    Michael Moore is a babbling anti-Constitution and anti-American totalitarian lunatic. He’s the kind of babbling lunatic that you could easily put an “The End Is Near” sign in his hand, place him on a street corner with other obscure screaming lunatics and people will walk right by him as if he doesn’t exist. These kinds of lunatics don’t add anything productive to our society, they’re a psychological drain to society, they’re a malignant cancer to our culture, and they’re a mud puddle to intentionally step over instead of stepping in. Yup, that’s my opinion of Michael Moore in a nut-shell.

    All these anti-Constitution wackadoodle wingnuts are pushing way too hard and way too far.

Today … they preach their political, social, economic and world views as if they are law! Today … they no longer are engaged in some way of educating law school students about the law, but seek to indoctrinate and manipulate students (and the entire USA) because their ideas about politics, society, the economy and the world are superior to those of anyone not a sycophant of theirs. (So says someone who earned a JD from Duquesne University in 1969)

    As far as I’m concerned, the underlying core issue of this election is about voting for the Constitution or voting against the Constitution and there is nothing more important to our society and culture than the Constitution. This is a one issue election for me. Don’t let the smoke screen of other issues divert attention away from the threats to the Constitution.

    Under the current social and political conditions, I can find no logical, ethical, or moral reason to cast any votes for any Democrats that are currently running for political office. I’m voting FOR maintaining the Constitution because that is exactly what this election is about. I will hold my breath and cast my votes on November 5, 2024 for the only candidates that are pro-Constitution and have a chance of keeping the anti-Constitution Democrats out of office. I’m going to vote 100% for Republicans and then I’ll perform a Post Vote Purge*. As absurd as it may seem coming from me, yes, I’m going to vote for anyone that has a (R) after their name and I’ve openly stated my reasons for doing so.

    Vote FOR maintaining the Constitution, anything else is completely unacceptable!

    *Post Vote Purge: is when voting for the candidates on the ballot makes you so damn sick that you have to vomit/purge after voting.

You say there’s “no logical, ethical, or moral reason” to vote Democrat–why? Here are multiple logical, ethical and moral reasons NOT to vote for Trump:

      1. he is a convicted criminal who is under multiple additional indictments for things like: a. stealing classified documents and lying about returning them, storing them in unsecure locations and moving them around to prevent his attorney from returning them; b. starting an insurrection by lying about his nonexistent “victory” being stolen by nonexistent “fraud”; his running mate REFUSES to admit Trump lost in 2020, and they’ve managed to convince a large number of mostly Republicans to keep believing the BIG LIE–why would anyone vote for someone who would deny the American voting public their choice of President? Oh, and he got multiple swing-state people to falsify Electoral College documents saying that he won, knowing that he didn’t, tried to bully Secretaries of State to “find” votes he didn’t get and one of his fans just drew a 9 year prison sentence for trying to tamper with voting machines. He allowed the violent insurrection to continue for over 3 hours, knowing that his fans were hunting for Pence, intended to kill him, along with Nancy Pelosi, ignoring pleas from his family and staff to call off the violence. The Capitol incurred millions of dollars of damage and police officers were battered and injured—several of them died while Trump lies about Nancy Pelosi refusing to call the National Guard–which would not have been necessary but for his BIG LIE. If he had stopped the violence sooner, Ashli Babbitt, one of his fans, would not have died.

      2. Trump is a chronic, habitual liar, and the lies he tells are not harmless–they hurt people. Recent whoppers: lying about Haitian migrants, who have protected status, stealing pets and eating them in Springfield, OH, resulting in people being afraid to leave their homes or let their children attend school; lying about Hurricane relief–claiming that victims can only get $750–which is only money for immediate needs; lying about FEMA refusing aid to “Republican areas”, because this is what he did in “Democrat areas” when he was stinking up the White House; lying about FEMA not providing aid to swing state voters in N. Carolina and Georgia–trying to get people there to vote for him based on his lies.

      3. Trump has been adjudicated a fraudster–lying on loan applications, lying on business records to cover up pay offs to a nude model and porn actress. He also stole money from his “charitable foundation” that he was forced to return and pay a multi-million dollar fine;

      4. Trump was adjudicated liable for sexually assaulting E. Jean Carroll.

      5. Project 2025–which WOULD trash the Constitution and create an imperial presidency–all aided and abetted by the Leonard Leo SCOTUS that has green-lighted the POTUS committing crimes. No abortions, no IVF, NOAA and the Department of Education gone, civil servants fired and replaced by Trump syncophants who will not push back no matter how insane or illegal he becomes. The Christian Nationalist agenda shoved down our throats. The book was written mostly by former Trump administration members, and the foreword is by Vance. It is described as the playbook for the next Republican president. Because most Americans find its contents repulsive, Trump and Republicans lie about it being their agenda–just another lie.

      6. During COVID, Trump gave our taxpayer-purchased COVID tests and testing equipment to Vladimir Putin, a murderous dictator–Putin has confirmed this. Because of the shortage of tests, people sat in long lines to get COVID tests–sometimes 8 to 12 hours–and he’s giving away our tests and testing equipment. Then, there’s the fact that he botched the pandemic by lying and downplaying the seriousness–all for the sake of that massive ego of his that knows no bounds.

      7. Trump did a lousy job pretending to be POTUS–he takes credit for the economy before COVID–but, as Obama pointed out in a speech in Pittsburgh–it was OBAMA’s economy that was successful–Trump turned that around to the worst recession since the Great Depression. Trump is the only POTUS in recent history to LOSE jobs. He will do the same if he gets back into office. Responsible and respected economists say that his tariffs will cause the cost of nearly everything to go up–paid for by the American people to the tune of several thousand dollars a year more just to buy the same things you buy now.

      8. Trump is not respected-either here or abroad. Dozens of members of his own administration do not support him, including Mike Pence, Generals Kelly and Milley, and have spoken out against him, saying he is not qualified to be POTUS.

      You’re trying to influence people to vote for anyone with an “R” after their name–what response do you have to the FACTS listed above?

The progressive wing of the Democratic Party, which has basically taken over the party, has absolutely no respect for the United States Constitution, period.

Did Mike Pence have any legal authority to refuse to accept the certified votes showing Biden won? Did Trump ask Brad Raffensberger, the Secretary of State of Georgia to “find” him 11,780 votes, “which is one more than we have”, and is this illegal conduct? Did Trump get fake electors in swing states to falsify Electoral College documents falsely claiming he won? Did Trump steal classified documents, lie about returning them, lie about mentally “declassifying” them, and force the NARA to get the FBI, via warrant, to seize the documents, and were they stored in unsecure locations? Did Trump lie about the seriousness of COVID when he was in office, including, but not limited to, saying it was no worse than the flu, and that it would go away when the weather warmed up? Were either of these claims true? Did Trump give our taxpayer-purchased COVID tests and testing equipment to Vladimir Putin, an enemy of the United States in 2020 at a time when there was a shortage and American citizens had to wait in line for hours to get a test? Answer these basic questions, and then tell us why Trump has lied and done all of these things.

          So, who, between us, has lost sight of reality or objective analysis? Is Trump fit to serve as the leader of the free world? Most people do not think so, especially those who dealt directly with him when he was in office, like Pence, Generals Milley and Kelly and other members of his administration.

          I have asked that same question. Seems to me, they took an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States from all enemies foreign and domestic. Those who are calling to commit un-Constitutional acts would be enemies of the Constitutional. Anyone who gives an order for a uniformed military member to commit un-Constitutional acts would also be a enemy of the Constitution. Any tyrannical government who committed un-Constitutional acts, uniformed military member have no obligation to take orders from that government. For that matter, that tyrannical government would be an enemy those uniformed military members swore to defend against.
          Now, someone like Milley may think they are on the right side of history. But they would be wrong.

Just how it is. If those that still consider themselves such care to wake up and do something different, they can be my guest, the courage of people like RFK is something to behold simply in his denunciation of the modern party, Trump or no Trump, but it’s like asking a staunch Catholic to denounce Christ at this point (forgive the hyperbole, but that’s where we are: born blue, baptized blue, never, ever, asking questions, and rejecting out of hand what has been taught to be Satan, i.e., anyone slightly to the center of the party’s narrative) and most people are too contented in their comfort zones to ever make that break.

          You may be right but I think there’s at least a reasonable possibility that you may be wrong.

          There are prominent classic liberals that have publicly left the Democratic Party, politicians, attorneys, professors, businessmen, and I know a few retired people that fit in that category. People tend to lean more conservative as they grow older and there are millions of baby boomers that are at or just short of retirement age. I know a local politician that was considered to be damn near a communists that as he grew older governed more like a conservative. There are classic liberals that are moving out of Democratic controlled areas of the USA and intentionally moving to more conservative areas of the USA and as long as they don’t drag their past Democratic Party voting habits with them, things will change. There are classic liberals that are completely fed up with the public education system and are now home schooling or private schooling their children. There is a huge swath of inner city blacks that realize that the Trump is a racist propaganda was/is a bald-faced lie and they were economically better off with Trump in office than Democrats. The list goes on and on. Let’s face it, the Democratic Party has pushed, and pushed, and pushed itself so far to the extreme left that it is completely unrecognizable to classic liberals and moderate independents (like me). The Democratic Party has gone so far left that to a modern day progressive, classic liberals and moderate Independents are considered conservative Republicans. I think the Democratic Party has pushed itself too far and they’re stuck in an ideological corner and now they’re lashing out at everyone like cornered wolves – these progressive fools are eating their own.

They are literally everything they project onto their opposition and then some, and in their lack of former pretense of fairness or respect for law they are worse than fascists of the past, IMO – they are telling us precisely how they will continue to govern. That part of the electorate thinks this is fine is a tragedy of privilege and/or ignorance. It goes beyond rhetoric at this point.

    Voting for them is madness, and psychos like Moore, Olberman, and the MSM either don’t realize they would have to live in that hellscape too, or don’t care. This is all going to be very ugly. It’s guaranteed. After seeing the destruction they’ve been capable of in just four years – our country could easily cease to be by 2029 if dems hold onto power (just watch Britain. That dumpster fire will be an ash pile in no short order under modern labour).

    2020 was a demarcation point for humanity. It remains to be seen in what direction.

  15. What did Turley expect? The Supreme Court granted the president near-full immunity. That’s why they gave Judge Chutkan the job of figuring out what is and isn’t an official act. Moore and the others suggesting Biden can do those things are right. Biden can do those things and pretty much be immune from prosecution. The courts cannot intervene. That’s not their job. They can’t use communications from staff or use them as witnesses. That’s all according to the Supreme Court’s newly declared “law” about presidential immunity.

    Turley is trying to argue that Biden cannot do what the Supreme Court declared the president immune from anything as long as they are considered official acts. Justice Sotomayor made this point quite clearly, and now Turley is complaining that those suggestions to Biden would be unconstitutional. No, they would not be. Not according to the Supreme Court. This is the Pandora’s box they chose to open in their attempt to defend Trump. Now they have to deal with this mess, and Turley is looking for a reason to deny President Biden the same protections because he’s a Democrat. Truly hilarious.

    The Supreme Court also gave presidents presumptive immunity for acts considered part of their official duties.

    1. This reveals a fundamental misunderstanding of the Supreme Court ruling. It did not grant “near-full immunity” to the president…any more than the immunity of judges, prosecutors, and police officers grants them “near-full immunity” for committing unlawful acts. For example, a judge cannot be prosecutor for acquitting a defendant, since that is a judicial act within the scope of his official duties; he may, however, be prosecuted for accepting the bribe that led him to acquit the defendant, since accepting bribes is outside the scope of a judge’s “official acts.”

      Similarly, a president can’t be prosecuted for doing something dumb or controversial (eg, ordering a military strike in a combat zone that kills an American, addressing a crowd as president, or signing an initial executive order forgiving student debts throughout the country), but can be held legally accountable for acts that fall clearly outside the scope of his duties — such as ordering the arrest or assassination of political opponents or, perhaps, engaging in actions that have already been held unconstitutional by the Supreme Court.

      The ruling merely codified what most legal professionals would have assumed: a public official’s official acts — even if mistaken, wrongheaded, or just plain idiotic — are immune from prosecution, in order to ensure that the offical can act decisively when the need arises, without fear that he’ll be thrown in jail by his opponents if it turns out he blew it. It most assuredly does NOT grant blanket immunity for officials who are bound and determined to betray the public trust and the good will of its citizens by open defiance of the laws of the country.

      1. Jeff, your false equivalence is problematic. Judges and cops don’t are not presidents.

        You also omitted that the Supreme Court did NOT define what would constitute an official act. They left that to the lower courts. The Supreme Court’s ruling gave presidents a LOT of leeway in what constitutes immunity. Prosecutors can’t use official communications as evidence to prosecute even if the act itself is outside of the scope of an official act. They can’t use the president’s cabinet members or any white house communication as evidence because they gave those acts presumptive immunity.

        Any president can use official channels and communications to commit a crime and be immune from prosecution, even after leaving office. However, such communications cannot be used as evidence due to their presumptive immunity as official conduct.

        Biden can issue an executive order to forgive student loans and not be prosecuted for it because an executive order is an official act. It’s immune from judicial review, according to the Supreme Court. A. president can incarcerate a political opponent or “eliminate” one using the military and still be immune from prosecution because they are all official acts as the president ordering the military to conduct such actions. Trump’s lawyers admitted to the Supreme Court that it was possible under their claims, and the Supreme Court essentially agreed when they issued their ruling.

        Now Turley is looking to make excuses and apply a double standard when people suggest Biden can do things deemed unconstitutional or illegal because he’s immune from prosecution.   16. Jonathan: I’ll get to your column but first as review of other important news this week–and it was choked full of “October” surprises:

    –Senator Sheldon Whitehouse released a long report this week showing how the DJT WH prevented a full FBI investigation of Brett Kavanaugh’s sexual misconduct after DJT nominated him to the Court. Thousands of leads that would have corroborated the testimony of Christine Blasey Ford and Deborah Ramirez were never investigated by the FBI on instructions from the DJT WH. When the info from the Bureau’s “tip line” was turned over to DJT it was then buried. Kavanaugh went on to be confirmed by the narrowest of margins and he was a key vote in overturning Roe v. Wade. Might the result in that decision have been different had Kavanaugh not been conformed? We’ll never know because DJT stacked the deck!

    –Then on Tuesday, Michael Hiltzik had an interesting column in the LA Times: “A Conservative think tank says Trump’s policies would crater the Economy”. Hiltzik cites the conservative Peterson Institute that Harris’ policy proposals would expand the debt by $3.5 trillion–those of DJT by $7.5 trillion. Peterson also points out that DJT’s proposal to deport all migrant workers would have a devastating impact on the economy: “The disappearance of migrant workers…dries up local demand at grocery stores…the resulting blow to demand for all workers overwhelms the reduction in supply of foreign workers”. What would happen if suddenly the crops couldn’t by harvested, restaurants, hotels and other businesses lost their supply of cheap migrant labor? What if DJT lost the immigrant labor at his golf resorts?

    –Another “October” surprise was Bob Woodward’s new book “War” that details how DJT has tried to conduct a “shadow government” since leaving office in 2021. Woodward says DJT and Putin had at least 7 secret phone calls during the past 4 years. What did they discuss? We don’t know because DJT never reported the calls to the State Department. Could DJT be prosecuted for violating the Logan Act?

    Woodward also details how in 2020, at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, DJT secretly sent Abbott Point of Care Covid test machines to Putin for his personal use. Putin was very appreciative because he, like DJT, is a germaphobe. But Putin told DJT not to mention this to anyone. DJT dutifully followed Putin’s instructions. All of this has been confirmed by a Kremlin statement. The Q? Who is the puppet master in this relationship?

    In his book Woodward calls DJT “worse than Nixon”. When the guy who exposed the Watergate scandal and all the crimes of Richard Nixon–if that guy tells us the Crimes of DJT are worse–well we should sit up and pay attention!

    2. Where is Woodward’s deep dive into Kamala Harris’s background as a pompous, entitled, power-abusing prosecutor? And AG? We’ll wait.

    3. Where’s the investigation into Kamala’s husband Doug slapping around his ex-girlfriend in public?
      There is far more *actual corroborating evidence* of THAT abuse by Emhoff than anything Blasey-Ford lied about.
      Has Kamala been asked ONE question about it? Of course not.

      Did Senator Kamala Harris give a f*ck about Kavanaugh’s rights or presumption of innocence when she shamefully smeared him during his confirmation hearings? No.
      Did Senator Harris know the allegations against Kavanaugh were outrageous false smears and lies? Yes. But that did not stop Harris from smearing the sh8t out of Kavanaugh’s reputation.

        Kamala Harris none of the things you claim–but Trump is each of them, including a convicted criminal, adjudicated fraudster, adjudicated sexual assaulter and chronic, habitual liar.

    …Then I turned on Sunday’s MTP and watched Kristen Welker continuously cut off Speaker Mike Johnson and (parroting George Stephanopoulos), ending his time by inserting her own take on “the truth.” Of course, he came on first, so that Kristen Welker could bring on Liz Cheney after him, to undermine anything he said, with no interruption.
    I watched Obama courting not all Americans, -just Black men- to vote for Kamala. The under-reported coverage of what Obama told his audience DID manage to slip just one gem: when Obama asked, “Do you think Trump has ever changed a diaper?” someone shouted out, “Only his own!” Obama laughed and said, “I almost said that, but decided that I shouldn’t.”
    ..So funny when Obama says that, -but disgusting if Trump were to say something like that about Harris….
    Yes, a new America, new political games, indeed. Is this the “turn the page” for a new America that is being touted?
