In a new sign of the intolerance of our Age of Rage, liberal activists in D.C. have forced a politics-themed bar in Washington, D.C., “Political Pattie’s,” to remove the GOP political symbol from its building. The GOP pachyderm will be packed away to protect the sensibilities of Democrats. The appearance of the elephant was too triggering for liberals and boycotts were being threatened.
According to The Washingtonian, “Political Pattie’s,” the red elephant was removed before the opening because it “was hurtful to the community.” No party symbols will be shown so that D.C. customers feel safe or at least satisfied in the space.
In a statement, owners Andrew Benbow and Sydney Bradford explained that “soon after our logo was painted on our building’s facade, we realized that the representation of the red elephant was hurtful to the community.”
While both Benbow and Bradford support Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election, they were hoping to encourage discourse and “promote unity,” according to Roll Call. Democrats would have none of it. They will also now repaint the word “Political” on the sign in blue to help maintain the apparent safe space for liberals.
The owners added “We view the online backlash that we’ve recently received to be mean spirited, especially considering our original and continued intent to be a space that is welcoming to ALL people, including members of the LGBTQ community.” Yet, they yielded to that threatened cancel campaign.
Roughly half of this country is Republican or conservative according to presidential voting patterns. Yet, many Democrats cannot tolerate even the inclusion of both symbols for the political parties. They will now be able to eat and drink in the same type of echo chamber where they receive news and discuss politics. The “hurt” will be gone with the reference to alternative viewpoints.
A political themed bar is now not allowed to she this GOP elephant. Is the Donkey removed too? How about those that are not happy go find another bar. It is not like Washington is lacking in watering holes. How about we remove the Political Patties go somewhere else because I find them offensive and they might trigger me?
Maybe they should all go jump in a lake. Or maybe they already did because they are all wet.
But a Hammer and Sickle or Portrait of Chez would be so welcoming to the liberal wack-a-doodles. I suppose the loons can now raise a fist into the air showing victory for the people (or is that SOME people) and leading the USA to the promised land of no more perceived personal slights. We will be stronger and better signaling to our adversaries that hurt feelings are more than can we can handle! What a bunch of disgraceful weenies this country has become and led by some of the biggest weenies in politics, academia, and legal circles. History may not repeat but it certainly mimic’s failures of once great civilizations!

I’m very sorry the owners caved to the intolerant Left. The owners’ original vision – a bar explicitly welcoming ALL people, regardless of politics – was admirable, fun and needed. Now they are just another bar.
The fact they would welcome anyone is exactly what was so offensive to the Left, which is practically defined by its intolerance. The modern Left cannot even tolerate someone else being tolerant.
Everyday is intolerance day for the woke/prog/left crowd, now must amend “snowflake” to the appellation.

Gays and Lesbians are a population of people who have same sex attraction. Trans have nothing in common with G/L. The word Queer is a slur but the Left uses it anyways, just like Latinx, because the Left portrays themselves as these people saviors when it fact they couldnt give a whit.
Senator Barack Obama, Senator Hillary Clinton, Speaker Nancy Pelosi neither attempted or discussed introducing legislation for gay marriage when they were Members of Congress. They didnt give a whit. Most gays / lesbians know there is no community amongst people like them considering lesbian couples have the high rate of domestic violence and gay men, when they are not infecting their peers with HIV, refer to HIV+ men as “unclean”. Gays have fairly fragmented and hostile relationships with each other, e.g. Drag vs Gays Against Groomers
As for Trans, Gays / Lesbians know Trans are using them and riding their coattails while disregarding their own history of struggle, acceptance and seeking marriage rights. Trans are like some Black race hustlers, e.g. BLM. They hustle for their selfish needs. Gays like Bari Weiss, Nellie Bowles, Katie Herzog, Glenn Greenwald, Dave Rubin, Peter Thiel, Andrew Sullivan, etc all vilified by Democrats. Rubin is a key gay supporter and organizer for Trump in Florida. He is also friends with Gov Ron DeSantis, a fact that Democrats detest.
Political Patties bar signed their death certificate with this PR stunt. That the owners are blacks indicates they have learned nothing in how Democrats literally and figuratively have hung them out to die. Good luck surviving the violent crime in DC after losing half of your customer base. Dim wits.
