Carnegie Mellon University Professor Uju Anya has joined the ranks of academics spreading the conspiracy theory that the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump was “staged.” As for the killing and wounding of bystanders, Anya explained that “that’s exactly what they do.” We previously discussed other academics who have spread this conspiracy theory. However, few are willing to go as far as Professor Anya in explaining how the other victims were used to make the staging more plausible. Anya declared:
“It was staged. Like a stupid Tubi movie set in the Bronx with palm trees in the background. They lie, and people die. That’s exactly what they do
…That’s the record. Whatever ‘attack’ on him they set up to stoke his followers’ fears and sentiments threat and persecution has now cost lives.
…And people died behind this farce. Actual people’s lives gone for them to stage this stupid show. People dying doesn’t make the attack any less staged. Someone who thought the attack was real could’ve killed others trying to prevent harm. Also, someone could’ve shot the shooter to hide the plot.”
The faculty bio states that Anya is an Associate Professor of Second Language Acquisition. She describes herself as
“a scholar of language learning and Black experiences in multilingualism. My primary fields of inquiry are critical applied linguistics, critical sociolinguistics and critical discourse studies examining race, gender, sexual and social class identities in new language learning through the multilingual journeys of African American students.”
Likewise, in a now since-deleted Threads posting, Professor of Psychology at San Diego Mesa College Inna Kanevsky also fueled the baseless conspiracy theory. She posted
“‘He took a bullet for his country!’ No he didn’t. He took it, like everything else he took and keeps taking, for himself. For his own personal aggrandizement.”
Professor Anya has long been a controversial figure including her wish that Queen Elizabeth would die a long “excruciating” death. She later doubled down on the hateful statements.
She also tweeted out crude remarks about the 2022 elections: “contrary to all these major media outlets, the red wave coming is my period on Friday.”
So these and other faculty believe that Trump enlisted a kid who was thrown out of his high school shooting club as a bad shot to wing him at 130 yards from a sloped position. The conspiracists also decided to kill or wound some supporters to make the staging look real. In our age of rage, this all makes sense to these professors.
I agree with Professor Anya that such political statements are protected speech. However, her unhinged and hateful commentary exposes the radicalism of many faculty in higher education today.
I can understand the counter snipers not seeing the assassin while he readied himself below the ridgeline, but once he popped up above ridgeline and was viewable with a rifle he should have been dispatched. That scenario would require the counter snipers knowing of the treat. I have no doubt they would have dispatched the assassin prior to the initial trigger pull if they had known, which raises the question (where, why, when) did command learn of the assassin and what actions did they take. In this particular case the buck stops at many levels. With that being said I still assume that the bureaucratic state has raised Peter to higher and higher level, and has infected the 7th Floor, so to speak.
How much time elapsed between trigger pull and impact of the president ear? Dependent on the caliber of round the assassin used (2.23/5.56), if the assassin used a 2.23 round of over-the-counter quality (55 or 68 grain), with 26’ barrel the impact took anywhere from one tenth to a quarter of a second, and muzzle sound would follow in about one tenth of a second over 130 yards. The counter snipers reacted from my recollection within 5+ seconds to neutralize the assassin.

Consider the following from one of the tens of thousands of soldiers who has been trained as a sniper/counter sniper over the years:
1. Counter snipers area of operations is not the near ground i.e. the stage, nor the mid ground i.e. any threat within 100 – 300 yards. But instead to counter a sniper threat – marksman who are quite capable of being a lethal threat from a sniper’s hide anywhere from 300+ yards to 1500 yards away. You don’t need the magnum .30 caliber rifles they had to make short distance shots inside of 300 yards where wind drift, mirage, and bullet drop are relatively insignificant.
2. Due to the above, counter snipers’ attention and focus when they heard those shots is on those far distances – look at the size of the massive binoculars on the roof beside the standing sniper. You don’t need binoculars that large to examine areas for a threat in the mid ground. You need them to look out at the distances past that for a sniper hide: 400, 500, 600, 700, etc yards.
As a result of that, at the sound of gunshots practically in their laps, counter snipers watching the outer perimeter are suddenly training their eyes (and re-orienting their rifles) in the middle ground on the edges of the crowd. They have been told a few hours before that potential threat is supposedly being covered and prevented by other elements of the close protection group that were posted on that roof. That unexpected event and sound of nearby rifle fire and reorientation towards that threat takes time.
3. All pre-operational briefing would have told those counter snipers that there would be a partner local police sniper team posted on that roof, that denied that roof to would be assassins. They EXPECTED that they might see somebody with a rifle on that roof, AND that person would be fellow snipers from the local police.
With that in mind, when they hear shots and their attention gets torn from the far distance to the near ground and they see an exposed head and a rifle, their automatic reaction should be to instantly put a bullet in the head of whoever’s holding that rifle when they expect it to be a cop? I don’t think so.
This is just speculation, but aside from the time it took to reorient first their attention and then their rifles to an area just over 100 yards from where they are, there was the time it took to see that the head had long hair, no cap as they might expect a sniper to have – and probably the weapons signature of that rifle oriented towards the president and being fired.
All of that together takes time.
All in all, having that horrible and completely unexpected surprise dumped in their laps, that countersniper team did a very good job of reorienting, detecting, recognizing, and then responding to the would-be murderer. The shot itself, many good pistol shots could have made with a handgun – handgun hunters do it by the thousands each year at that distance.

An encouraging development about colleges and universities. Purdue University has a housing crisis for incoming freshman. I was in the Marine Corps. I could put a bullet within a three foot circle at 500 yards with four clicks of windage adjustments using just a peep sight and I was not an expert shooter. When hunting I could easily see an antelopes eye at three hundred yard with a cheap scope. Somehow the Secret Service couldn’t see that the shooter had a rifle from 150 yards with the best scopes that money can buy? The most likely conclusion is that they saw that the shooter was armed and were waiting for a clearance to take the shot. The clearance never came until after the shooting began. Trump was shot and a man lay on the ground with gray matter leaking from his head and a lot of sick people say it was all staged. I guess if it was staged the Secret Service must have been in on it too. Will there be any apologies from the people who say it was staged when they vote for Biden in November? They have been well trained.

Saw X stream from a guy who was prior SS for IIRC three presidents.
According to him, snipers are used to look for shooters at extended ranges, like past 400yrds and out. It is assumed the local LEOs would be responsible for the area where the shooter gained access to the building. He assessed the snipers were not aware until the people on the ground saw the would be assassin, Act Blue donor and began pointing.
Waiting for the independent investigation to see what they find. But so far, SS is getting hammered about their DEI policies.

It would have been easy to figure out where the points of danger were in this situation. No forensics have been reported–was Trump grazed by a bullet? Did it come from Crooks’s gun, or is everyone assuming that Trump was grazed by a bullet from Crooks? I don’t doubt that Crooks fired bullets, but that doesn’t prove that one of them grazed Trump. 2. Where was Trump allegedly taken for treatment? Why did no physician do a news conference to describe the alleged injury and treatment? The other victims went to Allegheny Medical Center, but I have yet to see any report regarding Trump. All of this leads to the questions of was Trump really injured at all, and if so, by what? These key facts are missing. Then, you have the made-for-TV lip-biting and fist-pumping photo ops, fund-raising and claims that “Trump took a bullet for America”, which adds even more qurestions about the veracity of the entire scenario. It hasn’t been proven that Trump even “took a bullet”–at best, he MIGHT have been grazed, but even that hasn’t been proven.
There are conspiracy theorists who claim there were a total of 4 shooters and Crooks was just one of them. I don’t know what facts these theories are based on. There have also been reports that local law enforcement assumed responsibility for the area outside the perimeter, that they had been on the roof at one point but didn’t stay and were inside when Crooks fired his weapon. During the presidential election season, due to the duties toward existing protectees and the added burden of candidates to be protected 24 hours a day, the SS does not have enough trained personnel to perform every possible security task, so they must rely on local law enforcement for some aspects of protection. According to reports, local law enforcement agreed to secure the perimeter.
In the hours after I heard about it and watched the video, one of the possibilities that came to my mind was that it was staged. Prof. Turley did a good job ridiculing Prof. Anya, but I don’t think he (and his minions) did much at all in the way of addressing the facts.

At my age, a lot of young adults seem like kids to me, but a twenty-year-old is certainly grown up enough to vote and be drafted into a war. Tens of millions of Americans were pimply-faced clowns when they were 13 and matured considerably by the time they were 19. Mark Twain has a famous quote about how much he learned between 18 and 21, and the shooter was almost 21. If he had been practicing at a rifle range for years, he might’ve trained himself to be an expert marksman despite the comments by classmates who knew him years ago.
Also consider that Trump was the producer of a so-called “reality” TV show for ten years, which was essentially a series of staged events. Or consider the televised “fights” between Trump and Vince McMahon of WWE. Does anyone think those were anything but staged?

As I posted in detail earlier, those countersnipers were assigned to secure (and if a threat presented itself) the far areas where a competent marksman sniper could hit the president from. Think 400 yards out to perhaps as much as 1500 yards. Those massive binoculars you see on the roof beside him aren’t for looking at people/things 100-200 yards away.
Furthermore, in the workup training and briefing that took place before this event (as a former Marine you know how that goes), those counter snipers were told that a local police sniper team would be posted on that roof to secure it from being accessed by a threat. They were told in O Groups to EXPECT to see fellow snipers with rifles on that roof, securing it from being a threat.

I would only add, the scopes they have are high powered, large objective. At max magnification power, the field of view is very small, around 3ft at 100yrds. It does take a few seconds to re-orientate, find the target, adjust the parallax.

In the time that I was being deployed overseas as a sniper/commanding snipers and a weapons det, our primary weapon was a 7.62 bolt action rifle with 10x Unertl scope. We did not have the advantage/problem of having a wide range of scope magnifications to select between at our finger tips.
Today’s snipers equipped with scopes such as yours, oriented towards the most likely range of engagement at somewhere around 400 – 700 yards would have their scopes preset to what magnification at that range? I will attempt a wild assed guess and say something around 16x to 24x? You need enough field of view to be able to quickly snap to the target, not just the best magnification for a carefully fired round.
Following from that, going from whatever magnification and parallax they have pre-set in their scope while providing overwatch to a sniper threat practically within pistol shot, having parallax not adjusted for that very short range is not nearly as problematic as spinning their magnification down to a power that gives them sufficient field of view to find the threat, identify that it isn’t the head of a cop posted on that roof, and then fire a shot to dump the threat.
With that in mind, I have watched what poor video we have of the one and only counter-sniper team that was on scene multiple times. I haven’t spent hours pouring over it, but the body language of that sniper over those few seconds seems to be one of being startled at realizing the shooter threat is right in their laps, not out at a distance. And then snapping his eye back down to the scope and reorienting his rifle inwards and depressed to a close range threat. That’s the body language of startled, and “Oh SHITTTTT!!!!!”
I can’t remember if I saw his hand change the magnification, but perhaps he posts with his scope set low, assuming that the further out the threat the more likely he’ll need the higher magnifications and at the same time probably/hopefully also having the time and probability of making a more deliberate shot than a snap shot at a threat that’s practically in his front pocket looking at the president below him.
That counter-sniper team did a very good job re-orientating from their AOR at the long distance to an unexpected and close threat close to and slightly below them. That’s assuming that all elements of the Secret Service team hadn’t been warned there was an unknown subject on that roof and there was no police sniper team posted there.
I am wondering when somebody will start asking other, less obvious sniper type questions?
Like: when do we get to see the operational orders given that counter-sniper team? When did we get to see the counter-sniper teams range cards and what they display? Don’t tell me that a counter-sniper team posted in that location isn’t going to have carefully prepared and laser confirmed range cards with relevant notes on nearby units, potential threats, etc… They made up range cards such as that, then compared them, while doing pre-deployment preparation and walking the far ground looking for already pre-positioned sniper hides.
We aren’t even close to getting close to having all the necessary information to unpack all of this. The vast majority of people, including me, are just speculating based on what/if any background experience/knowledge that we’re speculating from.
What I do know as a fact that this is a massive, MASSIVE screwup at the highest levels of the Secret Service. And we’re getting dumb shit distractions about women being on the physical presence presidential team.
Reminiscent of then Director James Comey and the FBI as they hid incompetence and malfeasance at the head office through eight years of Obama and Mueller Uranium One, etc, and ultimately when they perjured themselves to FISA courts to get those counterespionage warrants on direction from Obama.
Maybe they should have had some snipers with .357s at the ready.

I’m on the right but I can’t help thinking that something isn’t on the up and up about the Trump assassination attempt. As reported by ABC NEWS the Secret Service saw the shooter on the roof 20 minutes before the shooting occurred. The scopes on their rifles made them easily capable of seeing that the shooter had a rifle and that they would have no problem taking him out at a thousand yards much less at 150 yards. Being suspicious of why they didn’t act earlier does not constitute a conspiracy theory. A full blown conspiracy theory would be something like Trump peed on a bed in Moscow or that the Russians faked the Hunter laptop. Have you seen this? St’unt Cheatle’s contended that the Secret Service was responsible for only inner perimeter security, with local police responsible for the outer perimeter. But Butler Township commissioner Edward Natali claims that Butler Township police had ZERO security detail responsibility during the Trump event, and were, in fact, responsible for nothing beyond traffic control:
