag order, to prevent him from campaigning. He’s being persecuted by the government for being a political opponent of Joe Biden, but he’s not allowed to talk about it.
Joe Biden cannot campaign on his own accomplishments. Under his leadership, the US was routed in Afghanistan, and he abandoned Americans in crisis in Afghanistan, Haiti, Israel, and Gaza. Americans were kidnapped by terrorists, and Joe Biden is actively interfering with Israel retrieving them in Rafa, withholding ammunition. Groceries, utilities, and gas are astronomically more expensive. The world is more dangerous. The sterilization of children is being promoted in public schools as a good thing. Biological males are wiping out women in female sports divisions, breaking their records, taking opportunities. Women are told to shut up and keep sweet when they complain that’s not fair, or they don’t want someone with a penis in their private spaces like showers and locker rooms. Biden drained the Strategic Oil Reserves to temporarily, artificially lower the gas prices that his anti-fossil-fuels polices jacked up. He curtailed oil shipments to Europe, making them more reliant on Russian oil. The US now relies on the Middle East and Venezuela for much of its oil. Biden threw open the border and let at least 10 million illegal immigrants into the country, including terrorists. The seeds of the next 9/11 have been sown.
While it’s true that Trump is rude and brash, it’s also true that under every metric I can think of, the US was better off with Trump as President. There were no new wars, gas, utilities, and groceries were far less expensive, we were energy independent between the US and Canada, there was record black unemployment, the dollar went farther, inflation was way down, and Russia didn’t invade any neighboring countries. The border was secured, although Democrats fought against completing the wall.
Democrats in the media absolutely hated that the US prospered under Trump. They resorted to angrily insisting that Trump was working for Russia, despite all evidence to the contrary. They pushed conspiracy theories. They even got so desperate as to selectively edit Trump’s statements to make him sound racist. The Left wanted to destroy statues of people who served in the Confederacy, important works of art and pieces of history, because the subjects had opinions and beliefs that were products of the past. In Charlottesville, locals objected to out-of-towners’ demands to destroy statues in their public parks. Historical societies protested. Antifa and the like descended, demanding that the statues be destroyed. Far right people from out of town showed up to fight with people on the Left. President Trump said that there were good people on both sides of the statue issue, but of course the Neo Nazis should be condemned totally. Democrats in the media cut out the last part, and ludicrously claimed Trump praised Neo Nazis. It was total slander. Trump most certainly wasn’t saying there were good people in Antifa, either. There were good people who wanted the statues removed, and good people who wanted the statues to remain, and bad people descended and took over. Since they couldn’t attack Trump’s results, they kept claiming he was racist. They claimed he was antisemitic, despite him having a Jewish family, and being the staunchest ally to Israel of any American president.
They’re doing it again. They can’t compare the results of the Biden and Trump presidencies, so they’re broadcasting in lurid detail an alleged one night stand with a porn star 20 years ago, and threatening to throw him in jail, while ignoring the documentation of Biden’s serious crimes.

I wish I had written this post. It is excellent, depressing and somewhat terrifying. When polling shows that more than 45% of the electorate support Biden, it shows how effective the legacy media’s propaganda and dishonest reporting have been. A typical Democrat voter with whom we talked yesterday had never heard of the Abraham Accords and did not know Trump had moved the embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. And, she had not yet heard of Biden’s decision to delay arms shipments to Israel. She and many if not most other Democrats would have felt right at home in Germany in the mid to late 1930s. Critical thinking is too much trouble. Your post should be required reading for all of them.
The “Abraham Accords” are a publicity stunt, as is moving the US embassy from Tel Aviv. The implication is that the “Abraham Accords” was some kind of peace agreement–that’s false. The “Abraham Accords” formalized trade between Israel and UAE and Bahrain–who were ALREADY trading. There never was any conflict between Israel and these countries. Explain to me just HOW spending millions moving the Embassy in any way, shape or form benefited the American people–it didn’t. It was done to curry favor with and campaign donations from wealthy Jews, like, for instance, the Koch Brothers.

It will take decades to rebuild Palestine. This vengeful infliction of human suffering is immoral. Defense is one thing–vengeance is another. He didn’t question the results–he declared them false even before all of the votes were counted. No other politiican in US history has ever done that. This was because Trump had just been publicly exposed by the Access Hollywood tape as being a sexual predator–he bragged about kissing and sexually assaulting women he finds “beautiful”. Hope Hicks explained how that revelation hurt his image. Another woman coming forward with a story about him having sex with her without her express permission might have killed his candidacy, especially since she was a porn actress. THESE THINGS HAPPENED–Democrats had nothing to do with it. Trump brought it on himself. And, she did NOT “blackmail” him–Cohen approached her attorney after David Pecker tipped him that she was wanting to sell her story. Pecker testified about the National Enquirer’s practice of “catch and kill”–to help Trump’s image–paying women for an NDA with no intention of publishing the story. THIS IS COURT TESTIMONY.

This, too, has been explained to you–I’ll try one more time–“attorney fees” are paid as compensation to an attorney for services rendered–such as preparing and filing documents, legal research, witness preparation, trial appearance, depositions, and the like. Payments to someone to purchase their silence are not the same thing because they do not compensate the attorney for services. As a matter of fact, attorney fees are taxable to the attorney as income–which is why, according to Alan Weisselberg they had to triple the misrepresented payments to Cohen–because of his tax bracket–to make him whole for the $130K he paid her. Maybe Hannity didn’t show the handwritten notes by Weisselberg–they prove this. Payments to settle a case are reported separately for tax reporting purposes–they are not taxable as income to the attorney.
Trump is under the same gag order any other litigant would be under to prevent them from trying their case in the media, and/or to protect the safety of the parties, witnesses, judge and court staff. There have been death threats.

Russia invaded Ukraine because Putin believed that Trump had so alienated our allies that Biden couldn’t pull togeter a united front–he was wrong. Not only has Biden healed our relations with NATO and the EU, Finland and Sweden are joining NATO, which is stronger than ever. But to try to tip the scales in Putin’s favor, because that’s what Trump wanted them to do, Republicans drug their feet on aid to Ukraine. Our border has never been “secured”–but the BIPARTISAN Border Security Bill would have helped do that–until Trump killed it so he could keep misleading people like you into believing that Biden isn’t handling the border issues.
Look at the state of the US when Trump was put out of ;office–COVID out of control, new daily records of deaths and illnesses, schools, businesses, restaurants closed down, rampant unemployment, shortages of consumer goods and services and no leisure travel. THOSE ARE FACTS–that’s what Trump left Biden to deal with. Biden turned all of that around, but the rapid recovery, along with Trump’s tariffs that caused shortages of computer chips and consumer goods, have helped fuel inflation–which is being brought under control. Trump can’t even handle his own business affairs–6 bankruptcies so far. Biden got passed the Infrastructure Act, COVID Relief Act, Chips Act, Inflation Reduction Act, and has gotten aid to Ukraine. And, Trump’s tax cuts have caused the national debt to soar–Biden is paying this down, but interest on that debt also fuels inflation. YOU ARE THE ONE WHO CAN’T COMPARE BIDEN’S RECORD WITH TRUMP’S. And, Trump was being investigated for the crimes he’s being charged with before Biden ever took office. And, there’s no evidence that Biden committed any crimes.

Democrats don’t expect Republicans to charge Joe Biden with crimes for money laundering through shell companies, stealing classified documents as a senator and vice president, giving said documents to people at the Chinese-funded Penn Biden Center, for using the government to preferentially gather likely Democrat voters in voter drives that target only specific areas, and exclude likely Republican voters, and so on. They don’t expect charges to arise from the 2020 Biden Campaign colluding with the media and government officials to hide his cognitive decline from voters.

Normally, Judicial Gag orders limit all parties from talking about the trial or any of the participants
Judge Merchan only gagged the Defendant. The single party that has protected enumerated rights protecting the defendant from abuse by the Government. Merchan is violating the constitution, gagging Trump. The ACLU is fully supporting Trump in his appeal of the gag order.
Now Merchan is paying the price for his discrimination against Trump. The Defense is going to demand to know why the defendant cannot defend their reputation against the GOVERNMENTS witness. This is exactly the imbalance of power, the founders anticipated when they structured protections of the Defendant.
